Muse Reading and Leeds Festival

Hello there and welcome to the final show from a fantastic weekend

of live music at Reading 2011 and the last thing we are going to

share with you is our incredible headlines. The headliners all

weekend have been fantastic. My Chemical Romance were joined by

Brian May on stage on Friday, it was a brilliant set. We can't

forget about the Strokes who were fantastic, Jarvis Koblger got his

bump and grind on. The old snake hips. You are going to see the

mighty Muse. But before that, let's have a look back at Muse over the

years, this is their story. -- It all started in south Devon in

the early 90s where the future members of Muse met at college. Not

put off by Matt Bellamy's dress sense, he was spotted playing

guitar. About here where that brown patch is, is where me and Matt met

and I asked him to join my band. Persuading their mate Chris to join

them on the bass they formed a trio. Winning a local Battle of The bands

competition in 1994 convinced the lads they were on to something good.

Now they just needed a decent name. So gothic Plague and Fixed Penalty

gave way to Muse. Their early EPs were creating a

buzz here and across the pond, even the Queen of pop herself was a fan.

Madonna offered us a million quid then we gave up our day job! Debut

album show bisz arrived in 99, the same year they played Reading for

the first time -- showbiz. The following summer, the lads

headlined Reading's second stage and got a slot on Glastonbury's

other stage. Their second album, Origin of Symmetry stormed to the

charts in 200 1 and included Plug in Baby, their massive hit. The

album saw a change in direction for the band. We found our identity on

the last tour. Some of it is more uplifting I think, not so sort of I

hate the world type, a little bit more thought out than that I think.

As they moved up the chart, they moved up the bill at 2002's Reading

Festival. The next two albums Absolution and

Revelations saw the band graduate to global heavyweights. And in the

summer of 2006, the band fulfilled the dream when they headlined

Reading Festival for the first time. The gigs just came together,

everything was just bang on and you've got to bear in mind I used

to come here when I was a kid. I was looking at the crowd and

getting such a vibe, there are bands out there from the future you

know. Having realised their dream, the lads returned to where it began

for a special home-coming gig in 2009. More than 2,000 rock fans

queued to get tickets to see local group Muse.

Hot on the heels of their area, the band released their album which

went to number one in several countries. They returned and were

joined by a special guest. They are without doubt the power trio of

their generation. Fine praise indeed.

Not content with conquering this planet, this year, the band

announced plans to play a gig in space. But before that, Reading

Festival. Welcome back the simply out of this world Muse! This is the

moment that we've all been waiting for. We spoke to Matt and Dom

earlier on and they seemed really excited off the back of playing a

great set at Leeds, it all ends here, Reading sorry. This is the

moment we've all been waiting for. There's going to be flame throwers

and a lot of lasers and a lot of songs that you are going to

absolutely love. This is all summer celebration of their album Origin

disappointed we have not shown the entire Muse set. They did not feel

ready to show all the songs from that set, given they have not

awesome. It was a thoroughly enjoyable show. We will show you a

huge chunk of the Streets. This is their last summer of festivals,

playing as a band. It is something worth waiting around for. Now we
