Good evening. In tournaments gone by we would have started with music | :00:46. | :00:49.
from Elgar, paintings by Constable, a photo of Terry Butcher's bandaged | :00:49. | :00:54.
head and the stirring words of Lord Nelson. But England doesn't expect | :00:54. | :00:57.
like it used to. It's quite refreshing, and, who knows, it | :00:58. | :01:07.
:01:08. | :01:41. | ||
You are England. Forget the past, dare to dream. Dictate the play. Be | :01:41. | :01:49.
the general we know you can be. You'll take crosses, you will stop | :01:49. | :01:55.
shots, you will command your area. You are the waltz that must not be | :01:55. | :02:05.
:02:05. | :02:08. | ||
breached. Beachell man, pit your man. Never give in and never stop. | :02:08. | :02:17.
Take them on, show your talent. Take your chance. Defend until the | :02:17. | :02:27.
:02:27. | :02:28. | ||
England fans are heavily outnumbered by Swedish supporters, | :02:28. | :02:32.
by an anticipated four to one.The Swedes, of course, are based in | :02:32. | :02:38.
Kiev, whereas England have flown in from Poland. A slight away game | :02:38. | :02:46.
feel you suspect. It is Sweden against England. Here with us are | :02:46. | :02:54.
Alan Hansen, Alan Shearer and Lee Dixon. Kick-off has been delayed | :02:54. | :02:59.
and till 8pm because the other crane has been selected to a | :02:59. | :03:06.
weather to play -- too aware that delay after violent electrical | :03:06. | :03:14.
storm. They kicked off just after 6pm and are now in the second half. | :03:14. | :03:24.
:03:24. | :03:36. | ||
We will bring you the goals from that game later in the programme. | :03:36. | :03:42.
England against Sweden, it is a big occasion. I think if England play | :03:42. | :03:47.
well, they win. I think the manager and the players think that. I know | :03:47. | :03:52.
it is not the best England side we have ever seen but I still think we | :03:52. | :03:57.
are better than Sweden. I was disappointed in the first game with | :03:57. | :04:02.
Sweden. Defensively they are very poor. If they can get the right | :04:02. | :04:07.
service to Andy Carroll and Welbeck they will have the joy tonight. | :04:07. | :04:13.
Mixed opinions about England's first performance. The French was | :04:13. | :04:22.
gaping. They can certainly improve. There is a lot of improvement | :04:22. | :04:28.
possible going forward. We had one effort on target last night and two | :04:28. | :04:36.
off-target, which is not good enough. Our wide play was pretty | :04:36. | :04:43.
poor. The boys into Welbeck and Ashley Young were poor. Tonight, it | :04:43. | :04:49.
delivery will be important. We will look at that a bit later. | :04:49. | :04:59.
:04:59. | :05:01. | ||
Defensively, they were not really tasted the other night. -- tested. | :05:01. | :05:05.
England have to improve on the completion rate of their passes. | :05:05. | :05:10.
They have to improve all around. It was a creditable draw against the | :05:10. | :05:14.
French but the optimism has been lifted because Roy Hodgson has | :05:14. | :05:19.
changed the team said there is a different feel about the set-up. | :05:19. | :05:25.
Can we get the balls into the box? Now Ashley Young is playing on the | :05:25. | :05:30.
left-hand side. He has threatened up, which is good. I think we | :05:30. | :05:34.
should be expectant because I think this Swedish team is definitely | :05:34. | :05:39.
beatable. The important thing in the first game is to get a result, | :05:39. | :05:46.
so that is out of the way. Roy Hodgson is renowned for being | :05:46. | :05:56.
cautious, but I would be aggressive here. He has spent 40 years of his | :05:56. | :06:02.
career being quite cautious and now he is throwing in two forwards! | :06:02. | :06:08.
would be expected if it was not Sweden. We have not beaten them | :06:08. | :06:12.
competitively in seven games. But I am delighted to see Ashley Young on | :06:12. | :06:17.
the left-hand side because I think that is his best position. He did | :06:17. | :06:21.
not have his best game the other night for England. He did not get | :06:21. | :06:26.
into the game. I think tonight we will see him get that ball, it move | :06:26. | :06:31.
it on to his right foot and whippet in. It is made for Andy Carroll, | :06:31. | :06:41.
:06:41. | :06:41. | ||
this game. He will do an excellent job in a defensive role at set | :06:41. | :06:48.
pieces, as well. He was in his best form at the end of the season. He | :06:49. | :06:55.
looked stronger, fitter than he was at the start of the season. It is a | :06:55. | :07:00.
very sort of old-fashioned English style. When you look at the likes | :07:00. | :07:04.
of Spain you had 800 passes against the Irish. This is basically saying | :07:04. | :07:09.
we cannot play that way, let us play our style. We cannot play the | :07:09. | :07:14.
way Spain do, not many teams can. We are not good enough to play that | :07:14. | :07:18.
way and keep the ball. Yes, we have to keep the ball at times when it | :07:18. | :07:23.
is necessary and pass it a little bit better. Yes, get the ball out | :07:23. | :07:27.
wide and get it in, because that is where we will cause problems. In | :07:27. | :07:32.
this competition they have been a lot of goals from wide positions. | :07:32. | :07:35.
For Welbeck and Andy Carroll should be rubbing their hands tonight. | :07:35. | :07:42.
What you make of the Swedish starting line-up? They have changed | :07:42. | :07:50.
at centre-back, with Granqvist going out to the right and Jonas | :07:50. | :07:57.
Olsson coming in at centre back. They could not decide in the first | :07:57. | :08:00.
game whether they were going to play deep or higher up and that is | :08:00. | :08:06.
something they need to sort out early on. And that will also effect | :08:06. | :08:15.
the runs from Andy Carroll and Welbeck. Jonas Olsson, West Brom, | :08:15. | :08:22.
average player. Martin Olsson, relegated Blackburn, for pace and | :08:22. | :08:28.
impetuous. Surely you're going to get some joy it goes that a lot! I | :08:28. | :08:32.
thought he looked bemused there for a minute. I always look bemused | :08:32. | :08:37.
when you speak, most of the time! We can hear from the England | :08:37. | :08:43.
manager. Andy Carroll in and Dr Jane blamed | :08:43. | :08:49.
on the bench, tell a shot thinking about that -- Oxlade-Chamberlain. | :08:49. | :08:57.
It is important we get another out and out front player on the field | :08:57. | :09:01.
tonight and I wanted Ashley Oxlade- Chamberlain to go back to his | :09:01. | :09:06.
original position out wide, and also a view towards Wayne Rooney | :09:06. | :09:11.
coming back into the team on Tuesday. He did very well in the | :09:11. | :09:15.
first game, I thought it was a good idea to take him out and give him a | :09:16. | :09:20.
chance from the bench rather than from the start. Andy Carroll is the | :09:20. | :09:24.
most successful aerial combatant in the Premier League, so was then | :09:24. | :09:29.
element of watching the Sweden game against Ukraine and thinking Andy | :09:29. | :09:34.
Carroll would work well? I think she will be useful to us in both | :09:34. | :09:38.
penalty boxes. With a team with the height and strength of Sweden we do | :09:38. | :09:44.
need as much aerial power as we can have, both in their penalty area | :09:44. | :09:49.
and empowers. So there was an element of thinking like that. | :09:49. | :09:52.
Going for the win is vitally important because you do not want | :09:52. | :09:56.
to be chasing a win against Ukraine in the Ukraine in the last game. | :09:56. | :10:00.
Ideally not, but I am sure Sweden will be having the same thoughts, | :10:00. | :10:04.
they do not want to be needing a win against France in the last game | :10:04. | :10:08.
to keep themselves in the tournament. It is a very tough | :10:08. | :10:12.
group and a very even group. I have been watching the first half of the | :10:12. | :10:17.
other game and it is very even. We need to play well tonight to make a | :10:17. | :10:21.
difference. The rain has caused a 15 minute delay here, are you | :10:21. | :10:25.
bothered about that? particularly. I don't fully | :10:25. | :10:29.
understand why it was necessary but no doubt there was a reason for it. | :10:29. | :10:33.
We were here at the Stadium in good time anyway, it just means we have | :10:33. | :10:37.
a bit longer to wait before kick- off. We have been waiting all day | :10:37. | :10:46.
so 50 minutes should not hurt. -- 15 minutes. England have never lost | :10:46. | :10:53.
a game that has been delayed by 15 minutes elsewhere! He seems very | :10:54. | :10:58.
controlled in this role. Absolutely, he is saying the right things at | :10:58. | :11:03.
the right time. If he does not get out of this group he will get | :11:03. | :11:07.
annihilated, but I think he will get out of the group. He has picked | :11:07. | :11:15.
Andy Carroll up front. If you are doing that, you have to get Welbeck | :11:15. | :11:22.
close to him and do not get obsessed with chipping it up into | :11:22. | :11:27.
the air. You need variation in attack because you have to play as | :11:27. | :11:33.
well as using him. And you have to get a box into the ball from | :11:33. | :11:36.
deliveries. That is why because he suffered at Liverpool, when he did | :11:36. | :11:43.
play they did not get balls into the box. And do not forget Ibrahim | :11:43. | :11:49.
pitch at the other end. I have news for you that France have taken the | :11:49. | :11:57.
lead. They have scored two quick goals. The first from Menez and | :11:57. | :12:05.
then another from Cabaye. That takes France above Ukraine. Let us | :12:05. | :12:14.
get a sense of the mood inside the Olympic Stadium in Kiev. | :12:14. | :12:20.
It is a fantastic atmosphere. A bit blue and yellow at the moment. | :12:20. | :12:25.
There are going to be a lot more Swedish fans than English ones. | :12:25. | :12:28.
There certainly are but those English fans will make plenty of | :12:28. | :12:32.
noise. Great news for them that Andy Carroll is coming into the | :12:32. | :12:37.
side. That is sending out a message to the players, let us go and | :12:37. | :12:42.
attack and caused problems to Sweden. Do you think you have this | :12:42. | :12:47.
in his mind all the way, or did the performance last night under way | :12:47. | :12:52.
Shevchenko broke through the Swedish defence affected it? | :12:52. | :12:59.
Without doubt. Andy Carroll is also in the air. It is very call tonight, | :12:59. | :13:09.
:13:09. | :13:09. | ||
we will see a high tempo, English performance. Ibrahimovic is an | :13:09. | :13:15.
awesome player and the outstanding Swedish player. How would you | :13:15. | :13:20.
defend against him? I would have taken an no-nonsense approach. At | :13:20. | :13:25.
times he was like Eric Cantona in that game, he just rises out of the | :13:25. | :13:32.
game. He has an arrogance to his game. They need to get tight and | :13:32. | :13:36.
protect from the midfield. I have seen the players close-up and they | :13:36. | :13:41.
are really up for it. That seven competitive matches would know | :13:41. | :13:46.
victory, D take any stock with that? No, we just have to look | :13:46. | :13:54.
ahead. I am pretty confident. I think we will be fine, we just have | :13:54. | :14:04.
:14:04. | :14:21. | ||
For Roy Hodgson, tonight represents a trip down memory lane. It all | :14:21. | :14:26.
started in Sweden, 25 years ago, taking on a team in transition. | :14:26. | :14:35.
Sound familiar? Of course, he was young. I was all so young at that | :14:35. | :14:45.
:14:45. | :14:49. | ||
time. 1976-1980, two league titles with hushed up. From 1985, Malmo, | :14:49. | :14:57.
five league titles. He is a great teacher and instructor. Swedish | :14:57. | :15:04.
football was changed for ever. 1976 team, despite the fact that it | :15:04. | :15:11.
is 36 years ago, I can still name every player. Is this your first | :15:11. | :15:18.
club ever as a trainer? Yes, full- time. Roy Hodgson arrived at how | :15:18. | :15:25.
much dad a young man from Croydon, recommended by a long-term friend | :15:25. | :15:31.
Bob Houghton. -- at Halmstat. It was the perfect platform for Roy | :15:31. | :15:36.
Hodgson to implement his new ideas. At that time, Halmstat was a team | :15:36. | :15:39.
which played in the Second Division. The next year they got promoted, | :15:39. | :15:46.
then they got relegated again. We were not a really good team. The | :15:46. | :15:48.
Swedish players did not speak English so it was really important | :15:48. | :15:54.
that he could speak Swedish. After two weeks, he could say a lot of | :15:54. | :15:57.
words in Swedish, and after a couple of months, he spoke perfect | :15:57. | :16:07.
Swedish. He changed everything. When we had the training sessions, | :16:07. | :16:10.
he wanted us to train with precision, how to attack, how to | :16:10. | :16:14.
defend. We were talking a lot during the training session. We | :16:14. | :16:18.
were standing still and he was moving us around like chess players. | :16:18. | :16:22.
When it came to the matches, we knew exactly how to play, and we | :16:22. | :16:26.
surprised a lot of teams with the way we were playing. We were | :16:26. | :16:29.
playing like we do today. So, he was 10 years ahead of everybody | :16:29. | :16:39.
:16:39. | :16:44. | ||
He supports the players so much, we felt like we were a big stars, and | :16:44. | :16:51.
that was completely new for us. Suddenly, we could be the stars of | :16:51. | :16:56.
Halmstat. He did a great job, and we were the champions. In 1985, | :16:56. | :17:01.
after a brief, unsuccessful stint back in England at Bristol City, | :17:01. | :17:06.
Roy Hodgson went back to Sweden, to join Malmo, 90 miles down the coast | :17:06. | :17:10.
from Halmstat. He was there for five seasons, a time which still | :17:10. | :17:18.
burns brightly in the memory of everybody at the club. We were a | :17:18. | :17:23.
very, very young side, with no experience, and he made us into a | :17:23. | :17:27.
team which won the Swedish league five times and a very successful | :17:27. | :17:37.
:17:37. | :17:43. | ||
club. He is very passionate, a great instructor, teacher. He is | :17:43. | :17:49.
really good at getting the best out of each player. Cash in some corner | :17:49. | :17:54.
at a foreign stadium will -- which will always be a piece of England, | :17:54. | :18:02.
in this case, "Roy's Corner", at the Malmo Stadium, a testament to | :18:02. | :18:09.
how fondly he is remembered. think a lot of people, including | :18:09. | :18:16.
myself, see him as the man behind Sweden's success in the 1994 World | :18:16. | :18:23.
Cup. The backbone of that team used to play for Roy Hodgson at Malmo. | :18:23. | :18:27.
It was this style which has enshrined why Hodgson in Swedish | :18:27. | :18:31.
footballing folklore. Along with Bob Houghton, he introduced methods | :18:31. | :18:35.
and ideas which are now known in Sweden as the English school, a | :18:35. | :18:42.
school which influenced a whole generation. When Roy Hodgson came, | :18:42. | :18:48.
it was more a German style of playing in Sweden. But he changed | :18:48. | :18:55.
all of that. First of all, we moved to zonal defence, using the offside | :18:55. | :19:01.
all the time on the pitch. That was really a new thing coming to Sweden. | :19:01. | :19:07.
Most of what is basic for me still as a coach I took from that, the | :19:07. | :19:13.
pre-season training, how to organise the team. I also believe | :19:13. | :19:18.
more in being a hands-on coach, like Roy Hodgson. I like to be out | :19:18. | :19:22.
on the pitch, working with the players. The teacher of the English | :19:22. | :19:25.
school taking on the English manager's job will be watched with | :19:25. | :19:28.
interest by everybody in Swedish football. His former pupils are | :19:28. | :19:34.
confident he will get the best results. England will be favourites | :19:34. | :19:38.
this time because Mr Hodgson knows the Scandinavian football, he knows | :19:38. | :19:43.
the Swedish players and so on better than the other coaches. | :19:43. | :19:46.
Hodgson can be really, really good for the English national team. It | :19:46. | :19:51.
is bad when it comes to the Swedish national team. It is nice they have | :19:51. | :19:56.
not totally forgotten me, just as I have not forgotten them. So, now | :19:56. | :20:00.
you know who's to blame for Sweden constantly beating England over all | :20:00. | :20:05.
those years! It is great to see. He is such a passionate coach, one of | :20:05. | :20:09.
those coaches, I think, which the players look to and listen to. If | :20:09. | :20:14.
