Day two of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

:00:40.:00:49.

And this is what's coming up this afternoon.

:00:50.:00:56.

We'll bring you the final of the women's 10m air pistol final

:00:57.:01:01.

from Carnoustie. Old rivals meet in the netball, it's England v Wales.

:01:02.:01:13.

And it's set to be another terrific day in the velodrome, with a host

:01:14.:01:16.

Our first stop is the shooting and the women's 10m air pistol.

:01:17.:01:30.

The best hope for a home nations medal lies with

:01:31.:01:32.

The 20-year-old trains at home, standing in her shower and shooting

:01:33.:01:43.

through her bathroom and bedroom into the landing beyond, in order to

:01:44.:01:46.

Don't know much about shooting a pistol?

:01:47.:01:57.

In Glasgow, there are three pistol events for men, and two for women.

:01:58.:02:04.

In each event, competitors are given time to fire a certain number

:02:05.:02:06.

This is done from distances of 10, 25 or 50m.

:02:07.:02:10.

In all pistol events, the shooter will be standing, and the gun can

:02:11.:02:13.

Each target features ten concentric circles, with

:02:14.:02:21.

-- worth an increasing number of points.

:02:22.:02:23.

The centre of the target is worth ten.

:02:24.:02:25.

From the qualification round, the top eight competitors will move

:02:26.:02:27.

Except for the 25m rapid fire where only the top six will

:02:28.:02:35.

progress. The ten rings on the target will be subdivided into ten

:02:36.:02:38.

It is going to be terrific this afternoon.

:02:39.:02:53.

This is the Barry Buddon Shooting Centre at Carnoustie. 19 gold medals

:02:54.:02:56.

The first will be won this afternoon in the final

:02:57.:03:00.

India's Heena Sidhu is the hot favourite after winning

:03:01.:03:03.

David Currie is our man at Carnoustie, David, what stage

:03:04.:03:07.

Good afternoon. A wise man told me there are only three sports,

:03:08.:03:28.

hunting, shooting and fishing. Plenty of shooting, 19 gold medals

:03:29.:03:32.

to be won over five days. The first of which in the 10m pistol for

:03:33.:03:38.

women. And we have reached the final stage. One British representative in

:03:39.:03:48.

it, Coral Kennerley, from Wales, the 20-year-old. We join the final now

:03:49.:03:53.

after the sixth shot. I hand you over to our commentators.

:03:54.:04:03.

Two points behind Coral Kennerley, the 20-year-old from Wales. She will

:04:04.:04:09.

not want to go out at the moment. There was a lot of local support for

:04:10.:04:11.

coral. Heena Sidhu. Not in danger, but

:04:12.:04:15.

things can change with a poor shot. You can see the reaction, she is not

:04:16.:04:34.

happy with that. She is not informed today, that is

:04:35.:04:36.

for sure. Kiko with a 10.3, that is pretty

:04:37.:04:46.

good. Pretty high-quality shooting. For the next competition shot, load.

:04:47.:05:28.

Start. We need a 10.5 from her.

:05:29.:05:36.

Lalita Yahleuskaya. A little bit under par at the moment, we were

:05:37.:05:40.

expecting her to be further up the board. She needs a good school. --

:05:41.:05:51.

score. She takes her time, she never

:05:52.:05:57.

hurries her shooting. That is not going to be enough, I

:05:58.:06:04.

don't think. Another solid shot from the Welsh

:06:05.:06:08.

woman, Kennerley, and I think that will be that for the 28-year-old.

:06:09.:06:18.

They are all fairly nerdy, apart from the Australian.

:06:19.:06:30.

It is Armin Asha who has to leave at this stage. A long haul through

:06:31.:06:38.

qualification and she will be disappointed to leave so early.

:06:39.:06:44.

She has gained eight place at the Commonwealth Games.

:06:45.:06:50.

