Blind Auditions 3 The Voice UK

The Blind Audition is the most unique part of the process. Chairs

are facing away from the stage, we have no idea what is going on

behind us. We don't know what they look like, even if they are male or

female of the You can hear this big, huge soul voice, and turn around it

could be a small girl. You are just hearing the voice, and they are

singing their heart out, that is a beautiful way to go about it.

Four superstars are on a mission to find The Voice. Each coach is

looking for ten singers to put on their team. We have a mission, that

is to take her singers out and win. If more than one coach hits the

buzzer. We have to go, this is why you should, pick me! Come on!

the singer has to choose. This is so hard.

You better make the right choice, it could mess up your whole career.

You need to come here. So far Tom has six of his ten

singers. I'm trying to get as many different kinds of people as

possible so we are strong. I want to hear honesty and individuality.

Jessie has secured five. I have great talent, but I would love

another girl, with a big, big vocal. Danny has four artists on his team.

I have build the foundation of a good cake, I'm looking for cherries.

Williams has three? Everybody is looking for the same thing, I think

I have the ears, heart and gut to find it.

Tonight, as we hit the half way mark, the pressure is on. Next time

I ain't going to tell you all what to do. Don't trust people that wear

denim on denim. Time is running out to secure the

most talented vocalists. There is a lot at stake here.

So the coaches get themselves psyched up, made up.

And fired up for tonight's Blind Auditions. I wish I had eyes in the

back of my head. Only the most talented vocalists from across the

country have been invited. The first of them to face the coaches

tonight is 21-year-old Joelle Moses. She's desperate to step out of the

shadows and take centre stage. have been trying to make it for

about five years now, I have done backing vocals, for artists such as

Gabriel, Rihanna, Toni Braxton, it is a hard industry, it is hard to

get noticed and heard. It is a bitter sweet situation, it is

amazing to be doing these songs for these huge artists, but at the same

time, you kind of think, I wish that was my song.

I have tried working with anyone and everyone who will work with me,

I would love to be able to emulate their kind of success. I think this

could be my chance and opportunity to be able to shine and be in the

front, instead of working behind # There's a fire

Within the first couple of bars I was sold. I think you did fantastic

button, because she has so much knowledge on how to, because you're

things I was going, if she had done that, that is the whole point of

There are no second chances for Allyson Brown or Jessie. We are

who are phenomenal singers and come on stage and none of us turned

around. The hardest thing I find with the Blind Auditions is we can

only pick ten. I don't like the fact that if I hear somebody that I

can't pick them. It is different things that light

your fire. It is in the moment as well. It could have been a

different day or different song, all four of us turn around.

doesn't mean you are a bad singer, it really doesn't t means you

weren't what we were looking for on the day. This is the hardest part.

a singer and successful. I'm not working as a singer, I'm part of an

I suppose it is kind of like living the dream, it is something that not

everybody gets to do. I everything came to a stop with the passing of

my little brother. Cassius's younger brother, Vivian, died from

a heart condition, aged just 19. suppose I didn't recover from it,

in a sense. He wasn't Cassius no more, he was more the shadow, kind

of thing. I would give my all to get back into my career, my little

brother was a big fan of mine. I feel like I'm letting him down.

This is my way to make him proud again.