you have got a coach like that, you're half way there. That is what | :20:14. | :20:18.
he commands. The way he has gone about his job and dealt with the | :20:18. | :20:23.
problems that he has had, and so far in the tournament, it has been | :20:23. | :20:28.
very calm and collected, and that rubs off on the players. A couple | :20:28. | :20:32.
of years ago, we had him in Cape Town for a couple of years, and his | :20:32. | :20:35.
knowledge of the players and the teams from all around the world was | :20:35. | :20:40.
incredible. Tactically, he was so spot on. He would instantly get the | :20:40. | :20:46.
respect of the players. Absolutely, the players can smell within the | :20:46. | :20:51.
first 30 seconds if you know what you're talking about. Like Alan | :20:51. | :20:56.
says, when we were speaking to him in South Africa, his knowledge of | :20:56. | :20:59.
football is unsurpassed. His tactics, whatever he does, he has | :20:59. | :21:03.
always been spot on. He gets the more organised, he has a great | :21:03. | :21:06.
ability to get a together this in the squad, which is half the battle. | :21:06. | :21:11.
The one thing he will no is that he has got two strikers, and they will | :21:11. | :21:14.
need some service. We struggled to get into the opposition half in the | :21:14. | :21:17.
first game, but they need to make the most of having two centre- | :21:17. | :21:22.
forwards. We did not do that the other night at all. Our wide play | :21:22. | :21:29.
was pretty poor. We did not get any service into the box. That will be | :21:29. | :21:36.
key tonight. On this occasion, Milner makes a great run down the | :21:36. | :21:39.
right-hand side. The defender is nine yards away, he has got the | :21:39. | :21:42.
chance to put it into the middle. Ashley Young is waiting in the | :21:42. | :21:46.
middle. But watch what happens. He checks back on his other foot. By | :21:46. | :21:51.
the time he decides to cross it, there are five defenders in the box. | :21:51. | :21:54.
He could have done that three He could have done that three | :21:54. | :21:57.
seconds ago. Exactly the same thing happens here. You need to create a | :21:57. | :22:03.
yard. He could have crossed it, but no, he chooses not to. It makes it | :22:03. | :22:08.
very difficult for the strikers to time their runs. Absolutely. But | :22:08. | :22:11.
this is what happens when you do deliver a good ball. It is into the | :22:11. | :22:16.
right area, and it gives you the chance to attack it, as Lescott did. | :22:16. | :22:20.
If we do that, we will create. Ukraine did it the other night, | :22:20. | :22:26.
with Shevchenko. He is not quick, but he gets half a yard, puts it | :22:26. | :22:30.
into the danger area and says to the forward, go and get on to the | :22:30. | :22:36.
end of it. Shevchenko did that. Shevchenko's not renowned for his | :22:36. | :22:40.
great heading ability. So, if you get the ball into the area, as a | :22:40. | :22:44.
forward, you need to know that when you make that run, the ball will be | :22:44. | :22:47.
coming in. You're not going to check back, you're going to get it | :22:47. | :22:51.
into the middle. Welbeck will be feeling good tonight, because he | :22:51. | :22:55.
will have a bit of support, he will not be up on his own, fighting two | :22:55. | :22:59.
centre-halves, like he was the other night. I think it is a big | :22:59. | :23:03.
game for Welbeck. He was impressive in the first game, but the most | :23:03. | :23:06.
important thing about playing alongside Andy Carroll is to | :23:06. | :23:10.
support him, do not leave him isolated. But I think Welbeck will | :23:10. | :23:14.
do that well. For Manchester United, he has been playing different roles | :23:14. | :23:18.
during the season. I think he has got the football intelligence to | :23:18. | :23:24.
got the football intelligence to play this system. I think he will | :23:24. | :23:29.
get some join off Andy Carroll. They will get the supply. When | :23:29. | :23:33.
Ashley Young cut back on to his right foot, if he is playing on the | :23:33. | :23:38.
left, it is very difficult for the back four to hold a certain line. | :23:38. | :23:42.
As well as Oxlade-Chamberlain did the other night, he did not get any | :23:42. | :23:47.
balls into the box. Yes, he worked his socks off, but tonight, with | :23:47. | :23:51.
Ashley Young on the left-hand side, you will see him checking back onto | :23:51. | :23:57.
the right foot and getting the ball in. England's top scorer against | :23:57. | :24:03.
Sweden in history is Stan Mortensen. He retired in 1958! Alan, what was | :24:03. | :24:10.
he like to play against?! I will tell you what, he was pretty quick! | :24:10. | :24:15.
But like the boys are saying, if you look at the Swedish back four, | :24:15. | :24:19.
the right back as well, he struggled at Wigan. He is playing | :24:19. | :24:23.
against Ashley Young. So, if you get the ball to him quickly, he can | :24:23. | :24:29.
just get it into the box and its in the back of the net. I also think, | :24:29. | :24:33.
when we have seen tall guys in the team, like Peter Crouch, with | :24:33. | :24:38.
England, we have a tendency to kick it long, and we become obsessed | :24:38. | :24:42.
with that. Yes, Andy Carroll can deal with that, but he can also | :24:42. | :24:46.
play on the deck. He has got a great left foot, and a very good | :24:46. | :24:52.
touch. So he also needs the ball delivered into his feet. That's | :24:52. | :24:56.
where Steven Gerrard needs to take control of the situation, make sure | :24:56. | :25:02.
that he is passing 20 yards balls. It is interesting with Steven | :25:02. | :25:06.
Gerrard, he seems to be playing more disciplined than ever. He is | :25:06. | :25:11.
32, he just cannot get from box to box like he used to. He has said | :25:11. | :25:16.
himself, he has got to control his energy, he has got to time his runs. | :25:16. | :25:21.
I don't think you will ever see him making those 50 yard runs any more. | :25:21. | :25:25.
When we're going 4-4-2, and if you're trying to get players in | :25:25. | :25:30.
wide positions, he cannot go cavalier. No, but I think they will | :25:30. | :25:33.
be more cavalier tonight than they were against France. Let's face it, | :25:33. | :25:37.
Sweden have not got the ability which the French have got, | :25:37. | :25:42.
certainly in midfield anyway. He has got Scott Parker to cover him, | :25:42. | :25:47.
so at the right time, and he gets that with experience, he can run | :25:47. | :25:50.
past the centre-forward, as we have seen him do over the years. It will | :25:51. | :25:55.
be interesting to see how England to play. We have been speaking | :25:55. | :25:59.
about Andy Carroll, and not pinging it up to him, but it is the English | :25:59. | :26:03.
mentality. When you have got it in the back four, people like John | :26:03. | :26:07.
Terry, he will think, just check it up in the air. But if they start | :26:07. | :26:12.
doing that, they will be in trouble. Let's get a Swedish perspective on | :26:12. | :26:17.
tonight's match. Jake Humphrey and Martin Keown caught up with former | :26:17. | :26:27.
:26:27. | :26:38. | ||
What are your memories of Sweden- England matches? Do you see it as | :26:38. | :26:42.
an achievement not to have allowed England to be due in all of this | :26:42. | :26:48.
time? Yes, sure. I think we beat you in Stockholm, then we had a lot | :26:48. | :26:51.
of drawers, a new beat us at Wembley. We feel that is not a good | :26:51. | :26:57.
thing, even though it was a friendly! But I loved the games. | :26:57. | :27:02.
They were great occasions. There is something quite nous about taking | :27:02. | :27:07.
somebody on who is a teammate, and then you go back to your club and | :27:07. | :27:10.
talk about it. It does not get forgotten easily. Not when it is | :27:10. | :27:20.
:27:20. | :27:21. | ||
Martin! You were able to have the last laugh in the face of the | :27:21. | :27:26.
English media. Yes, always, before the games, the English media would | :27:26. | :27:32.
be saying, we're going to win easy. What do the Swedish media say | :27:32. | :27:42.
:27:42. | :27:44. | ||
before you play the English? You do not want to know! I suppose the big | :27:44. | :27:47.
concern for the Swedish will be the way you defended in that first | :27:47. | :27:52.
match? Definitely, they struggled on set-pieces. We will be concerned | :27:52. | :28:01.
about that. We know that England are very good at set-pieces. What | :28:01. | :28:05.
would Roy Hodgson have said to the England guys, having watched | :28:05. | :28:11.
Sweden's first match? Certainly their defence is vulnerable. | :28:11. | :28:14.
England need to start believing that they can win a game of | :28:14. | :28:18.
football at this level. It is OK to be organised, but it is the next | :28:18. | :28:22.
step now. This match is massive for Sweden, not just because it is | :28:22. | :28:26.
England, but because they lost the first game. They will be feeling | :28:26. | :28:30.
that if they lose tonight, they will be out. Can they do it? | :28:30. | :28:36.
course, I hope so. You do not believe they can do it, do you? | :28:36. | :28:39.
I believe they can do it, definitely. The Swedish have a big | :28:39. | :28:47.
belief, but it is better to be modest. You should be telling us | :28:47. | :28:52.
you're going to win easy! What is the danger from Sweden, how do you | :28:52. | :28:57.
think they will set up? The other night, Lescott and John Terry did | :28:57. | :29:00.
not have anybody to pick up, which can be a problem. Tonight, they | :29:00. | :29:04.
will have different problems. You have got Ibrahimovic and Elmander | :29:04. | :29:06.
have got Ibrahimovic and Elmander up front. This was against the | :29:06. | :29:10.
French, and you can see the back four, nobody within 10 yards of | :29:10. | :29:17.
them. All in good position, eventually, the French go down the | :29:17. | :29:23.
side, and will have a sudden, Franck Ribery is in the box. The | :29:24. | :29:29.
centre backs, not occupied at all. This time, only one to mark. There | :29:29. | :29:33.
is no runner behind. Lescott can go nice and tight on Benzema. They | :29:33. | :29:37.
have got cover behind, and consequently France are forced to | :29:37. | :29:43.
shoot from distance. Not a problem. Here, again, look at them. The back | :29:43. | :29:47.
four, three in midfield. But when they play tonight, Elmander will be | :29:47. | :29:51.
up front, he will be there. Just in front of him will be Ibrahimovic. | :29:51. | :29:58.
They have got to work out who will be picking who up. This is against | :29:58. | :30:02.
Ukraine the other night. You can see Elmander up front, occupying | :30:02. | :30:06.
the two centre backs. You can see the run from Ibrahimovic. All of a | :30:06. | :30:13.
sudden, the defence has got problems. How do you cope with him? | :30:14. | :30:17.
This was a great shot, created by himself, just by moving into that | :30:17. | :30:23.
space. This time, he sucks the other centre-back in, creating the | :30:23. | :30:33.
:30:33. | :30:45. | ||
We have had numerous conversations over the years about Ibrahimovic. | :30:45. | :30:50.
He has 11 tattoos on his back and one of them says only God can judge | :30:50. | :31:00.
:31:00. | :31:01. | ||
me - well, only Scott and Alan Hansen! There are two camps, or one | :31:01. | :31:04.
that thinks he is terrific and the other that things she is not | :31:04. | :31:12.
convincing. I would still be in the latter. He is good in the air, good | :31:12. | :31:18.
pace, but I think he is a hit-and- miss player. But he hits a lot. His | :31:18. | :31:25.
record stands with the best. Anyone that does not like him, look at his | :31:25. | :31:30.
record, it is fantastic. At international for club level. He | :31:30. | :31:34.
has the style which is lazy at times, but he has a good arrogance | :31:34. | :31:42.
about him and great touch, whether he is just in the hole, but Teddy | :31:42. | :31:48.
Sheringham role, he has a great shot, but it is just that little | :31:48. | :31:51.
bit of Lacey's tell that he has, which means he does not please | :31:51. | :32:00.
everyone. -- lazy style. We are all agreed, he is always a danger! | :32:00. | :32:04.
can bet your bottom dollar he will be mentioned by Roy Hodgson this | :32:04. | :32:14.
:32:14. | :32:15. | ||
week. We can go back to the Olympic When I spoke to you the other night | :32:15. | :32:19.
it you were quietly pleased about the result but a bit disappointed | :32:19. | :32:24.
about the performance. You wanted to see more attack. We you see that | :32:24. | :32:29.
from this line-up? You have Andy Carroll in and he is a target man. | :32:29. | :32:34.
He needs service. I would like to see Ashley Young and James Milner | :32:34. | :32:40.
playing higher up the field. You do not want them on top of the full- | :32:40. | :32:44.
back. From past experience, I know what it is like when you play for | :32:44. | :32:49.
England, you end up playing on top of your full backs. Andy Carroll | :32:49. | :32:53.
need service in the last 25 yards of the pitch, not from the halfway | :32:53. | :32:58.
line. If you play the winners, you need to get round the full-back and | :32:58. | :33:03.
that is where the danger starts. you think we will see Stephen | :33:03. | :33:07.
Gerrard getting further forward? think he will have to be reserved | :33:08. | :33:12.
on his runs. He will have to look at it, he has a lot of | :33:12. | :33:18.
responsibility, but he understands the game very well. Confident? | :33:18. | :33:25.
I think Sweden are a bit dodgy at the back. But they have Ibrahimovic, | :33:25. | :33:32.
who is a very good player and plays just in that hole off the striker. | :33:32. | :33:42.
:33:42. | :33:44. | ||
Just to remind you that the game is a late kick-off. It is now and | :33:44. | :33:49.
8:00pm kick-off because of severe weather delaying the other game | :33:49. | :33:55.
been played this evening, and France are still ahead in that game | :33:55. | :34:03.
by two goals. There are reckoned to be up to 5000 England fans in Kiev | :34:03. | :34:06.
tonight and Dan Walker has caught up with one of them, as familiar | :34:06. | :34:10.
face. Look here you bump into when you | :34:10. | :34:17.
have a wander around here, Noel Gallagher. You are in Kiev with | :34:17. | :34:22.
your band, is this plant or a coincidence? It is a coincidence | :34:22. | :34:28.
that England are here at the same time as me! No, it has been | :34:28. | :34:32.
meticulously planned that we would try and get out here and do as much | :34:32. | :34:36.
as we could win the tournament was on and UEFA have given us some | :34:36. | :34:41.
money to play at the fan park, so it is all good. Are you a fan of | :34:41. | :34:48.
the way England are playing? Will they do well at the tournament? | :34:48. | :34:53.
Doing well, I would think, would be to get out of the group. Hopefully | :34:53. | :34:58.
getting a favourable draw. I think he can be done but I do not think | :34:58. | :35:02.
anybody expects England to set the tournament alight. We have not got | :35:02. | :35:07.
the numbers of great players that you need. I think England will be | :35:07. | :35:14.
fine if it is a draw they are leading, but if they have to chase | :35:14. | :35:21.
the game it will beat off. Manchester City taking over the | :35:21. | :35:30.
world, Joleon Lescott, Joe Hart... We are doing good. It is great to | :35:30. | :35:34.
see that the appeal of Manchester City is spreading around the globe. | :35:34. | :35:44.
It is about time! We have had eight days of football | :35:44. | :35:49.
and 45 goals. If England can still win it. I'm starting to enjoy | :35:49. | :35:59.
:35:59. | :36:06. | ||
Home of football, historic and proud, those three little words. | :36:06. | :36:12.
Determination to start the game with high expectation. You've got | :36:12. | :36:19.
the flair, you've got the best fans behind you. So we believe, all you | :36:19. | :36:25.
got to do no boys is achieve. Three is for inspiration. Think Bobby | :36:25. | :36:34.
Moore for inspiration. Let's paint in news story, come On England! | :36:34. | :36:44.
:36:44. | :36:46. | ||
We can hear from one of the stars of Manchester City, Joe Hart, he | :36:46. | :36:56.
:36:56. | :37:12. | ||
was hoping for a first competitive Perhaps not burdened so much with | :37:12. | :37:18.
that Swedish history. History is history, that's the whole point. It | :37:18. | :37:22.
has been and gone. You do not go into the game with previous results, | :37:22. | :37:31.
it is not an aggregate game. We go in fresh. Samir Nasri said he knew | :37:31. | :37:36.
