Britain is fighting its way out of

the deepest recession in a generation...

..and daily life is getting more expensive

for families across the country.

Around the world, prices are rising

and countries are suffering economic collapse because they fail to act.

The last government spent like there was no tomorrow,

leaving us to pay the price for their mistakes.

But this government - a coalition forged at a time of crisis -

is taking the tough decisions today,

to do the right thing for the future

so that life will get better for ordinary people.

It's because of the Liberal Democrats

that a million of the lowest paid

will no longer have to pay income tax,

and ordinary workers are being given a £200 income tax cut

with more to come.

It's because of Liberal Democrats that banks are being taxed more,

forced to pay an extra £10 billion to help families and businesses.

In difficult times, we believe the priority for tax cuts

should be for those who need it most - not for the best-off -

and we think that is fair.

Liberal Democrats are leading the way in promoting green industry

to create jobs and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.

We're ensuring a quarter of a million more young people

will be starting apprenticeships.

And while sorting the problems of today, the Liberal Democrats

are also laying the groundwork for future generations.

We're providing more pre-school education,

more health visitors, more parenting classes,

and the Pupil Premium is investing billions in our schools.

There are big problems facing our country. Everybody knows that.

And fixing them won't be easy, but Liberal Democrats in government

are facing up to the difficult decisions to turn things round.

The Liberal Democrats have always stood for a strong economy

and a fair society.

We're a party for the whole nation - not just for vested interests,

or for the City of London.

So, at a really difficult time,

the Liberal Democrats are doing the right thing

for the long-term benefit of the country,

and for a better future for you and your family.