This is how it looks at the moment. Goel is opening up a useful leader

:06:51.:06:52.

from the Australian. Here is the 20-year-old who trains

:06:53.:07:06.

at home by putting one foot in her shower, shooting through the

:07:07.:07:10.

bathroom, bedroom and onto the landing to get that 10m distance!

:07:11.:07:19.

It is not unusual, I am told. She is seventh. She needs to pull

:07:20.:07:25.

herself up. She has 0.6 to make up on the person ahead of her from

:07:26.:07:31.

Singapore. Her debut to the Commonwealth Games,

:07:32.:07:35.

fantastic to get to the final. Let us keep her in. The coach likes

:07:36.:07:42.

that. Kiejko is shooting a 10.1.

:07:43.:07:51.

Malaika Goel is top of the pile at the moment.

:07:52.:07:56.

It is a good one. The highest score in that one was

:07:57.:08:05.

10.1. Kiejko moves up into second place

:08:06.:08:12.

ahead of Dorothy Ludwick. It is still Malaika Goel who is very

:08:13.:08:15.

solid. She is putting pressure on herself.

:08:16.:08:21.

She seems to be holding it together. The whole thing is to keep yourself

:08:22.:08:25.

solid, still. To have shoes which are flat and heavy.

:08:26.:08:31.

No other specialist clothing. When you get to this point, it is what is

:08:32.:08:36.

between the years! Who can hold it together.

:08:37.:08:43.

One more shot. Then we will know who has seventh place here.

:08:44.:08:58.

That is a good shot by Coral. Sidhu is one of the favourites.

:08:59.:09:12.

Well, that is a surprise, a real surprise.

:09:13.:09:16.

A turn-up for the books. One of the favourites, with a gold

:09:17.:09:22.

and silver from Delhi in this discipline.

:09:23.:09:36.

Goel is top. Sidhu is in all sorts of bother.

:09:37.:09:49.

Very, very tense here. Amongst the audience, amongst the shooters.

:09:50.:10:01.

Confirmed seventh place, from India, is Heena Sidhu.

:10:02.:10:07.

A little bit of confusion amongst the officials. Confirmed seventh

:10:08.:10:10.

place. She would have expected to be in the medals. The woman whose

:10:11.:10:18.

family have represented India. It is in her blood. She has to make way.

:10:19.:10:24.

A crushing disappointment for her. It will be. She would have been a

:10:25.:10:28.

big medal hope for India. To come out at this stage, she will be

:10:29.:10:31.

disappointed. That is the excitement of this new

:10:32.:10:36.

system. No chance to bounce back. You are on a level playing field

:10:37.:10:38.

before coming into this. Everyone comes into this final in

:10:39.:10:51.

the same place. I still have Malaika Goel.

:10:52.:10:57.

Coral Kennerley. Still in the petition after that really good

:10:58.:11:02.

under pressure last shot in the last series. 9.5.

:11:03.:11:11.

10.3 for the Singaporean, Tia, who is shooting exceptionally well.

:11:12.:11:30.

Here are the sisters who are third and fourth at the moment.

:11:31.:11:36.

The first of the two shots of this series. Ludwick macro is in good

:11:37.:11:51.

form. -- Ludwig. It is a random draw selection when

:11:52.:11:53.

it comes to the firing points. Crunch time to find out who will be

:11:54.:12:12.

eliminated as the sick place person in this final.

:12:13.:12:17.

-- six. Kennerley is under pressure. 9.5

:12:18.:12:36.

from her. Tia's has a 10.3, goodness me. --

:12:37.:12:41.

Teo. I know she wanted to go for a medal.

:12:42.:12:58.

Coral Kennerley, just 20 years of age. A fantastic performance. A

:12:59.:13:03.

brilliant performance. As you can hear, a lot of support.

:13:04.:13:14.

She has done fantastically well. She has senior and youth wild records.

:13:15.:13:21.

And a Commonwealth performance. Steve Pengelly, her coach.

:13:22.:13:33.

That shooting from the Singaporean has pushed her opponent into fourth.

:13:34.:13:50.