-- it you knew him so well that he chases technique for the goal. | :37:36. | :37:44.
did not even know it was him that scored! I thought it was Cabaye. He | :37:44. | :37:53.
is a very clever player. I have seen him in training. I have saved | :37:53. | :37:58.
enough balls from been to know what is going on. I want to save | :37:58. | :38:01.
everything, but sometimes it does go in, but you have to move forward | :38:01. | :38:05.
and be positive for the rest of the game and the tournament. When you | :38:06. | :38:09.
were growing up, who was the England goalkeeper they you thought | :38:10. | :38:15.
you wanted to emulate? David Seaman. It is strange because I never | :38:15. | :38:19.
thought I want to be that guy, I want to beat the England goalkeeper. | :38:19. | :38:27.
They did not pass my mind. David Seaman was almost defied by a | :38:27. | :38:30.
tournament. It can happen with goalkeepers that a moment in the | :38:30. | :38:35.
tournament makes them. Are you aware of that? I am aware of it and | :38:35. | :38:39.
I totally understand that there is a lot more to it than that. You | :38:39. | :38:45.
have to take a step back from what the headline says. People will be | :38:45. | :38:50.
more pleased with who you what and do what you do it rather than one | :38:50. | :38:56.
save, one mistake for one thing going your way and one thing not. | :38:56. | :39:00.
have tipped astute about the Pete Green, how much do have a say about | :39:00. | :39:08.
the colours? Nothing for that! As I put it on and were with it, I do | :39:08. | :39:13.
like it, it is different. As long as it fits me, I don't really care | :39:13. | :39:20.
what colour it is. It is a throwback to the old days. | :39:20. | :39:27.
Surely it is mint green! We bow to your superior knowledge on that one. | :39:27. | :39:32.
He is a consistently improving goalkeeper. I think he is a great | :39:32. | :39:36.
goalkeeper. He has all the attributes that you want. He has | :39:36. | :39:39.
now won the title with Man City and I think he has grown in stature and | :39:40. | :39:45.
confidence. It is not easy to go in goal for England at 23 because part | :39:45. | :39:50.
of your job is to be very vocal with your central defenders and | :39:50. | :39:53.
central midfielders. If you're shouting and John Terry and Steven | :39:53. | :39:58.
Gerrard to have to be very confident. Probably in the first | :39:58. | :40:03.
game, where the defence went too deep, it has to come from him. I | :40:03. | :40:07.
was fortunate at Liverpool to play in front of Ray Clemence, who was | :40:07. | :40:12.
to read vocal and he would help you so much. If you got out of position | :40:12. | :40:17.
he would Kochi back into it. first 20 minutes of that game the | :40:17. | :40:22.
other night, Joe Hart looked a bit shaky. But he felt his way into the | :40:22. | :40:28.
game. He got better as the game went on. He is a definite presence | :40:28. | :40:36.
and I think he will of is to get better as he gets older. Some | :40:36. | :40:41.
goalkeepers her presence with a voice, but David Seaman hardly ever | :40:41. | :40:45.
said anything, but you just knew he was there and every so often he | :40:45. | :40:51.
would growl at you. I think he has got it. From the present England | :40:51. | :40:56.
goalkeeper to one of those past, David James is pitch-side in Kiev. | :40:56. | :41:00.
David, you said to me the other day that Joe Hart is the best | :41:00. | :41:06.
goalkeeper in the tournament. Why? If you look at his game, in all the | :41:06. | :41:10.
areas he is very proficient. He is confident with crosses, his | :41:10. | :41:14.
distribution is very good, he is comfortable having the ball played | :41:14. | :41:19.
back to his feet. One thing when I first met in fresh from trees | :41:19. | :41:25.
breach when he signed for Man City was that he exuded confidence -- | :41:25. | :41:30.
Shrewsbury. That is different from the arrogance and it is a good | :41:30. | :41:33.
thing. For me, it was slightly annoying because he ended up taking | :41:33. | :41:40.
my place at Man City and again with England. Again, thoroughly deserved. | :41:40. | :41:45.
A word on selection today and what Andy Carroll brings to the side. | :41:45. | :41:51.
This is a side specifically paid to beat Sweden? Definitely. Roy | :41:51. | :41:55.
Hodgson looked at the defence is that Sweden showed against Ukraine. | :41:55. | :42:00.
Andy Carroll is renowned for his presence in the air. I do not think | :42:00. | :42:05.
it means they will go read one, I think with the winners playing that | :42:05. | :42:09.
encourages them to get crosses in and show the weakness that Sweden | :42:09. | :42:16.
have got. Hopefully go for the 2-1 win that I have predicted for the | :42:16. | :42:22.
last 24 hours. There are going to be a lot more Swedish fans. If you | :42:22. | :42:26.
were out there, did you notice that, the fact that English fans will be | :42:26. | :42:31.
trained dead. I think the players will understand why the England | :42:31. | :42:37.
fans have not been here in their usual present. Sweden, three games | :42:37. | :42:44.
in one place, it is easy for them to to come and trouble. I think Roy | :42:44. | :42:49.
Hodgson will have a set that side eight. I think Andy Carroll | :42:49. | :42:55.
suggests that the team knows what they have to be doing. And going | :42:55. | :43:05.
:43:05. | :43:08. | ||
into their game with their new There is the England team, if you | :43:08. | :43:15.
have just tuned in. Just one change made by Roy Hodgson, bringing in | :43:15. | :43:20.
Andy Carroll and no place for Oxlade-Chamberlain in the starting | :43:20. | :43:26.
line-up. John Terry is now playing on the right even though he | :43:26. | :43:31.
normally plays on the left but they seem to play well in the first game. | :43:31. | :43:35.
I do not think it was a problem. The problem is that at times they | :43:35. | :43:44.
were defending too deep. When you do that, it just need a deflection. | :43:44. | :43:49.
Or, as Joe Hart quite rightly said, too many people in front of him and | :43:49. | :43:55.
he is and cited. Apart from that, I thought they were pretty solid. | :43:55. | :44:00.
Terry and Lescott than not given any difficulties but they were not | :44:00. | :44:05.
playing against an out and out striker. It is quite unusual, both | :44:05. | :44:10.
Spain and France played that way in the first game. We said on the | :44:10. | :44:19.
night that they will be quite happy, feeling they were not getting | :44:19. | :44:28.
exposed, but ultimately they end up to do. It forces the midfield deep. | :44:28. | :44:32.
Under thing about the issue with the goalkeeper comes in. As the | :44:32. | :44:37.
centre back when you go do, you really don't know, it is easy to | :44:37. | :44:43.
fall into that trap. This is more of a Premier League style came. | :44:43. | :44:49.
Sweden had more of a presence the other night when Elmander came on | :44:49. | :44:57.
and he did want to run Ian behind and stand on the two centre-backs. | :44:57. | :45:03.
You have looked at the defensive aspect of this. When you're playing | :45:03. | :45:11.
against pace and movement, D defend a high line. But the most important | :45:11. | :45:17.
thing is the sanctuary of the 18 yard line. Stay there. If you start | :45:17. | :45:21.
going back towards the goalkeeper, it just needs a deflection, it | :45:21. | :45:31.
:45:31. | :45:37. | ||
means they are too many bodies in French. You can see how many bodies | :45:37. | :45:41.
are in the box. But progressively, they were just getting deeper and | :45:41. | :45:46.
deeper. Watch this time, it is eight plus a goalkeeper, that's | :45:46. | :45:53.
nearly the whole team, and nobody pressurising the ball. The warning | :45:53. | :45:57.
signs were there. And then, eventually, when it comes out wide | :45:57. | :46:04.
here, it is played to Patrice Evra, and he has got three options, he | :46:04. | :46:10.
can hit it, chip it to the back post, or just go and play. But | :46:10. | :46:15.
there was nobody in this area, so he picked it up and plays it, then | :46:15. | :46:21.
it comes back to Nasri, and it's in the back of the net. The goalkeeper | :46:21. | :46:25.
has got to be the voice that sends has got to be the voice that sends | :46:25. | :46:28.
them out. It is something which clearly Roy Hodgson had spotted, | :46:29. | :46:34.
because they got better at that in the second half. I totally agree. | :46:34. | :46:39.
France, with Benzema, the other night, they played a strange way. | :46:39. | :46:44.
Not once did he run in behind. But Elmander will do that tonight. So | :46:44. | :46:48.
England will have to get their distances right between the | :46:48. | :46:54.
midfield and the back four. Just looking at the team sheets, all | :46:54. | :47:00.
aspects of the team, I think our players are better than theirs. I | :47:00. | :47:04.
think if we can sort out Ibrahimovic, the rest of them will | :47:04. | :47:08.
take care of themselves. But on paper, the last seven games, | :47:08. | :47:13.
England have had a better team than Sweden. What would you do about | :47:13. | :47:18.
Ibrahimovic, what is the secret? It is a perennial problem for English | :47:18. | :47:22.
defenders, isn't it? That's where the communication comes in, not | :47:22. | :47:26.
just from the goalkeeper, but from the midfield players and the centre | :47:26. | :47:30.
halves as well. Sometimes it has got to be one or the other. | :47:30. | :47:34.
Sometimes the centre-back cannot go because he will have somebody, and | :47:34. | :47:38.
Ibrahimovic is just that little bit too far away. Other times, a | :47:38. | :47:42.
midfield player will have to pick him up. Sometimes John Terry will | :47:42. | :47:47.
have to go in and pick him up, but it is all about communication. | :47:47. | :47:56.
about the Swedish defence? We saw Shevchenko get the two goals. | :47:56. | :48:00.
is probably be why Andy Carroll was brought in. Yes, but when they went | :48:00. | :48:03.
up the other end of the pitch, they up the other end of the pitch, they | :48:03. | :48:08.
struggled as well. This was a counter-attack, they are basically | :48:08. | :48:13.
all over the place. Shevchenko just plays one in, and you can see the | :48:13. | :48:18.
back four, hands up in the air, always a sign that you're in | :48:18. | :48:25.
trouble. Shevchenko should have buried that. | :48:25. | :48:30.
LEE DIXON: Sticking your hands up all at once is not bad, it is when | :48:30. | :48:33.
it is at different times that you're in big trouble! | :48:33. | :48:38.
ALAN SHEARER: We have mentioned Andy Carroll a lot tonight, but | :48:38. | :48:42.
Welbeck has got a big role to play tonight. We saw Shevchenko running | :48:42. | :48:47.
in behind the defence, and Welbeck can do that tonight. Mellberg will | :48:47. | :48:51.
can do that tonight. Mellberg will not catch him for pace. In the | :48:51. | :48:58.
delayed game, France have beating Ukraine 2-0. That means that going | :48:58. | :49:08.
:49:08. | :49:21. | ||
into the game tonight, the group So, getting close now to kick-off. | :49:21. | :49:27.
It is delayed, it is 10 minutes away. You look at Andy Carroll and | :49:27. | :49:32.
Danny Welbeck, but for me, Ashley Young, if they can get the ball to | :49:32. | :49:38.
him early, he has got that much talent and ability. He was | :49:38. | :49:41.
anonymous for a huge part of the game in the first game, but he has | :49:41. | :49:46.
got so much talent, two great feat against a poor right back. Get it | :49:46. | :49:51.
to him early, attack the full-back, chip it into the box, and you will | :49:51. | :49:56.
get success. You make it sound so simple. That is his best position, | :49:56. | :50:00.
I would say, on that side of the pitch. He is certainly more lively | :50:00. | :50:04.
on that side. It is very difficult to defend against when you come | :50:05. | :50:08.
back and whippet in with your right foot from that left-hand side. | :50:08. | :50:13.
other thing, in the dressing room, Roy Hodgson will be saying the | :50:13. | :50:19.
right things - don't be complacent, go out and play. The trouble is, he | :50:19. | :50:22.
is not in the dressing room, he is outside with his old friend the | :50:22. | :50:32.
:50:32. | :50:32. | ||
Swedish manager! Far too friendly! Wait till it kicks off. Talking | :50:32. | :50:37.
about the dressing room, I hope Lescott and John Terry and Steven | :50:37. | :50:41.
Gerrard and Scott Parker are talking to each other. That square | :50:41. | :50:47.
will be really important, when Ibrahimovic will be right in the | :50:47. | :50:56.
middle of them. Yes, and it is imperative that he is picked up. If | :50:56. | :51:00.
you can get the danger man back on the halfway line, it is very | :51:00. | :51:05.
difficult to influence the game from now. The one thing which came | :51:05. | :51:08.
out from the other night was how negative England were. Perhaps it | :51:09. | :51:11.
was understandable, first game of the tournament, playing against a | :51:11. | :51:16.
very good team. But tonight, I think certainly they can go and | :51:16. | :51:20.
attack Sweden a lot more, create more chances, and do something with | :51:20. | :51:26.
it. Go for the throat! We're getting very close. We never win | :51:26. | :51:31.
the opening game, we never beat the tournament hosts, and we never beat | :51:31. | :51:36.
Sweden in competitive matches. It is about time that changed. Come on, | :51:36. | :51:46.
:51:46. | :52:13. | ||
COMMENTATOR: England are out of the You are England. Rally the troops. | :52:13. | :52:23.
:52:23. | :52:42. | ||
Dictate the play. Be the general. The engine never stops. Show your | :52:42. | :52:52.
:52:52. | :53:04. | ||
We are almost ready - how do you think it will go, Alan? I honestly | :53:04. | :53:07.
think England will win. After seeing the Swedish team, I think | :53:07. | :53:16.
the back four are really poor. I think England are the better side. | :53:16. | :53:19.
We have seen Germany make a statement in their second game, we | :53:20. | :53:23.
have seen Spain make a statement in their second game, so England have | :53:23. | :53:29.
got to do it tonight. It is an ideal opportunity. They have got to | :53:29. | :53:35.
make things happen. This is it. They do not want to be going into | :53:35. | :53:39.
the Ukraine game needing to win, they need to win tonight. I do not | :53:39. | :53:48.
see England losing tonight. ALAN HANSEN: When you consider what | :53:48. | :53:51.
kind of season Andy Carroll had at Liverpool, up until the last few | :53:51. | :53:56.
weeks, everybody was writing him off, and yet the last few weeks, he | :53:56. | :54:00.
showed his real form. If he shows it here tonight and gets a couple | :54:00. | :54:08.
of goals, he will be a national hero. It could be a battle of the | :54:08. | :54:14.
pony tails. There's one of them. ALAN SHEARER: It could be a big | :54:14. | :54:19.
night for him, but I just hope they get the right service in to him. If | :54:19. | :54:23.
they do, he is unplayable, they will not handle him if the service | :54:23. | :54:30.
is right. Football is at its finest when it is at its most excruciating. | :54:30. | :54:35.
Prepared to suffer for a while. The commentators are Mark Lawrenson and | :54:35. | :54:45.
:54:45. | :54:55. | ||
GUY MOWBRAY: This is England's second game of the tournament, and | :54:55. | :54:59.
they have won their second game at the last three European | :55:00. | :55:03.
Championships they have played in. It started 16 years ago today at | :55:03. | :55:07.
Wembley, with goals from Alan Shearer and Paul Gascoigne against | :55:07. | :55:16.
Scotland. It was only in November when these two last clashed, a 1-0 | :55:16. | :55:20.
win for England which proved to be Fabio Capello's farewell. It was | :55:20. | :55:30.
:55:30. | :55:35. | ||
also England's first win against Sweden since 1968. Steven Gerrard | :55:35. | :55:38.
and Zlatan Ibrahimovic Begin the relatively short walk out into the | :55:38. | :55:48.
:55:48. | :55:55. | ||
They will be greeted by a huge wall of noise which will be | :55:55. | :56:02.
predominantly Swedish. This is base camp for the Swedes, and they are | :56:02. | :56:11.
here in great numbers, making Kiev feel almost like a second Stockholm. | :56:11. | :56:14.
Of course, you can never underestimate the vocal abilities | :56:14. | :56:18.
of those who have travelled here to support England, although | :56:18. | :56:20.
support England, although relatively small in number by their | :56:20. | :56:28.
usual standards. But the flags are out, and they are making themselves | :56:28. | :56:38.
:56:38. | :57:09. | ||

