A great start for Great Britain. Kyle Edmund winning the first set.

:00:52.:01:04.

Showing finesse, as well, taking a 2-0 set lead.

:01:05.:01:11.

He has done it. He has done it in style. If he can do it, what a

:01:12.:01:25.

position that puts Britain in. That is a very brisk first set. One

:01:26.:01:38.

rubber apiece. The only people singing in the rain in Belgrade have

:01:39.:01:44.

been the Stirling University students, you cannot dampen the

:01:45.:01:48.

spirits stop the weather has played up with so Great Britain in the

:01:49.:01:52.

Davis Cup. We had two matches completed stock Kyle Edmund, super

:01:53.:01:59.

performance against the very experienced young kids are James

:02:00.:02:10.

Ward beaten. Coming up we have the doubles, Jamie Murray and Dom Inglot

:02:11.:02:20.

for Britain. We had just had their partners confirmed. In the other

:02:21.:02:28.

matches, we can see, as far as Italy and Argentina are concerned, 1-1.

:02:29.:02:33.

France just winning their double match against the Czech Republic.

:02:34.:02:42.

The USA 2-0 up against Croatia. The Bryan brothers playing for the

:02:43.:02:48.

United States, to see if they can win that one and go through to the

:02:49.:02:53.

semifinals. If you have not been watching on BBC Two, James Ward

:02:54.:02:55.

defeated by low the server number one. No Novak, but

:02:56.:03:10.

it's risky. So much expected, and he did deliver. Jamie and John are with

:03:11.:03:23.

me. Talk about Ward, did not get into that one. Did not have any

:03:24.:03:30.

answers. He looked like a player out of confidence, not many wins this

:03:31.:03:34.

year. Did not have enough variety. His opponent iterating the points,

:03:35.:03:40.

moving him around. Getting the ball up nice and high. A lot of bad

:03:41.:03:46.

errors on serve. Even he played his best, he would have struggled, and

:03:47.:03:51.

he was way below his best. He would have been disappointed. To me, he

:03:52.:03:57.

looked mentally like gave up a little bit, a little bit too soon.

:03:58.:04:03.

Disappointing performance. Confidence is such a big thing. We

:04:04.:04:08.

have seen before, he can raise his game. Does not have the confidence.

:04:09.:04:16.

You can see at the start of the first set, his whole demeanour was

:04:17.:04:22.

of someone really struggling with the confidence. Not winning many

:04:23.:04:27.

matches this year. He has got out of the winning feeling. But let's talk

:04:28.:04:36.

about Lajovic, established clay-court player, played a lot in

:04:37.:04:44.

Italy growing up. He was using the spin, the backhand down the line

:04:45.:04:48.

getting water into the forehand corner, he had no answer. You how to

:04:49.:04:52.

salute Lajovic, he played well. Whatever happened in the doubles, it

:04:53.:04:58.

could go down to the third and fourth match. It will be a big job

:04:59.:05:04.

for Leon Smith to lift James Ward, he will be very disappointed.

:05:05.:05:15.

It could go down to the fifth match, and James Ward mayhap to win it. Tip

:05:16.:05:32.

as far as Kyle Edmund is concerned, he would have been a interested

:05:33.:05:43.

spectator. Kyle has the weapons that James does not have. He will know it

:05:44.:05:50.

will be a tough match. We thought it was Kyle's time to step up.

:05:51.:05:53.

Everybody looking at Andy Murray to carry the team through. Whatever

:05:54.:05:57.

happens in the doubles, two matches in a row for Kyle, the first one, he

:05:58.:06:05.

had to win. Coming into play Lajovic, how James Ward played to

:06:06.:06:09.

date, another one where you are thinking, come on, we need you to

:06:10.:06:19.

pull us through. Take a Tipsarevic not at his best. But you cannot take

:06:20.:06:24.

anything away from Kyle, hitting so well into the corners. Conditions a

:06:25.:06:29.

lot better today. Some winners, nothing like Kyle Edmund. The tennis

:06:30.:06:36.

balls were so heavy, yet we could see him striking winners from all

:06:37.:06:39.

over the court. The forehand was magnificent. Let me tell you, on

:06:40.:06:47.

that form, he's dangerous on clay. 50-50 match. Maybe Kyle might be a

:06:48.:06:53.

slight favourite. Talking about the weather, hopefully it will get

:06:54.:06:57.

better. They were watering the court, trying to take away Kyle's

:06:58.:07:02.

weapons. If it will get drier, he will be laughing. The biggest

:07:03.:07:07.

difference in the match against Tipsarevic was the pace of the shop.

:07:08.:07:12.

Looked like Tipsarevic was not ready for that. Spending time out of the

:07:13.:07:17.

game. Not the case against Lajovic, very experienced, he has had some

:07:18.:07:22.

big wins, he has been to the fourth round at Roland Garros. Much more

:07:23.:07:28.

even matchup. Kyle will still have the same impact with the forehand,

:07:29.:07:34.

good to see what Lajovic has got, is better wing is the backhand wing.

:07:35.:07:39.

Although Andy Murray is there is the chief cheerleader, Kyle is the

:07:40.:07:44.

British number one, how will he feel with the situation? Only his second

:07:45.:07:49.

Davis Cup tie, and the answer is incredibly well. He has been thrown

:07:50.:07:55.

in the deep end. First match making his debut in the final. Playing

:07:56.:07:59.

extraordinarily well, even though he did not win. Now grown into a

:08:00.:08:04.

quarterfinal, knowing he has to win two singles. Boy, did you deal with

:08:05.:08:11.

it well yesterday. Vague reason to suggest he won't do with it well

:08:12.:08:15.

tomorrow. Coming up to date the all-important doubles match, Great

:08:16.:08:21.

Britain winning five of their last six, and Jamie Murray has become a

:08:22.:08:31.

key member of the team. So. This time Jamie Murray takes the starring

:08:32.:08:39.

role. The doubles is done, Andy Murrays have won. That is it,

:08:40.:08:47.

winning blow delivered by Jamie Murray. Great Britain are in charge

:08:48.:09:00.

of this world group tie. There could have been a wall in the way, would

:09:01.:09:07.

not have stopped Jamie. It is out, the marrieds win, 2-1 Great Britain.

:09:08.:09:20.

-- the Murrays win. They have given us some thrilling moment in the

:09:21.:09:25.

doubles. This time Jamie not playing with his brother, he's playing with

:09:26.:09:28.

Dom Inglot. He has been talking to Russell. You have not played that

:09:29.:09:36.

any matches with Dom Inglot, how will that work? We've played Davis

:09:37.:09:43.

Cup against the States last year. We lost a long five set match to the

:09:44.:09:48.

Bryan brothers. We have played a lot of good tennis. Hopefully we can

:09:49.:09:56.

team up again, with that same level of performance. Always a good

:09:57.:10:02.

partnership with your net deals and his big serve. That staff obviously

:10:03.:10:12.

works well. -- net skills. It is finding the return game together.

:10:13.:10:17.

Putting enough balls in play to keep putting pressure on your opponent to

:10:18.:10:25.

come up with some good stuff. If we can do that, we will be a dangerous

:10:26.:10:30.

team. Nice having your brother making a noise on the sidelines is

:10:31.:10:36.

not it is cool he came out. The last few days must have been pretty

:10:37.:10:40.

hectic for him, all of the post-Wimbledon staff. It is cool to

:10:41.:10:46.

support the scene, definitely. We think it is cool as well. Such a

:10:47.:10:51.

good doubles player. Wonderful to win his first grand slam Men's

:10:52.:10:56.

Doubles, to add to the Mixed Doubles. Getting very emotional at

:10:57.:11:04.

the Australian Open. Jamie was an amazing junior in the singles.

:11:05.:11:09.

Ending up not quite happening. There were a few times when he considers

:11:10.:11:15.

stopping playing. Started to play more and more doubles, develop his

:11:16.:11:20.

game. Even from a very young stage, he has these world-class volleys.

:11:21.:11:25.

Great to see what a career here is made. It is the Mixed Doubles that

:11:26.:11:30.

catapulted him in. In Australia, great to see, and Andy supporting

:11:31.:11:35.

him. Even though he was playing the final. So consistent. We are seeing

:11:36.:11:44.

players playing until they are 38, 39, 40. He's still young man. Had

:11:45.:11:50.

some really good partnerships, hopefully a long career ahead. You

:11:51.:11:55.

know him well, he has been world number one, that meant a lot.

:11:56.:11:59.

