sides join the party. So much experience at the back for

the Russians. They provide the bulk of this 11.

This is Lee Chung-yong, the Bolton man, who is a very tricky customer,

but injuries have done him no favours over the last couple of

years. I would imagine, Martin, the South

Korean game, we have seen them in eight consecutive world cups and

semifinalists on home soil in 2002, fitness and workrate is generally

what they had been about. You would imagine they would want to force the

Zhirkov, used to play as a full-back and they're playing as a left winger

and very effective in the final third.

They are an experienced unit, the backline, goalkeeper and the two

central defenders. From CSKA Moscow, a great knowledge of each

other's game. There will be no surprises amongst those team-mates.

Kokorin the centre forward, he's great off the shoulder but doesn't

really hold the ball up which is difficult when you are trying to

mount attacks. South Korea in a hurry to take the

free kick. the major clubs. Augsburg and Mainz,

Queens Park Rangers, with all due respect, the same calibre of club.

They like those little triangles. Samedov making a good run from deep,

you need the third man running to make it possible.

Kim Young-gwon with the mistake, it is going to be a corner. Under no

real pressure as well. It could be costly. None of the South

Olympics 2012, when they won the bronze, beating their great rivals

almost running into trouble for South Korea.

Good one too. Kim Young-gwon it was a surprise to me that Michael

Laudrup allowed him to go out on-loan. He did well in keeping them

up. I wouldn't say he did it single-handed? He adds something to

any team he plays in. Ignashevich not much more than a throw upfield.

Here's Yeshchenko. So far the South Korean goalkeeper

untroubled, Jung Sung-ryong. They play an awful lot of friendly

matches, South Korea. They have played as many games over the last

two years, more than any other country in this World Cup. He has

not covered himself in glory. There were many who thought that it might

nothing to do. They won't have either if they are going to pass the

are trying to do with their triangles and the way they are

When it goes into Kokorin. He is not the quickest. It's asking a lot of

him, OK. He has to protect that ball for his team-mates to get up in

numbers to support him. I suppose, in some respects,

Kokorin's inclusion over Kerzhakov may be with half an eye on the

upcoming championships. You can't envisage him leading the line at 35.

Kokorin is 23 and may be leading the line at their own World Cup. He is

the future. You pick the best man for the job at that moment. If he's

in the squad, then pick him if he's better. Yeah.

left-back and it is only really recent times that, I suspect,

Capello being the kind of coach he is didn't want Zhirkov playing in

Koreans, even they are hot, and it can get pretty hot here. They have

my sympathy. I think this is here for the taking. Russia have been

slightly better, better shape to their team, better individuals but

at the moment, they just seem happy to get through it. I would like to

be a fly on the wall at half-time in Capello's dressing room. Makarova

that was wasteful. He couldn't have asked for much more, it was a lovely

header down. Son Heung-min is known for the quality of his striking of

the ball and not here. It is a woeful finish. He is trying to take

the leather off it. He is looking at the headlines tomorrow.
