:04:14.:04:24.
:04:24.:04:24.

# Give to me baby # All the girls say, pretty fly for

:04:24.:04:34.

:04:40.:04:44.

# Just to get along today. # Our subject isn't cool.

:04:44.:04:47.

# But he thinks it anyway. # He may not have a clue.

:04:47.:04:56.

# And he may not have style. # But everything he lacks.

:04:56.:05:01.

# Well he makes up in denial. # So don't debate, play it straight.

:05:01.:05:06.

# You know he really doesn't get it anyway.

:05:06.:05:16.

# So if you don't rate, just overcompensate.

:05:38.:05:41.

# At least you'll know you can always go on Ricki Lake.

:05:41.:05:45.

# The world needs wannabees, so (hey, hey).

:05:45.:05:48.

:05:52.:05:55.

# Uh-huh uh-huh. # And all the girlies say I'm

:05:55.:05:58.

pretty fly for a white guy. # He needs some cool tunes.

:05:58.:06:01.

# Not just any will suffice. # But they didn't have Ice Cube.

:06:01.:06:04.

# So he bought Vanilla Ice. # Now cruising in his Pinto.

:06:04.:06:07.

# He sees homies as he pass. # But if he looks twice.

:06:07.:06:11.

# They're gonna kick his lily ass. # So don't debate, play it straight.

always go on Ricki Lake. # The world loves wannabees, so

:06:24.:06:26.

(hey, hey). # Do that brand new thing.

:06:26.:06:29.

# Now he's getting a tattoo, yeah. # He's gettin' ink done.

:06:29.:06:32.

# He asked for a "13" but they drew a "31".

:06:32.:06:35.

# Friends say he's trying too hard. # And he's not quite hip.

:06:35.:06:38.

# But in his own mind. # He's the, he's the dopest trip.

# At least you'll know you can always go on Ricki Lake.

:07:01.:07:03.

# The world needs wannabes. # The world loves wannabes.

:07:03.:07:05.

# Let's get some more wannabes (hey, hey).

:07:05.:07:08.

# Do that brand new thing #. Wow! Here is our top five reasons

:07:08.:07:13.

to love Reading Festival. In at five. We love Reading because it's

:07:13.:07:17.

in Reading. Slap bang in the middle of the town, not City am we reckon

:07:17.:07:23.

it's the easest festival to get to. With the high street a stone's

:07:23.:07:29.

throwaway it's perfect for last- minute festival essentials. At four,

:07:29.:07:32.

American rock. Over the years it has become the home for some of the

:07:32.:07:37.

biggest rock acts from across the pond. Step forward the likes of

:07:37.:07:47.
:07:47.:08:00.

Guns and Roses, Slayer, matal ka -- Pearl Jam. And Blink 182. That was

:08:00.:08:08.

awesome. Awesome, indeed. At three. It's the Young ones. I'm 18, 18,

:08:08.:08:12.

I'm 20. It's the festival of choice to party at with all your mates

:08:12.:08:16.

after those exams. It gets a reputation of being young, you get

:08:16.:08:20.

more young people coming. They tell each other about. It We haven't

:08:20.:08:25.

seen any old people. I'm feeling old. Old people can't rave rave

:08:25.:08:30.

like we do. I thought I would re- live my youth again. Make the most

:08:30.:08:37.

of it before we go back to school. It's audience participation at

:08:37.:08:46.

number two. Jumping.Moshing. Chucking. At Reading you can rely

:08:46.:08:51.

on a whole stack of audience participation, probably not the

:08:51.:08:57.

best idea to try that wearing a kilt though. At one, no top five

:08:57.:09:03.

reasons to love Reading would be kpreet complete without a nod to to

:09:03.:09:12.

a performance that has gone down in folk law. It's Nirvana's

:09:12.:09:22.
:09:22.:09:36.

$NEWLINE # Yo, you might hear me make a racket like Wilson.

:09:37.:09:39.

# Cause I love summer no Rachel Bilson (YES).

:09:39.:09:43.

# The winter will come. # We just have parties inside it's

:09:43.:09:44.

still fun. # (We're jammin').

:09:44.:09:45.

# pump this. # (We're bangin').

:09:45.:09:47.

# Chase your boyfriend let's 'av him.

:09:47.:09:49.

# We're rowdy, girls make our judgement cloudy.

:09:49.:09:52.

# But when the sun comes up we're still alcys.

:09:52.:09:54.

# We don't wanna be lowsy, or shameless.

:09:54.:09:56.

# but we're running round like we're brainless.

:09:56.:09:59.

# now I've got grass stains on my brand new white trainers.

:09:59.:10:02.

# (ON MY BRAND NEW WHITE TRAINERS). # Ummmm... I know a few guys hate

:10:15.:10:16.

the. # YEAH YEAH.

:10:16.:10:19.

# Let's get down with the trumpets. # When I get down.

:10:19.:10:22.

# I get respect now. # and when our tunes drops.

:10:22.:10:24.

# you know it makes your head bounce.

:10:24.:10:29.

# yeah I move with the flow. # and when I enter the room it

:10:29.:10:33.

shows. # I move sick (WHEN I DANCE).

:10:33.:10:40.

DANCE). # at risk.

:10:41.:10:44.

# (WHEN I DANCE). # just be careful you don't lose

:10:44.:10:47.

your chick (WHEN I DANCE). # that might just happen.