Slipping a bit of the Wimbledon. That has been important. Getting one

:12:00.:12:07.

over his younger brother. As Jamie says, remarkable how he has come up

:12:08.:12:11.

in the doubles. Some of his technique in the doubles, he

:12:12.:12:16.

struggles on the return on the forehand. Second serve, it has

:12:17.:12:22.

improved. He has world-class volleys. They want better at

:12:23.:12:28.

reaction volleys. Finding a way to manoeuvre himself around, so he's

:12:29.:12:34.

dangerous. He is world number one, he has won slam. He believes in

:12:35.:12:41.

himself, fabulous Sisi. We saw some moments in the Davis Cup. With

:12:42.:12:45.

insanely matches. Now not with his brother, Andy. The record,

:12:46.:12:53.

incredible. Only one defeat in six, and that was the Bryan brothers.

:12:54.:13:00.

He's a world-class in the doubles. If Andy Murray was to play doubles

:13:01.:13:05.

full-time, he would be in the top five, without question. Perfect

:13:06.:13:09.

partnership, Andy is the best return, maybe apart from Djokovic.

:13:10.:13:15.

The only thing with Dom Inglot and Jamie Murray, the return of serve,

:13:16.:13:20.

maybe they are not as strong as with Andy on the court. It is a dream,

:13:21.:13:30.

nation. And sets up Jamie, he does what he does so well at the net. If

:13:31.:13:36.

you asked any doubles player in the world to play with Andy, they would

:13:37.:13:40.

say a dream, nation. Not anything he's not like that. Interesting to

:13:41.:13:44.

watch them play those matches. Amazing story for the brothers to

:13:45.:13:49.

play with each other. Not that easy emotionally. The first couple of

:13:50.:13:53.

matches against the French and the Aussies, took them time, took and

:13:54.:13:59.

the time to play his way into the match. Once he got comfortable, they

:14:00.:14:04.

were unstoppable. This is playing against the Bryan brothers, in the

:14:05.:14:14.

fifth set, they came so close. They should be thinking, if they can

:14:15.:14:17.

almost beat them, they can be anybody. They did combine well, Dom

:14:18.:14:27.

Inglot, one heck of a serve. Communication is very good, they are

:14:28.:14:34.

good doubles team. They do combine well. Dom Inglot needs to find the

:14:35.:14:38.

right partner. He needs to find someone with the same ranking, to

:14:39.:14:42.

get into the tournaments. He has been playing with Daniel Nestor, he

:14:43.:14:48.

will only play with them if they are seeded in the Masters and the grand

:14:49.:14:52.

slam event will stop if they are outside, yes you find another

:14:53.:14:56.

partner. He is established on the doubles tour of, massive serve. He

:14:57.:15:02.

is less consistent than Andy Murray, well, anybody is. Jamie has this

:15:03.:15:08.

massive wingspan at the net, they will put all the pressure on the

:15:09.:15:12.

Serbians in this match. You have been Davis Cup captain, Leon Smith,

:15:13.:15:19.

this is an important match. We are favourites in this, whoever Serbia

:15:20.:15:24.

put in. We are, but the cliche, never take any match for granted.

:15:25.:15:30.

Leon will not be overconfident. We have a class doubles team, whoever

:15:31.:15:33.

we put in. We have other people in the wings, if Colin Fleming, we have

:15:34.:15:39.

good doubles. Excellent Men's Doubles players. We will win this

:15:40.:15:45.

match, I have no doubt about that. In almost every match with play,

:15:46.:15:49.

particularly with Andy involved, you can put that as a banker doubles

:15:50.:15:56.

wins. When Andy plays, you have two doubles singles wins, and now the

:15:57.:16:00.

doubles with Jamie and Andy, we are very team. Server have one very

:16:01.:16:09.

strong doubles player, Zimonjic, 40 years of age, former world number

:16:10.:16:16.

one. He has pretty much won everything there is to win, so

:16:17.:16:22.

successful. Interesting to see how he deals with this today. He would

:16:23.:16:32.

be disappointed he has not got the more experienced singles players in

:16:33.:16:37.

the team. A big job to lead his team. He knows they are second

:16:38.:16:41.

favourites. Always cautious about favourites before a match.

:16:42.:16:45.

Especially on a clay court. On any surface, if you are going to play on

:16:46.:16:52.

clay, the anyone that can level out. If this was a farcical, indoors, I

:16:53.:16:56.

would be feeling much more comfortable. The players making

:16:57.:17:02.

their way. There is Dom Inglot and Jamie, with Leon. Coming up behind.

:17:03.:17:10.

The players we know, it is Zimonjic and Krajinovic. Krajinovic does not

:17:11.:17:18.

really have any doubles experience. Almost feels like as giving the

:17:19.:17:23.

singles players a rest. Tipsarevic suffering with a virus. It is an

:17:24.:17:33.

unknown quantity. Singles player, burst into the top 200, very early.

:17:34.:17:44.

Coached by Roger Federer's coach. We know he is a good tennis player. How

:17:45.:17:49.

well he moves around the court, positional sense, nowadays the

:17:50.:17:54.

doubles players are so practised in their movements, patterns of play.

:17:55.:17:59.

If you are in the wrong position, does not matter how good you are,

:18:00.:18:03.

you will not get a shot at getting double. He says his favourite

:18:04.:18:09.

surface is clay, he has a big forehand, we will see how big it is.

:18:10.:18:17.

On social media, Zimonjic posted a picture of his son, Leon, with Andy

:18:18.:18:24.

Murray. Lovely. Said he's going to play the match, Serbia and Great

:18:25.:18:28.

Britain. Waiting for their turn to play. You have seen Zimonjic play,

:18:29.:18:37.

tough player. In the doubles. Very good doubles player. He will be the

:18:38.:18:46.

captain, not of the pair. When you are so far ahead in doubles the

:18:47.:18:51.

periods, sometimes you try to much. If I was the British pair, when his

:18:52.:18:58.

partner serves, I would go down Zimonjic's line, you may see him try

:18:59.:19:04.

to cross. To help his partner row. Maybe a good time to go down his

:19:05.:19:08.

line, to keep him honest. Tactics such a big part of doubles. Speaks

:19:09.:19:16.

periods teams, especially early in matches, you will see returners

:19:17.:19:20.

returning exclusively up the line in the first few games. So much

:19:21.:19:26.

movement, the power in the serve. Almost becoming like a badminton

:19:27.:19:31.

formation. You have the net player at the front. Someone like Jamie

:19:32.:19:37.

Murray, the size of his wingspan, that is what the Canadian Davis Cup

:19:38.:19:42.

coach for Great Britain, he has been training them well, not many places

:19:43.:19:47.

where he can stand, and not cover the ball. It is tough when you have

:19:48.:19:54.

someone with that wingspan. Talking to their coach, I asked why is Jamie

:19:55.:19:59.

not playing with John Peers. And he took way, pairing

:20:00.:20:19.

him with Suarez. And they go and win the Austrian Open. I thought the

:20:20.:20:25.

same, I said I cannot see it working, but it certainly did.

:20:26.:20:30.

Really good coach. Andy Murray wanted to changes serve, improve his

:20:31.:20:36.

second serve. He spoke about the technique, to make it better. Louis

:20:37.:20:45.

is a very good skills coach. Very process driven. If you have

:20:46.:20:50.

something specific in mind, going to him, one of the best things you can

:20:51.:20:52.

do. He takes any personalisation, and installs it.

:20:53.:21:09.

The thing that gives you confidence in Louis, I don't know anybody who

:21:10.:21:14.

studies tennis more. Almost every minute of every day looking at

:21:15.:21:17.

footage, to see what other players do. You play any opponent, any of

:21:18.:21:22.

the doubles teensy coaches, he knows exactly what they are going to do,

:21:23.:21:27.

because he has watched hundreds of the matches.

:21:28.:21:40.

You talk about going to Zimonjic's line, will you focus about hitting

:21:41.:21:51.

to the inexperienced player? I think when they go to the net they will

:21:52.:21:56.

concentrate on him for try to pepper him with as many shots at the net.

:21:57.:21:58.

