Hello. A busy show for you tonight, with four matches, loads of goals

and the rest of the weekend's action and we'll also throw in Danny Murphy

and Trevor Sinclair to analyse everything. Yes, they are wearing

identical cardigans. Let's get that out of the way and not break social

media with its! We start at Vicarage Road, Watford against Manchester you

united. The resumption of a big rivalry in Italian football.

Our story begins in 2009 with an upset. Mat sorry's side knocked into

Milan out of the cup. A year later, Matsari, now conduct at Napoli,

holds them to a goalless draw. Matsari bites back. Enter stage left

the chairman to proclaim Matsari as his special one. Mourinho can't

resist. But Joe is a's move to Madrid queues and intermission in

the feud and Matsari, these peacemaker, says he and his vote now

sing from the same sheet. So they will stage -- share the stage once

more. Matsari insists 3-point debate would

only be another victory. Mourinho will be only too aware of the

importance of Manchester United getting the right notes again.

Sebastian Prodl comes in to defend. Etienne Capoue has scored three

times in the last four games. Jose Mourinho makes three changes from

their Manchester derby defeat last weekend. Into defence comes Chris

Smalling. There is a recall for Anthony Martial and, for the first

time in the Premier League under Mourinho, there a start for Marcus

Rashford. Watford have lost their last nine league meetings with

Manchester United. Last time, they lost three in a row at home in the

top flight, it was back in 1998. A Watford throw. Jose Holebas is

preparing to launch the long one. Beaten to it by Marouane Fellaini.

He felt they might have been a notch. Well, Marouane Fellaini did

have hold of his shirt. One for Michael Oliver to keep an eye on.

Foul play, Ibrahimovic. In from Jose Holebas and even came Sebastian

Prodl, unmarked. Just watch the Austrian, Sebastian Prodl. Nobody

picks him up. Might have crept in. Deeney couldn't get there. Mourinho

has lost 13 of his last 30 games as a manager. Jose Holebas with the

probe. -- with the throw. That should be to David de Gea, but it's

a horrible mix-up and an equally horrible mess from Odion Ighalo.

What a let off for Manchester United. Never mind goal of the

month, this is certainly the myth of the month. Complete breakdown in

communication between Roberto Guerrero and Chris Smalling. Walter

Matsari can't believe it and neither can their top scorer last season.

Deeney finds it galop. Daryl Janmaat finds position. In towards Deeney!

David de Gea equal to it. That is where Deeney is such a threat will

stop he had a good run at Valencia. Just looking a little ruffled, Man

United at the moment. He isn't extremely happy either. Can

Manchester United break? Rash that has got four up with him. Across

towards Ibrahimovic! He might have expected that to finish in the back

as opposed to the site of the net. A good break with pace. When this came

through to Man United's top scorer, I expected a fifth league goal.

Couldn't quite steer it on target. England manager watching on. Cleared

by Jose Holebas. Both players, Marshall and Jose

Holebas, with their eye on the ball. Good to see both players back on

their feet. Paul Pogba has hit the crossbar! It

was something out of nothing here. The world's most expensive player.

Look at Gomez! He thinks that's sailing over the crossbar. Just

watch the dip. It almost sneaked in. That's gone against the Ivorian. In

opportunity for Watford to ask Manchester United a question from a

set play. Still all forward, including Odion

Ighalo, head of Fellaini. Cleared only as far as Jose Holebas.

Manchester United managed to defend that one. No foul. Here is Daryl

Janmaat, pulled back to Etienne Capoue! Watford lead, courtesy of

their man of the moment. Four goals in five games for Etienne Capoue.

After just won -- one in his previous 57, he can't stop scoring.

Manchester United upset they didn't get a free kick, but the Frenchman

isn't concerned about that. It's Daryl Janmaat who pulled it back

after that challenge on Anthony Martial, despite the efforts of

David de Gea. He couldn't keep it out. Good awareness from Janmaat.

