Standing in their way a Belgian side featuring world-class stars like

Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne. The red Dragons against the Red Devils.

Just seven teams remaining in the draw after Portugal beat Poland last

night. They will face the winners of this game in the final four, raising

the prospect of a showdown between Christiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

that. I do not think it is an issue, they earned the right to celebrate

and to be here. If I was a Welsh band I would not care if that came

out, they have been brilliant in this tournament so far. England are

not in the quarterfinals, Wales are. A massive night for them. You need

things to go for you in a tournament, the players to keep fit,

decisions to go your way, a bit of luck. And just get a sense that

things are going well for Wales, some injuries to the Belgian side,

Chris Coleman, Gareth Bale, dragging his players through and they have

been brilliant. They have, not to tempt fate! They all have also

played Elton in qualifying a couple of times. -- played Belgium. But it

will be a tough task. It could be a backs to the wall job. But those

qualifying games will be in their minds. The Belgian players, they

have expectation, the Golden generation, Eden Hazard, the

expectation is on them to produce. And also they have a problem, at the

back, Brendan Dolan not there. It is the young back for and can they deal

with that pressure, a lot of questions to be answered for this

Belgian team. You mentioned a few people missing and we can have a

look at the teams as they line up. Starting with Wales. No defence

changes, Hennessy in goal again, hoping for a third consecutive clean

sheets at this tournament. Captain Ashley Williams hurt his shoulder

against Northern Ireland but not a serious injury and he was passed as

fit yesterday. Punter and Taylor the wingbacks with Jo Ledley and Allen,

central midfielders. Partly overshadowed by Gareth Bale, Ramsey

leads in terms of passes, chances created and tackle. The only change

upfront, Robson-Kanu replacing Sam Vokes. For Belgian, three changes to

their team but not in the goal. Courtois has not conceded in his

last three games. Vertonghen is injured and Vermaelen suspended,

there is a defensive reshuffle. Jordan Lukaku starts at left-back

and Denayer comes in at centre-back. The central midfielders, they have

already scored in the tournament. A change on the right wing, Carrasco

starts after scoring as substitute against Hungary. Romelu Lukaku

leading the line, both of his goals coming in the win against the

Republic of Ireland. After losing their opening match Titley, Belgian

enjoyed victory for Republic of Ireland and Sweden, followed by a

demolition of Hungary in round two. Man of the Match was Eden Hazard,

after a poor season with Chelsea is once again displaying the ability

that marked him out at an early age. Eden Hazard.

A family garden backs onto the football club in a small town 45

minutes from Brussels. The boy next door would soon make a name for

himself. The five-year-old Garraway was soon

deep inside yes, he needs to get that out on a more consistent basis.

Looking at Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, you can see that steely

determination and desire for every game. They're not going to leave any

minute wasted and perhaps that is something that needs to change in

his approach to the game. But ability wise he's up there with the

best players. Hard to change your mentality in ways. Allen, how do

they stop him? He was given the freedom of the park against Hungary

in their last game and I'm pretty sure that Wales will not give him

this amount of space. One-on-one, not doubling up, he can do it, we

know he can. He can go down the outside. You cannot afford to give

him this. From throwing, they back off, they back off, you do not get

men in and around him and within a shadow of a doubt, he will punish

you. Again left in one-on-one, not doubling up, giving him the freedom

of the park. And when this happens you are in trouble with him. He will

go down the outside and he can do that or come inside. They played him

perfectly in the qualifying games. This is what they did with Italy,

nullifying his threat. He -- they got tight on him forcing him inside.

Into the bodies. So he gets the ball, gets it back, look at the

number of bodies around him, forcing him in to where the traffic is. And

they played him superbly. Look at the way Robson-Kanu is fighting back

with De Bruyne. No space whatsoever. It was brilliant way they handled

it, he did not score, not really a threat. And three guys, wingback at

centre-half, midfielder and eventually they take the ball and

they will have to do that and do it very well tonight. There is an

argument, he has been given the captain 's armband in the absence of

Vincent Kompany. Maybe made him think and take more responsibility.

He is the strength and the weakness in the team. If he does not get back

and Gareth Bale drifts into the space of his side, we can cause

damage. But he has been doing it better act and against Hungary he

did it really well. Maybe the captaincy gives him more

responsibility. I hope tonight he does not do what he's doing now,

work as hard as he did, because there will be gaps behind him where

Gareth Bale and Ramsey and Robson-Kanu can drift into. With

players like this, a big part of it is, there is your defence, going

back in his own half. These type of players with that talent, you have

got to get them early and not let them get their head up to assess,

get a picture of the game. That is important. They have other talent in

the team, De Bruyne. Absolutely. You have De Bruyne and Lukaku. And going

back to the qualifying games, both home and away they nullified all the

threats. A bonus for Wales, a couple of central defensive linchpins are

out. They do not necessarily like defending, that is their weakness.

