Hello and welcome back the final part of Saturday at The Reading

festival and what a day it's been. We talked about Royal Blood. What

else? The acoustic was incredible up here. Right now, we are all about

one of the biggest bands on the planet, touring new album for

months. This is the final date. I cannot wait for this. And, before we

go to it, let's remind everybody of why they are so special.

Five number one albums, seven Brit Awards, 19 NMEs. These for pals from

Sheffield have become Britain's biggest rock'n'roll band.

They are global. We are act tick Monkeys, don't believe the hype. Do

believe them actually. They were at Reading in 2005. They

were catapulted into the Stratosphere. Their 2006 debut album

was launched. Stratosphere. Their 2006 debut album

The fastest sell debut album since chart downloads began. That same

year, they played the main stage. The gift for telling stories of

drink, dancing and teenage romance, the boys next door captured the

hearts of the public and critics alike. Bagging themselves the 2006

Mercury Music Prize. Somebody call 999. Pals since seven, the Arctics

were now on a roll. Follow up, worst nightmare followed and the band made

history with 17 hits in the top 100 at one time.

Late that year, they made their Glastonbury debut, headlining the

Pyramid stage, of course. Their success just kept coming.

Over the next four years, two more chart-topping records landed in the

shape of Humbug and Suck it Subpoena see. They played Reading at

2009. Thanks for having us. You have been exceptional.

-- suck it See. A sleeker, suited and booted Arctic Monkeys appeared

appeared in their adopted town of LA. You can ride your mopeds there.

Other than that, it's pretty much the same.

The finished record, AM, was revealed last September, full of

melody and huge hits. They are a band at the peak of their

power and tonight they are back to top the Saturday night bill at

Reading for their second time. What do they have in store? We'll just

What a great way to end the campaign on the latest album AM. That is

Arctic Monkeys headliner, Saturday night of The Reading festival.

Swagger! Where's the cheeky one gone. They went to the UEA and a

cheeky boy from Sheffield was on the stage. What a transformation.

Where's the spotty kid from the Cardiff Barfly? ! People are talking

about his hips and him being a smoothie. Sounding as slick as Alex

Turner's hair. I went out there to have a look at it. What was it like?

Great. Really, really good. It's a real sing-along crowd. Was it louder

in the crowd than the PA? At times. It was great. That's the

biggest crud of the weekend for sure on the main stage, as far as you

could see all the way back for Arctic Monkeys. Tim says this is an

absolutely killer set list from Arctic Monkeys holding the crowd so

well. Also one text saying, we are seeing

my sister lying on the floor in a puddle of love after seeing Alex

Turner. Not sure if that's a euphemism. Reading Leeds is the end

of the campaign for the latest album and what a way to finish. Hope you

Hello to Chris Howarth Arctic Monkeys fantastic tonight, wish I

was there but the coverage has been great. Bringing the festival into my

living room, thank you. Mikey Lee says almost skanking in my bedroom

because of BBC Three, sounding brilliant. And Lauren saying why

haven't I Ben to an Arctic Monkeys gig yet, it's on my to do list and

another person saying they've still got it. Of course they have.
