Ask Look who it is, the actual Vaccines who came off stage what,

about half an hour ago? About that, yes. How was that for you? Felt on

top of the world. I can't remember it actually. You can't remember it?

It goes in a blur. It always happens that way, you kind of don't

know if you've had a good gig, then you drink more and more and then

you decide you've had a really good gig. Great. What is it about

Reading you love? You did the Radio 1 stage and then the step up, what

is the difference for you difference apart from more people.

You can't quantify that relationship either. People really,

really want to be at Reading Festival. We were just saying,

they've finished their GCSEs and A- levels or finals or whatever and

they're letting loose. I said this last year and now we can say it

again, it's one of the best ever gigs we have played and it's such a

good crowd. It's a celebratory feel to the crowd there, they are having

a great time and lapping you guys up, certainly. How does it feel for

you guys, you have been consistently touring for the last

18 months. Does that help boost you? We have a deeper connection

with each other, we perform better, definitely. It just feels like

coming back to the UK and playing a show within half an hour of where

we live feels like crossing the finishing line. I genuinely believe

that Reading and Leeds, all the British bands play the best shows

at those festivals because it's crossing the goal line of all of

the festivals that you have been doing and it feels like celebratory

and like home-coming really. It's a nice end to the summer? It is

indeed, yes. You have done a few foreign festivals as well. It blows

my mind that bands go around the world and wherever you go, people

are singing back your songs, it fub feeling amazing? It blows our minds

as well -- must be feeling amazing. We just got back from Korea and

there were people singing our songs, people that don't even speak

English! They were in our hotel and at the airport, unbelievable.

Obviously for a lot of people, this might be their first festival,

they've done their GCSEs, done really well, you might be one of

the first live bands they've seen. Can you look back and remember the

first time you went to a festival and remember the impact it had on

you? The first I went to was one in Denmark and there's just like, it

was all of my formative live experiences were all there. I'm

from Iceland, no bands come to Iceland, so I saw all the bands I

want to see at one festival. Yeah, it was incredible. Nothing in

particular, but the whole experience was just like mind-

blowing. Have you got festival mates now because you have done a

whole few summers? What are the bands you are chummy with? We have

got mates, but I always... LAUGHTER We have been asked this a

lot recently and I always feel nervous about name-dropping.

Because they might be watching and go, "I hate those guys". More

people are nice than nasty, put it that way. How daufl about doing

this again at Leeds? I literally cannot wait now. This has put my

mind at rest and I want it to be tomorrow already. I saw you on the

stage with the Shins and I asked how they were feeling and he was

overwhelmed. Yes, seeing how big the stage was and the magnitude of

it finally hit me and seeing how far up the bill we were. Yes, being,

watching the Shins and realising we were playing two or three hours

after a band that I grew up listening to was a strange

realisation. Good moment! Thank you very much for talking to us. Lovely

to see you again. Good luck with the album as well. It's out on my

birthday, 3rd September. I'll wait for the present at my office.