They have got four defenders injured, and you back for the have

not played together. We just have got to defend well, we have a plan

and a system which is our strength. We will not change much, shut him

down full stop we shall see. It is about as close to home game as you

could get to Belgian, the stadium just eight miles from the Belgian

it in while. Northern Ireland, a different kind of pressure, tonight

thousands of Belgians here, the Welsh bands have been drowned out

with noise. But together these players, they can make history. I'm

Wales are the underdogs. But Chris Coleman and his team have shown that

team spirit, and unity and a winning mentality can take you a long way.

In terms of what has been done on the field, it is also with the fans?

cheer, maybe not so much beer, though. But we connect with the fans

video? There are two ways of looking at it, one, you are annoyed you are

out there, two it shows the enjoyment in the squad, and you are

enjoying each other's company? Obviously, we would rather that did

not come out. But it shows how close we are together. We have not just

cheered one game. We have cheered many games. We have done nothing

wrong. We are just having a laugh, watching a game. It is how we do it.

We will play good football and continue to do that.

# Love. Let's talk about Belgium. You have played them twice, won one,

drew one. Does it give you confidence? It gives us confidence

knowing we have beaten them before. Everyone knows that they attack but

they have weaknesses. We will exploit them and turn them into

goals, hopefully. Chris Coleman is missing a wedding,

you have a Beyonce concert coming up, why on earth? I booked all of my

stuff for after the finals! You never know.

I don't know what Taylor is doing buying a Beyonce ticket! We are

giving everything to this. Great stuff. Gareth Bale is

maturing. He is like a statesman figure for Wales.

So relaxed, enjoying the moment of being the star man, having the

responsibility. What I love about him, the big stage comes, he does

not freeze. He grows as a player, he accepts the responsibility. Give me

the ball, I will go with it. What is great about the team, the mentality,

cling on to a clean sheet, he will get you over the line. Talk about

the pressure on someone's shoulders, the country, Wales, they are relying

on him. He has dragged them through the tournament. He is enjoying it.

It is great to see. He is the key in the formula that

Chris has. Obviously, we talk about him a lot but that is him closing

down there. This is what we have to do, this is what he is good at

tonight, breaking at the teams, he uses pace, power but the whole team

is breaking, it is not just about him. Neil Taylor is running the

length of the pitch and we score a goal from it, that is a

counterattack. Aaron Ramsey gives. Silky passing and slides them in.

Gareth runs the length of the pitch to score the finish. This is the

match-changing moment when it is 0-0. He can do this what other

players can't. A fantastic cross. I'm pleased to see the way that this

defence is working but Gareth Bale reads it, calm, wins another game.

If you are keeping quiet in general play you can do this. I have stood

with him on the training ground doing this. Believe me he stands for

hours practicing it, so don't be surprised if he scores again

tonight. You can get up tight against him but

he is so powerful. Strong, pace, power. He has the ability to pass

and thread balls through you. So threats all over the place. We

didn't have headers in the VT. We know what a very, very good header

of the ball he is. He has nine this season.

Well, a miserable evening in Lille, very Welsh, I would say! I'm sure

they know what that feels like! Hopefully the pitch will not be too

wet. Interesting with Belgium, I have noticed that this is the

youngest starting line-up in a European championship since 1968.

Inexperience? Yes but they are under pressure. I'm sure their media have

been saying for a while it is about team that the team delivered with a

number of players in that squad, it didn't happen two years ago for

them. So they are under pressure from themselves, from their own

supporters and from their media. They need this team to deliver. It

might be too late for them come the next tournament.

That man on the screen before, Ashley Williams, it is important for

him today. Organising the back three to make sure that they get through,

no gaps. These guys will go home heroes but no doubt they want to get

through the game. It's good. Right, OK, can they do

it? Yes, they can do it. I'm going for Wales after extra time.

Rio? I'm going for Wales on penalties.

On penalties, blimey. Take that one. Dean? Course we can. Tactically we

are spot on. We have done it to them before, we can beat them again. On

the break we can score a couple of goals.

look to get into space. What annoys! -- a noise.

Chris Hunter. Positive ball into the feet of Robson-Kanu. Deemed not to

have fouled Robson-Kanu. Good play from Jo Ledley. That is why he is in

the team, to do the dirty work, mob up. Carrasco going free, a good

It is going to be a game of cat and mouse for the Welsh wingbacks

tonight. Eden Hazard stays on the left-hand side, there will have to

come back and come out. If Taylor goes forward, Carrasco will stay up,

Many of the line. Brilliantly defended. Throwing dead bodies on

the line. A great first touch from Carrasco. Good save and then it was

Taylor and then Jo Allen or Chester. A great start from Belgium. Blocking

everything. And they will have to do that. De Bruyne, his corner, it is

close. Lukaku should score, he has got to show more desire. He has got

to want that ball, he is a centre forward, he has got to go with more

purpose at the back post. He has got the score about. I do not think he

thinks the ball is going to come to him. He has got to show more desire.