during the anthems. Before the defeat to Ukraine, his side had won | :59:13. | :59:20.
every game since losing to England in November. They are experienced, | :59:20. | :59:29.
they are tall and strong, and they have the bulk of the crowd tonight. | :59:29. | :59:35.
Let's take a look at the line-ups, starting with Sweden. The coach | :59:35. | :59:39.
said only five or six players reached the level he wanted against | :59:39. | :59:44.
Ukraine, and he has reacted with three changes tonight, three | :59:44. | :59:54.
:59:54. | :00:10. | ||
players who are all know the referee is 35. He has officiated in | :00:10. | :00:20.
:00:20. | :00:32. | ||
they would be. Oxlade-Chamberlain makes way for Andy Carroll and | :00:32. | :00:38.
Ashley Young plays wide on the left. Andy Carroll has only played a few | :00:38. | :00:47.
minutes of competitive football for England. But it is 96 appearances | :00:47. | :00:57.
:00:57. | :01:05. | ||
Wayne Rooney, it is a full complement of substitutes for | :01:05. | :01:15.
:01:15. | :01:26. | ||
who scored in every one of his country's past four games. Steven | :01:26. | :01:31.
Gerrard has not scored since March when he got a hat-trick in the | :01:31. | :01:41.
:01:41. | :02:15. | ||
started at the impressive Olympic game. It really will be an | :02:15. | :02:19.
indication of just how far both these teams could go in the | :02:19. | :02:27.
tournament. If England win, it will give them such a good chance of | :02:27. | :02:32.
qualification for the quarter- finals. Mark Lawrenson is alongside | :02:32. | :02:39.
me. We have a perfect view and it is perfect playing conditions. | :02:39. | :02:44.
are, and I think quite often your team selection is a statement of | :02:44. | :02:54.
:02:54. | :03:11. | ||
intent, and as far as England are Albion, a player known so well to | :03:11. | :03:21.
:03:21. | :03:56. | ||
misplaced. Roy Hodgson still very much respected back in Sweden. A | :03:56. | :04:06.