The margins are so narrow, it is so tense at this point.

:13:51.:14:03.

9.5 from her. Her sister has a 10.6. The form is coming from Dorothy

:14:04.:14:13.

Ludwick -- Ludwig. It could change with this last shot.

:14:14.:14:41.

Look at the breathing. Nerves make you breathe hard which is exactly

:14:42.:14:44.

what you don't want. They are trying to let out as much

:14:45.:14:47.

attention as possible. Let us hope that mum stays in a bit

:14:48.:15:01.

longer. The Canadians are very strong in

:15:02.:15:07.

this discipline. Kiejko shooting to stay in here. She needs a really big

:15:08.:15:08.

score. Oh, it is an 8.5. Oh, dear, that

:15:09.:15:27.

will seal her fate, I am afraid. It will indeed. A great shot by her

:15:28.:15:32.

sister, Dorothy. I am afraid that was a mistake too much.

:15:33.:15:38.

If it is any consolation, she returns to her two-week-old baby.

:15:39.:15:45.

What a feat to come here, get to the final and come fifth, having had a

:15:46.:15:50.

child only two weeks ago. Her dad, Bill, shot at two Olympics.

:15:51.:15:53.

It is in the family. that her and her sister it is very

:15:54.:16:13.

nip and tuck who comes out on top. She has won that battle, but she has

:16:14.:16:17.

to keep calm, she is top of the pile at the moment with the Australian,

:16:18.:16:23.

Lalita Yauhleuskaya, just behind. The Australian really has the

:16:24.:16:26.

experience behind her, she has been doing this for years and years.

:16:27.:16:30.

Today counts. What a story for her, born in

:16:31.:16:35.

Russia, went to Belarus, represented them at two Olympic Games, even when

:16:36.:16:40.

she was living in Australia she competed in since the -- in Sydney

:16:41.:16:47.

for Belarus then moved to Australia. She is a six time gold medallist. It

:16:48.:16:53.

is the Australian who is in ball of their -- who is in other there.

:16:54.:17:04.

Very tight, just 0.2. Between fourth and third.

:17:05.:17:15.

It is it is nip and tuck it really is.

:17:16.:17:24.

Well, this 25-year-old one of the older members of the Singaporean

:17:25.:17:29.

squad, believe it or not. 14th in Delhi, but she is shooting very well

:17:30.:17:31.

here. They are all shooting

:17:32.:17:37.

fantastically. On the scoreboard there is literally two points

:17:38.:17:40.

covering all four of them, which is really nothing at all.

:17:41.:17:46.

One like of composure, one twitch...

:17:47.:17:49.

Absolutely, can mean a fourth place as opposed to a gold medal.

:17:50.:18:13.

Malaika Goel is not that far away. 10.2 is a good start. Teo needs

:18:14.:18:15.

another one. 9.9 from the Aussie and 10.4 from

:18:16.:18:25.

Teo, and that will take into safety. It is the Australian that will be

:18:26.:18:30.

eliminated, Lolita lined -- Lalita Yauhleuskaya. Six Commonwealth gold

:18:31.:18:37.

medals, and Olympic Games bronze at Sydney, but she will not get a medal

:18:38.:18:41.

here. That is a real disappointment for her and you can see that.

:18:42.:18:45.

Yes, all of that experience and she has gained fourth place here which

:18:46.:18:48.

is a really good, but she will be disappointed.

:18:49.:18:51.

Dorothy Love wig is ahead and ahead by 0.5 points. Malaika Goel on 158.5

:18:52.:19:07.

and Shanxi Tour -- Shenjie Qieyang or -- Teo I'm third. -- in third.

:19:08.:19:15.

Now is the time to show just how come you can be under pressure.

:19:16.:19:19.

One point covers all of them, it is really anyone.

:19:20.:19:28.

Need a good first shot here, a marker. 1.24 liveweight. 9.24

:19:29.:19:41.