This is the challenge they were unhappy about, the challenge by

Miguel Britos on Anthony Martial. Does he gets the ball? Just. Anthony

Martial is only gingerly back on his feet. He had a blow to the head

earlier on. There is some concern about the Frenchman. Certainly

concern on Jose Mourinho's face. Anthony Martial, incidentally, has

gone down the tunnel. He isn't coming back on. Ibrahimovic on to be

slipped. Terrific challenge from Sebastian Prodl. -- Ibrahimovic onto

it. A vital one from the Argentinian international. 22 players spanning

18 different nationalities so far, Walter Matsari. It is a league of

Nations. In his brief career, we have seen

those fly to the top corner already. Just about sums Manchester United up

so far today. Just snatched at this. Watford have been excellent in

possession. Far more comfortable at the moment. Ibrahimovic is going

deeper and deeper to get the ball, trying to drive Manchester United

forward. It was Rashford, it was close, and then following up! Marcus

Rashford with the equaliser, his first Premier League start under

Jose Mourinho is marked with a goal, and how his manager and his team

needed that. Ibrahimovic was the one who began it. Linking up with

Rashford. Didn't make the header, but he didn't give it up. He just

clicked on with excellent instinct. The 18-year-old was there again. --

he just flexed. Terrific header from Ibrahimovic. He certainly attacked

that with real intent. Such a danger in the air. Really good contact.

Heurelho Gomes was alert, but a good, strong hand to that.

Potentially frustrating afternoon, as it stands. Etienne Capoue is

departing with eight minutes to go. Juan Zuniga, the Colombian on a

season-long loan from Napoli. He worked there with Walter Matsari.

Amrabat. Good movement from Roberto Pereyra a ruck. It's the substitute,

Zuniga! What an introduction! He's only been on the pitch just over 60

seconds. And the Colombian scores his first goal for Watford to

restore their lead. With seven minutes to go. Amrabat had a look

up, he found Roberto Pereyra a ruck, and that was brilliant, as was the

finish from the 30-year-old on loan from Napoli. He swept it past David

de Gea. Nobody got with him. Look at the space he had. And he certainly

made the most of it. That's what happens when a substitution pays

off. So many things to think about. Success.

Success going, Zuniga... Penalty. Caught by Fellaini. 93rd minute.

Michael Oliver points to the spot. Zuniga went to turn away. No doubt

he caught it, and it could get even better for Watford and even worse

for Manchester United. Troy Deeney, who scored 18 of 21 penalties in his

Watford career, has the opportunity to seal a memorable victory here for

his team. Which he does. In unceremonious fashion. And Watford

will celebrate this day. Manchester United fans stunned. A thumping

penalty from Deeney. Walter Matsari, for the second time, as the winning

feeling in the Premier League. For him, in eight days, in all

competitions, three consecutive defeats. Watford 3, Manchester

United 1. Some of the boys are having

difficulty to cope with that negativity and then you come to a

second day in a row and you have a similar situation. You don't deserve

to lose. In your best moment you concede the goal. Again a crucial

decision of the game that affects the result, but I was telling the

players immediately now they have to cope, more difficult, easier,

depends on their personalities. I could see I gave them as an example,

Ashley Young mentality, the happiness, the confidence he brought

to the game is something that more players, they need to have this kind

save that is. That was the theme of the first half. Wanting it more.