Belgium have picked up where they left off against Hungary. Allen, of

Richie Ramsay. Free kick at Wales. Gareth Bale, his first touch of the

game at almost eight minutes played. Taylor, Robson-Kanu! That is a

chance. A good start to the game. Belgium should be one go up. A

decent ball to the back post. Robson-Kanu, tearing down but just

not enough direction. A good start to the game. Leaving both managers

frustrated that their side have not scored. A little inviting ball.

Meunier again, a very advanced position. I think Gareth Bale is

being clever. He has seen the full-back Meunier getting on at a

couple of times, he moves to be able to counterattack Buckley. Carrasco,

quickly into his stride. He takes the shot and he scores

magnificently! He had a beauty against Sweden but that is even

better. Afforded too much space. A perfect way to pass to him. No one

closed him down. Hennessy has got fingertips to it. Great technique.

Smashes it. Hennessy, fingertips, he just cannot get enough on it. A

great start from Belgium and you've got to say in the opening minutes of

the game, they deserve that. A great strike. A fantastic strike. Sitting

in a pocket of space. It was rolled across his body, one

thing on his mind. Hit it as hard and as firmly as he could. Hit it as

hard as he could. Now where, Ledley, Ramsey?

Bale, that's a delight ball in. Super delivery here.

It's great pace on the cross from Gareth Bale. It just needs a touch

of Robson-Kanu. Ramsey was slow to get on. It has

gone between two Wales players. Hennessy see it is late. He dives

and gets finger tips to it. But too much pace on it.

Now Meunier. They need to be rock solid in the

next few minute, Wales. Chris Gunter into Bale.

Great strength. Was he tripped? He was, by James

Chester. It will be a yellow card for James Chester as well.

dive in. A good centre forward played by Lukaku.

He's not always good, Lukaku but when he's good, he's normally very

Gunter back to his own goal. In this game he is more like a right

back. Lots to think about for Chris

Coleman. Well, we've been behind in this

tournament now, for a matter of the seconds.

That's a lovely touch. Denayer, against Robson-Kanu. Twice

he felt he had been fouled by Denayer and the decision has gone

the other way. Strictly speaking there was no

decision that time, it was just to play on.

toe-in. I'm surprised Gareth Bale passed the

ball inside there. He has the pace, he has the full-back, Lukaku, just

push it and go. Get as far up the field as you can, then cross it on

the right foot. Going back to the goals, Joe Allen

will be annoyed. He has had a magnificent tournament. I don't

think he will like that. He will be disappointed.

It's a long way to go. That pass was right between Taylor

and Ramsey. A good response from Wales. Keeping

the ball. No panic. As you say, there is plenty of time

within the game. Nice possession. Believe in what they do, knowing

what they do. Robson-Kanu, he is coming down this

right-hand side out of the box. When the ball goes back for the cross,

there is only Taylor on the back post. Robson-Kanu has to get in.

Just the weight of the pass across Nainggolan. Some may criticise the

I have to say I thought it was a foul in the first place. He thought

it was. As you can see he grabs the ball but then he throws the ball

away. But I thought it was a foul on Hazard in the first place.

under pressure from Robson-Kanu. I have got to say, when Belgium

scored, they deserved it, when Wales equalised, they deserved it. A joy

to watch. Two very good sides. Eden Hazard, Williams, only a second goal

for his country but what a goal, what a stage on which to score it.

Eden Hazard. Carrasco. Wales now have solid ground under their feet

again. Carrasco, not too far away from Lukaku. Important touch from

Hennessy. What a touch for Hennessy. If he did not touch it, Lukaku would

have headed it into an empty net. Ramsey is going to go in, Gareth

thought he was going to should, was in a great position. In behind

Nainggolan. 40 yards out, the balls move in a split second. Good

possession from the men in red. Aaron Ramsey. Just look how far up

the pitch both wingbacks are. Taylor on the left-hand side. Meunier gets

sucked in next to his centre-half. Belgium have dropped deep when it

comes to possession. When Wales were on the ropes, you thought get that

second goal. But they hung back. Welsh throw. Ashley Williams has

headed the pendulum of this game back in favour of Wales.

Taylor, just unable to reach it. In the first 15 or 20 minutes we saw

some of the best of Belgium. But Wales look them in the eye, took it

on the chin and have faced up and matched them. What Wales have done,

they believed in what they have done, they did not panic or change

formation, they just thought you know what, as a group we believe in

what we do, believe what the manager tells us and we will keep doing what

has got us to where we are. That is why they got the equaliser. Wales

enjoying the bulk of possession. That is a good ball, Jo Ledley found

by Jo Allen. Taylor. Gareth Bale arriving in the middle, Robson-Kanu

already there. That is the position where you want to get the ball, in

behind Nainggolan, in behind Witsel. Natalie gets on the half-time,

another corner to Wales. -- Nainggolan. Chester at the back

post, unable to really get over Lukaku. They all court drawn to the

near post. Williams free once again. Look at this again, no one picking

him up. I want to see a bit more from deploying and Hazard. Going

forward from Belgium. De Bruyne onto it. Now it swings the other way.