There is a lot of things I'm thinking about today, obviously

family, friends. My main focus is just to try to deliver it how I

What's been your big music career move to date? Before this I

actually had the opportunity to be on Top Of The Pops, I toured with R

Kelly, that was a big deal for me. This for you could be a big second

break. Yeah, definitely, I think it has that potential. I was in a

group before The Script, we had beige turn around in fortune, if

you are on my team, I believe that could happen for you too. I turned

around because there was something in your voice that I heard that I

really, really liked, there were little licks and thrills you were

doing that were nice. If you were on my team, I would hone in on the

upper range, the breathing, the way you hold the mic is wrong, I think

you have a listenable voice. So I have to make my choice now. Jessie,

there is something about you, it seems you want to teach me. If it

is down to teaching you things, every single one of us of us has a

whole back room staff that not only just Jessie can teach you. She gave

all her advice there, you might as welcome to me. Can I just say, one

thing, don't trust people who wear denim on denim! This is the great

part of the show, it is creative control, it is up to you, you can

go with Miss Bliing over there. I just say, he has four guys

already. I have no soul singers. I know I didn't turn around, Jessie

One thing about Danny, I didn't know this, he has been hanging out

on the studio with Farrell and the Timberlands, and he understands

production and songwriting, I didn't know that. It is unfair for

you guys to sit there and say how amazing and experienced Danny is, I

have been signed for seven years, I haven't just been around for a few

minutes. This industry isn't just about mic control and singing, it

is about someone who knows how to be serious and how to have a good

time, someone who knows how to own a stage, and who knows how to do a

really hope when I get out on stage that it goes exactly to the plan

next artist's singing dream comes off, another big day may have to be

I have had many a job, I have worked in old people's homes,

worked in banks, had a burger van. Ultimately it comes back to music,

that is what I want to do. I recently got engaged. Sasha's great,

she does a lot of silly things which are very funny, she's a bit

ditsy. We got engaged on Christmas Day 2010. We woke up, I just pulled

the ring out from under my pillow and said, will you marry me? It it

wasn't very romantic, I could have done it better. There is potential

that possibly The Voice will clash with my wedding day. We have

decided that if fingers crossed, one of the coaches turns around,

that? As much as I have been planning it for the last year and

How do you really feel? Honestly, I'm so excited for me. That is what

of the coaches? I haven't been singing for long, for a year now,

just teaching myself. I spend a huge amount of time sitting in my

room, singing. Just love it. To think that four worldwide

vocalists are going to hear me, it is, I just can't even explain the

feel, I'm getting sweaty palms just thinking about it. My mum is to me

my best friend, we're really close, she is the person that believes in

me most, she believes in me more than I believe in myself. I hope it

same. I'm Allys, I'm a mum of twins and I sing. Being a mum of twins is

full on. I wake up in the morning with both of them, they are with me

then until they go to bed. There is an hour where I can put them in the

high chair and they have food, I get on the piano and sketch out

some new songs. Being a mum is fantastic, but not

the most glamorous job, really, especially with two of them, I'm

usually in the house looking like an absolute mess most of the time.

It would be nice to have a bit of glamour in my life, really.

The most nervous I have been in my entire life, honestly, more nervous

than before I had my twins. Obviously this audition could

Sometimes the nerves get the better of you.

She was a great singer. Your nerves, because you're thinking, I wonder

what they are thinking, I wonder if they are liking it.

You know, that happens to everybody. That was the scariest thing I have

ever done, more scary than giving birth. And that's scary when you

have twins. I don't think I will ever be nervous again, really. No.

Now this artist has certainly been to the wardrobe maxed "rock star",

but in a blind aud diction does it match -- blind awed, does it match

his image. I haven't always sung rock at all, I was a choir boy from

10-14. It made me what I am today, I can't

really knock it. I'm so far away, physically and

vocally to what I was back then. But I can definitely still hit the

high notes. My heart is in rock music, but unless you want to be in

a band and be really skint, it is very hard, unless you are a rock

star, which is ultimately what I want to be. I'm ready to rock.

This audition is so important for me, you only get one chance to make

a first impression. I have never been scared before in

Hello. I thought you were a phenomenal singer, you have a great

range, absolutely great. This is so tough, because your

voice is ridiculous, and your range is, I mean, I literally was just on

that last note. It was incredible. It is the top, top C for anyone who

wants to know! For me, you only get 90 seconds to really show what you

have got, I felt I only heard one layer of what you can do.

best friend thought they would be singing together forever, last year

all that came to an end. My name is Tyler James, I'm 30 years old and

I'm a singer songwriter. When I was a teenager my best friend was Amy

Winehouse. We became friends when we were 12,

13, we both went to the same school. We have been best friends ever

since then. We were like two peas in a pod, we were like two halves

of the same person. Unfortunately last summer, worst day of my life,

Amy died. My whole life changed. Now she's here, she's here with me,

I know that. It is about me finding my own feet. The only way for me

Personally for me, I wasn't looking for anything else but that voice,

you don't really need to have power to show I emotion, one thing I came

on to the show to find was a unique voice, so when you heard it the

second on the it would stand out, I really believe you have that type

Team Danny. So in the hard world of music, miso

soup isn't impressing anyone. is more the girl I needed, that is

the voice I wanted. That was amazing. That girl could really

compete with the girls I have got. I pressed first, and Will copied me.

Danny tries to play psychological games, and I do, it is all about

strategy and tactics. After a night of exciting auditions that have

blown our coaches away, they are closer to completing their teams of

ten. For me it is coming from here. You are the bomb. Don't trust

people who wear denim on denim. far Will has recruited four new

vocalists, giving him seven all together. Right now I think my team

is really, really strong. While Danny has added four new name, he

has eight. It is going just as I planned. Jessie snapped up three

more singers and has eight. feeling very blessed with my team.

Tom found two more artists, he too has eight on his team. I'm very

pleased with the people I have got already.

Next week, our final artists take to the stage. You are the reason I

came on this show. Anybody with lungs like that has to be something.

The competition reaches fever pitch. We don't want to give any

strategies away. You need to stop stealing people that should have

been with me. Emotions run high. As the coaches battle it out to

complete their teams. I'm just looking for the two