dozen years of his coaching career spent in the country, bringing | :04:09. | :04:19.

success to Halmstad Antti 20 Cole, who was in a very useful | :05:47. | :05:57.
:05:57. | :06:36. | ||
attacking position. Isaksson, the supporters as England pass it | :06:36. | :06:46.

:09:51. | :10:03. | ||
England have to be patient because Sweden are happy to sit in there. | :10:03. | :10:06.
They are told team yet they have this deficiency in keeping out | :10:06. | :10:16.

past Mellberg and might have been a way until Mellberg got to grips | :11:58. | :12:08.
:12:08. | :12:10. | ||
with the Liverpool striker. Early impressions? I think it is going to | :12:10. | :12:16.
be a long, hard night, in all honesty. Sweden are sitting in two | :12:17. | :12:22.
banks are for, sitting in there. Pushing the wide men for England | :12:22. | :12:32.
:12:32. | :12:32. | ||

worry about is the issue of temperature tonight. It is a lot | :13:42. | :13:46.
cooler in the Kiev and it has been in Donetsk, by England go again on | :13:46. | :13:56.
:13:56. | :14:20. | ||
between the Ibrahimovic and Rosenberg during the last game. But | :14:20. | :14:26.
then again, Ibrahimovic has fallen out with most members of the Sweden | :14:26. | :14:36.
:14:36. | :15:14. | ||
Ukraine so it may not be as lacking in balance in favour of Sweden as | :15:14. | :15:24.
:15:24. | :15:24. | ||

safety. We had been warned about the long throw of Rasmus Elm before | :16:17. | :16:27.
:16:27. | :17:00. | ||
Mellberg and stayed there, but it went wide. This was a great ball in, | :17:00. | :17:09.
a fantastic ball in from James Milner. So far, those crosses that | :17:10. | :17:15.
we were told must be delivered are coming mainly from James Milner. | :17:15. | :17:25.
:17:25. | :17:49. | ||
Yes, he has started extremely Welbeck just to tuck in a little | :17:49. | :17:59.
:17:59. | :18:36. | ||
Johnson gets back, importantly so. MARK LAWRENSON: Yes, he made a | :18:36. | :18:43.
vital interception the other night against the French as well. | :18:43. | :18:47.
GUY MOWBRAY: I think already we have seen enough of Zlatan to know | :18:47. | :18:52.
that he will be a threat in the match at some stage. He is a player, | :18:52. | :19:02.
:19:02. | :19:29. | ||
but you have got to keep him thought for character. Like Roy | :19:29. | :19:34.
Hodgson, did not have a particularly distinguished playing | :19:34. | :19:44.
:19:44. | :20:18. | ||
career, indeed, like so many forward from right back. It was a | :20:18. | :20:28.
:20:28. | :21:04. | ||
have done that with it! That was easy for Martin Olsson. Larsson has | :21:04. | :21:14.
:21:14. | :21:21. | ||
come in from the right-hand side. Ibrahimovic lets fly! That was not | :21:21. | :21:30.
easy for Joe Hart. No, but it was a comfortable save. England have got | :21:30. | :21:35.
to be careful not to give Ibrahimovic too much time. You were | :21:35. | :21:38.
saying about keeping him disinterested. But he looks | :21:38. | :21:43.
reasonably up for it. Well, he is relishing this new role, off the | :21:43. | :21:48.
striker. He has normally been the fall would most striker during his | :21:48. | :21:58.
:21:58. | :22:01. | ||
career. -- the most forward striker. He has had 28 goals for Milan this | :22:01. | :22:11.
:22:11. | :22:46. | ||
season, and yet he continues to be try to stay in front of Ibrahimovic, | :22:46. | :22:56.
:22:56. | :22:58. | ||
and struggling all the time. Larsson breaking into the box. | :22:58. | :23:08.
:23:08. | :23:27. | ||
Terry looked like he was running in of Glen Johnson... He said he | :23:27. | :23:30.
wanted his team to show more quality in the final third of the | :23:30. | :23:40.
:23:40. | :24:02. | ||
field. He thought that England were special. He went for Hollywood. | :24:02. | :24:12.
:24:12. | :24:45. | ||
he only found the corner flag. It with James Milner. It is a bit of a | :24:45. | :24:48.
battle between James Milner and Martin Olsson down that side of the | :24:48. | :24:58.
:24:58. | :25:00. | ||
field. Andy Carroll! Steven Gerrard to Andy Carroll! England, 1-0! | :25:00. | :25:03.
an absolutely brilliant ball this was. Great reaction as well by Andy | :25:03. | :25:13.
:25:13. | :25:21. | ||
Carroll. Great reaction from Wayne Rooney! All in this together! | :25:21. | :25:26.
key is the cross. He had a very quick look, Steven Gerrard, and | :25:26. | :25:33.
then he just wrap his right foot around it. And that was a great | :25:33. | :25:38.
finish, goalkeeper no chance. That's Andy Carroll, that's more | :25:38. | :25:43.
like it. Look at that. That is a moment that he will savour for the | :25:43. | :25:46.
rest of his football career. His first appearance at a major | :25:46. | :25:50.
tournament, his first start in a game that really means something | :25:50. | :25:57.
for England, and he has got his first goal. Roy Hodgson is happy. | :25:57. | :26:03.
That's exactly what he has been put in the team for. Right, just don't | :26:03. | :26:07.
sit back now England, just keep this line, it is really good at the | :26:07. | :26:17.
:26:17. | :26:32. | ||
but Lescott will have to be alert, and he is. Three goals in Andy | :26:32. | :26:35.
Carroll's last seven appearances of the season for Liverpool. He | :26:35. | :26:45.
:26:45. | :26:46. | ||
started to look good as the season came to a close. For all of Spain's | :26:46. | :26:51.
passing, and supposedly the right way to play football, England have | :26:51. | :27:01.
:27:01. | :27:26. | ||
just shown another way - hit the Olsson! Blocked by James Milner, an | :27:26. | :27:31.
England just getting paid back now. MARK LAWRENSON: Yes, it happens on | :27:31. | :27:36.
so many occasions when you take the lead, you can get paid back. Just | :27:36. | :27:46.
:27:46. | :28:11. | ||
international in March of last year against Ghana. Now he is up and | :28:11. | :28:14.
running in games that matter. I should think that will be a goal | :28:14. | :28:24.
:28:24. | :28:41. | ||
which will have particularly Scott Parker, but the referee is | :28:41. | :28:51.
:28:51. | :29:24. | ||
the 90 minutes against France. They are having more in this match. | :29:24. | :29:28.
James Milner has got the return from Glen Johnson, and he tried to | :29:28. | :29:38.
:29:38. | :29:40. | ||
pull it back for Johnson. Well done, Johnson, he read that one, keeping | :29:40. | :29:50.
:29:50. | :30:01. | ||
has gone forward, and Granqvist can move into the space on the right. | :30:01. | :30:11.

Apology for the loss of subtitles for 88 seconds | :30:11. | :32:07.
It is one of Sweden's best periods by Elm and Olsson. John Terry did | :32:07. | :32:17.
:32:17. | :32:36. | ||
His brother, David, had a little spell at Fulham, under Roy Hodgson, | :32:36. | :32:43.
who will know all about Sweden and the players. And their mentality. | :32:43. | :32:53.
:32:53. | :33:31. | ||
Which he helped to shape, in terms again, just frustrated Sweden, and | :33:31. | :33:41.
:33:41. | :34:19. | ||
nice height for Joe Hart. That came from Parker tried to force the | :34:19. | :34:25.
issue at the other end. He does not need to. The next thing is, England | :34:25. | :34:31.
are having to defend. That was a major bugbear of yours in the first | :34:31. | :34:36.
game against France. We have just had three instances of Sweden, | :34:36. | :34:41.
under a little bit of pressure, and giving England the ball back. | :34:41. | :34:51.
:34:51. | :35:07. | ||
out there, with Ibrahimovic having been struggling with a little bit | :35:07. | :35:17.
:35:17. | :35:51. | ||
from Ashley Cole. And a great tackle from John Terry. A very | :35:51. | :35:57.
important tackle. And Ibrahimovic is hurt. Ashley Cole puts the ball | :35:57. | :36:04.
out of play. A does not need to, it is up to the referee to blow. Well | :36:04. | :36:14.
:36:14. | :36:40. | ||
Ibrahimovic. I think you have to be a great player to play with pink | :36:40. | :36:50.
:36:50. | :36:50. | ||
Apology for the loss of subtitles for 88 seconds | :36:50. | :37:36.
corner himself and Welbeck and Andy Carroll asking him why. Gray to | :37:36. | :37:41.
first-time ball from Ashley Cole. Get in the box and take the | :37:41. | :37:49.
defender on! He cannot tackle you. It is frustrating. Ashley Young has | :37:49. | :37:54.
averaged better than I'd goal every other game in his last 11 | :37:54. | :38:04.
:38:04. | :38:04. | ||
Apology for the loss of subtitles for 88 seconds | :38:04. | :39:26.
but it was always rising. Yes, Joe very big player in the European | :39:26. | :39:36.
:39:36. | :39:45. | ||
against the referee but it was accidental. Good touch, as well, | :39:45. | :39:55.
:39:55. | :39:56. | ||
from the referee. He did well not to show any signs of that stinging. | :39:56. | :40:06.
:40:06. | :40:19. | ||
Probably killing him! Good job it as that of the referee. He left | :40:19. | :40:24.
Bolton won it years ago and promptly won the title in his first | :40:24. | :40:34.
:40:34. | :40:34. | ||
Apology for the loss of subtitles for 88 seconds | :40:34. | :41:35.
to Ibrahimovic but England had the England have adapted to the changes | :41:35. | :41:42.
that Roy Hodgson has made? So far, so could. They got themselves the | :41:42. | :41:46.
lead. I keep harping on about keeping the ball a little bit | :41:46. | :41:52.
better. But Sweden are an ordinary team and it is important that | :41:52. | :41:57.
England do not make them look any better than they are. The key is to | :41:57. | :42:07.
:42:07. | :42:07. | ||
Apology for the loss of subtitles for 88 seconds | :42:07. | :43:01.
score the second goal. As quickly past. Free-kick given against | :43:01. | :43:11.
:43:11. | :43:12. | ||
Mellberg. Andy Carroll is down. It won't be for long. Locking arms | :43:12. | :43:18.
with Mellberg and almost dragging the Sweden player down himself. He | :43:18. | :43:28.
:43:28. | :43:28. | ||
Apology for the loss of subtitles for 88 seconds | :43:28. | :44:23.
has done the job that he was detail instructions coming from Roy | :44:23. | :44:29.
Hodgson. And when he goes back to the bench, one of the other England | :44:29. | :44:39.
:44:39. | :45:17. | ||
Mellberg. It had to beat time to really well. Welbeck did not have | :45:17. | :45:22.
much to do, just five players to beat! But could to see that he had | :45:23. | :45:32.
:45:33. | :45:52. | ||
the confidence to believe he could Elmander but there was cover from | :45:52. | :46:02.
Hart and up from Terry. Just one more minute of the first 45 plus | :46:02. | :46:12.
:46:12. | :46:37. | ||
whatever is added on. Just see it Send the cavalry up, as well, last | :46:37. | :46:47.
:46:47. | :46:48. | ||