Already something slightly epic about this contest. Five minutes

until half-time. De Bruyne. Good header by Davies. Nainggolan

dangerously Bacchin. -- back in. A decent ball back in from

Nainggolan. But a tame header. Into the last five minutes of normal

time in this engrossing first half. Robson-Kanu. Quick shout for

handball. It was Denayer, his shoulder.

Belgium happy for Wales to have the ball, no pressure. Wales, just like

negative both defenders who were booked. Getting tired now, got to

keep the concentration. Gareth Bale for Wales. Deflected. It is a Welsh

corner. Great possession once again, the first touch from Ramsey. Onto

his favoured right foot. A good strike but Denayer got out there.

Will someone pick him up this time? Ramsey, his corner. Williams! This

is where you miss Vertonghen and Vincent Kompany. No one is marking

him. Denayer gets drawn to the near post, the captain left unmarked.

Another opportunity. Nicholas Lombards would've been part of this

squad, also injured. And now they are without Vertonghen and

Vermaelen. Threadbare at the back. Dangerous upfront. De Bruyne has yet

to score in this tournament. And yet to score in six games now for his

country. Here is that go again. Everyone drawn towards the near

post. He heads down, the armband on, leads by example. The fans are going

berserk. Deserved equaliser. What the first half for the neutral. The

only criticism from the Welsh point of view, Chris Coleman will be

disappointed that no one block the shot for the goal from Belgium. That

deflection was rather kind of form a point of view of Lukaku.

Concentration now. Lukaku Eden Hazard.

Well worked. Neil Taylor got sucked into the

ball. He had to engage Carrasco. Chester had to go out. Could not get

there quick enough. It has to be a better cross. Meunier has to put it

in air, where Lukaku can attack. There are worried faces in the Welsh

end after 20 minutes. Now joyous ones. Here is Ramsey.

Once again, you know, there are five Belgium players back there, the

half-time whistle goes. Nainggolan, with a rocket.

Then Ashley Williams with a header. Courtois, called into action. He

made a very good save from Neil Taylor. Belgium started brightly.

Wales responded. Half-time in Lille in the quarter-final. Wales, one,

Belgium, one. I think it is fair to say, that is

one of the best 45 minutes' worth of football we have seen in the

tournament. Wales have been terrific.

Well, we have never kept them together like that after the first

15 minutes, they deserve to be in front. They came back and showed

great determination and moved the ball better than we have ever done.

Technically, tactically, they are getting it right. After the goal,

they responded so well. They called have wilted but they didn't. Showing

character in coming back. Creating chances, possession. Stretching the

defence and the goal that they scored was straight from the

training ground. Amazing what happens when you train at set

pieces. Mmm, a dig at someone? Perhaps it is

a little more open than we thought it would be, Rio? Well, they have

taketown to them, the spirit. It looks like they believe and

understand what the manager wants from them. They are coming on,

playing from the front foot. The two full-backs have been so high, one

from the right-hand side, Ramsey crossing, and the left-back. They

are playing on the front foot and a real verve about the way that they

are playing. Fantastic to see. Hairy for the first 15 minute,

Belgium very much on top. But almost a halve of two halves. The early

chances were like pin ball in the box? They struggled, giving space to

the players, we didn't want them to do that. The first 15 minute, they

were all over the place. A brilliant save. Great defending on the line.

Great covering. Great character from the Welsh players. But problems

caused by themselves, giving them too much space.

That is what you want to see, five, six defenders throwing their weight

in front of the ball. Like it counts. Now a special goal

for Belgium. Brilliant strike. From Nainggolan but... Joe Allen tried to

hit it diagonal and he has giving the ball away. You can't do that

against players like this. We work it around the arc. Diagonal. Hazard

is out there. Chris Gunter does not get help. Then a fatal mistake for

me, as they are keeping the ball, now, Aaron Ramsey tracks a player

into the box, when there is no need. Communication from James Chester,

then Aaron Ramsey on the back foot, what a strike, though. Tremendous.

That was a top-drawer strike. The keeper does not have a chance. The

pace is taking it above him. That was the difference. The attitude to

get to players, to close them down after giving the ball away. It is

too easy for Belgium. The communication is key. If you are

tracking someone and no-one to mark in the box, if you are a defender,

you can see it all, speak to the mid-fielder.

