is 34-year-old Jamie Bruce,

who isn't afraid of a bit of hard work.

I'm a chef, a landscape gardener,

a builder and a carpet fitter.

I would rather work four or five jobs

to get an inkling of singing and music in my life

than devote my life to something that doesn't make me happy.

I think if it doesn't happen now, then that will be it for me.

Listening blind is a wonderful experience,

but we just don't know what to expect.

It's so hard, because we are literally facing the other way.

Everyone else is looking at who they are,

how old they are. We have no clue.

I'm surprised to turn around and just see one person.

I feel very excited and curious to be sitting there

and have somebody sing.

And that person should be able to

paint a picture of himself or herself.

It's about the voice, and there isn't a case of,

"You look pretty good. Maybe we can do something with you."

It really comes down to whether I've got the talent or not.

When I was a little boy, I wanted to be a recording artist

and it just so happens that life takes you

in a certain direction sometimes and I kind of fell into musical theatre

and in the West End by chance.

Having my son changed my life.

Before, I had troubles with...

alcohol and drugs...

..but I've moved past that in my life.

I am studying to be a midwife and that's something I've really

wanted to do since I had my little boy, Ruben.

I'm a dinosaur!

He's just everything to me, absolutely everything to me.

He saved my life, that's what he did.

I am doing this for Ruben. He showed me that anything is possible.

What you have to learn to do is use it as your strength

About 12 years ago we were in a band called Girls United.

So there was real pop.

I went off and sort of decided I didn't want to do music for a while,

We've grown so much,
