'It's eight o'clock on Thursday 14th November...'

All across the Province, people are working hard.

Some are focused on turning a business idea into a reality.

Others are carrying on a family business.

In the early days of a new business, it's tough going.

It's hard work.

That's why the DUP wants to help business.

It was our ministers who introduced

the Small Business Rates Relief Scheme,

helping 25,000 businesses.

We're opening up new markets

and we're challenging the banks to improve lending.

In our health service, nurses, doctors and support staff

work around the clock.

In many cases, they go beyond the call of duty.

That's why we've recruited 500 extra nurses to ease the pressure.

We're spending £75 million on the hospital in Omagh.

£56 million on a cancer unit in Londonderry.

And over £200 million on the Ulster Hospital.

We've also introduced reforms to cut waiting times.

At schools all over Northern Ireland,

teachers work hard, educating our young people.

That's why we're fighting for school budgets.

That's why we've recruited 200 extra graduate teachers

to help improve numeracy and literacy.

Our universities and students are working hard, too.

That's why we've frozen university fees.

We're working hard to keep our brightest and best

in Northern Ireland.

We don't forget the young families who are working hard

to pay their mortgage. We know childcare is expensive.

That's why we're investing £10 million,

creating 8,000 affordable childcare places.

We've also ensured Northern Ireland has the lowest household taxes

in the United Kingdom.

The DUP has always stood up for our elderly.

It was our ministers who introduced free travel for older people.

Whether it's in Westminster, Brussels, Stormont

or your local government council,

the DUP is working hard to keep Northern Ireland moving forward.

This weekend, I'll join with hundreds of other DUP members

and supporters at our annual conference.

Our slogan will be "Working hard for Northern Ireland".

Over the next two days, we'll discuss matters such as jobs, housing,

education, health, dealing with the past

and a raft of other policy issues.

As poll after poll shows that the Union is safe,

we know there's no need to fight old battles.

The real battle for people is making Northern Ireland

the very best that it can be.

We're the only party with representation in Europe,

Westminster, Stormont and local councils.

Together, we work hard to get the best deal for Northern Ireland.