out on that occasion. -- their quite take the ball in his stride. | :48:07. | :48:10.
The other thing was, Ashley Cole played him on instead of stepping | :48:10. | :48:15.
up. But that's half-time. Andy Carroll, brought in to be an aerial | :48:15. | :48:19.
threat, to put the pressure on Sweden, and that's exactly what has | :48:19. | :48:27.
happened. One ball in from Steven Gerrard, one thumping header from | :48:27. | :48:37.
:48:37. | :48:47. | ||
his Liverpool colleague Andy So far, so good. But in three other | :48:47. | :48:50.
major tournaments England have met Sweden, and they have led at half- | :48:50. | :48:55.
time in each of those, and not won any of them! But England have | :48:55. | :49:01.
largely dominated... Yes, obviously Roy Hodgson takes the plaudits for | :49:01. | :49:05.
picking Andy Carroll. It was a fantastic header. Like Alan said, | :49:06. | :49:10.
if you cross it early and put pace on the ball, it is difficult to | :49:10. | :49:13.
defend against. But I think basically we are watching two | :49:13. | :49:19.
average sides. The play has been fragmented. The Swedes are poor. If | :49:19. | :49:22.
England can get it down and play, they could run out convincing | :49:22. | :49:28.
winners. Never mind that average side business, let's get the biased | :49:28. | :49:33.
view out of the way and get on to really neutral England perspective. | :49:33. | :49:37.
Two bits of tremendous qualities summed up the first half. Steven | :49:37. | :49:42.
Gerrard, that was an unbelievable cross. We said it beforehand, if | :49:42. | :49:46.
you get the right ball into the box, Andy Carroll is unplayable. It was | :49:46. | :49:51.
a great cross but an equally good header. But really, that was the | :49:51. | :49:55.
only bit of quality in the first half. Sweden are there for the | :49:55. | :49:59.
taking. They are not a good side. England have to try to keep the | :50:00. | :50:06.
ball a bit more. We have got the goal, now keep the ball. Then we | :50:06. | :50:10.
can hit them on the break. Ashley Young is not playing on the left- | :50:10. | :50:16.
hand side, as we thought he would do, he has got more of a free role. | :50:16. | :50:20.
I think if he was to give us a bit more width on the left-hand side, | :50:20. | :50:26.
we would get more joy from crosses. Lee, your perspective on the first | :50:26. | :50:29.
half? We have known that England are not perhaps the most free- | :50:29. | :50:33.
flowing team in history, but if you're organised and disciplined | :50:33. | :50:35.
and you do what the manager tells you, you can get something out of | :50:35. | :50:41.
it. Yes, there is not a lot of quality in there, apart from Steven | :50:41. | :50:49.
Gerrard's ball, but I don't care. We are doing better than Sweden. | :50:49. | :50:52.
Ibrahimovic is the only one in the Sweden side for me who has got a | :50:52. | :50:57.
brain. The others are not on the same wavelength at all. So, you | :50:57. | :51:00.
keep your concentration at the back. There have been a couple of times | :51:00. | :51:05.
when we have got a bit deep at the back. Ashley Cole, because Ashley | :51:05. | :51:09.
Young is drifting inside, is going a bit too tight for me. If he sits | :51:09. | :51:13.
back a little bit, because a couple of times they have got into that | :51:13. | :51:18.
space behind him, and John Terry has had to come out and Johnson has | :51:18. | :51:23.
had to cover as well. Other than that, I agree with Alan, they are | :51:23. | :51:29.
there for the taking. They just need a bit more composure on the | :51:29. | :51:35.
ball. They have got to get it down and play. The one person that can | :51:35. | :51:40.
get it and play is the captain, Steven Gerrard. He has led by | :51:40. | :51:44.
example, led from the front. And it was a terrific cross, and you were | :51:44. | :51:52.
so excited! Andy Carroll Nos Steven Gerrard's game, and vice versa, | :51:52. | :51:56.
from Liverpool. If there is one guy who can put a ball on a sixpence | :51:56. | :52:00.
like that, it is Steven Gerrard. like that, it is Steven Gerrard. | :52:01. | :52:01.
like that, it is Steven Gerrard. But Andy Carroll, just look what he | :52:01. | :52:07.
does to the full-back. He just nudges the full back to try and get | :52:07. | :52:11.
in front, but he does not let him. He gets him between the centre half | :52:11. | :52:15.
and the full-back, which you should do. We have been saying it for a | :52:15. | :52:19.
long time, the right ball into the box, with pace and power, and he | :52:19. | :52:24.
will do that all day long, that's why he was so good at Newcastle. | :52:24. | :52:28.
think James Milner does really well initially. He forces Martin Olsson | :52:28. | :52:32.
to play it down the line, and from that situation, Steven Gerrard | :52:32. | :52:42.
:52:42. | :52:45. | ||
picked it up. Get in there, Roy! Normally come as a defender, you | :52:45. | :52:50.
would be thinking, cross it all day long. It is the one thing you were | :52:50. | :52:54.
going on about constantly during the game, we have got to get balls | :52:54. | :53:00.
in. Milner had done it sometimes, other times he has not. | :53:00. | :53:04.
ALAN SHEARER: Andy Carroll was excellent in the build up there, | :53:04. | :53:10.
knocks it out wide, and yes, that was a decent ball from James Milner. | :53:10. | :53:15.
But we can do that more, we really can. James Milner has had one or | :53:15. | :53:18.
two opportunities, and he has actually come back on his left foot. | :53:18. | :53:23.
But it is a quality ball into the box. That was a poor header from | :53:23. | :53:29.
Welbeck. When you look at Granqvist, playing at right-back, he is not | :53:29. | :53:34.
aware of the danger. On the goal, he should have been on the other | :53:34. | :53:38.
side of Andy Carroll. As a centre- back, playing full-back, he does | :53:38. | :53:43.
not seem to know where he is. have not been that many chances. | :53:43. | :53:49.
Scott Parker, this was a terrific effort. It was a great effort, and | :53:49. | :53:59.
:53:59. | :54:02. | ||
equally as good a save. He did really well with the chest as well. | :54:02. | :54:08.
From this angle, that was a fantastic save. It just goes behind | :54:08. | :54:13.
Olsson, so the keeper sees it late. This one, Ashley Young should have | :54:13. | :54:17.
done better. ALAN HANSEN: Ashley Young has been | :54:17. | :54:23.
totally disappointing. The first touch was as bad as you will see. | :54:23. | :54:26.
ALAN SHEARER: He has got to take that down the line on his left foot, | :54:26. | :54:30.
have more confidence. As I said before, he is not really playing as | :54:30. | :54:37.
a left-sided player. He is playing more on the inside. It is 1-0 in | :54:37. | :54:41.
the battle of the pony tails, but there is no question that he is a | :54:41. | :54:47.
thorn in our side. He is a threat, no question. We pick up Ashley Cole | :54:47. | :54:52.
here, too far up. Ashley Callus -- Ashley Young loses it, and now the | :54:53. | :54:56.
defence has got to get back. Johnson does brilliantly well to | :54:56. | :55:01.
cover there. But there are just signs of him trying to get into | :55:01. | :55:06.
dangerous areas. Here again, look at Ashley Cole, high up the pitch, | :55:06. | :55:09.
and Ibrahimovic is able to run into the space which Ashley Cole has | :55:09. | :55:14.
vacated. You do not want to leave John Terry exposed like this. | :55:14. | :55:22.
has got that piano on his back, like Shevchenko! To be fair to him, | :55:22. | :55:27.
he does well. Just signs here that England are trying to drop too deep. | :55:27. | :55:31.
They have got to be aware of the Ibrahimovic, you just worry that he | :55:31. | :55:35.
is starting to get into the game. He is a quality player, we have | :55:35. | :55:39.
seen that in the first half. If England can keep him quiet for | :55:39. | :55:47.
another 45 minutes, they will have a great chance. Keep him on the | :55:47. | :55:51.
halfway line, keep him in his own half! Let's have a look at what | :55:51. | :55:57.
happened in the other game, played earlier today. Jonathan Pearce was | :55:57. | :56:02.
the commentator. Frank Ribery, the commentator. Frank Ribery, | :56:02. | :56:12.
:56:12. | :56:16. | ||
using his strength and his pace. 1- 0, France! Menez has had his | :56:16. | :56:21.
chances, and he has finally taken one. He cut in on his left foot. | :56:21. | :56:28.
Such an important goal in these Championships. Good turn from | :56:28. | :56:37.
Benzema, and a chance for your Hulkenberg. -- and a chance for | :56:37. | :56:41.
Yohan Cabaye. And France have doubled their lead! Starting on | :56:41. | :56:51.
:56:51. | :57:29. | ||

Our next live games are the deciding matches in Group A | :58:28. | :58:38.
:58:38. | :58:41. | ||
tomorrow night. All four teams can still qualify. Back in Kiev, Gabby | :58:41. | :58:45.
is with David James and Martin Keown. First of all, the manager's | :58:45. | :58:54.
decision to pick Andy Carroll, the tactics, worked perfectly. Yes, it | :58:54. | :59:01.
was like Tarzan to the rescue, his power, his strength, a wonderful | :59:01. | :59:07.
cross, just begging to be put into the back of the net. The tactics | :59:07. | :59:13.
are going to plan. The cross was a peach from Stevie Gerrard. It shows | :59:13. | :59:18.
what a difference he can make with a target man like Andy Carroll. | :59:18. | :59:22.
was almost like a Premier League game, wasn't it, at times? But at | :59:22. | :59:27.
the other end, Ibrahimovic has got the same process. You cannot switch | :59:27. | :59:34.
off. Seeing him in the flesh, he is absolutely massive, absolutely huge. | :59:34. | :59:38.
I just feel in possession, we need now wide players to drift in more | :59:38. | :59:44.
centrally, just so we can keep the ball and enjoy being in front. But | :59:44. | :59:47.
what we tend to do as an English team, we only know how to play one | :59:47. | :59:52.
way, and that's getting the ball forward. Just be a bit more patient | :59:52. | :59:57.
and I think it will be a good night for us. I would agree with Martin. | :59:57. | :00:02.
I have been optimistic all the way up to this point. The two banks of | :00:02. | :00:07.
four worked so well against France, but we seem to be a little bit | :00:07. | :00:12.
apart tonight. Sweden have had some opportunities, and with a bit more | :00:12. | :00:18.
cute passing from midfield, we could be in trouble. We know about | :00:18. | :00:22.
their history against Sweden, and we have been ahead in the last | :00:22. | :00:26.
three competitive games, but tonight it is going to be | :00:26. | :00:31.
different...? It certainly is. We do not want John Terry to get | :00:31. | :00:39.
isolated. Listen, Roy has never lost against Sweden! I like that | :00:39. | :00:45.
positivity! Going into the second half, it will be more or less the | :00:45. | :00:51.
same, won't it? We mustn't get overly cautious, must we? I would | :00:51. | :00:57.
say in the dressing room, Roy will be happy, but he will be taking the | :00:57. | :01:03.
players to get it down and play, and they will make chances. Roy | :01:03. | :01:07.
will have told them, you cannot go beyond the 18 yard line. You can | :01:07. | :01:12.
see the two banks of four. John Terry, the leads centre-back, | :01:12. | :01:17.
saying, right, one the ball has gone back towards the Swedish goal, | :01:17. | :01:23.
push them out. But it is absolutely amazing, in the last 10 minutes of | :01:23. | :01:28.
that half, how much deeper and deeper they started to get. It is | :01:28. | :01:31.
just having the confidence and the ability and the belief in yourself | :01:31. | :01:36.
to say, let's stays strong, get the ball, pass it around, don't be | :01:37. | :01:41.
scared. Sweden are not a great team. One man in particular who has done | :01:41. | :01:46.
that, Steven Gerrard. He has been brilliant, Captain's performance in | :01:46. | :01:51.
that first half. He has been driving them on. We will never get | :01:51. | :01:56.
fed up of seeing the ball like this. It is not ordinarily an area you | :01:56. | :02:01.
would be encouraging people to cross from. Like we said before, | :02:01. | :02:07.
pick it up, play it, get it back, move. Talk about leading by example, | :02:08. | :02:17.
:02:18. | :02:26. | ||
His pressure in the middle of the park is key to the back four | :02:26. | :02:32.
staying up and not backing off. Well boy Hartson be saying more of | :02:32. | :02:38.
the same? He will also be Saints keep the ball, happily confidence | :02:38. | :02:43.
to pass it around. We are not used to do that in England, but we can | :02:43. | :02:48.
do that again Sweden because they are not a great side. The frailty | :02:48. | :02:52.
against the French in the last half-hour was to give it away | :02:52. | :02:58.
cheaply. You cannot afford to give it away cheaply. You keep the ball | :02:58. | :03:05.
by getting it wider. Ashley Young, have stayed wider. Gerrard has been | :03:05. | :03:10.
a great example in that first half to everyone, getting the ball and | :03:10. | :03:17.
not being afraid, passing it at the right time. Driving forward, | :03:17. | :03:22.
getting support into the to forward players. Sweden are going to have a | :03:22. | :03:26.
go because they are out of the tournament if it stays like this. | :03:26. | :03:32.
And the man they are looking at, everyone is looking at. I cannot | :03:32. | :03:37.
believe you English, so tense and nervous! England are going to win | :03:37. | :03:46.
this game. History suggests that we always hold on to the lead! It has | :03:46. | :03:56.
:03:56. | :04:08. | ||
Olympic Stadium. Sweden have to really up their game in the second | :04:08. | :04:18.
:04:18. | :04:21. | ||
half off their supporters will be heading back north. England in the | :04:21. | :04:26.
ascendancy, in the lead, though they have been so many times in the | :04:26. | :04:34.
past and it has not quite ended that way. Prayer to tonight, | :04:34. | :04:41.
England had won only six out of 14 European Championship games when | :04:41. | :04:51.
:04:51. | :05:30. | ||
temptation to make any half-time changes. I wonder what the | :05:30. | :05:38.
assessment from the manager would be? You would think he would rip | :05:38. | :05:43.
them up at half time. The first half performance was average at | :05:43. | :05:53.