Malaika Goel. She is as cool as a cucumber! A

:19:42.:19:46.

couple of spectators in front of us are getting very excited. She is not

:19:47.:19:50.

excited, she is keeping calm. Even with those ear defenders in, they

:19:51.:19:54.

will know from the crowd reaction what is going on.

:19:55.:19:59.

They certainly will, yes. Teo top of the pile, and that is the

:20:00.:20:02.

first time she has been there. For a while she was flirting with

:20:03.:20:05.

elimination. They have screens in front of them

:20:06.:20:08.

so they can see how well each other is doing, so they know full well how

:20:09.:20:13.

they are all doing will stop having said that, there are still one point

:20:14.:20:18.

between all three. Teo with that leapfrogging shot,

:20:19.:20:22.

really. 10.9 is the closest you can get, 10.7 is very, very close.

:20:23.:20:26.

Extremely good. OK, who is going to get the bronze

:20:27.:20:33.

and who will hang on for the gold medal shoot out?

:20:34.:20:37.

Here is Malaika Goel, at the moment in third place in the bronze medal

:20:38.:20:40.

position. 0.5 adrift.

:20:41.:20:43.

10.2. She shot a nine, Lord Wakeham, and

:20:44.:20:56.

she drops down into the bronze medal position.

:20:57.:21:01.

-- Dorothy Ludwig. Goel hangs on to fight another day. Dorothy Ludwig

:21:02.:21:05.

gets the bronze, the 35 and old from Renfrew in Canada. -- 35-year-old.

:21:06.:21:14.

She will be happy to get a medal, she will be a little disappointed it

:21:15.:21:18.

did not turn into silver or gold. To be knocked out on that last shot

:21:19.:21:23.

must really hurt. Absolutely, that was a fantastic

:21:24.:21:26.

effort and I know she will be absolutely over the moon. That is

:21:27.:21:30.

how it looks at the moment, everyone else eliminated our Shun Teo Xie and

:21:31.:21:37.

Malaika Goel. -- beside Shun Teo Xie.

:21:38.:21:46.

They have such a history in the Commonwealth Games, 52 going into

:21:47.:21:47.

Glasgow, 2014. Two shots. Between these athletes and old. --

:21:48.:21:54.

gold medals. A readjustment from Goel, plenty of

:21:55.:22:15.

time. Teo first to shoot, 9.9. What can the Indian do? She is

:22:16.:22:19.

taking a lot of time here. Still waiting, 15 seconds to go. This is

:22:20.:22:24.

getting a little bit tight. Waiting for this shot to go away, 80 seconds

:22:25.:22:29.

now, she has to get it away quickly, and she does, and it is a 9.2.

:22:30.:22:35.

Well, that's just put a little bit of clear water between Teo and

:22:36.:22:42.

Malaika Goel. Absolutely, right from the beginning

:22:43.:22:45.

the Indian has been pushing a right to the end.

:22:46.:22:48.

Does she have a problem with that done? She is certainly fiddling with

:22:49.:22:51.

it. Yes, she seems very uncomfortable

:22:52.:22:55.

about it all. The pressure is getting to her, she cannot even get

:22:56.:22:56.

her hand into that grip comfortably. Well, this is a comfortable

:22:57.:23:09.

difference, 1.5 points it will take, and it will take a big lack of

:23:10.:23:13.

composure from the Singaporean not to take the gold medal.

:23:14.:23:17.

We were thinking some of the emerging nations might cause of

:23:18.:23:19.

surprise and this could be it. Last shot of this ten metres air pistol

:23:20.:23:28.

final for women. It is Teo's to throw away. Just needs a solid

:23:29.:23:34.

shot. Ten from Goel.

:23:35.:23:40.