Ighalo first to the ball. This is again training ground work. Ighalo

gets the ball. Another good cross. Too many times Watford were first

with Nair contacts -- their contacts in the box and got the lead. You

showed the concentration and the desire. You need both. You have have

to take the game to them. Jose Mourinho wasn't happy that the first

goal stood, do you agree. To a certain extent, yes. Martial had the

ball. Hess in his own final third and should be clearing the ball. He

has two men closing him down. But he doesn't and for me, Britos comes

through him and it is quite aggressive. I think it is excessive

force and he is shielding the ball with his body. You can understand

why Mourinho is disappointed. It is not that obvious at match tempo to

the eye. Michael Oliver didn't think it was a foul. But for me it was a

foul. They have still got plenty of bodies behind the ball and should

deal with the situation. You look at Fellaini, she gets kraun into the --

drawn into the box. That goal should haven't stood. Even when they did

get away with the foul they should be able to mark that. As Steve said,

fourth goal of season, he has only had five shots. Do you think it

should have stood. At the time I thought it was a free kick. Some

refs give it and some don't. Clearure lines. He has had a knock

spark. Zuniga came on, on loan from Napoli. He wanted the ball. I will

What a pull back this is and a calm finish. Considering he had just come

on the pitch. That is his first touch. For United, this is where

they will be annoyed. They are set up fine. Shaw should be closer to

the ball, yes. Pogba points, take my mine. Fellaini, instead of saying

you stay with him, tries to do it and leaves hiss man. Let's give the

lad some credit. What a finish. Well worked goal. Super technique. Talk

about sharp shooting, that is so accurate. That is what you want as a

manager, you bring a player on and you want him to make a positive

impact and two touches later they're 2-1 up. A final thing, we say this

every year. They have changed the manager, brought in new players and

settle them in well. You have to give credit to the players who are

constant like Deeney, to help the new ones. You need that continuity

and you have the call, Ighalo and Deeney, so important to this team.

Ighalo stayed, there was telephone numbers being talked about for him

to go to China. They have kept him and he is worth his weight in goal.

We can talk systems and who should play, until the cows come home -

whatever system you come up with, you need your players to be able to

pass the ball to each other? Basics. It is sometimes inexplicable why top

players can't do the basics right. United were guilty of that. This is

De Gea, boast keeper in the Premier League and Smalling, no

communication. Fall over each other. Should be a goal down. It was all

over the pitch. Pogba, not playing with any zip or confidence. Gives

the ball away. Rooney, who is one of best passers in the league, kicks it

out of play. He is getting frustrated. Trying long passes when

Watford are in a solid position. Pogba again you would think they

would have more tempo. Shaw this time, big space down the side.

Sloppily pass. There was 20 or 30 of these. It is just unlike these

players. They have set themselves such high standards. You don't see

that from Wayne Rooney. He is so much better than that. It is a poor

cross and to top things off you have your right-footed centre-half having

a left-footed volley. Decision-making was ridiculous at

time. They will need to react next week. You say he is normally so

reliable, Rooney, if you look at what a lot of people are saying, you

see that from Wayne Rooney almost every week. Does Mourinho have a

problem with him and does he have to take him out of side? I don't think

so. Even on current form. No, listen none of the Manchester United

players covered themselves in glory. It is the position he is in. He is a

No 4 or a holding midfielder now. He does not have the mobility or the

pace he had. I think if you play him alongside Michael Carrick and Pogba

could then get forward, I think that is how you could play him. I think

talking when Danny says that five-yard pass, the simple passes

were going astray, I think that is the game plan, they're not sure. Are

they still trying to put players into positions that are not

necessarily their natural ones? I don't think so. In the middle of the

park you need someone who can play short and long and progressively and

that is not Fellaini. He should stick Rooney in there. Thank you.

Our second match is Stoke against Crystal Palace.

Wins have been hard to come by for these two. Crystal Palace got off

the mark against Middlesbrough last weekend. But Stoke's winless start

threatens to become the same as last season when they needed half a dozen

games to record a victory. Stoke welcome back Glen Johnson.

Bojan also starts. Zaha striding forward. Halted by

Arnautovic. Free kick Crystal Palace. Zaha scored the winning goal

last week. Couldn't find a way through that time. Still a decent

position for Crystal Palace. Townsend curls it in and it is in.

Tompkins was there at the far post. And Crystal Palace lead Stoke City

in the ninth minute of the game. James Tompkins claiming the Gil.

Goal. The header comes off Walters, but I think it got a touch off Tom

kinls. This has not been a happy hunting ground for sfoebg. Stoke.

Zaha up for the header. That will be another corner to Crystal Palace.

Oh, it is 2-0! There is no doubt about that goal! Scott Dann for

Palace. What a zart for the home side. Two goals inside a three

minute spell and Stoke are in big trouble here early at Selhurst Park.

The ball goes straight past Bojan. A fierce Medder into the back of the

net. Martins Indi straight across and a

free kick. Townsend will take this free kick. Whipped into the near

post and beaten away by Given. Townsend looking for the bottom

corner. Applause around Selhurst Park from everyone in the ground in

support of pat Soares he was in a car accident last weekend. He faces

several months out of action. Crystal Palace forced to make a

change at the start of the second half. Delaney is on. Tompkins who,

scored the first goal, has had to go off with a knee injury.