Put the pressure on the ball. We thought Wales was in trouble but

they played well from then. The composure, they just really

relaxed, settled themselves down and the maturity they showed was of a

team of having been before. Creating chances. That is the left-back in

the opponent's box getting a chance! A great save from Courtois. It It

just did not affect them being a goal behind. If anything it spurred

them to do better than this. Roll up their sleeves. After they conceded,

they were superb. They deserved the goal. Williams,

the goalscorer, a magical moment. It is a training ground movement, the

movement, the idea of that is to cover all angles. The four cause

havoc and Ashley hardly moves but a gap opens up, and De Bruyne, if he

does his job properly and stays on the post, he could clear it but why,

I don't know. You see that in game as lot.

Everyone is on to Mark. You can't get on top of him. Ashley is

defending well. Three thing, the balling, the movement, the header.

It must be a great satisfaction as a coach, when something like that, you

have worked on in training, it comes off.

We have preyed on them having injuries but they have not had time

to practice set plays, we could have scored a couple more.

And the next fell to Ashley William, the same move.

Similar. Get it into their area. In the penalty spot. And there, Bray as

a lion, wants to stick his head on there and yes, they have created the

chances and opened up the back four. Lovely run, lovely ball in, they

have been unlucky. The hunger game, we have seen it.

There was a 15, 20 minute spell that they were getting through the

Belgium team. So as much as we have praised them as being a good team of

individuals, there are chances and opportunities. Now without the

defenders, why are they starting to exploit that.

We have played really, really well. That is the best we have played

since we got here. We managed to avoid the E word but

this is the first game since England's capitulation playing

Iceland. Frank Lampard.

This is surely as bad as it has ever been for England. Throw in, flick

on, goal. Who would have thought it would come to this for England.

The magnifying glass will be more. It is a team we were expected to

beat. Iceland have turned it around to

lead. A bad performance, without a doubt.

When you get to knock-out football at the top level, a bad performance

can send you home. Technically, man for man, our squad would have held

up a lot of the good teams in the tournament. So there must be

something lacking. Whether it is the mindset, fearfulness, I sensed an

edginess to the players when they were starting to think that we could

be getting knocked out by Iceland. It made it difficult for the players

to perform. The frustration rises. This is

painful, really painful. You could look at the youthfulness

of the team, look to the future and then try to take a positive. I don't

think that they have a lack of desire or too much wealth too early,

they were there trying to do their best in the tournament but they did

not do well enough. I was kicking it around the head. We have good

individuals. They have played in the league. You wonder if the other

nations have that experience, with the experience.

The experience with the home leagues, to build a strong bond. We

don't have that. I'm sorry it had to end this way

with another exit from the tournament. Now is the time for

someone else to oversee the progress of this young, hungry and

ex-extremely talented group. Look at the top millioningers, Jose

Mourinho, there is something about the team it lacks spirit. We are not

seeing it England. Over the last 10, 15 years, when I

was playing we were not setting the tone. I would look for a younger,

forward-thinking manager, who has a strong idea about how he wants to

play good football and generate the spirit in the team. I can't give you

a name, that is the problem. It is not jumping out. People criticise

the FA for being stuck in their ways but they have to look at themselves.

Open out, look at the manager, do something different. The tried and

trusted is not working. Four day, I still sense you have to

get something off your chest, Allan. I have heard a lot of cultures,

blaming our academies, too much, too young, I agree with that. There can

be improvements in the academies but it is far too simple to say that.

The reason why, have a look at this graphic... England squad, academy

players, they have all come through those clubs there. Have a look at

them. They are not all Premier League clubs, some are from the

lower league clubs. Now, these are the same guys coming through the

same academies. That is England, this is Wales. Wales are in the

quarter-final, showing great spirit, commitment, playing with a plan,

preparation. All players know what they are doing. You cannot blame it

on the academies, saying it is a lack of leadership. We had leaders,

Gerrard, Beckham, Gary Neville, John Terry. We didn't have academies in

the '70s or the '80s, and we were not successful then, either.

That is not correct to say that. What we are missing is a plan. We

are missing a team with direction. Playing players in the right

positions. Not shoe horning players into position. We did that can

Scholes and Lampard. That is why we have gone out. If there was a

tournament and we could have not picked injured players, and not

picked any on form, it was this tournament. This was the tournament

to say if you are in form, you are playing. Playing in the system that

everyone knows. For ten games in qualifying we played a system, we

did not play it once in this tournament. That tells you where we

went wrong. Rio, there was no plan B, the

players didn't know what they were doing. They looked nervous.

I don't think that there were anything that the players

understood. You need a vision and a goal and the players to understand

it. Bur the organisation and the mentalility, you have to create a

culture that they all believe and understand. Once you have that, and

the tactic, and the plan, plan A, and something to fall back on, then

the players believe and start following on, believing that there

is something to follow on to, that there is a vision. Without that, it

goes wrong. When things don't go well, like in the games in the

tournament with England, when it goes wrong, they panic. It has

happened in this era, and mine. So something has to change. Look what

happens when you build a team around a superstar. Gareth Bale, he has

character, the Welsh team have built a team around him. Whatever the

players, they know their systems, their roles.