And that is enough! Shun Teo Xie of Singapore will take

:23:41.:23:46.

the gold in the ten metres air pistol for women. She says she loves

:23:47.:23:54.

intense mental discipline and focus, and she has shown that throughout

:23:55.:24:00.

this final. World ranked at just 70, but she has come through and shown

:24:01.:24:03.

what she is made. She has indeed, she has come it on top, held herself

:24:04.:24:08.

together and she is Victoria. Well done. The Singaporeans in front

:24:09.:24:12.

of me are on their feet, they can hardly believe it. The coach is

:24:13.:24:16.

absolutely delighted. Disappointment for Malaika Goel, the 16-year-old,

:24:17.:24:21.

but goodness me I am sure we will see her again, as well. What

:24:22.:24:25.

potential that young lady has, 16 years old and a silver medal at the

:24:26.:24:30.

Commonwealth Games. Gold medal for Shun Teo Xie, 14th in

:24:31.:24:38.

Delhi, first here. That was a terrific performance from

:24:39.:24:48.

Singapore's Shun Teo Xie, the silver medal goes to India and Canada's

:24:49.:24:56.

Dorothy Ludwig gets the bronze. Coral Kennerley bringing us our

:24:57.:25:01.

first dose of the Courage the gun show and she has been talking to

:25:02.:25:03.

David Kelly. I was really happy to make the

:25:04.:25:07.

final, I would have liked to shoot better, I have shot better than that

:25:08.:25:11.

in the past, but I am at the Commonwealth Games, cannot be

:25:12.:25:12.

happier. I was watching you in the final and

:25:13.:25:17.

you looked very relaxed, where you? No, definitely not! I was quite

:25:18.:25:21.

nervous, it is a scary situation to be in.

:25:22.:25:26.

Tell me, legend has it that you practice with one foot in the

:25:27.:25:30.

shower, shooting across the landing? How does that work crash at yes, I

:25:31.:25:35.

could not drive and I used to practice at home, the only place

:25:36.:25:39.

with ten metres was upstairs so I used to shoot from the bathroom

:25:40.:25:43.

through the landing it was the only place I could train.

:25:44.:25:45.

The Commonwealth Games are not over for you, you are back in action

:25:46.:25:46.

tomorrow. Yes, I have 25 metre 0.2 to pistol

:25:47.:25:53.

tomorrow morning, have to get ready for that one.

:25:54.:25:56.

I will try and make the final again, that would be good. Two finals at

:25:57.:26:00.

the Commonwealth Games, I am happy with one but we will see how it

:26:01.:26:09.

goes. -- 0.2 to pistol. -- 0.22 pistol.

:26:10.:26:11.

David Comock in the last two years in doing this job I have interviewed

:26:12.:26:15.

many sports stars I don't think I have ever heard of a training regime

:26:16.:26:18.

like Coral Kennerley's! I tell you what, that could be very

:26:19.:26:23.

dangerous, particularly if you are mum or dad doing the hoovering. I

:26:24.:26:28.

think she has moved on from that, she is now saying she is able to be

:26:29.:26:31.

driven to training and I don't think she still uses that rather unique

:26:32.:26:36.

training methodology. Just one question on Heena Sidhu,

:26:37.:26:39.

she was the hot favourite going into this, what happened?

:26:40.:26:46.

Well, she did not win! She is ranked fourth in the world. In the course

:26:47.:26:50.

of my reset before this everyone was tipping her for the gold medal. She

:26:51.:26:55.

had been world number one earlier this year, down to fourth, and she

:26:56.:26:59.

was the hot favourite. In the end, she just did not perform on the

:27:00.:27:03.

day. As you can probably see, it is a very tense competition here.

:27:04.:27:08.

Concentration is of the utmost and she just did not do it on the day.

:27:09.:27:13.

What a start for Singapore, they have won their first middle of the

:27:14.:27:20.

Games and it is gold. -- first medal.

:27:21.:27:23.

It is indeed come and to think that wasn't expected, as you mentioned

:27:24.:27:26.

the Indian sugar was the hot favourite. Perhaps we thought Coral

:27:27.:27:29.

Kennerley would get perhaps the bronze medal. I spoke to her earlier

:27:30.:27:34.

and she thought getting to the final was a good enough achievement for

:27:35.:27:37.

her and he had another crack at it again tomorrow in the 25 metre.