Look for the returns of serve. They do combine well together, Jamie

:21:59.:22:24.

and John? They do. Jamie Murray with the big wingspan. Very difficult to

:22:25.:22:30.

get the ball past them. They feel they will take business on their

:22:31.:22:33.

side of the net, they will get one chance at least to break. They have

:22:34.:22:38.

a good combination. Holding serve, an area with Jamie, the serve could

:22:39.:22:47.

be improved? That is the one area he could definitely look at, and think,

:22:48.:22:54.

can I get it more consistent? Part of the reason why could be a

:22:55.:22:58.

leveller on the clay court. Different from

:22:59.:23:09.

being on a hard court. One thing the opponent may think is a chink in the

:23:10.:23:16.

armour. Positional play around in there is so good. From an opponent's

:23:17.:23:22.

point of view, and I have played against it, there is a feeling you

:23:23.:23:28.

cannot get the ball away from him. Dom Inglot, as far as he's

:23:29.:23:32.

concerned, they are the favourites in this match, apart from the Bryan

:23:33.:23:38.

brothers, when they were at their peak, here very much the favourites,

:23:39.:23:45.

different sort of pressure? It is different, the only two doubles he

:23:46.:23:49.

has played was USA away and home against the Bryan brothers. The long

:23:50.:23:53.

five setter last year. You are right. Playing with somebody who has

:23:54.:23:58.

had a load of success, every Davis Cup match, when Jenni Murray plays,

:23:59.:24:06.

he expects to win. The start of the match for Dom Inglot is important.

:24:07.:24:09.

On his own service game, getting into his rhythm, getting some holds,

:24:10.:24:15.

that will settle him down. I talked about leaders of teams, when Andy

:24:16.:24:20.

and Jamie played together, they are leader type of people. Jamie Murray,

:24:21.:24:26.

especially at the start, he will take the lead. We know who will be

:24:27.:24:32.

the captain on this side of the net, definitely Zimonjic, but Jamie has

:24:33.:24:39.

the experience. Dom will be listening to Jamie? Absolutely. A

:24:40.:24:46.

lot of the doubles is about energy, setting the right tempo, the right

:24:47.:24:54.

energy. You see some of the doubles players, debut not stop between

:24:55.:24:58.

points, they want to keep the energy up. Not so much about talking, it is

:24:59.:25:06.

almost by example. Jamie coming out of the blocks. Dominating the net.

:25:07.:25:14.

That is what will help Dom, that will help Jamie. He is a much better

:25:15.:25:22.

slayer than his rankings. His nickname is Dom

:25:23.:25:43.

The Bomb. The court will take a bit as it is served. You have two

:25:44.:25:57.

survey, get a high percentage, give your partner a chance. If push comes

:25:58.:26:04.

to shove, you know he has the ability to hit such a big serve. On

:26:05.:26:08.

the doubles court you do not have the hit it that way. 120 mph, all

:26:09.:26:18.

about setting up your partner. Don't go for massive one-off aces, big

:26:19.:26:21.

service winners, your partner is the third thing second serve. At least

:26:22.:26:27.

the British pair have played together. They know all the tactics

:26:28.:26:33.

and signals. Great atmosphere. Stirling University students making

:26:34.:26:38.

it like a home tie. Not a sell-out, there is meant to be 6000 people,

:26:39.:26:43.

only 2000. They are the only people you can here. Pretty much every

:26:44.:26:49.

match we have had recently, the whole Great Britain support, since

:26:50.:26:55.

Andy has committed himself to blame, the support has been absolutely

:26:56.:27:00.

phenomenal. He has committed himself to the team, on the sidelines,

:27:01.:27:05.

helping Captain Leon Smith. We are ready for this doubles match, all

:27:06.:27:11.

important doubles match. The tie is 1-1. John has made his way to the

:27:12.:27:14.

commentary box to join Andrew Castle.

:27:15.:27:15.

It will be Castle.

:27:16.:27:20.

It will be exciting. COMMENTATOR: The sun is shining, I

:27:21.:27:25.

wish I shared John Lloyd's confidence that Great Britain will

:27:26.:27:29.

win this match. We are impartial of course in the commentary box. I am

:27:30.:27:40.

pretty confident. They will see a lot of first volleys. Not easy to

:27:41.:27:45.

move on the clay, to win away from home, quite something. Best of five,

:27:46.:27:53.

doubles coming to the fore. I enjoy that, I know you do at home. The

:27:54.:27:58.

Serbians back on the baseline for trying to buy some time.

:27:59.:28:52.

24 years of age, Krajinovic. Was in Florida at Nick Bollettieri's

:28:53.:29:05.

Academy. Just one doubles match this year for

:29:06.:29:55.

Krajinovic. Made the final of a challenger in Rome this year, lost

:29:56.:30:00.

to Kyle Edmund. This file will have some information on infants -- so

:30:01.:30:13.

Kyle. Reward straightaway for a drill they do endlessly. Jamie

:30:14.:30:21.

Murray, how close to the net? The head is almost over the net. He

:30:22.:30:27.

picks it, making these angles, little short angles stop a practice

:30:28.:30:34.

that over and over again this license for the net, reflex it away.

:30:35.:30:49.

Presumably Zimonjic, the 40-year-old, ranked number 31 in the

:30:50.:30:59.

world at 77. He can be a lot better than that.

:31:00.:31:12.

Everything Zimonjic does on a doubles court is definite. Sometimes

:31:13.:31:22.

he exhibits lovely touch, most of the time, a lot of weight and

:31:23.:31:32.

muscle, everything stays hit. A bit like Dom

:31:33.:32:11.

An early trial of his nerve here in front of home fans. You never want

:32:12.:32:17.

to disappoint them. Euros. They did not get the sign

:32:18.:33:00.

right on that one. Jamie Murray uses the lob return more than any other

:33:01.:33:05.

player in the doubles tournament. He uses that one quite a lot. And it is

:33:06.:33:10.

very effective. You have to get it right because they are not lobbing

:33:11.:33:14.

short players over there. It has to be the right height and speed to get

:33:15.:33:15.

over their heads. He is a consistent 115-118mph server

:33:16.:33:30.

with accuracy. That is nice for the away

:33:31.:34:05.

supporters. Break, break. That is a pity. They decided to run

:34:06.:34:35.

round the second serve, and actually he made the move superbly. He almost

:34:36.:34:42.

had too much time on that forehand, Dom Inglot.

:34:43.:34:54.

Jamie Murray is the hot man on the return at the moment. The lob over

:34:55.:35:00.

the head, putting the return down the line. MS from Zimonjic. -- a

:35:01.:35:09.

miss from Zimonjic. And it is a first break to Great

:35:10.:35:41.

Britain. Reverse singles tomorrow, and the two number ones will play

:35:42.:35:45.

tomorrow against Kyle Edmund. Whatever happens here, that Madge

:35:46.:35:54.

will be live. The score, 1-1 at the moment, five matches over three days

:35:55.:35:55.

in the Davis Cup. James Ward and Tipsarevic will play

:35:56.:36:18.

a first match if required. But you can see the pivotal nature of

:36:19.:36:25.

doubles. Still such an important match in the Davis Cup. That is good

:36:26.:36:27.

to see. And that is the problem when you

:36:28.:37:10.

stand that close to the net. The ball comes at in this fast, and you

:37:11.:37:15.

see that you have to have a shorter backswing, because there is just not

:37:16.:37:22.

enough time to take the racket back. You need to let the speed of the

:37:23.:37:27.

return cause the problems. That one over hit by Dom Inglot. He needs a

:37:28.:37:28.

couple of first serves here. You can see an Jamie Murray's serve

:37:29.:37:46.

placement, he is about a foot and a half back, and he takes a big step

:37:47.:37:48.

in. He kept his eye on the ball nicely,

:37:49.:38:20.

Krajinovic, but he had to wait for it. A breezy day in Belgrade. The

:38:21.:38:28.

left-hander with a bit of tech, so he moves well there and here is a

:38:29.:38:30.

chance to break back. The hat came off Jamie Murray after

:38:31.:40:13.

he had the volley. He was looking up to the umpire to retake the point.

:40:14.:40:22.

If you took that to its logical extension, you could take your hat

:40:23.:40:26.

off every time you wanted to replay the point.

:40:27.:40:42.

That is a fantastic start for Great Britain, it really is. Opportunities

:40:43.:42:26.

for the Serbians to break back. They have not taken it and they will be

:42:27.:42:34.

disappointing their crowd now. Yes. Krajinovic did not play a

:42:35.:42:38.

particularly good game on his serve. They have not got into it yet on

:42:39.:42:45.

their side. For a scratch pairing, they are not quite sure. Jamie

:42:46.:42:50.

Murray's lob, players thought the other one was going to go for it and

:42:51.:42:53.

that is what will happen when you have an untried payer. I am assuming

:42:54.:42:58.

have practised this week but who knows. I am sure they did not expect

:42:59.:43:04.

to play this doubles team until the last minute. At the moment, they are

:43:05.:43:10.

not combining as a pair. The British pair have started very well.