Look at the character in that team? You have brought to back perfectly.

Now, let's go pitchside. John Hartson is with Jason Hammond.

Wales are leaving the mark on the European #k4i7 and finishing this

half the better side. Absolutely.

I think that Wales were the team in the ascendency, the way that they

weathered the storm in the first 15 minutes and how they recovered from

going a goal down early from an unbelievable strike by Nainggolan,

by the way, Wales have pushed on. Belgium are looking rattled.

I have been watching Marc Wilmots, they don't seem to be communicating,

Belgium? Eden Hazard is a shadow of the player he used to be. He has

been anonymous in the first half. So the concern is can we carry on to

play as well as we did. Belgium in the last half an hour were poor in

their standards. I feel Wales can get better in the second half.

I have covered many games in here, and I have to say that the

atmosphere in Lille is amazing. More live football tomorrow and it

is a corker. # Into the jungle.

Germany versus Italy live on BBC One on the BBC sports website from 730

PM. Highlights of France against Iceland on Sunday at 1045 PM and

Wimbledon continues tomorrow at 11 o'clock on BBC Two. For Wales, the

key is more of the same and sometimes difficult when you have a

break. They did not want half-time, Chris will be saying, more of the

same. For half an hour of that first half they were brilliant. Have the

belief that you can go on and win the game. You have created chances

and they will get chances again, makes the most of those set pieces.

It could be vital. Well we all recognise Marouane Fellaini coming

on for Belgium, signalling perhaps a bit of panic in their ranks. Putting

in the centre midfielder. We just have to keep doing what you're

doing, be aware of their key players. The longer this game goes

on, we have better athletes. Chris Coleman has done a great job. He

has, he keeps the players composed and they understand what they're

doing. We join Robbie Savage and Steve Wilson.

The change, Carrasco comes off and Delaney comes on. Probably to get

him defending Welsh corner kicks and set pieces better than they did in

the first half. It comes at a cost. De Bruyne is out on the right-hand

side and he has been more effective in this tournament playing in the

middle behind Lukaku than on the right-hand side. Name: push forward,

in behind Lukaku. -- Nainggolan. Here is Nainggolan. Meunier has

continued his run. Jo Allen tidies up for Wales. Wales were good in the

first half. I was pitch side before the game and walked past the dugout

and Bert Longin, Vermaelen and Vincent Kompany were there. They

only have 70 caps between them. Right at the top if you take out

Vermaelen and for Tonga, you take out 139 caps.

Here is Jordan Lukaku. Denayer. Not to say that they are not good

players, Lukaku and Denayer, they just do not have the miles on the

clock like those there are replacing. Conceding a free kick. A

bit too aggressive in the challenge, Jo Allen, a foul. Here goes Eden

Hazard. Now Delaney. -- Marouane Fellaini. Lukaku! A big chance. Big

left off. What a ball from Meunier. Just look at Lukaku, drifting in,

peeling off the back of Ashley Williams. He has got to get more

power on the header. Trying to glance it towards the back post.

Fantastic delivery. He should score. Those goals against Republic of

Ireland of course from Lukaku, his 50th cap this evening, not bad for a

23-year-old. Impressive, Meunier, at right back.

real danger. De Bruyne again. A good start to the second half from

Belgium. The ball on the right hand side, coming on the left foot. The

linkup play between Lukaku and Nainggolan very good. A much better

start from Belgium in the second half.

De Bruyne. Now Eden Hazard. Wales looking stretched. Eden Hazard. We

saw what he's capable against Hungary and he almost reproduced.

Drifts over to the left-hand side. Not enough on it. Ashley Williams

was good position. He gets a head on that. Big moments for Wales again in

this game, they responded before and they must do so again. It feels like

half-time has taken the wind from their sales. Gareth Bale, too strong

for Robson-Kanu. A good challenge by Chester. On a booking, Chester.

He has had Eden Hazard run at a couple of times already. Probably

just worth recapping the yellow card tallies. Davies received one earlier

and will not play in the semifinal if Wales go through. And your

Chester also booked in the first half and Jo Allen. Sliding in with a

challenge. Ramsey and Taylor have a yellow card previously in the

tournament so they are in peril to some degree. You cannot let that

bother you. Eden Hazard. To Meunier. Lukaku, a vital touch from Ashley

Williams. Almost the spot from which he scored. It was vital and once

again Lukaku drifting onto the back of Ashley Williams, great position.

Not much pace on it but Williams in the centre of defence a great

defensive header from the captain. Great position from Lukaku.

There is a freshness again about Belgium at the moment.

The little reverse backheel did not come off, Jo Ledley in the way. I

thought that Ramsey slipped on first impression. I thought it was a

challenge from Nainggolan. For me that is not a foul, he goes down too

easily. Eden Hazard, more time on the ball already in the second half.