:27:38.:27:43.

Many congratulations to Singapore, are very proud day there at

:27:44.:27:47.

Carnoustie. David you very much indeed. From

:27:48.:27:49.

shooting we will now turn our attention to netball. England have a

:27:50.:27:53.

very big game tomorrow against Australia. Just across the bridge at

:27:54.:27:58.

the SECC. Before that they take on Wales. If England are to break the

:27:59.:28:03.

domination of Australia and New Zealand in the netball, they have to

:28:04.:28:06.

do it without their inspirational captain, Pamela Cookey.

:28:07.:28:11.

Don't get me wrong, I have my moments where you just think life is

:28:12.:28:19.

not fair, wide? ! This was going to be an awesome year, our squad was

:28:20.:28:22.

looking so good, we were so prepped and ready for it, so why now? But I

:28:23.:28:28.

have to be positive otherwise I cannot come back, if I go into

:28:29.:28:32.

myself and let it get on top of me it is not good for anyone. When it

:28:33.:28:35.

first happened on court I thought someone had kicked me. I thought, I

:28:36.:28:39.

have just been hit, with some ice on it and I will be good to go. The

:28:40.:28:45.

physio looked at it and said, I think you have snapped your

:28:46.:28:49.

Achilles. The reaction has been a bit crazy, a whirlwind. I have had

:28:50.:28:56.

so much support, goodwill messages and get well soon, and I think, I am

:28:57.:28:59.

single important! If that makes sense. -- I am kind of important. I

:29:00.:29:06.

think it would not do the team's feelings for you justice or your

:29:07.:29:10.

leadership skills justice to say it was easy for us to deal with. It has

:29:11.:29:14.

not been and I think our true leader is missed and you should know that.

:29:15.:29:18.

However, I think the way that we intend to deal with that is that

:29:19.:29:22.

everyone just has to pull their weight. I think it is easy for the

:29:23.:29:28.

team come especially for us as individuals, to sit back and to

:29:29.:29:31.

allow your leadership skills at your experience and your just some

:29:32.:29:37.

netball and abilities to take over. We're not going to be that England

:29:38.:29:41.

team for now until you come back. Then we will let you do everything

:29:42.:29:44.

again! You're one of the best captains I

:29:45.:29:47.

have ever been under. You're one of the best, and we will miss you,

:29:48.:29:52.

obviously. I will miss you, as one of my my close friends. As a team

:29:53.:29:55.

come in terms of what we have, Kadeen Corbin has a massive

:29:56.:30:00.

opportunity now. She moans and moans, well, now is her chance, you

:30:01.:30:06.

want that, go and take it. We have always tried to tell ourselves that

:30:07.:30:11.

we don't need our hands to be held. When you step on court it is

:30:12.:30:12.

we don't need our hands to be held. When you step on about you doing

:30:13.:30:13.

your job and making it work. When you step on about you doing

:30:14.:30:15.

your job and making it Having the little high-fives and the taps and

:30:16.:30:21.

during each other up, we are a team and we do stay in our bubble. We do

:30:22.:30:25.

not have an Olympics are so we put everything into the Commonwealth

:30:26.:30:27.

Games. But this year in Glasgow everyone is

:30:28.:30:31.

so pumped and excited for it. My gosh, we are excited, I was really

:30:32.:30:37.

pleased to go to Delhi in 2010 and it is the best memory have ever.

:30:38.:30:41.

It is awesome, being part of a bigger team is so good, because we

:30:42.:30:44.

are always really excited about meeting everyone. We are always

:30:45.:30:51.

like, hello! We don't know them. Pretending we are best mates.

:30:52.:30:54.

Jessica Ennis-Hill! Hello! But it is good to be part of team

:30:55.:30:58.

England, because you will get the same kit, you get the same area in

:30:59.:31:05.

the athletes' village, you see them at mealtimes and use what celebs

:31:06.:31:10.

like Usain Bolt and other people. -- you spot celebs.