:43:11.:43:16.

A big first service hold here for them is important to get them on the

:43:17.:43:33.

board. Serving and staying back. You can see that in doubles. Not that

:43:34.:43:39.

often, but it can be successful. The British pair will be trying to get

:43:40.:43:45.

there serve back and coming into the nerve as -- coming back into the net

:43:46.:43:47.

as quickly as possible. Somebody has been to the air

:43:48.:45:57.

pawnshop. -- horn shot. A couple of hard volley is now that

:45:58.:46:27.

they have missed. On the clay, sometimes because the court is so

:46:28.:46:32.

slow, the tendency is to punch the volley is a little harder. Whereas

:46:33.:46:36.

on a faster court, you perhaps do not have as much chance to do damage

:46:37.:46:43.

on the return. And they are just not getting enough first serves in the

:46:44.:46:44.

moment but that will come. And you don't need a first serve if

:46:45.:46:56.

you can hit a second serve that hard. Right into the body. Ideal.

:46:57.:48:01.

That is some heavy, heavy serving from Dom Inglot to hold. It has been

:48:02.:48:13.

a long time since Great Britain, the doubles team without Andy Murray,

:48:14.:48:17.

has managed to go ahead and win in the Davis Cup. It is a very

:48:18.:48:20.

difficult thing to do, especially away from home on clay. It was Colin

:48:21.:48:32.

Fleming and Johnny Marray, that was the last time, in 2013, they did it

:48:33.:48:41.

without Andy Murray. It will be a big day for Dom Inglot and Jamie

:48:42.:48:46.

Murray if they can sort this out. They are established doubles players

:48:47.:48:50.

now and this is what they do. We have a good bunch of doubles players

:48:51.:48:57.

now. As I say, it is almost reached the point where we feel like we're

:48:58.:49:00.

going to win these double matches. Andy Murray, when he gets to play,

:49:01.:49:08.

we are tough to beat. Jamie Murray at number five in the world, Dom

:49:09.:49:14.

Inglot is 29, and we have Ken and Neil Skupski, playing well together.

:49:15.:49:21.

Jonathan Marray is in the quarterfinals of another competition

:49:22.:49:25.

this weekend. We have a good group out there.

:49:26.:49:35.

That second serve was sitting a little bit. Directing quite a few of

:49:36.:49:43.

these serves to Jamie Murray's backhand. By far his best side. It

:49:44.:49:53.

is his forehand that gives him more trouble. He tends to bump the

:49:54.:49:55.

forehand and coming behind it. Fantastic hands. He is the master of

:49:56.:50:54.

forehand Fantastic hands. He is the master of

:50:55.:51:26.

finding angles, Jamie Murray. He flicked that up well. This one here,

:51:27.:51:33.

straight down the middle. He just finds spaces in doubles. Excellent

:51:34.:51:35.

play. And you always want a second break

:51:36.:52:14.

of serve away from home on clay. Absolutely. Louis Kane in there will

:52:15.:52:20.

be absolutely delighted with this start. Superb. These two have not

:52:21.:52:32.

settled in the slightest. -- Louis Cayer.

:52:33.:52:51.

Unfortunately, an example where with these good doubles teams, when they

:52:52.:52:59.

get to the net, they have an eight foot gap between them, and when one

:53:00.:53:04.

goes out wide, they close the gap. They try to shrink the court as much

:53:05.:53:08.

as possible. They follow the flight of the ball.

:53:09.:53:24.

Sometimes when you look at where Dom Inglot is, you can see a gap, and

:53:25.:53:32.

you think, down there at the tramliners there is a big gap, but

:53:33.:53:40.

if you take one step across, he can stretch his arm and he has covered

:53:41.:53:44.

it down to a foot. You are not going to get over into that lot.

:53:45.:53:52.

And he has even improved since the final at Wimbledon. With Peter Colt,

:53:53.:54:00.

remember the 2004 Wimbledon film? He was the stand-in for Paul Bedene. He

:54:01.:54:08.

did win Wimbledon. Peter Colt, 2004, how could I forget that? -- poll

:54:09.:54:11.

tetany. And that was a very fine set of

:54:12.:55:36.

tennis. The crowd have been taken out of it, not that many of them

:55:37.:55:41.

anyway. The Brits have been making all the noise. Away from home, to

:55:42.:55:46.

put a sense together like that, in an always pivotal doubles match, a

:55:47.:55:55.

superb start. You could not get a set more straightforward than that

:55:56.:55:58.

in Men's Doubles. They look so confident out here, they look like a

:55:59.:56:04.

doubles team, although they have not played much together, but are

:56:05.:56:08.

confident of each other's abilities. Whereas with the Serbian team, there

:56:09.:56:16.

are gaps in the volleying. They played so well against the Bryans,

:56:17.:56:27.

losing 9-7 last year in the fifth. That was the James Ward match where

:56:28.:56:31.

he beat John Isner, which some of you will remember, 9-7 in the fifth.

:56:32.:56:35.

That was the last time they played the Davis Cup together and since

:56:36.:56:41.

then, Jamie, as well as having his OBEs and all the success that he has

:56:42.:56:48.

had, is the Australian Open champion, Wimbledon finalist last

:56:49.:56:51.

year and he has now become number one in the world. Number five now. I

:56:52.:57:00.

just want to thank our Serbian TV hosts for this delightful break. It

:57:01.:57:10.

is nice and dramatic. Getting is ready for the second set. A lot of

:57:11.:57:15.

people taking these pictures will be taking commercial breaks and missing

:57:16.:57:20.

this opportunity to enjoy some of the numbers. Look at that. Huntly

:57:21.:57:27.

domination. Points won at the net, 17 for the Serbians. Only eight

:57:28.:57:32.

break points. The Serbian team had a few but did not come through. But it

:57:33.:57:49.

was such an easy set. Great Britain are one set up in this quarterfinal.

:57:50.:58:22.

The Serbian team collecting to change the end at which they each

:58:23.:58:35.

server. You can change sides between sets and return from the other side,

:58:36.:58:40.

if you fancy it. But you cannot change your partner, sadly.

:58:41.:58:50.

He is making a lot of errors about the net. He seems uncomfortable, and

:58:51.:58:57.

they are concentrating their attack on him.

:58:58.:59:37.

Something to work with for the home team. Earlier on today, Serbia's

:59:38.:59:57.

number one, Dusan Lajovic, he defeated James Ward, Britain's

:59:58.:00:02.

number two, to take it to one match all. That was supposed to be two

:00:03.:00:07.

singles matches on day one but it was curtailed slightly after just

:00:08.:00:12.

the one match on day one. Playing catch up today. And we will finish

:00:13.:00:17.

tomorrow with two singles. Zimonjic misses another return. He

:00:18.:00:44.

was never the most consistent or flexible. But he always goes for the

:00:45.:00:51.

return. You never see him chip the ball. At the moment, he has not got

:00:52.:00:55.

the timing right. Not giving his partner much to feed off.

:00:56.:01:11.

and not sure whether that was a bad bounce. Never seen a kick serve from

:01:12.:01:24.

Jamie Marie Ballard. -- Jamie Murray that high. Just not getting enough

:01:25.:01:26.

balls in the Court at the moment. That tactic is risky when you have

:01:27.:03:35.

serve and volley players like this British team. The percentages don't

:03:36.:03:39.

do good for the Serbian team if they keep doing that.

:03:40.:04:57.

Keeping their noses in front. Zimonjic has won more Davis Cup

:04:58.:05:06.

matches than anyone else for Serbia, 41 total victory. Played in 51

:05:07.:05:14.

matches overall. In doubles, 28 victories, 17 losses. He is 14 years

:05:15.:05:23.

of age. -- 40 years of age. Great doubles record. To carry somebody,

:05:24.:05:31.

the 40, and beyond clay, not his favourite, a big demand. It is, not

:05:32.:05:38.

flexible. Not a Turner of the ball. Big server, he needs someone with

:05:39.:05:44.

him, so he has that combination. He has not got that. His partner mostly

:05:45.:05:50.

ground strokes, has not played doubles at all. Tough match for him.

:05:51.:05:58.

He is very streaky, Zimonjic. Great hero in doubles, was exactly like

:05:59.:06:11.

that. He can be streaky, nailing the return if he gets streaky, dated put

:06:12.:06:20.

something together. -- they could put something together.

:06:21.:06:40.