Ibrahimovic took it from him. is Larsson country. You would think | :07:32. | :07:37.
so. Nobody had a better strike rate from this distance than the | :07:38. | :07:47.
:07:48. | :08:24. | ||
have lost the lead again. The old man of the team, Mellberg, a | :08:24. | :08:33.
sneaking forward to score. It was the second touch from Ibrahimovic, | :08:33. | :08:39.
where he came in for the volley and it just broke took Mellberg. But it | :08:39. | :08:49.
:08:49. | :08:59. | ||
line trying to keep it out. He nearly did but was unfortunate to | :08:59. | :09:07.
hit the post. There is a bit of fortune there for Sweden. It came | :09:07. | :09:17.
:09:17. | :09:45. | ||
pass that Ashley Cole misjudged. Yes, he let it bounce. England have | :09:45. | :09:52.
been in this position so many times. It is always a roller-coaster | :09:52. | :09:57.
watching England. What will it do for Sweden? What abused for them, | :09:57. | :10:07.
:10:07. | :10:37. | ||
so soon in the second half. -- what start sloppily in the second half. | :10:37. | :10:43.
And that is exactly what has happened. It has got the Swedish | :10:43. | :10:53.

England 1. England had the lead from Glen Johnson, because Rasmus | :15:10. | :15:13.
Elm was poised to put Sweden in front. | :15:13. | :15:23.
:15:23. | :15:25. | ||
MARK LAWRENSON: Yes, he is really good at that. Larsson missed this | :15:25. | :15:32.
one and he is furious with himself. Sweden have grown in confidence, | :15:32. | :15:42.
:15:42. | :16:08. | ||
they are playing with so much more get away from the attentions of | :16:08. | :16:18.
:16:18. | :16:50. | ||
Ashley Young. Headed away by played by the swings now. That will | :16:50. | :17:00.
be a yellow card. It is his own fault, because he had just knocked | :17:00. | :17:10.
:17:10. | :17:17. | ||
off, the full-back was away. Cannot argue with that one. Now, a chance | :17:17. | :17:27.
:17:27. | :17:47. | ||
for Sweden to get bodies into the of his customary excellent free | :17:47. | :17:57.
:17:57. | :17:59. | ||
kicks. And he does! It is a goal for Olof Mellberg! England have | :17:59. | :18:09.
:18:09. | :18:09. | ||
caved in! And they have been beaten by their own game plan! Balls into | :18:09. | :18:17.
the box. And it is a Swedish defender who spent seven years of | :18:17. | :18:23.
his life playing in England for Aston Villa. Two for Mellberg, | :18:23. | :18:31.
trouble for England. I do not even think there is a challenge here. It | :18:31. | :18:36.
comes in from a long, long way away as well. Completely unmarked, | :18:36. | :18:46.
:18:46. | :18:47. | ||
absolutely free header. Splendid isolation, if you're a Swede. | :18:47. | :18:51.
Tonight, it is getting on for three years since Olof Mellberg last | :18:51. | :18:57.
scored for his country, and he has got two in 10 minutes. Here they | :18:57. | :19:07.
:19:07. | :19:15. | ||
far side of the field. Ashley Young... Welbeck waiting, but he | :19:16. | :19:20.
will not get on to that. Jonas Olsson puts it behind, takes no | :19:21. | :19:30.
:19:31. | :19:48. | ||
chances at all. England are going Granqvist can be treated. | :19:48. | :19:58.
:19:58. | :20:00. | ||
MARK LAWRENSON: I'm afraid it is that same old England. James Milner | :20:00. | :20:04.
is going to go off, Theo Walcott will come on. It will not change | :20:04. | :20:13.
the shape but it might just give a little bit of energy and speed. | :20:13. | :20:22.
long has Walcott been in the squad, six years? That game against | :20:22. | :20:28.
Croatia, that was when he made his name. He has lived off that, time | :20:28. | :20:38.
:20:38. | :20:58. | ||
Ibrahimovic. Johnson stops him. Great challenge, Johnson, yet again. | :20:58. | :21:04.
And England, from their own corner, all of a sudden, they are down the | :21:04. | :21:14.
:21:14. | :21:28. | ||
comes in from Gerrard. Anders Svensson had two or three options | :21:28. | :21:38.
:21:38. | :21:45. | ||
there. I think England need to get this turnaround at the halfway | :21:45. | :21:50.
stage? England had not looked in any particular danger throughout | :21:50. | :22:00.
:22:00. | :22:01. | ||
the first 45 minutes. That is a booking for Mellberg, I think. | :22:01. | :22:05.
Interestingly, they are not giving the first goal to him, because | :22:05. | :22:13.
Johnson played it on to the post and back in. Own goal, Glen Johnson. | :22:13. | :22:21.
Yes, just two poor goals to concede. The cross comes in from Johnson! | :22:21. | :22:29.
What a save from Isaksson! How on earth did he keep that out?! There | :22:29. | :22:34.
was a suspicion of offside, but it is a brilliant save. It was a great | :22:34. | :22:42.
ball in from Johnson. It just hit the Swedish goalkeeper. It doesn't | :22:42. | :22:52.
:22:52. | :23:04. | ||
matter. John Terry thought he had corner, well-defended by Jonas | :23:04. | :23:14.
:23:14. | :23:14. | ||
Olsson. Walcott! What a strike from Theo Walcott! And there's real hope | :23:14. | :23:24.
again for England! Smashed in from distance. He must have been | :23:24. | :23:34.
:23:34. | :23:35. | ||
listening! Very different reaction from the England coach to what we | :23:35. | :23:45.
saw from Sweden's. The goalkeeper just never saw it at all. It is | :23:45. | :23:55.
:23:55. | :23:56. | ||
curling, drifting away from Isaksson. And it really is game on | :23:56. | :24:06.
:24:06. | :24:13. | ||
in Kiev. The second half has been Theo Walcott's contribution since | :24:13. | :24:22.
coming on. Second touch, beautiful. Talk about making an impact. | :24:22. | :24:29.
Granqvist is still struggling. Sweden are going to make a change | :24:29. | :24:35.
and put Lustig on. He started at right back in Sweden's opening game. | :24:35. | :24:39.
He joined Celtic halfway through last season, but barely played, | :24:39. | :24:49.
:24:49. | :24:51. | ||
largely due to a succession of injuries. And it is as you were | :24:51. | :24:59.
again. How positive do you want to be? Just have a go. When I first | :24:59. | :25:03.
saw it, I thought it was deflected, just by the movement of the | :25:03. | :25:12.
goalkeeper. Lovely reaction from Theo Walcott. As if to suggest he | :25:12. | :25:17.
did not know quite how that had happened. I don't think he is | :25:17. | :25:26.
bothered. His fourth International goal, only the second international | :25:26. | :25:36.
:25:36. | :25:44. | ||
Parker! Stevie Gerrard was blocked! But not in the opinion of the | :25:44. | :25:54.
:25:54. | :26:27. | ||
was completely taken up there. Anders Svensson has gone in with | :26:27. | :26:32.
his arm, and just lifted it a little, too. He is berating the 4th | :26:32. | :26:42.
:26:42. | :27:11. | ||
Welbeck? Needs to be spot on... Great tackle, Mellberg. When he | :27:11. | :27:16.
left Aston Villa four years ago, we thought he was about done. | :27:16. | :27:26.
:27:26. | :27:29. | ||
today he looks as strong as ever. The game is getting stretched now. | :27:29. | :27:39.
:27:39. | :27:53. | ||
Kallstrom is starting to have more the ball at the moment. That was | :27:53. | :28:03.
:28:03. | :28:19. | ||
Rasmus Elm finding plenty of room Johnson and Walcott, but look at | :28:19. | :28:29.
:28:29. | :28:58. | ||
the strength shown by the Swedish Johnson. | :28:58. | :29:08.
:29:08. | :29:10. | ||
MARK LAWRENSON: England's best defender, Glen Johnson. | :29:10. | :29:15.
Andy Carroll had to stretch, and then went for goal! Was he entitled | :29:15. | :29:22.
to shoot? He was, he was entitled to shoot. Isaksson looked | :29:22. | :29:32.
:29:32. | :29:49. | ||
get to that one with time to spare. Joe Hart just kept it in - well, | :29:49. | :29:55.
that's the verdict, I'm not sure it was right. There was a referee's | :29:55. | :29:59.
assistant stood right next to it, but did not seem to give anything. | :29:59. | :30:04.
The referee has given it, I think. He must have had a signal from that | :30:04. | :30:11.
gentleman there. It has gone out all right. And he has indicated the | :30:11. | :30:21.

those players when you send armed, he does not have to think about it, | :38:44. | :38:50.

nervous moments before the end of this game for England's supporters. | :47:04. | :47:13.

commanding, on that occasion. the last three, he has done | :47:17. | :47:27.
:47:27. | :47:44. | ||
Joe Hart has it. John Terry did brilliantly, he knew the striker | :47:44. | :47:54.
:47:54. | :48:04. | ||
could not get on to the end of it I think. Oxlade-Chamberlain has | :48:04. | :48:11.
been waiting patiently. Ashley Young, maybe? He is finally about | :48:11. | :48:21.
:48:21. | :48:27. | ||
to get his chance, having started the touchline, that was a waste as | :48:27. | :48:33.
far as he was concerned. It is Danny Welbeck who's going to go off, | :48:33. | :48:40.
having got his goal, which stands to be the winning goal for England. | :48:40. | :48:44.
It is his second for his country. He scored against Belgium in the | :48:44. | :48:49.
warm-up match, but this one matters so much more. What a finish. As you | :48:49. | :48:53.
rightly said at the time, he could not do anything else, there was no | :48:53. | :49:00.
other way of scoring. He has had a really good game. A really big test | :49:00. | :49:10.

enough, you're old enough. There's a 14-year-old playing in the US | :49:24. | :49:34.

