Last night, Team Tom and Team Will faced the first round of knockouts.

Their goal - a place in the live shows.

-The competition was fierce.

-Amazing.

-And the places were few.

With just three in each team able to go on...

And go live.

Tonight, it's Round 2 of the Knockouts.

As Jessie and Danny complete their live show line-up.

They have to choose the right song. I have to choose the right singers.

They're going to have to prove to me that they are the one

I take through to the live shows.

I think it's hard to make it original.

It's very easy to sound like everyone else that's sung it.

She wants me to do the best version of this song that I possibly can.

I'm annoying, sorry, but we have to get this right.

and came across the strongest for me and the most real was Trevor.

that Sarah's song choice tipped it by getting the crowd going.

I know you wanted to show off your voice with a ballad,

and I commend you for it,

but sometimes high-tempo just kicks its butt in a way as well.

Danny, you're my favourite, you know? But...

that wasn't good.

I looked over to Jessie, like, what happened there?

Just a guitar, and that's it?

Only percussion I heard was my head hitting the chair when I fell asleep.

One of the great things about knockouts is that I got to choose my own song.

What does this song mean to you?

At a young age, I was adopted.

As soon as he said that I was like, "Wow, the song's just brought on a whole other connotation."

I didn't get a chance to know my birth mother

but it's through music that I feel most connected to her.

I'm proud of him for being able to stand there

and sing a song like this. This is a chance for him to open up his soul.

This song means a lot to me and emotionally, there's a lot I can put into this performance.

I'm going to make the most of every single second that I've got on that stage.

I always get a really nice reaction. That's what I love about it.