Looking to cause problems for the Wales back three, the three centre

halves. Medley. -- Leslie. A little flick of De Bruyne but no

one else thought so. The Slovenian referee just saying to

Jo Ledley, just button it. Gareth Bale. A good run from Aaron

Ramsey. In towards Robson-Kanu. Taylor available. What a bowl! --

bowl. What a goal from Robson-Kanu! What a moment for Wales. Wales are

35 minutes from the semifinal! This is unbelievable. Marouane Fellaini

see you later, Denayer, he had the composure to open his body up, stick

it priced Courtois. -- passed Courtois. Just one Belgium felt they

were wrestling the initiative out of Wales grip. Robson-Kanu with what

may very well be the goal of his life.

The composure that he has shown. Send three Belgian players the wrong

way. And then the composure to open up his body, Courtois goes the right

way, what a finish. What a goal. Up there with the goals of the

tournament. Look at those dancing Welshman. And Welsh women. Keep

calm, Chris. Lord only knows what he is thinking.

Nainggolan, as well... Challenge from Nainggolan that sent Gareth

Bale down... Might have been the challenge from Nainggolan, but

competition, has been nothing short of sensational, for the team, he

works the ball, he makes good runs. If you see him closing people down,

if you are a lesser player than Ramsay, you want to do it yourself.

But Belgium have magicians in their ranks. Meunier... Fellaini. Hazard,

magician in chief. What Wales cannot afford to do, like

they did against England, is dropped deeper and deeper and deeper, if you

keep putting the ball in the box, one will drop, two fell to England

late on, you have got to be brave and try to get out, Ashley Williams,

the captain, has got to push up now and again, the deeper you drop, the

more nervous you get. Robson-Kanu. He has been giving Denayer problems

from minute one. How they could do with that man there, Vincent

Kompany, or that man there, Jan Vertonghen. From set pieces they

looked all over the place. Thibaut Courtois does not look comfortable.

The referee is not going to allow play to continue... He has given it

Welsh are holding their breath. Charges out of the back three... He

has caught him on the foot, what a position for Kevin De Bruyne. 25

yards out, we have seen how this almost, if he can hit the target, it

can cause the goalkeeper problems, we have seen Gareth Bale do it often

for Wales, can Kevin De Bruyne do it for Belgium? His longest goalless

streak for his country in two years. Hennessey will take those all-day!

Good goalkeeping, watch the goalkeeper, does not take a step

anywhere, stay still, watches the bounce of the ball. He has gone over

the wall, but good positioning from Wayne Hennessey.

Marouane Fellaini's irritated reaction only increases the joy of

those Welsh fans in that corner of the stadium. You would be quite

happy, from a Wales point of view, if you can get Gareth Bale to run at

Fellaini, on a yellow card, he does not have the pace of the Welshman.

If, as the Fifa rankings suggest, Belgium are the second-best team in

the world, then at the moment, Wales are the best! Because they are

better than Belgium right now. Aching for a third. Fellaini got a

head on it, and Denayer away, Alan, deflected... Williams! -- Allen.

Fellaini has been assigned to Ashley Williams there are, does well,

header, to keep the ball alive, once the ball more than Nainggolan, and

Ashley Williams could not get his foot over the ball to keep it down.

-- wants the ball. You want to see De Bruyne, Hazard, Lukaku, from a

Belgian point of view. You want to see them on the ball, they want the

ball in dangerous areas. Here goes Lukaku.

truly astonishing victory, a comfortable victory, in the end, as

little emotional myself. I never played in one of these myself, fill

these boys, Chris Coleman, they should be proud of themselves, they

have made everybody so proud. Boy will they enjoy their evening, what

a night for the whole of Wales. Absolutely extraordinary. It is

staggering, the performance was just unbelievable, from every single

player, they have got to be very proud of themselves. They have done

their country proud tonight. Everybody wanted a performance, they

have delivered. On the highest stage, when it mattered the most,

against a very good team in Belgium, they were absolutely outstanding.

Gareth Bale, the superstar of the Welsh team, played his part, did not

score this evening, he did, Sam Vokes, came on as substitute,

everything Chris Coleman did work out! It was fantastic, the way that

they played, they had an absolute belief and identity, of what they

were going to play, when you watch some of the clips we will show you

later, the shape they had, and understanding between each other...