That has to go over the net and then. Your partner has made a great

:06:41.:06:46.

return, you have to find the Court, low part of the net, down the

:06:47.:06:49.

middle. Great pick-up from Dom Inglot. You cannot miss that.

:06:50.:07:02.

There is the first served. Has gone missing, the second serve has been

:07:03.:07:10.

so good, makes life a lot easier. Darmian Clark playing with Daniel

:07:11.:07:33.

Nestor or at the moment. The man Zimonjic has had his best success

:07:34.:07:38.

with, including winning Wimbledon in 2008 and 2009.

:07:39.:07:48.

Break point. A couple of great reflex volley

:07:49.:08:00.

Dom Inglot playing with Daniel Nestor, they started at Queen's,

:08:01.:08:32.

winning Nottingham. Normally plays with Robert instead. Played with

:08:33.:08:38.

Andy Murray in Monte Carlo. Played with Bruce Martin.

:08:39.:08:54.

Great hands. Going right at Dom Inglot. Refuse to budge. I would

:08:55.:09:06.

have run for the hills. Then again, Hans Rice in front. -- the hands,

:09:07.:09:12.

right in front. They will be disappointed, got there

:09:13.:10:01.

in plenty of time. Needed a field that one lover, bumping it up high.

:10:02.:11:20.

When did the singles players stop playing doubles, John? Bjorn Borg

:11:21.:11:26.

the first one he started doing it regularly. If filtered down from

:11:27.:11:33.

there, became the thing to do. Some of the tough guys, giving them the

:11:34.:11:40.

advantage of resting, only playing. In general, once he started, all of

:11:41.:11:45.

the top players decided it was too much. Started giving up one by one,

:11:46.:11:53.

a great pity is the ATV have made more moves to try to get them

:11:54.:11:58.

playing a bit more. They have tried everything. Now on the regular tour,

:11:59.:12:04.

apart from the Grand Slams, they only play two sets, and a

:12:05.:12:11.

tie-breaker in the first. The matches do not last more than one

:12:12.:12:16.

hour 20 minutes stop they only play them when they want to get practice,

:12:17.:12:21.

when they had been out for a while. A great pity. The audience, the vast

:12:22.:12:27.

majority only played doubles. Yet they do not see the top stars play

:12:28.:12:29.

much these days. Short, no backspin, just feeding off

:12:30.:13:40.

the pace. Excellent volley. Anything above the height of the

:13:41.:14:20.

net. A bit too quick. Just flows in. Take it. -- close.

:14:21.:15:23.

A pivotal set for the Serbians. You don't feel they can go two sets down

:15:24.:15:32.

to the British pair. The next 15 minutes or so very important. Two

:15:33.:15:39.

singles tomorrow. Kyle Edmund wasn't spectacular form beating Tipsarevic

:15:40.:15:43.

yesterday. -- was in. A couple of you asking whether Andy

:15:44.:16:00.

Murray, who is at the tie, supporting his team-mates and a

:16:01.:16:06.

fantastic effort, can he play? The answer is no, not nominated for the

:16:07.:16:07.

tie. The other matches in the

:16:08.:17:44.

quarterfinal, Italy against Argentina, Great Britain claimed the

:17:45.:17:48.

winner a flat, at home in September, whichever team comes through, Italy

:17:49.:17:54.

or Argentina. France versus the Czech Republic. Croatia against the

:17:55.:18:04.

United States. Great comeback by Jack Sark against Marin Cilic. Big

:18:05.:18:11.

decision by Jim Corriere to leave out Sam Querrey after he got to the

:18:12.:18:22.

quarterfinals at Wimbledon. -- Courier. Absolutely the right

:18:23.:18:30.

decision. France will be difficult to beat, their doubles team is so

:18:31.:18:35.

good. Wonderful to watch together, number one and two in the world at

:18:36.:18:44.

the moment. Fabulous effort last year when Great Britain defeated

:18:45.:18:48.

France in the quarterfinal, right after Wimbledon at club. Murray and

:18:49.:18:57.

Murray beating Nicolas Mas who in Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at Queen's Club.

:18:58.:19:00.

-- Nicolas Mahut. Gorgeous volley. Jamie Murray. Just

:19:01.:19:57.

getting the depth, inside the baseline.

:19:58.:20:15.

Good, nation from the British pair. -- good combination.

:20:16.:21:49.

Horrible game so far from Zimonjic. No real control of the ball so far.

:21:50.:22:21.

What overturned. -- what a return. Unorthodox return from Jamie Murray,

:22:22.:22:33.

putting people off. Charging in behind it. If he gets it early

:22:34.:22:39.

enough, imposing figure coming to the net right in front of it. Chance

:22:40.:22:45.

there. That was well done. Kept his eye on

:22:46.:23:29.

the ball, did not react, Zimonjic. Letting it come on. Nicely done on

:23:30.:23:37.

the backhand side. Just wasn't low enough, to put the back and away.

:23:38.:23:47.

Just getting it back. Good hands, from Zimonjic.

:23:48.:24:49.

What a point. Should never have lost that, the British pair. So many

:24:50.:24:57.

Five straight points. chances.

:24:58.:25:45.

Five straight points. Huge game. 0-40, couple of chances

:25:46.:25:45.

on Huge game. 0-40, couple of chances

:25:46.:26:07.

disappointed. Opportunities did not combine at the right time. Zimonjic,

:26:08.:26:20.

53 tournament victories in a career stretching back over 20 years. You

:26:21.:26:30.

have Mike Bryant at 114. His brother. Daniel Nestor, 89. Zimonjic

:26:31.:26:50.

shows real class. His captain was letting him do all the work. That

:26:51.:26:54.

was his wife and the twins, they are seven.

:26:55.:27:52.

The tennis balls, Jimmy Merry forgot to show them, Zimonjic said replay

:27:53.:27:58.

the point. It is any customer that you have to show them. -- a custom.

:27:59.:29:22.

After the disappointment of not breaking in the previous game, the

:29:23.:29:27.

British team will be delighted with that hold. Very efficient. Give

:29:28.:29:30.

concentration. -- good. Ready to pounce. Jamie Murray, as

:29:31.:30:29.

soon as the ball is deep, where do you go? Looking, looking, waiting to

:30:30.:30:33.

make his move, punching it away. Zimonjic possibly needs to cross,

:30:34.:30:57.

take some pressure off his partner. Oh boy, what an error that is.

:30:58.:31:57.

Thousands and thousands of those type of volleys and you will not

:31:58.:32:03.

miss them many times right on top of the net, that is just not tracking

:32:04.:32:05.

the ball early enough of the return and losing his focus. A big point

:32:06.:32:09.

now. That was a point from Krajinovic. He

:32:10.:32:32.

caught it perhaps a little bit late. A little bit but it was a well

:32:33.:32:45.

struck point. He saw him going. He has settled them. He did not start

:32:46.:32:49.

great, and he has not played any doubles this year, Krajinovic.

:32:50.:33:15.

Two games in a row, Serbia have come through on their serve, having saved

:33:16.:33:21.

break points. And that backhand down the line was something quite

:33:22.:33:23.

spectacular. Fantastic victory for this nation in

:33:24.:33:42.

2010. Serbia and Montenegro, we saw them at the Braehead Arena in

:33:43.:33:47.

Glasgow in 2006, the first really good look at Novak Djokavic. He tied

:33:48.:33:52.

that up with a victory over Greg Rusedski. But no try keep, and no

:33:53.:34:01.

Djokovic. -- no Troicki. A tough team to put away.

:34:02.:34:13.

The ground staff just tidying up the lines. A couple of flashy returns

:34:14.:34:18.

here. Nicely done. A good volley there,

:34:19.:35:19.

but I like the way he took the initiative and stepped forward. It

:35:20.:35:25.

would have been more difficult for Jamie. He had commitments to go

:35:26.:35:30.

across, and would feel on the drop volley. A good start to the game.

:35:31.:36:00.

Having a bit at the pop -- having a bit of a pop at the crowd from the

:36:01.:36:07.

University of Stirling there. So casual on those, he makes it look

:36:08.:37:05.

so easy. The last time we saw a merry playing in a tie-break, he

:37:06.:37:14.

played them very well. -- a Murray. His younger brother, Andy, in the

:37:15.:37:16.

Wimbledon finals. A pity. It was a good return.

:37:17.:37:39.