Bojan with the challenge and conceding a foul. Andros Townsend

delivers the ball. A dangerous looking one. Bounces behind. And it

has been given as a corner to Crystal Palace. That was an awkward

one as the ball swirled into the area.

Puncheon's ball in and Dann's header and it is off the line. Scott Dann

evading his marker. Another towering header. Danger still not cleared

from Stoke's point of view. Nice bit of skill, a dangerous ball

and Zaha tries to turn it in. What a scramble and Stoke survive. Zaha

unable to turn it home and in the end Cameron bringing the ball away.

Townend with a chance to send the ball in. Well claimed by Shay Given.

There is a yellow card being shown for an incident in the far corner.

Being shown to Arnautovic. The play will be brought back. Floated in by

Puncheon. Taken off Benteke's head. McArthur. Shooting chance and a

deflection puts it in. 3-0 Crystal Palace. Nothing Shay Given could do

that as the ball hit Cameron and flew into the back of the net.

McArthur, it opened up for him. The ball takes a strong deflection off

Cameron. Three goals and surely three points in the bag for Palace.

Stoke City are at home to Hull in the League Cup on Wednesday, hosting

West Bromwich Albion next weekend and then Manchester United away. Now

there are big holes appearing, as Townsend comes galloping forward

with puncheon alongside him. He fancied himself! Andros Townsend

with a cracker! He plunged it into the bottom corner of Shay Given's

net, and Stoke City conceded four goals in a match for the third time

in the opening five games of the season. Townsend absolutely loving

the freedom and space. Cutting inside. He wanted that one for

himself. It was out Shay Given's reach, and Andros Townsend, the

summer signing from Newcastle, has his first goal for Crystal Palace.

Wilfried Bony! Oh, and a great chance goes begging for Stoke City.

Wilfried Bony couldn't take advantage.

This margin of victory, the equal biggest for Crystal Palace in the

Premier League Iraq, they had a 5-1 win against Newcastle last year

Walters puts it wide. Stoke City's afternoon was summed up in an

instant. Walters did well to bring the ball under control, evading his

marker but guiding the shot wide of the post.

day, but Stoke City on the board, and Marko Arnautovic with almost the

last kick of the game finally gets the ball past Steve Mandanda.

It was the last kick of the game. Crystal Palace enjoying back-to-back

Premier League wins for the first time in 2016, but the problems are

piling up for Stoke City and Mark Hughes. One point 15 matches as they

prop up the rest of the division. Crystal Palace 4, Stoke City 1. We

have been good for five hearts, but that was the endgame today. We've

been working all summer to change this team to a more effective,

powerful one, and we got there today. Clearly this isn't what we

expected. It's a similar group, we haven't made big changes. It's a

case of getting together and making sure of what we are doing, in terms

of our game plan and how we execute what we want to do. It needs to be

at a better level. I was pleased for my contribution. I was bought for

this club to score goals. It helped us get three points in the Premier

League. To be fair to him, he hasn't been really brilliant going forward

for us this season, but he's done everything else and you know it's

going to come and today he was on fire. His crossing, his shooting, if

movement. He is on the money. Does it add to your frustration that you

had a similar slow start last season, with half a dozen games

before the team started going? We are shipping too many goals. That's

unlike us. The dressing room has good talent and we need to bring

that out and get back on track. Crystal Palace, you like the balance

of this team. The fans have an identity, the team has an identity

and you know what shape they are going to play with. They have got

two winners, Wilfried Zaha and Townsend, get the ball wide and into

the box for Christian Benteke it. When you look at Townsend's

contribution the day, incredible. Look at Glen Johnson, played with

him when he was a kid. He's not a kid any more and he's working hard

from day one. The quality of the balls from both right and left was

superb from Townsend. Fantastic finish. This is without looking.