Everyone willing to put their bodies on the line, we saw how they threw

themselves in front of the ball as it was coming in on goal, they have

allowed a nation now to begin believing, that is it, the

positive... Look at this, these scenes. Truly wonderful, big slide,

brilliant stuff. Their fans have to take some credit, we can feel the

atmosphere even where we are, they are having a great time out there,

these guys, they have appreciated it no end. The goals we scored, the

performance, everything, spot on, and the manager got every single

thing right, we can hear from risk Coleman right now. Christopher

Coleman, what a night, what a victory. Can you put that into

words? It might be impossible! No, I cannot, to be honest, we knew that

it was going to be a tough game, but, I said before, before we kicked

a ball, I said, we are not here just to enjoy it, we are here to

complete. We have a very good team of players. And they keep going past

what they have already achieved and that is always a good sign. --

compete. I thought there was more to come from them, but to go 1-0 down,

it is amazing... Our Welsh fans, unbelievable. We were in a game

where we created more chances. We competed, that is all we ever asked

of the players and that is what they kept doing. How do you keep doing

it, 1-0 down, against the second best side in the world, easy to

panic, to lose your way, to lose the game. You have players like Aaron

Ramsey and Gareth Bale and Joe Allen, players of that ilk, we pass

the ball, we have to play football. That is what gets the best out of

the team, get the best out of your best players and all of the players

in the team can pass the ball, that is what we try to do, whether we

play Belgium or whoever. In the England game, we never pass the

ball, all the other games we have tried to pass it, try to stick to

our strengths and identity, we were determined to do it tonight even if

that meant we never got the result, we wanted to show people that we can

be an offensive passing team and we showed that. What about the header

from Ashley Williams, the term from Hal Robson-Kanu, and the one that

sealed it, Sam Vokes, three great goals. Brilliant, I am really happy

for Sam Vokes, actually. It is not always start, will lay shows, always

turns up, he has worked incredibly well, and Andy King coming onto

night, did a great job. Does such good work in the dressing room. And

Ashley Williams, he could have had a hat-trick tonight! What a leader,

absolutely brilliant. Hal Robson-Kanu, what a great

performance. Put this into context, thousands watching here, millions

watching back home, a generation of young boys and girls staying up far

too late to watch Wales make the semifinals! What is your message?

Dream. Do not be afraid to have dreams. Four years ago I was as far

away from this as you can imagine, and look what has happened, if you

work hard enough and you are not afraid to dream and not afraid to

fail. Everybody fails, I have had more failures than success but I'm

not afraid to fail, and every now and again, well, I can say every now

and again, this has never happened to me! That I'm enjoying it, and we

manager. The run that Aaron Ramsey made, if it wasn't him, it was

Gareth Bale, if not him, it was Hal Robson-Kanu, they could run almost

blind into the channels, to run into, the team come up behind them

Can you put into words what it means to be in the last four in the major

tournament for the first time in such a long time? Credit to everyone

side like Belgian, so much quality, many people thought, there would be

panic and you would lose the game, how have you come back from that to

win 3-1? We have played them a few times in the last few years, we know

how to play against them, disappointing to go one - zero down,

but we kept to the game plan, and we got the goal back. We took it on

from there. Your manager has said it is important to dream, essential to

dream, look at that smile, can you dream about winning this? We have

got world-class players in the team, so defensively, we can be as solid

as a rock, and with those two combined, we stand a good chance. We

the execution. I was beginning to think he had run too far past the

near post. But to swivel and get the power, the accuracy, outstanding.

a great header. What a relief of pressure as well. Starting to sit

back and little holding onto the lead. Dean Saunders, you should see

his armpits at the moment! This is the reaction and Cardiff, as you can

You're not going to come through the middle of this team. Three

not going to go through the middle. If you do it has got to be a

pinpoint perfect ball and Belgium did not have that today. Going wide,

comfortable. But when you try to come inside, bodies are going to be

there. And it has got to be the best ball you could imagine. They did not

have that quality today. Eden Hazard Ultra quiet today. They snuffed him

out. With space he has the ability to hurt you as he did with Hungary,

but not on our shift. Great header. And moments in this game, they just

came up with that bit of good positioning but also fortunate. Then

regain composure. We can hear from Welsh captain Ashley Williams and

family. Let me introduce you to the full

women's family. And the man himself. Ashley Williams. You headed the ball

and scored and it was an important header and brilliant goal. I'm

pleased, obviously, more pleased we got through. It was nice and we

deserved a goal at that stage, it is hard to take the minute. Were you

concerned at 1- nil? Not really, we responded well, we have spoken

before about the character in this team and to be down against a

quality opponent, we showed unbelievable strength to come back.

And what about those goals from Robson-Kanu and Sam Vokes? Great bit

of skill and that is what big Sam is there for. Can you put this into

context, for you personally, for the teams, the nation. It is difficult.

We were pleased to get here and then to get out of the group and we just

keep going. I love the guys, the fans have been brilliant, I hope

everyone is having a good time back home. We do it for them, for

ourselves and the group. I will not know how means until we take bit

more. You're holding two children remarkably well, you might be

holding some silverware! Were not looking that far yet. There is a

I'm starting to think like that. Some strange things have happened in

football this year. It could be a Wales versus Iceland final! Sum it

it to happen. Chris almost resigned four years ago when we lost to

Serbia. Four years later, Neil Taylor, the whole nation just cannot

believe what is going on. It wouldn't so much for us over the
