Tonight, the fight for a place in the knockouts intensifies.

And an even bigger moment for Kylie.

As the only coach with a steal left, the pressure is building.

I would like to back out of the decision.

Hello and welcome to The Voice.

It's round two of the battles.

Let's meet our superstar coaches.

Give it up for the coolest man in town, Mr Will.i.am.

The beautiful Kylie!

And the truly wonderful Ricky Wilson.

Everyone, we have our coaches.

Now, Kylie, you are the only coach left with a steal.

OK, Kylie won't give names so I reckon the sooner we start,

So first into battle, Team Ricky.

The whole point of the battle round is to bring out the best in people.

The ones that I thought were weaker have all stepped up.

They're learning off each other.

25-year-old Chris Royal had a secret weapon, his faultless falsetto.

Up against two other spinners, Ricky pitched them all out of the running.

I know you've got a great voice.

Former rock front man Jamie Lovatt went solo

and got the crowd on his side...

..and with Ricky and Kylie to choose between,

he opted for a fellow front man.

Chris and Jamie have got such different voices

but that is what this battle is all about,

it's just power versus emotion.

It's great to have Katy there because she comes at it from a different angle.

She knows what she's talking about.

To be a recording artist takes a lot, a lot of practice and a lot of hard work.

Once you realise that then nothing can stop you.

How do you feel about having to go up against him?

Obviously, no offence, but you are in the way of my dream, kind of.

It was the first time we got to hear each other sing properly.

My counteract to that falsetto is a rock'n'roll roar.

and it was really intense to watch.

It's like two things fighting each other that shouldn't be fighting each other.

They've both got it in them to kill.

so I need to prove to myself and Ricky

that I am the best guy to go through to the next stage of the competition.

I've never done anything like this before.

I just think we're very equally matched but in very different ways.

My battle advisor is my very good friend Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters.

He is kind of like this weird long-lost brother of mine.

We're both big showgirls.

What I can offer Team Kylie is my experience as a performer.

Performance is really where I shine.

What you both had in the audition was the emotion and this beautiful fragility

so it's really good to take a song like this and do something different with it.

Pretty nervous about Holy Grail.

My biggest challenge is putting my own spin on the song.

It's slow, it's dead soft.

My strength is my power and I can't do it in this song

and it's dead annoying.

You guys did a fantastic job with I think some really difficult material.

You basically got it.

Remember, just be very, very delicate.

They want to keep it simple and it's been really frustrating

because I know in my head how I want to sing it.

And at studio rehearsals, the girls tell Kylie what is needed.

But there are parts of the song that we want to sing bigger.

Yeah, to make it a bit more like oomph.

We can perform it through and see what you have.

# And, baby, it's amazing. #

The girls came in really determined to throw everything in there.

I didn't think that was the most sensible way

to get the most out of that song.

It's beautiful,

but I think you just need to be really choosy with where you show it off.

It's hard being a 16-year-old girl.

You can see their emotions are just brimming.

I got emotional on stage but getting advice from Kylie Minogue,

it's like, you've got to listen to it.

I've always been quite feminine so I get a lot of people that confuse me for a woman.

And that sound took him straight into Team Will.

I hadn't really considered James as somebody who would be paired with me,

probably because he is quite introverted.

I've been blessed with an amazing career so far

It's really exciting.

But there were a few problems within the song.

And we were trying to work out a way that their song could end

It just didn't work and I don't blame them

so I felt we had to change the song.

Um, I was in a band with my brother and then he became quite successful

and then I went to university and he got his lucky break

and I just didn't and so, yeah, I just don't perform any more.

On the day, you know, just make sure you're on top form

and, you know, you're confident.

It was a challenge to learn a new song, but I want this so bad.

I like it a lot. I'm a big fan of The Beatles so...

I recognise the song, but I don't know it that well.

Myles had a problem with this.

I was astonished by the fact that he didn't know the song very well.

We need to clear that one up.

and Max has got this confidence which is incredible.

You sound uber confident, right? And I like that a lot.

You just need to come out of your shell a bit more.

And I know it's not your fault. You haven't sung that much in public.

It will get better, but it's got to get better quicker.

To sum up the piano rehearsal for me - disaster.

I kind of feel a bit out of my depth.

As long as you don't think I was holding back

because I don't want it.

I know you want it and you know why I know you want it.

You're at a career crossroads.

I guess you know in your heart

this is definitely something that you wanted to do.

I didn't put myself forward for this show in the first place.