He's been picked out. That shows how much the team know the shape. He

wins a foul. He got let go by Tottenham, he missed out on the

Euros for England, and he has dusted himself down. Like the manager said,

he's not been superb but you've got to say, on this performance,

outstanding. On both wings as well. Yeah, I think people have short

memories. When he started playing really well for Spurs after Gareth

Bale left for Real Madrid, they were not talking about Gareth Bale

because this boy was going so well. He got an injury and couldn't quite

get back into the side. He has dusted himself down, reinvented

himself and if he continues like that, he has to be in the starting

line-up. Because you are used to him scoring with his right and coming in

with his left. When you have both feet, it makes you special with an

opportunity to play both sides. When you look at the talented wide men

around the Premier League, it's all about end product. More of the same,

for sure. They didn't have a great start last season. But the thing

this season is the amount of goals they have conceded. Especially from

set pieces. We have seen in the second game this season against

Manchester City, they conceded a penalty from a set piece. I think

they are a bit wary of the third game against Everton in the

following week. Again, conceding a penalty from a set piece. It seems

they are so affected in what has happened earlier in the season. Now

they are getting touch type but no physicality in there. They are

scared of giving another penalty away. They just don't get close

enough. It's far too easy. The first goal, they are 1-0 down, plenty of

bodies, everyone in the right position, a bit of movement. Scott

Dann is one of the best headers of the ball in the Premier League. The

attacks so well. They don't get near him. Shawcross is normally good at

that. They worked a lot on set plays so it makes it even more shocking

that they are conceding so many. These adventures -- subconscious

effect, they might give a penalty away, but they need to pick

themselves up quickly. If you are still down there after ten games,

it's hard to get back. They conceded so many goals in 2016. They have

been singled out early in the season and other teams haven't been

punished in the same way. They are suffering because they haven't been

as physical. They will get through it because they have to. Two more

matches on the way. Saturday's show is on from midnight tonight.

Next up, Spurs against Sunderland. Is not been the brightest start at

the safety -- Stadium Of Light for David Moyes. People are feeling flat

because we haven't dramatically changed anything. A season of

struggle predicted by some. A trip to Tottenham to overcome. Christian

Eriksen looks like he has won the game for Tottenham. They haven't

beaten 12 in -- beaten Spurs in 12 games. All positive signs for

Pochettino. His side returned to their White Hart Lane home after a

night under the lights at Wembley. But as Champions League defeat

dented Spurs's confidence or can they get the title challenging form

of last season? Your commentator is Jonathan Pearce.

We didn't perform on the night at Wembley, admits Mauricio Pochettino,

who is calling for an important reaction from the players as they

returned to home, sweet home. Sunderland have lost 13 of 15

Premier matches there. Sissoko makes his full debut for Spurs and Mr

Dembele nixes first start this season. -- makes his first start.

Eric Dier dropped deeper into centre-half. Sunderland had to make

a last-minute change. Lee Cattermole, his first appearance

of the campaign after injury. Pienaar returns to the starting

line-up at his own ground, where Defoe remains the Premier League's

second highest goal-scorer. Tottenham in the lilywhite and navy

blue kick us off, kicking from right to left. Sunderland's away kit.

They're with the Spurs touch is Jason Denayer, who was called into

the starting line-up in virtually the last minute of the warm up. It

was the untold Patrick Van Aanholt that he was playing in place of the

former Chelsea player, who apparently had an injury. He looked

a bit confounded with the news, but there he is playing no part this

afternoon. Harry Kane at the near post!

Brilliantly kicked out. The manager has absolute faith in young Jordan

Pickford, and that is a fine reaction save. They had to use the

width against a packed defence. Walker, Sissoko. The young

goalkeeper blocks it bravely. Sissoko trying to get away from his

man. Alderweireld! Stuck in the hands of the 22-year-old keeper.

That's long for Defoe to chase. Walker has gone with him. Jermain

Defoe! Nearly crept in between the legs of Hugo Lloris. This is

Sunderland's first first half effort on target in four Premier League

matches. Nearly made its way past the goalkeeper.

Oh, it may well have clipped the post on its way through! Pickford

fuming at Januzaj, who didn't make anything of a challenge, didn't

cover back, didn't track back, and it did hit the foot of the post.