Seb Larsson is still chuntering. I think it is actually Anders | :50:12. | :50:22.
:50:22. | :50:39. | ||
have to explain to us the thinking behind that. He has just mishit it. | :50:39. | :50:48.
We have played one minute out of four additional minutes. England, | :50:48. | :50:53.
then, three minutes away from a vital victory, the first ever in | :50:53. | :50:57.
competitive international football against the Swedes - if they can | :50:57. | :51:07.
:51:07. | :51:20. | ||
have just gone quiet now. Chance for a breakaway here, with Parker. | :51:20. | :51:25.
Walcott is outside him, and has the pace. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is in | :51:25. | :51:35.
:51:35. | :51:49. | ||
corner. That goes behind for a goal-kick. Isaksson has just kept | :51:49. | :51:59.
:51:59. | :52:17. | ||
his country in Euro 2012. For the chances, Sweden have to go forward | :52:17. | :52:27.
:52:27. | :52:53. | ||
We are into the fourth minute of injury-time here in Kiev. You just | :52:53. | :52:57.
felt at 2-1 Down, this was not going to happen. You just felt, | :52:57. | :53:07.
:53:07. | :53:21. | ||
be able to go to Donetsk next week in a commanding position against | :53:21. | :53:31.
:53:31. | :53:43. | ||
his lips, and England have got the winner that they so desperately- | :53:43. | :53:48.
needed tonight! Goodness me, they made everybody sweat! The effort, | :53:48. | :53:55.
the work, have been rewarded, with two moments of sheer class. Walcott | :53:55. | :53:59.
involved in both the goals that mattered in the second half, | :53:59. | :54:04.
scoring the first from distance, and then making a sublime third for | :54:04. | :54:09.
Danny Welbeck, to win the game for England, who now go to Donetsk in a | :54:09. | :54:15.
really strong position. Kiev tonight was or yellow, but the | :54:15. | :54:23.
tonight was or yellow, but the stars shone for England. Never | :54:23. | :54:28.
believed in bogey teams anyway! Roy Hodgson, terrific substitution, | :54:28. | :54:31.
bringing on Theo Walcott to transform England in that second | :54:31. | :54:36.
half. Joe Hart also made a vital save, an England are now in good | :54:36. | :54:40.
shape, just to draw required in their last game. It was a thrilling | :54:40. | :54:47.
game of football, Alan Hansen. was never in doubt! You say Roy | :54:47. | :54:50.
Hodgson changed the game bringing on Theo Walcott, when England were | :54:50. | :54:56.
struggling, and he did. The first one, I thought Isaksson made a | :54:56. | :55:00.
terrible mistake, but there was no element of luck about the winning | :55:00. | :55:04.
goal. It was fantastic play from Walcott down the right-hand side, | :55:04. | :55:10.
and the finish from Welbeck was absolutely exquisite. Did I hear | :55:10. | :55:14.
anyone saying that watching Roy Hodgson's side would not be | :55:14. | :55:20.
exciting?! It has blown that out of the water, this match, hasn't it? | :55:20. | :55:24.
Well, that most dramatic of victories lifts England above | :55:24. | :55:28.
victories lifts England above Ukraine, and England need only a | :55:28. | :55:36.
point now to secure a place in the quarter-finals. Sweden are | :55:36. | :55:46.
:55:46. | :55:51. | ||
eliminated from the tournament, Well, Lee, it is a win, it makes | :55:51. | :55:57.
the heart beat faster watching England, doesn't it? We were just | :55:57. | :56:01.
saying at half-time, it was not a great game, it was scrappy, but the | :56:01. | :56:05.
second half just exploded. At 2-1 Down, you really feared for England. | :56:05. | :56:11.
They were looking disjointed, they had given two goals away. But to be | :56:11. | :56:14.
fair, the spirit after that was fantastic, Theo Walcott completely | :56:14. | :56:18.
changed the game. He completely pushed the defence of Sweden back. | :56:18. | :56:23.
They got two fabulous goals. A little bit lucky with the first one, | :56:23. | :56:26.
but the second one, the movement, the passing, the keeping of the | :56:26. | :56:32.
ball, which was what we wanted them to do, were also much better. | :56:32. | :56:36.
may not be the most talented group of individuals England have ever | :56:36. | :56:41.
had, but they looked like they have got bags of heart, which is | :56:41. | :56:45.
important. We're going to need it, because we are not good enough at | :56:45. | :56:49.
keeping the football, it is good enough for everybody -- clear | :56:49. | :56:55.
enough for everybody to see. We were just screaming, keep the ball. | :56:55. | :56:58.
Welbeck's goal was the only time in the game when we actually kept the | :56:58. | :57:03.
ball. These guys are international footballers, playing in the best | :57:03. | :57:06.
leader of the world, everybody keeps saying, so they have got to | :57:06. | :57:10.
improve, to get better, and to progress in the tournament, they | :57:10. | :57:14.
will have to pass it a lot better than they have done tonight. Sweden | :57:14. | :57:19.
are an average side, at the most. England had a 20 minute spell in | :57:19. | :57:22.
the second half when they were as bad as you could believe, but it is | :57:22. | :57:26.
to their credit that they were unable to come back. Roy Hodgson | :57:26. | :57:31.
made a substitution, and did it work? Not half. It did, it changed | :57:31. | :57:36.
the game. But keeping the ball like they did after they had gone ahead | :57:36. | :57:40.
for the last time, it is a lot easier to keep the ball when it is | :57:40. | :57:43.
stretched at the end, but we have got to learn to do that in the | :57:43. | :57:47.
early part of the game, when it is tight. But it was a fabulous | :57:47. | :57:51.
comeback. We can hear now from the man who inspired that come back, | :57:51. | :57:58.
Theo Walcott. You scored one, created the winner, you were the | :57:58. | :58:03.
game-changer. It is always nice to come off the bench and show what | :58:03. | :58:07.
you can do. Obviously disappointed I did not start, but I have been | :58:07. | :58:11.
training hard. It is not about the starting line-up, it is the whole | :58:11. | :58:17.
squad, we are a family, we are all together. I think you had had three | :58:17. | :58:25.
touches! I had been doing lots of warming up, but it is always tough | :58:26. | :58:32.
at this level. To silence all of those Sweden fans, the England | :58:32. | :58:37.
supporters have been immense. means a lot to them. To make my | :58:37. | :58:40.
first appearance in such a high- profile arena, it means so much to | :58:40. | :58:44.
me. It has been a long time waiting, and hopefully there will be more to | :58:44. | :58:50.
come. Lots of physicality, the high tempo, it was like a Premier League | :58:50. | :58:55.
game. Desk, it was always going to be like that. We felt from the | :58:55. | :59:00.
first game that we wanted to pick it up a bit more in attack, and we | :59:00. | :59:07.
scored three goals. Congratulations. He turned things around. He not | :59:07. | :59:11.
only played with his usual place, but he showed real intelligence, | :59:11. | :59:16.
which has been questioned at times. What he also gave them was a bit of | :59:16. | :59:19.
energy, which England have been lacking going forward. He gave them | :59:19. | :59:24.
a bit of pace. As a manager, he one the substitute to come on and make | :59:24. | :59:28.
an impact, whether that's defensively or in attack. And | :59:28. | :59:31.
certainly, he did that tonight. He gave them pace and energy going | :59:31. | :59:37.
forward. In James Milner, and Ashley Young, who I thought was | :59:37. | :59:42.
really poor tonight, they did not offer a great deal going forward. | :59:42. | :59:46.
England took the lead in the first England took the lead in the first | :59:46. | :59:47.
England took the lead in the first half, it was a great ball in and | :59:47. | :59:53.
the wonderful header. Yes, Alan was talking before the game about what | :59:53. | :59:59.
he would want as a centre-forward, but any centre-forward in the world | :59:59. | :00:04.
would welcome a ball in like that. He does really well to get in front | :00:04. | :00:10.
of the full-back. He should have been the other side of Andy Carroll | :00:10. | :00:16.
really, he gave him too much room, but what a fabulous ball. As a | :00:16. | :00:19.
centre-forward, that's what you have got to do, you have got to get | :00:20. | :00:23.
in between the centre forward -- the centre half and the full-back. | :00:24. | :00:33.
It was a great header. Great reaction from Roy as well. I don't | :00:33. | :00:39.
know what happened at half-time - Sweden did not look like scoring in | :00:39. | :00:49.
:00:49. | :00:59. | ||
the first half, but it was a couple Johnson is pushed further back. I | :00:59. | :01:04.
am not sure that Ashley Young should be picking up Mellberg, when | :01:04. | :01:10.
we see it from the next angle. He does not even know where Mellberg | :01:10. | :01:20.
:01:20. | :01:23. | ||
is. They are totally disjointed. James Milner follows his man in, he | :01:23. | :01:29.
knows where he has. But Ashley Young, not once does he know where | :01:29. | :01:35.
Mellberg is. The way that the wall is set up, Ashley Cole is on the | :01:35. | :01:40.
edge of the wall and Ashley Young is marking. Swap that around, | :01:40. | :01:44.
police. Get the defender in the police. Get the defender in the | :01:44. | :01:50.
space running back, doing their defensive work. That was a bad one, | :01:50. | :01:59.
but the second one! The ball comes but the second one! The ball comes | :01:59. | :02:08.
40 or 50 yards. Nobody picking up. Should be keeper come for it? | :02:08. | :02:15.
Perhaps. And how deep are we? was the thing. We talked at half- | :02:15. | :02:19.
time about how did they were getting end in the second half, | :02:19. | :02:25.
they come under pressure. But there I do not see any of the England | :02:25. | :02:30.
lads showing leadership to scream of the back four, to get up on the | :02:30. | :02:33.
18 yard line. That is what it is 18 yard line. That is what it is | :02:33. | :02:40.
four, to take your mark. There are only two people that can come from, | :02:40. | :02:44.
John Terry and the goalkeeper. I said before the game that the | :02:44. | :02:49.
goalkeeper before the game was up vocal enough. The can come from | :02:49. | :02:55.
Gerrard as well because he is in there marking. It is usually your | :02:55. | :03:04.
goalkeeper would not lead centre back. At that stage, the team is | :03:04. | :03:10.
flat and struggling, but somehow flat and struggling, but somehow | :03:10. | :03:14.
they found something. The substitution made all the different. | :03:14. | :03:24.
:03:24. | :03:32. | ||
As the ball comes wide of... This is ironic. What a great save. | :03:32. | :03:39.
looks like it is deflected the way the goalkeeper was. And Theo | :03:39. | :03:43.
Walcott's expression suggested he thought he was lucky to score. | :03:43. | :03:51.
have not got one man on the edge of the box to go and close them down. | :03:51. | :04:01.
The goalkeeper, who has just made a fantastic save... And Roy has made | :04:01. | :04:03.
fantastic save... And Roy has made the substitutions and has obviously | :04:03. | :04:08.
delighted with the goal. Then, all of a sudden, we are shaking, hold | :04:08. | :04:16.
it! And what a late do? For the it! And what a late do? For the | :04:16. | :04:21.
first time. For the first time, we get hold of the ball. It is very | :04:21. | :04:30.
simple. Pass, turned pass, keep the ball. It comes out to the right | :04:30. | :04:37.
hand side with another simple little pass. It is basic stuff. And | :04:37. | :04:42.
Theo Walcott, again, the energy, that is an excellent finish and an | :04:42. | :04:52.
:04:52. | :04:53. | ||
excellent run. That is a fantastic finish. Brilliant. I would just | :04:53. | :04:58.
like to see us keep the ball like that in the first half, if we could. | :04:58. | :05:03.
What you have to say about Roy Hodgson is he has changed the | :05:03. | :05:08.
system tonight, played and the coral -- Andy Carroll and Welbeck | :05:08. | :05:13.
up front, both scored a goal and up front, both scored a goal and | :05:13. | :05:19.
made the substitutions. He got his decisions right. There is a case | :05:19. | :05:29.
:05:29. | :05:32. | ||
there for Theo Walcott starting. I am happy with the finish, but | :05:32. | :05:40.
quite disappointed to let two goals in at the start of a second half. | :05:40. | :05:45.
But we came back well, and we stuck together. It looked like England | :05:45. | :05:49.
wanted to win, and of course you always want to win, but there was | :05:49. | :05:54.
no question of settling for the draw. Yes, we know it is going to | :05:54. | :05:57.
be better for us if we get three points every single game, and that | :05:57. | :06:02.
is what we aim to do. When we went behind, we still had the belief, | :06:02. | :06:06.
and we stuck together. Great substitution, Theo Walcott was, | :06:06. | :06:12.
wasn't he? He set the goal up for you and also scored. Yes, we all | :06:12. | :06:18.
know the ability that Theo Walcott has got. Whoever comes onto the | :06:18. | :06:21.
pitch, they are going to make a difference. I am really happy for | :06:21. | :06:25.
him. The difference is that you need a point now to guarantee you | :06:25. | :06:29.
get through to the quarter-finals. And of course, you can still top | :06:29. | :06:38.
the group. Yes, so we will get back to Poland, sit down, get our | :06:38. | :06:41.
recovery done, and then our attention will turn to the next | :06:41. | :06:50.
match. We will try and get the three points. Congratulations. We | :06:50. | :06:57.
will have highlights of both the final matches in Group D on Tuesday | :06:57. | :07:04.
night. Before that, England's women are in action against the Dutch in | :07:04. | :07:07.
a qualifier for next summer's a qualifier for next summer's | :07:07. | :07:15.
European Championships. So, England have got themselves in a good | :07:15. | :07:19.
position, Alan - just to draw required against Ukraine, and they | :07:19. | :07:24.
did not look too impressive against France. Well, you never know with | :07:24. | :07:28.
England. We have drawn our first game, and we said we should be good | :07:28. | :07:33.
enough to beat Sweden, and we were, just, but there is a lot to work on. | :07:33. | :07:38.
I think the work starts now, I think you go against Ukraine and | :07:38. | :07:43.
you win the group. That's important for England now. Go and beat them | :07:43. | :07:47.
and finish top of the group. France are slight favourites, with a | :07:47. | :07:53.
better goal difference, and Sweden are now out of the tournament. | :07:53. | :07:58.
as I said, try and win the group. And obviously, you're trying to | :07:59. | :08:05.
avoid Spain if you can in the next round. Enjoy that night, but in | :08:05. | :08:09.
possession, as we have said, they will have to be a lot better in the | :08:10. | :08:14.
quarter-finals. They will have to be better defensively as well. | :08:14. | :08:19.
it inconceivable that England can win this? I cannot see England | :08:19. | :08:23.
winning this, we have all said this. Judging by the first team games we | :08:23. | :08:28.
have seen, I would stick to that. When you see the top teams, they | :08:28. | :08:35.
are still quite a way off them in my book. A long, long, long way off. | :08:35. | :08:40.
Well, that's encouraging! Our coverage tonight is coming to a | :08:40. | :08:46.
close, but we will have more action on the red button very shortly. In | :08:46. | :08:50.
the meantime, it is goodbye from all of us here. We have finally | :08:50. | :08:55.
beaten Sweden - it was all a bit predictable, but there you go! Good | :08:55. | :09:05.
:09:05. | :09:29. | ||