:10:47.:10:57.
:10:57.:11:02.

# so listen deep. # stick with your madame.

:11:02.:11:05.

# YEAH YEAH. # Let's get down with the trumpets.

:11:05.:11:07.

# WHAT. # Let's get down with the down with

:11:07.:11:08.

the. # YEAH YEAH.

:11:08.:11:12.

the air # Will it take, to put your bras in

:11:16.:11:19.

the air # Just don't pretend that

:11:19.:11:23.

# If I wasn't older you wouldn't wanna dance with me, yeah

:11:23.:11:27.

# You're the last of my fears # I was top boy of the class in my

:11:27.:11:30.

year # Well not really, but I wasful

:11:30.:11:33.

half way there # And I could have been the

:11:33.:11:40.

headmaster, so, yeah # Got vibes and charisma

:11:40.:11:47.

# I want the sun to shine # Till I I'm looking at bright blue

:11:47.:11:53.

# Yes, and we drop it like anvils # Bring your whole crew to a stand

:11:53.:11:56.

still, still # Stick us on at clubs and I

:11:56.:12:06.

# Guarantee that no body would stand still.

:12:06.:12:08.

:12:22.:12:34.

# Let's get down with the trumpets. # There's a boy with his head.

:12:34.:12:38.

# Pressed up to the window. # Of a bus heading out of town.

:12:38.:12:41.

# In his breath on the glass. # He draws with his finger.

:12:41.:12:47.

# A map of the roads they go down. # Circles of street lights.

:13:18.:13:27.

# The rumble strip clack. # And the rattling frame.

:13:27.:13:37.
:13:37.:13:40.

# The engine hums, a humble tune. # Under lamp light glow.

:13:40.:13:44.

# And paradise stars. # An infinity of dancing white

:13:44.:13:50.

# He sees that his debt. # Is to experience only.

:13:50.:13:57.

# And not to those who'd plan out # The night outside is five below.

:15:22.:15:56.

# Lie awake in bed at night. # And think about your life.

:15:56.:16:06.
:16:06.:16:06.

# Do you want to be different?. # Try to let go of the truth.

:16:06.:16:16.
:16:16.:16:29.

# The battles of your youth. Jump, # It's a beautiful lie.

staring straight into the ground. # Looking to the left slightly,

:18:21.:18:24.

then looking back down. # World feels like it's caved in -

proper sorry frown. # Please let me show you where we

:18:28.:18:32.

could only just be, for us. # I can change and I can grow or we

could adjust. # The wicked thing about us is we

always have trust. # We can even have an open

:18:37.:18:40.

relationship, if you must. # I look at her she stares almost

:18:40.:18:43.

straight back at me. # But her eyes glaze over like

:18:43.:18:46.

she's looking straight through me. # Then her eyes must have closed

:18:46.:18:49.

for what seems an eternity. # When they open up she's looking

:18:49.:18:54.

down at her feet. # Dry your eyes, mate.

:18:54.:18:58.

# I know it's hard to take but her mind has been made up.

:18:58.:19:05.

# There's plenty more fish in the sea.

:19:05.:19:09.

# Dry your eyes, mate. # I know you want to make her see

:19:09.:19:13.

how much this pain hurts. # But you've got to walk away now.

:19:13.:19:16.

# It's over. # So then I move my hand up from

:19:16.:19:19.

down by my side. # It's shaking, my life is crashing

:19:19.:19:22.

before my eyes. # Turn the palm of my hand up to

:19:22.:19:25.

face the skies. # Touch the bottom of her chin and

:19:25.:19:28.

let out a sigh. # 'Cause I can't imagine my life

:19:28.:19:30.

without you and me. # There's things I can't imagine

:19:30.:19:32.

doing, things I can't imagine seeing.

:19:32.:19:34.

# It weren't supposed to be easy, surely.

:19:34.:19:37.

# Please, please, I beg you please. # She brings her hands up towards

:19:37.:19:41.

where my hands rested. # She wraps her fingers round mine

:19:41.:19:42.

with the softness she's blessed with.

:19:42.:19:45.

# She peels away my fingers, looks at me and then gestures.

:19:45.:19:48.

# By pushing my hand away to my chest, from hers.

:19:48.:19:53.

# Dry your eyes, mate. # I know it's hard to take but her

:20:42.:20:48.

# And I'm just standing there, I can't say a word.

:20:49.:20:51.

# 'Cause everything's just gone. # I've got nothing.

:20:51.:20:53.

# Absolutely nothing. # Trying to pull her close out of

:20:54.:20:56.

bare desperation. # Put my arms around her trying to

:20:56.:20:59.

change what she's saying. # Pull my head level with hers so

:20:59.:21:02.

she might engage in. # Look into her eyes to make her

:21:02.:21:04.

listen again. # I'm not gonna fucking, just

:21:04.:21:07.

fucking leave it all now. # 'Cause you said it'd be forever

:21:07.:21:10.

and that was your vow. # And you're gonna let our things

:21:10.:21:13.

simply crash and fall down. # You're well out of order now,

:21:13.:21:16.

this is well out of town. # She pulls away, my arms are

:21:16.:21:19.

tightly clamped round her waist. # Gently pushes me back and she

:21:19.:21:22.

looks at me straight. # Turns around so she's now got her

:21:22.:21:25.

back to my face. # Takes one step forward, looks

back, and then walks away. # Dry your eyes, mate.