That's the closest we've come to a goal. Spurs have now had 16 first

half efforts. That's a Premier League high by any club this

campaign so far. A slip-up by Januzaj! Very nearly in

by Pienaar. Sissoko's effort at breaking away

stopped by Javi Manquillo, who is getting a yellow card. Excellent

defending by Eric Dyer. -- Eric Dier. Sunderland, after withstanding

though much pressure, nearly scoring at the end of the half.

Sissoko. Still got the cross in. Pickford has kept it out. He claims

a corner goalkick. -- he claims a corner, goalkick given. He recovered

it very well. Such a dangerous cross.

Walker, Sissoko. Walker with the cross. It comes to Harry Kane!

He's had to wait so patiently for an opportunity, while others have had

them and squandered them. Dele Alli got up, and it was a bad mistake by

Djilobodji, who couldn't get it away, but he should have done. If in

doubt, get it out, and he didn't. Kane pounced. Tottenham with 85% of

second half possession, but they'll just have a nagging feeling that the

job isn't done. Here is their reality -- is Dele Alli. He very

nearly didn't need it. Strong hands again by Jordan Pickford. He's had

an excellent afternoon. Creating an astonishing number of efforts on

goal. The Sunderland fans enraged, they

felt Januzaj was held. If Spurs score on that counter, Sunderland

would fume. Januzaj has been booked for dissent I think. Sunderland were

complaining that Davies was holding on to Januzaj and it was certainly a

good claim. He carried on complaining and for that Mike Dean

pulls out the yellow card. Kane is down for Spurs. He is

holding his right ankle. That is a concern. Cattermole has given it

away. Ion lop-sided. There -- Sunderland lop-sided. I think a goal

kick has been given. I felt the keeper saved is it. It is a really

good save. Finger tips by Pickford. He has been outstanding. Spurs'

victory is moments away, but at what sort of a cost? That is a bad, bad,

looking one for Harry Kane. He went over on his ankle. That is a nasty

one. Januzaj caught him late. He has already been booked. He has just got

himself in the game and he will play no further part in the game. Booked

on 80 minutes. Sent off on 89. Poor challenge. Caught him late. Foot was

high. And I doubt he will have any sympathy from his manager

whatsoever. The goal scorer leaves on a stretcher. I wonder if that is

a precaution. But he went over on his ankle and always a concern that.

Lamela. Pickford reacted again smartly at

the near post. That was lashing into the top corner. It has finished.

Spurs should have put the game to bed a long, long time ago and won it

far more comfortably than they did. Today always we try, try to go

forward. Always we feel disappointed, because we created a

lot of chances in the first half to try to score. But the good thing is

that we try, try and try and then we get the goal and that is important.

Three points today. I don't think anybody should forget the level of

the task we have got. It is a big job. I'm sure I see it each week and

I know how much it has to get better. All we have to do is try and

get it betemplt I will enjoy that. We are disappointed, because we

scored just one goal. But it is important that we get three points

against this team, it is a difficult game and we are happy to get the

points. Were the preparations thrown because of injury to van Aanholt.

What happened. It was a medical decision. That is as much as we are

windfalling to say at this time. -- as much as we are willing to say.

He was the reason why Spurs were not much more comfortable. Claiming

crosses. Commanding his box. All types of saves and showed great

character. He has been on loan in the lore leagues. -- lowers leagues.

He showed today that he is so desperate to stay in goal and that

what you want from a young player. You don't mind him making the odd

mistake. This was the best. They didn't even get a corner, it was

that faint a touch. But it just takes it outside the post. Not only

his saves and how he made great decisions in the box, but with his

feet and if he carries on like this there might be a certain Pep

Guardiola might be interested. They will have the whole sweeper keeper

debate. He did make more passes than any Sunderland player and made the

joint equal number of saves for the season so far. Spurs were efficient

and they have had a good start to the season. But Sunderland allowed

them to be efficient. There is a gulf in quality between the two

sides. I feel Spurs are way above what Sunderland can compete with.

You look at the game and it is 15 minutes to go. They're losing 1-0,

Sunderland and sure think game plan has to change and let's have a

squeeze. Let's try and win the ball back. But this is is all too easy.