Slightly too big a backswing. The perfect cross. He took the racket

:37:40.:37:45.

back a little slow, getting it up high. And then the border behind

:37:46.:37:46.

him. All these chances the British pair

:37:47.:38:30.

have had. 4-4, 0-40 against the Zimonjic server. Another

:38:31.:38:33.

opportunity. He goes down the line on the backhand. And this one,

:38:34.:38:35.

suddenly Serbia are up. Jamie Murray invested that point

:38:36.:39:47.

there with amazing energy and did not want it to get to his head.

:39:48.:41:08.

This is the best atmosphere we have had since yesterday.

:41:09.:41:35.

Dom Inglot went the wrong way there on that half-court shot. Good

:41:36.:41:44.

closing of the net by Zimonjic. Dom Inglot fell for the fake there. He

:41:45.:41:49.

punched that volley away and played a good tie-breaker. Holding his

:41:50.:41:51.

nerve well. Amazing the way it turns. This could

:41:52.:42:23.

be a big turning point in the whole time, let alone this match. Time

:42:24.:42:28.

will tell, but Zimonjic is serving. To make

:42:29.:42:36.

And that drops in. It is one set all. A massive body blow to the

:42:37.:43:01.

British team. Dom Inglot and Jamie Murray are going to need some

:43:02.:43:07.

encouraging now. One set all in this best set doubles match. Well played

:43:08.:43:12.

by Zimonjic, holding his serve, and Krajinovic for finding the line on

:43:13.:43:16.

that backhand. Small margins in this game. SUE BARKER: And it shows that

:43:17.:43:24.

these vital points, and make such a difference. As Andy was saying, they

:43:25.:43:29.

had their chances at 4-4 and 5-5 and now they are in a real battle. After

:43:30.:43:35.

all the opportunities they had, that is the nature of tennis with this

:43:36.:43:39.

scoring system, you create all this pressure and of course he wants to

:43:40.:43:42.

give yourself opportunities but the downside is that if you do not take

:43:43.:43:45.

them, the other team get a boost. And that is exactly what has

:43:46.:43:49.

happened. And you get the feeling that the Serbians are really lifted.

:43:50.:43:54.

They are firing. They are dipping a little bit and Dom Inglot is making

:43:55.:43:58.

a few errors. He is becoming a little erratic. At the start we

:43:59.:44:02.

mentioned that might be the case but it just looks like a few, the last

:44:03.:44:07.

view he has missed, maybe his head has gone down. I am not sure whether

:44:08.:44:12.

it is and the orderly on at the side of the court that can maybe say

:44:13.:44:18.

something to help calm him down but Krajinovic, he has come into the

:44:19.:44:22.

match well after a shaky start. I think there is room for the British

:44:23.:44:28.

guys to target him more. They have gone too Zimonjic a bit too much.

:44:29.:44:35.

Looking at in there, the younger guy is volleying well but they have to

:44:36.:44:38.

find a way to take these chances and dominate once again. They were the

:44:39.:44:43.

only team in it in the first set. They almost have to start again but

:44:44.:44:49.

think about how they started. Even in the first two sets, they have

:44:50.:44:54.

been the best team. If they had broken at for all, you would think

:44:55.:45:01.

it was plain sailing. -- 4-4. The stakes are high. If you do not take

:45:02.:45:04.

chances, it has a double effect because it gives your opponent left.

:45:05.:45:09.

Also, it starts to bring doubts in your own mind which is what you

:45:10.:45:13.

want. And the music is coming in for the replays. The music they have

:45:14.:45:17.

been playing when Serbia was up 5-4 and 6-5, it was stirring stuff. I

:45:18.:45:24.

wonder if they should give the players headphones to really inspire

:45:25.:45:28.

them. And the players are back on court as we see the second set

:45:29.:45:34.

statistics there. Serbia, so much better, winning more winners, they

:45:35.:45:38.

are right back in this match and it is a crucial doubles match. Who will

:45:39.:45:40.

take advantage? Dom Inglot, who held so well, so

:45:41.:46:14.

comfortably to make it 6-6, serving quickly. And they are dealing with

:46:15.:46:16.

disappointment at the moment. It is all about momentum and Serbia

:46:17.:46:36.

have got it all right now. He made that look pretty easy, Dom

:46:37.:47:16.

Inglot. But considering the score in the game, 0-30, he did well there. A

:47:17.:47:21.

deep lob and he smashed it away so confidently.

:47:22.:47:32.

Well held indeed. From 0-30 down, with things not going well, they had

:47:33.:48:35.

to be strong there with the bones overhead. Some crisp play and some

:48:36.:48:46.

good serving. -- the bones overhead. They won, spoiled by the rain. --

:48:47.:48:55.

day one. Kyle Edmund, we saw him making his debut in the final last

:48:56.:48:59.

year but he was fantastic against Tipsarevic, who is not well. It

:49:00.:49:03.

remains to be seen whether he will play the fifth match tomorrow if

:49:04.:49:14.

required, against James Ward. There could be a lot of tennis between now

:49:15.:49:16.

and then. A good pick up from Dom Inglot. You

:49:17.:50:41.

can see the way he held that ball close to the net.

:50:42.:51:03.

And there is a glimpse of the power. A big forehand.

:51:04.:52:25.

There was a good call from Dom Inglot.

:52:26.:53:00.

Good second serve as well, very clean. It hit the centre of the

:53:01.:53:20.

racket, but it doesn't matter, it is effective.

:53:21.:54:28.

Just pulling down a little bit on that first serve at the moment. The

:54:29.:54:33.

right shoulder comes down a little bit too soon.

:54:34.:54:44.

Technically that volley is not something you can teach, but it is

:54:45.:54:53.

one of those top-spin volleys. If you time it right...

:54:54.:55:21.

That was a backhand down the line, and they are break point down. At

:55:22.:55:34.

5-5 in the second set, that will have contributed to it. But now they

:55:35.:55:37.

are beginning to enjoy this. Not easy now with shadows on the

:55:38.:55:56.

court as well. A good hole they are. The momentum

:55:57.:58:10.

had slipped a bit. This would have been a tough game to have lost. Well

:58:11.:58:18.

held by Marianne Dom Inglot. Great Britain hoping to win a sixth

:58:19.:58:26.

successive Davis Cup tie. -- well held by Jamie Murray and Dom Inglot.

:58:27.:58:34.

Buying the efforts of Andy Murray, not just Andy Murray but the whole

:58:35.:58:41.

team, and the spirit of teamwork. They have turned themselves into

:58:42.:58:45.

such a strong unit here. And if they can just get through this one, Andy

:58:46.:58:49.

Murray will no doubt return for the next. Understandably electing to

:58:50.:58:55.

take some time off with the US Open and Rio Olympics per head. -- up

:58:56.:59:06.

ahead. This centre, built in 1954 in the centre of Belgrade. Build-out of

:59:07.:59:11.

stone. A big renovation in 2011. Nice change up there, in that

:59:12.:59:47.

server. Miss timed by Dom Inglot. Krajinovic has grown in strength.

:59:48.:01:03.

138 in singles and pretty much a nonexistent doubles rank.

:01:04.:01:27.

He left home to go and live in Florida at the age of 13 to

:01:28.:01:31.

concentrate on his tennis. In usual second serve. A bit like

:01:32.:02:27.

the old days. Playing away from home used to be fraught with

:02:28.:02:30.

difficulties, throwing coins onto the floor. David Lloyd used to pick

:02:31.:02:34.

it up. I'm not suggesting there was foul

:02:35.:02:56.

play. In telling you, they used to be! Nadal. -- there used to be. No

:02:57.:03:05.

doubt. Leon Smith, counselling his men over

:03:06.:03:56.

there. Busy schedule this year, with the Rio Olympics. Kyle Edmund as the

:03:57.:04:03.

call-out, on the final list to join Andy Murray and Jamie Murray. They

:04:04.:04:08.

will be the doubles unit. Kyle will play the singles alongside Andy. The

:04:09.:04:15.

6th of August, the tennis starts. Always tennis players embracing the

:04:16.:04:19.

chance to play at the Olympic Games. Los Angeles, 1984, just an

:04:20.:04:25.

exhibition event. 88, full metal support. Continuing from Barcelona,

:04:26.:04:33.

1992. Given the efficiency, tennis players have. Not so the golfers, it

:04:34.:04:37.

would seem. I think that will change. Strange comments coming out

:04:38.:04:46.

from the Gulf. We will see if this is a one-time thing, or it will

:04:47.:04:54.

improve next time around. They have two shots at it. There are the

:04:55.:05:01.

changeover, Zimonjic doing all the tactical talk to his partner. The

:05:02.:05:09.