:31:11.:31:14.

To be part of a big, international, global event is a special

:31:15.:31:18.

opportunity and the fact it is almost on home soil...

:31:19.:31:22.

Node jet lag! Exactly, that is awful. It exactly quite nice to be

:31:23.:31:28.

focusing on the netball side of things. I think it will be a

:31:29.:31:33.

fantastic experience for everyone and I am sure we will see, you will

:31:34.:31:38.

be up there supporting us as part of the experience, as well.

:31:39.:31:41.

It is really weird to watch it, I just want to get out of there and

:31:42.:31:45.

play. But then I look at my boot and I know that I can't. It is nice to

:31:46.:31:48.

be able to watch the girls and support them and give them

:31:49.:31:51.

encouragement. Love you, Babe.

:31:52.:31:53.

Cut! She is going to be a big loss. It

:31:54.:32:05.

seems like a remarkable team spirit. Lots of fans have been making their

:32:06.:32:09.

way across the river into the SECC which is where we are heading now.

:32:10.:32:15.

Lots of good competition. We're going to concentrate on

:32:16.:32:27.

Pool B. Wales, who lost against Australia

:32:28.:32:28.

yesterday, are up against an England team wanting to prove themselves

:32:29.:32:31.

and show Australia and New Zealand Your commentators are

:32:32.:32:34.

Charlie Brougham and Anita Navin. This is all Britain clash gets

:32:35.:32:56.

England's campaign under way. Wales have already played one, losing to

:32:57.:32:57.

Australia. Lovely skill. And it falls for

:32:58.:33:07.

Corbin. She scored another goal. The error in the shooting circle

:33:08.:33:29.

from Wales gives possession back to England. England face the might of

:33:30.:33:42.

Australia tomorrow morning. A very strong starting seven here.

:33:43.:33:54.

Nine passes, credit to Wales, they have put pressure on, mid-court.

:33:55.:34:00.

Possession lost, a costly error. Morgan, in possession for Wales.

:34:01.:34:05.

Some good, defensive pressure by the Welsh.

:34:06.:34:13.

You get a sense that Mentor is looking for that long ball

:34:14.:34:22.

delivery, characteristic of what she did down under for her team.

:34:23.:34:31.

Harten makes a little mistake from distance. England have an eight goal

:34:32.:34:40.

lead already. A better shot with plenty of height.

:34:41.:34:47.

That will be the final play unless Harten can put this away. She can,

:34:48.:34:54.

she picks up the rebound, this is on the second attempt. The end of the

:34:55.:35:01.

first quarter. England have dominated. Wales are struggling to

:35:02.:35:05.

find their shooting boots in the first ten minutes.

:35:06.:35:21.

A late take off, James trying to gain some ground. Ball placement for

:35:22.:35:38.

Wales in the mid-area. Morgan, Pritchard elected to hold back.

:35:39.:35:43.

Harten has moved out. Quick reactions from Harten.

:35:44.:35:55.

The second phase, proving costly to England. The pressure is on from

:35:56.:35:59.

Wales. Strong communication from Prichard macro.

:36:00.:36:03.

-- Prichard. Harten trying to find her shooting

:36:04.:36:24.

partner. A good pass. A great turn of speed from Kadeen

:36:25.:36:29.

Corbin, using that goal line run. The final ten seconds of the half.

:36:30.:36:37.

For Wales, just three goals, very disappointing.

:36:38.:36:45.

She can't. That is the end of the half. A great ball to Kadeem Corbin

:36:46.:36:50.

but not a great end product. England are firmly in control, they lead at

:36:51.:36:51.

half-time. The second half is under way.

:36:52.:37:05.

