It would take the worry out of paying my bills, basically.

You'd fill up a tank of petrol, which would be really helpful.

The gas, electricity, you know, these are...

To be a bit more comfortable, you know.

I would pay off some of the debt,

like, try and get out of our overdraft.

I could fall back on it if there were problems.

Car insurance, house insurance.

I don't think I WOULD spend it.

I think I'd put it away, and when I need it urgently,

obviously, then I'd get it out and use it.

How would you use an extra £600 per year?

What real difference would it make in your life?

Since the General Election,

the Welsh Liberal Democrats have been making sure

you get to keep more of the money you earn,

to spend on the things you need

by cutting the amount of income tax you pay.

From April, working people will be paying £600 a year less

than they were under Labour.

The mother working full-time on a minimum wage

has had her income tax bill halved.

The couple thinking about starting a family are paying £1,200 less.

And if you're one of the 100,000 people in Wales

working tirelessly in the lowest-paid jobs,

you no longer pay any income tax at all.

I think now...with the knowledge I had an extra £600 in my pay packet,

I would start to think very carefully

about not going to spend it on a whim.

I think, right now, I'd be setting it against the future costs I know,

particularly around domestic fuel and house insurance,

which I know are going to cost me more this year.

So, definitely, it's a positive thing.

Over the course of, say, a year, I would put it towards my savings

and eventually, you know, want to buy a property at some point,

so it would help a little bit to go towards that.

I would pay off the debts that I've got, actually,

so that I don't have to pay the interest on them,

which is...just as bad as having the debt, if not worse.

That would probably go towards heating costs,

and...the electrics gone up, gas has gone up. And food...

I think food's going to go up more.

So £600 will be a great help.

This will help so many people like myself and other families,

other individuals out there that are striving

and actually trying to contribute.