British team, you just want them to combine a little bit better. Jamie

:05:10.:05:15.

Murray turning off, Dom Inglot going off. Now, they have one chance. Able

:05:16.:05:30.

to combine as a unit, on the terms. -- turn.

:05:31.:05:47.

That is what they are looking for, if you solid points in a row. The

:05:48.:05:58.

few solid points in a row. Doing a lot of talking towards the

:05:59.:06:23.

British bench, Jamie Murray, at the moment.

:06:24.:07:19.

Suddenly break point, after the forehand error deep.

:07:20.:08:42.

That is a big opportunity from Jamie Murray. I think he was struggling to

:08:43.:08:53.

see the ball a little bit. He had his dark glasses on, until about 20

:08:54.:08:55.

minutes ago. Coming from the light, into the

:08:56.:09:08.

shade, just as the players are taking their rackets back to hit.

:09:09.:09:15.

You get a bit worried, the British team not taking their chances.

:09:16.:09:33.

And now serving through shadow. If the ball comes back, not much time

:09:34.:09:42.

for the eyesight to adjust before playing the volley or half volley.

:09:43.:09:52.

Hard enough to see it on the TV screen, let alone Davis Cup.

:09:53.:10:12.

A couple of volleys from Dom Inglot. They are both on the baseline, that

:10:13.:10:24.

is where you need to be getting, more chance of winning the rally

:10:25.:10:25.

than going the other way. That is a very fine hulled,

:10:26.:11:56.

considering he was having difficulty seeing the ball coming out of the

:11:57.:12:01.

sun, into the shadows. Jamie Murray chatting to the umpire, not sure

:12:02.:12:07.

what that is about. Somebody at the back? Reflection? Could be anything.

:12:08.:12:18.

Definitely travel by something, Jamie Murray, in the last few games.

:12:19.:12:25.

If the umpire has somebody in mind, you could take the nine drummers and

:12:26.:12:40.

the brass section, then tell them to quieten. Not playing at their best

:12:41.:12:47.

of the British team, you feel if they can get somewhere back to their

:12:48.:12:51.

best, they could win this quite comfortably. Not combining as a

:12:52.:12:56.

unit. One has played pretty well, the other has dropped off. When one

:12:57.:13:04.

hits David Bell, then the other dozen follow-up. The teamwork is not

:13:05.:13:12.

quite been there. But they are still with serve. Don't want to get

:13:13.:13:17.

involved in the tie-breaker, if they can avoid it.

:13:18.:13:27.

That is a nice combination. Wonderful timing from Dom Inglot.

:13:28.:13:40.

Taking this into space, leaving his racket behind it. Not hitting it too

:13:41.:13:43.

hard. That was a bit close there. Good

:13:44.:14:07.

start to this game, though. Fantastic volley from Jamie Murray.

:14:08.:14:15.

Got some string on it. Ended up a very decent length.

:14:16.:14:27.

What a cross. Good combination. Perfect time to cross. Find it

:14:28.:15:02.

exactly right. Cannot believe you went for that, at

:15:03.:15:44.

that point. Virtual set point. Remember the backhand, stabbing away

:15:45.:15:50.

at 4-4 in the second set. He does believe he's going to make the

:15:51.:15:59.

shots. That is beautifully done again. Could have messed that

:16:00.:16:03.

backhand up. Keeping it really tight. Short swing, very strong

:16:04.:16:11.

anyway. Two break point saved. He loves it.

:16:12.:16:25.

Fantastic. So quick, you could hardly see it. What happened? The

:16:26.:16:46.

reflex is. Came at him so fast. Third break point against the

:16:47.:16:48.

Zimonjic serve. when you are serving, you want to

:16:49.:18:57.

look at it. Certainly the surface breaking up.

:18:58.:19:19.

Jamie Murray does have the ability, the hand eye coordination to get the

:19:20.:19:27.

full download. That is the key in doubles. Another opportunity, to his

:19:28.:19:30.

partner, Dom Inglot. It is a double fault. That is the

:19:31.:19:53.

way he lost his serve in the first set. Having played so valiantly to

:19:54.:20:01.

keep his team in the game, what a horrible way for it to go. Not so

:20:02.:20:03.

happy now. Great Britain serving Faure 2-1

:20:04.:20:26.

serve -- set lead. Dom Inglot, this Londoner of Polish descent, strong,

:20:27.:20:31.

he will not leave anything in the locker here.

:20:32.:21:18.

A spectacular game, up to this point. Backing up the break with

:21:19.:21:22.

some heat. Three set points. What way to it. Massive kick serve.

:21:23.:22:10.

Second serve ace. 2-1. What is -- a response to that second set

:22:11.:22:12.

tie-break. STUDIO: Certainly that game was key,

:22:13.:22:20.

breaking Zimonjic's serve. What a match we have had, now completely

:22:21.:22:24.

even. Digging themselves out of a hole at 15-40. Unbelievable double

:22:25.:22:31.

fault, from their most experienced guy on the court. You would not have

:22:32.:22:38.

expected that. The serve to win. Jamie had to have a big hole that

:22:39.:22:44.

1-1. A key game. Then Dom Inglot held from 0-30. Big cold at the

:22:45.:22:52.

start, for the momentum of the match. It has totally changed. Jamie

:22:53.:22:58.

Murray looked a bit unsettled. Not sure what was going on. Eventually

:22:59.:23:06.

they did break, 3-4. He does not have the ability to have the top

:23:07.:23:09.

screenshot. They block return gets it down to the feet of the server.

:23:10.:23:16.

What we have been the thing is the body language. The Serbians getting

:23:17.:23:21.

fired up. The British pair getting down on themselves. They have to

:23:22.:23:26.

impose themselves in the next set. It is the consistency, and Dominic

:23:27.:23:32.

and Jamie getting frustrated, flashes of good stuff, not stringing

:23:33.:23:38.

it altogether. That set May settle them down. Surprising that Zimonjic

:23:39.:23:44.

double-faulted. Felt like it would be the same situation, 0-40, in the

:23:45.:23:51.

second set, they did not get it, the Serbians' have their tails up. You

:23:52.:23:58.

did worry about it is a bit. We saw Andy Murray, but he gets terribly

:23:59.:24:02.

nervous watching Jamie. Probably watching from the safety of the

:24:03.:24:07.

locker room. And he's very conscious, if he is in shock, Jamie

:24:08.:24:11.

can see in getting agitated, does not particularly help. When Jamie is

:24:12.:24:18.

watching Andy, he is so calm. They are in front again, one set of

:24:19.:24:21.

weights in this crucial doubles match. Back to John and Andy.

:24:22.:24:32.

COMMENTATOR: The noise continues, so that this excellent doubles match.

:24:33.:24:38.

Britain 2-1 up. Some of the numbers. Strange sort of set. It was in the

:24:39.:24:47.

British team's hands. Not playing the points well enough until they

:24:48.:24:51.

got the combination going, in that one game, they both played well at

:24:52.:24:53.

the same time. That was the key. They have swept the court. Did not

:24:54.:25:02.

exactly time that right. Ironic, it is the Zimonjic serve

:25:03.:25:28.

that the British team have had the most test. The reason, in my

:25:29.:25:36.

opinion, Krajinovic never crosses. When Jamie Murray hits that plans

:25:37.:25:42.

return, under no pressure. He knows he has the whole area to aim at.

:25:43.:25:50.

Krajinovic is not poaching. They have broken him a couple of times.

:25:51.:25:54.

Not getting help from the man in your picture went after the net.

:25:55.:26:02.

That is the problem for the 17. -- for the Serbian team.

:26:03.:26:22.

Krajinovic trained with Nick Bollettieri in America, from the age

:26:23.:26:29.

of 13. Dom Inglot went to the University of Virginia, which is a

:26:30.:26:35.

college powerhouse in tennis. He has not come on as much as people

:26:36.:26:40.

thought, Krajinovic. Apparently got some huge contracts. I am not saying

:26:41.:26:48.

that is the reason why he went off. The money coming in. Has not made

:26:49.:26:54.

the breakthrough yet that a lot of people expected. Obviously very

:26:55.:27:02.

young, still. 24. That is young, into Dave Max Evans. -- into Dave's

:27:03.:27:16.

terms. Here we go, right away, break point. Can judge out of nothing.

:27:17.:27:26.