Wales, they need a massive improvement. Just the three goals in

:37:06.:37:14.

the 15 minutes of play. What do you think the respective coaches said at

:37:15.:37:22.

half-time, let us start with Wales? With wholesale changes, it is about

:37:23.:37:26.

refocusing and treating this second-half as almost a new game. It

:37:27.:37:34.

is about ball placement for Wales, being more consistent and looking

:37:35.:37:39.

for the options. The priority is to create the options and ensure there

:37:40.:37:45.

is preparation. England now leading by 20. Rachel

:37:46.:38:00.

Dunn gets her first shot on target. Sara Bayman has been penalised.

:38:01.:38:09.

It has gone against Mentor. She thought she had time to her touch.

:38:10.:38:16.

Some good tracking by Francis, almost thought she could come away

:38:17.:38:20.

with that ball. A good recovery by Wales. James, the shooter.

:38:21.:38:37.

Bethan Dyke, out of bounds. England are putting a lot of

:38:38.:38:47.

pressure on the second phase of the Welsh Centre pass. Letting that ball

:38:48.:38:54.

go out. That was lovely play from Harten. A

:38:55.:38:57.

good understanding by the trio. A good rebound by Myddleton but

:38:58.:39:11.

straight into the hands of Sara Bayman.

:39:12.:39:17.

Going through one of those rocky patches, aren't we? Handling errors.

:39:18.:39:24.

That was interesting. Harten putting it through.

:39:25.:39:30.

England's best quarter so far. Harten trying to tip it in on. That

:39:31.:39:47.

is the three quarters time whistle, another dominant quarter for

:39:48.:39:56.

England. They have won it 19-5. The scoreline is heavily in England's

:39:57.:40:02.

favour. England get this final quarter under

:40:03.:40:06.

way. Attacking on the right-hand side. A healthy lead over Wales.

:40:07.:40:15.

Plenty of changes. Helen Housby, into the action straight away. A

:40:16.:40:17.

magnificent season. She doesn't score at her first

:40:18.:40:37.

attempt but Rachel Dunn follows up. Is this to be her first goal in an

:40:38.:40:44.

England dress? Oh, no. A look at the umpire. Hoping for the call.

:40:45.:40:53.

Good work from Dyke. Good to play. Great transition through the court

:40:54.:41:01.

for Wales, a deserved goal, they will be pleased with that passage of

:41:02.:41:03.

play. The entire squad has been used in

:41:04.:41:17.

this match. You would probably expect that in terms of the

:41:18.:41:22.

opponents, expect the coach to get a sense of where these players are

:41:23.:41:27.

wrapped. In terms of the long lead in period to this Commonwealth

:41:28.:41:31.

Games. Some late additions at different points.

:41:32.:41:45.

Chatting their, Prince Edward. -- there.

:41:46.:41:53.

Wales will be back in action tomorrow against Trinidad and to be.

:41:54.:42:00.

A day off, then Barbados, before they wrap up against South Africa.

:42:01.:42:12.

Then we go into the classification matches. Rachel Dunn makes it a 40

:42:13.:42:26.

points game once again. The final second. That is the end of the

:42:27.:42:31.

match. And England have put Wales to the sword, they have beaten

:42:32.:42:36.

uncomfortably by 40 points, dominating throughout.

:42:37.:42:42.

England were too strong. A great start for England winning

:42:43.:42:58.

against their old rivals, Wales. Wells lost yesterday against

:42:59.:43:02.

Australia. Tomorrow, they take on Trinidad and Tobago. England are

:43:03.:43:07.

focused on taking on Australia. If they are to win a medal, they really

:43:08.:43:12.

have to send out a big message to Australia and New Zealand.

:43:13.:43:27.

Plenty more to see from the Games. Australia and New Zealand.

:43:28.:43:34.

Lots of track cycling from the velodrome. If you want it right

:43:35.:43:39.

now, this is live, you can go on the Red Button. Every sport here at

:43:40.:43:45.

Glasgow 2014 is available on the BBC Sport website. Don't forget there is

:43:46.:43:54.

also full coverage on BBC radio five live. We are heading to BBC1.

:43:55.:43:59.

Goodbye.