Think must come from the manager and change the game plan and make sure

the players know and it has to be a big change to press and give

themselves a chance of getting back in the game. It feels like we talk

presses a lot -- pressing a lot and whether teams do it. When you see a

team not doing it in t last 15 minutes. You assume it is because

the manager has said, our tactics are sitting back. If they get beat

2-0, they still get no points. If this is the kind of press they're

putting on - Danny could still play! I thought Sunderland fans, they have

gone down there to London and they deserve at least an effort where

they could go for it. It might be tiredness. Maybe he said win the

ball back and they didn't have the energy back. A couple of

substitutes. There is nothing wrong with going to a team who are better

than you and respecting them and being hard to beat. When they went a

goal down, they struggled to change their game plan. Partly fitness,

partly the manager's fault for not having a plan B. If you haven't a

striker, stick a centre-half up there. There was no help for Defoe.

He had four touches in the second half. Two were kick offs. He will

score goals if you get him balls around the box. You give him too

touches in a half and you're asking for miracles. He showed what he

could do last year. There has to be a different mentally ti when they go

a -- mentality when they go a goal down, or they're in big trouble.

against Swansea. With Rodriguez out, Austin is preferred up front as

Claude Puel looks for his first Premier League victory as

Southampton manager. Neil Taylor is not involved.

Fraser Forster he stretches and is just able to get it away. It was a

good game with many chances. And the result, it's important to keep a

good attitude. I say congratulations to my players. Southampton deserved

to win and they won. I don't know why, but for us, not a good

performance. We have to improve in all different situations. We have to

improve, but soon. Because it's not a good period for us. The fans gave

us a platform and we knew we needed a win in the league. Today, we

showed it. For me, I like to be in the box and score, but to be honest

I should have had three. Francesco Guidolin says they need to improve

and quickly, and he's right, because 1-0 flattered Swansea. It did. They

had a few bright spells but not many. Southampton dominated for long

periods, they tore them to threads at times. So many good performances,

but Redmond claimed that new central role was fantastic. -- playing that

new central role. The manager deserves great credit for putting

him in that role because he has been a white man for so long. At times

last year at Norwich he was left out of the team. -- a wide man for so

long. Low centre of gravity, good decision-making as well. Willing to

work for the team and try and win the ball back, to win in high areas.

It's what you always want with talented players on the pitch. They

were terrified of him and he caused them all sorts of problems. A good

pass for Shane Long, nearly get them off the mark. The only

disappointment for him today was that he didn't score but if he keeps

playing like this he'll keep getting chances. Nice and confident, takes

the shot on, get underneath it. He'll get that at that the more he

finds himself in those positions. This bit is brilliant, and now it's

not. The type of finish you'd expect to see Trevor make! He didn't stop

though. He didn't get down. He is onside in the replay. Unselfish,

setting it up but this allowed. Man of the Match by a mile, and he was

the difference between the teams in the final third. To all intents and

purposes, he is their Sadio Mane replacement, and again it influences

-- illustrates the good work of their recruitment system. For every

player they might lose, they have different options in their war room.

They know who they can bring in next. They've got a good system.

Sadio Mane, he has big boots to fill. With that kind of performance,

he is halfway there. With recruitment, they've got a fantastic

system at Southampton and they seem to be able to let players go time

and again and to fill those places with decent players for less money.

Which was the worst miss of the afternoon? We will throw a Watford

one in as well. You are going to see the Nathan Redmond one first. Wow.

Bendy Charlie Austin one. This one isn't so bad because the pace is

ramming. He kicks it too hard, leaning back. Still a horrendous

miss for a man of his quality. The Odion Ighalo one. He's got to score,

but it is a half volley, more difficult. And its further out. I'm

giving it to Redmond. He's got to get it. He can take that. Part one

Park, Everton look like they had good intentions, looked after the

ball, good game plan and more belief. Good going forward, as they

always have been in recent years, but three goals conceded, full-backs

staying home when the others are going forward, simple staff. A

centre-half who is a talker. Signing Idrissa Gueye, who, I have to be

honest, didn't look half the player last year. He got a lot of the stats

back up for Villa but he got lost the malaise. That can happen, but he

looks like steel. His performance at the weekend was sensational. With

that extra quality of Yannick Bolasie, they could have a very good

season. Now the rest of the weekend's golds.
