Ed Sheeran & Imagine Dragons T in the Park

Welcome back to night one of T in the Park 2014. We are live from

Balado. It has been a beautiful day. Not a single drop of rain. It is

gorgeous. We have our wonderful Ferris wheel. On the Main Stage, Ed

Sheeran is performing. Plus, Biffy Clyro live after 10.00pm. I don't

feel like we embraced the summer time vibe in our clothing. I have

sandy-coloured shoes on! T in the Park is not the hottest place on

earth. Tonight, it is beautiful. We will bring you as much of it as we

can. Earlier on, you met Imagine Dragons? I did. This band are quite

underrated as a live act. They drew a huge crowd earlier on. Before we

get their performance, you did a drumming thing with them? I did. I

showed off my drum skills. Let's see that drum-off.

Imagine Dragons, guess the song? Amazing(!) The tone was really

good(!) We wanted to make you feel at home here in Scotland. Welcome to

T in the Park. How are you doing? Great. It is a beautiful day. The

sun is out. There's drums. Everything I like in life. When you

played here last year you played in the King Tuts Tent. Now you are in

the sunshine? We are supposed to be at home doing our record right now.

Our manager was like T in the Park and we couldn't say no. So we are

here. King Tuts Tent was really hot last time. I'm thinking this will be

not, like, congested. There is something to be said for that, too.

What did you like so much about this festival? The energy. Insane amounts

of energy. From the second we walked on stage, to the second we walked

off, I was so exhaustively happy. It was so much energy. It was

uncharacteristically sunny last year as well. Do you think the weather

contributes to your performance? We bring the sun with us everywhere we

go. If you shut your eyes, it is like being on a desert. You have to

explain the sunglasses things. I wear my sunglasses always! That is

who I am. You are playing in winter in Northern Europe, the sun doesn't

come out for us! How is the recording of the record going?

Awful. Can we talk about something else? You had a British accent

there, almost! It's going really good. We are about halfway, kind of.

We are supposed to be doing it right now, as we speak. It's come a long

way. We have been writing over the years on the road, so we have a

tonne of material. Maybe it will have a Scottish tinge to it, like

kilts? You never know! There could be a Scottish theme that creeps in

here and there. Our bass player, his ancestors are Scottish. So am I!

I want to talk to you about your interview and the drum-off. You hit

the drum three times. I know. They were worried because they knew my

intense drumming skills. They weren't into it! Lauren says, "I

love the T in the Park coverage. Memories of 2012. Amazing." Also

Mary says, "I love Imagine Dragons. The whole drum things creates a

wonderful atmosphere." Very good. We need to rename BBC Three the Foxes'

Appreciation Society. This is the second time in a row she has come up

to the Tree House and done an acoustic performance. She was on my

radio show last week. This is Foxes from earlier today.

at T in the Park. You were stressed at Glastonbury. You seem much more

chilled out today. That set went very well. You feel pretty happy and

excited about playing in Scotland? Yeah, I have also done a whole load

more gigs since Glastonbury. Glastonbury was the first big

pressured one that everyone was going to see the new stuff at, sort