Krajinovic ambling in. The first step was no way, way behind the

:27:27.:27:28.

service line. Why not? Dom Inglot showing some

:27:29.:27:49.

grand stroke action. Down the line, break of serve out of nothing. That

:27:50.:27:57.

happened quickly. That second serve was so slow, it gave him the time to

:27:58.:28:02.

smack the second, getting the Textbook doubles. Dom Inglot, never

:28:03.:29:46.

won doubles in Davis Cup. Losing on his only two previous appearances,

:29:47.:29:50.

despite playing well. Here is the opportunity.

:29:51.:31:10.

He was lucky there. No communication between the two players. Yours,

:31:11.:31:18.

yours, I better take it! And beautiful. -- beautiful return.

:31:19.:31:57.

But he is standing there like a statue. There is no point if you are

:31:58.:32:00.

not going to move occasionally. They know they have three quarters of the

:32:01.:32:08.

court on these returns of serve. He has to make a move every now and

:32:09.:32:09.

then. Otherwise you have to keep hitting

:32:10.:32:19.

shots like that. Which are pretty good, but...

:32:20.:32:25.

But how is this? Look at this half-volley. Sweet as you like.

:32:26.:32:54.

The half-volley there are, he let that one go. He did not expect his

:32:55.:33:03.

partner to be getting this one. He had to cover almost the whole court.

:33:04.:33:58.

A fantastic half-volley again. The trouble is, he is having to play a

:33:59.:34:05.

lot more of these then he would like to. Excellent hands. Still a break

:34:06.:34:16.

to the British pairing. We just mention that Dom Inglot has played

:34:17.:34:20.

two and lost two. It makes it sound like he has not done a good job but

:34:21.:34:25.

you realise who he has played both times. The Bryans, both times. In

:34:26.:34:32.

San Diego in 2014, at the baseball stadium he played with Colin

:34:33.:34:37.

Fleming, and they lost in four sets. Then he played with Jamie Murray and

:34:38.:34:41.

they lost in Glasgow, 9-7 in the fifth. The Bryans have a combined

:34:42.:34:50.

226 doubles titles between them. It is ridiculous. So always set fair,

:34:51.:35:02.

and Leon Smith will be saying, more of the same. Put pressure on, and

:35:03.:35:10.

let's keep going. Doing great, lads. That is exactly right. When you are

:35:11.:35:19.

up, don't make things complicated. He is a very experienced captain and

:35:20.:35:22.

he will not be saying too much. Keep it ticking over.

:35:23.:35:56.

Jamie Murray, world number five now, number one back in April. To top the

:35:57.:36:03.

rankings in your chosen profession, to be number one in the world, that

:36:04.:36:07.

is pretty good. And he got there ahead of his brother. I think that

:36:08.:36:10.

will happen in singles one day. They should really have a

:36:11.:36:32.

walkie-talkie with your pieces, shouldn't they? --

:36:33.:36:42.

No doubt of this is the weaker of the two service. If you look at it

:36:43.:37:14.

in isolation. But Jamie Murray defends with some of the best hands

:37:15.:37:18.

you will see. -- weaker of the two serves.

:37:19.:37:26.

But the returners always have this serve in the site. Focusing on Dom

:37:27.:37:36.

Inglot to keep changing the view in the forecourt. Is he going to move

:37:37.:37:37.

left or right, is he going to stay? At this stage in the match, they

:37:38.:38:01.

cannot afford to make mistakes like that. A good chance to go up 15-30.

:38:02.:39:04.

And that changing view from the British pair the whole time. Making

:39:05.:39:13.

it so difficult to return, particularly for Zimonjic there. Dom

Inglot moving left, right, staying, up, back, the left-handed serve

:39:19.:39:25.

kicking in sometimes. That was one game closer to the finishing line

:39:26.:39:26.

for them. The number one nation at the moment

:39:27.:41:11.

in the Davis Cup rankings is Great Britain, the current holders. Back

:41:12.:41:16.

in 2010, their opponents today, Serbia won in this very city. Coming

:41:17.:41:22.

back from 2-1 down to defeat the French. And the honour of winning

:41:23.:41:27.

their fifth tie and following Novak Djokavic onto court was Viktor

:41:28.:41:34.

Troicki. Tipsarevic was dropped on the final day and Troicki came in,

:41:35.:41:39.

captain's pick, and won in straight sets against Michael Llodra. I

:41:40.:41:41.

wonder what will happen tomorrow. Captains play such an important

:41:42.:41:56.

role. Nowhere else in men's tennis to see the captain having such an

:41:57.:42:00.

input. Some players like to be spoken to, others like to be left

:42:01.:42:05.

alone. Absolutely, and you judge it on their personalities.

:42:06.:43:11.

Excellent hold. Very solid on the server. -- on the serve.

:43:12.:44:33.

This is where they have had the most success, the British team. They were

:44:34.:44:43.

broken in the eighth game. Of the previous set. They have had chances.

:44:44.:44:45.

Lost on a tie-break. He needs to tell his partner to

:44:46.:46:31.

move, to cross. Jamie Murray has been getting in the groove on the

:46:32.:46:33.

service, you need to change it up. He crossed! Marry just catching it a

:46:34.:47:10.

little bit late. That is good doubles. -- Jamie Murray.

:47:11.:47:26.

Seriously! Why would you go for that? That is such bad play. He

:47:27.:47:39.

could easily have got back and put up a skyscraper Labe. On such a big

:47:40.:47:43.

point. -- skyscraper lob. Dom Inglot now with the whip hand,

:47:44.:48:41.

seeing the ball on the return. Possibly a hip issue for Zimonjic.

:48:42.:50:22.

Two hours and 20 minutes of a match, probably an hour's practice the

:50:23.:50:28.

forehand. 40 years of age, it certainly does not get easier. This

:50:29.:50:32.

man with vast experience which he will try to bring to bear here but

:50:33.:50:36.

it is difficult with Ingle at serving. You may or may not get a

:50:37.:50:42.

chance. -- with Dom Inglot serving. With Jamie, you generally get a

:50:43.:50:47.

chance to knock it back, but his hands are so good.

:50:48.:51:14.

Every tie is a home tie. With Stirling University there, it really

:51:15.:51:19.

is a home comfort when you are a long way from home.

:51:20.:51:30.

Two very good volleys from Jamie Murray.

:51:31.:51:43.

Pulled the racket heads down to sharply.

:51:44.:51:57.

Very cross with himself. I think he knew where that was going. Almost

:51:58.:52:10.

had too much time here. That would have cost him a few thousand pounds

:52:11.:52:11.

at Wimbledon. That was a much better serve. Into

:52:12.:52:24.

the body. So they know, the big server, Dom

:52:25.:54:50.

Inglot, will put pedal to the metal in the next game whatever. Good

:54:51.:54:54.

start. A battle of reflexes between Jamie

:54:55.:56:12.

Murray and Zimonjic. A little treat there. Just a point away from asking

:56:13.:56:21.

a question of Inglot and Jamie Murray.

:56:22.:56:37.

Where did he play that from? Four or five feet behind his own service

:56:38.:56:49.

line, we were amazed when Roger Federer would casually stroll in and

:56:50.:56:52.

play half volleys. Now it is awake, and down comes the

:56:53.:57:16.

umpire to check it. Jamie Murray has no doubt.

:57:17.:57:30.

Leon Smith would be happy enough for it to finish here.

:57:31.:58:08.

SUE BARKER: Great Britain will serve for this match. Just to warn you

:58:09.:58:13.

we're going to have to move channels in just a minute or so to make way

:58:14.:58:17.

for the BBC News. The end of this match may be over on BBC Two. We

:58:18.:58:24.

will give you further warning. Did you get nervous when you were

:58:25.:58:31.

serving out yourself? Do you think Dom Inglot will be? I think you

:58:32.:58:36.

will. This is the chance for his first Davis Cup title match. He will

:58:37.:58:41.

be trying to calm himself down. It will be the old cliche, but it is

:58:42.:58:46.

one point at the time. You visualise where the serve is going and you try

:58:47.:58:49.

to block out the rest as much as you can. But this is a big match for

:58:50.:58:55.

both British players. Dom Inglot, he will want to get his first win down.

:58:56.:59:01.

He is certainly eager. A bit too eager. He took a nice, deep breath

:59:02.:59:05.

there. Great Britain in this quarterfinal

:59:06.:59:23.

of the Davis Cup. Serving for a 2-1 lead.

:59:24.:59:40.

SUE BARKER: Huge apologies, we are having to leave this match here on

:59:41.:59:47.

BBC One but we will pick up on BBC Two in just a few seconds so if you

:59:48.:59:49.

want to watch the
