Well, it's not quite all or nothing with 35 weeks to go, but the stakes

are always high in the Barclays Premier League and we've got

a cracking show for you this week. Here to enjoy it all with us are

Danny Murphy and Philip Neville. We start with two of the top five.

Chelsea were in town. Lord Attenborough was taped tribute

to. Samuel Eto'o on the Everton bench. Diego Costa has a hamstring

injury. Chelsea in yellow. Getting

underway. Kicking from left to right. This football ground has such

history and traditions. Such warmth and great spirit. Willian, his first

start since the match where Brazil were beaten by Holland in the

summer. Ramires, his first start of the season. Fabregas. Costa! Inside

40 seconds. What are start. It is all about movement all on and off

the ball. A lovely through ball by Fabregas. Great vision from

Fabregas. Through the legs of Tim Howard.

Chelsea looking for a third win at the start of the season for the

first time since 2010. Ramires looking for Diego Costa. The flag

has stayed down again. Two inside three minutes! Once again Everton

looked to the flag that did not come. They're in dreamland. Lovely

caution had back. -- caution header. That is offside, that trailing leg.

The flag stayed down. Too much space on the edge of the box. Stepping out

and play a track inside your own 18-yard box, is that ever a wise

move? People questioned the validity of Chelsea's start. This has been an

outstanding opening for Jose Mourinho and his team. Coming to the

edge of the penalty area. He is outside, Tim Howard. That should

have been a red card. Some comfort for Everton fans, they have scored

in all home league games. Everton's first corner. First corner

of the game. The Cuckoo, off the bar! The flag is up. -- Lakuku.

Powerful header like a bullet. That is the correct decision.

Jagielka is robbed. Diego Costa at this time is offside. He has had a

half he would prefer to forget. Caught in possession. That angle,

difficult to tell. Malice, and that is a very good goal

at the very good time for Everton. Add very well worked team goal. --

Morales. Kevin Mirallas has had a very good first half. Everton

expected to be a top six side again. Fabregas into Diego Costa.

Good save from Howard. Big left foot stuck out by the goalkeeper. Some

say he should not be on the field of play.

A little bit of pushing and shoving going on. Diego Costa involved.

Seamus Coleman was in there. Just needs to calm down. John Terry

acting as translator. It has carried on after the referee

had a word. So Diego Costa is cautioned.

Eden Hazard has squeezed it in. Chelsea have a third. It may have

gone in off Coleman. The sheepish look on the face of the Everton

defender would suggest that. And there will be a card for Tim Howard,

I think. It is all getting silly. Azpilicueta. Chelsea lead by three

goals to one. It is a yellow card for the Everton goalkeeper.

Deflected in off common. Watch what happens afterwards. -- Coleman.

Howard cautioned. A lovely run by Eden Hazard. Up through the gears. A

definite own goal. Howard swatted at it, could not keep it out. Feelings

are running high. Diego Costa has got to cool it a little bit. He is

on a yellow card. The DD. Lee Smith! -- Naismith! He is on fire.

Spun in magnificently. Outside of the foot.

Everton two, Chelsea three. What a moment to introduce Samuel Eto'o.

On for Aiden McGeady. And Chelsea have a fourth. Too much

space is not closed quickly enough. Howard amused. -- bemused.

Can Everton draw one back. They have got a free kick.

Leighton Baines with it. Samuel Eto'o! He scored against Chelsea

with his first touch against them. Lord Attenborough somewhere looking

down on this is writing the script. Another startling turn. Vintage

Samuel Eto'o. 3-4. Precise and lethal.

Mattiacci was in there. Diego Costa. No free kick. -- Matic. They have

got another! Defences caving in. They thought it would be tight but

the goals have cascaded in. Ramires picks it up. Howard should not have

been eating like that. First goal in a long while for Ramires. Everton

three, Chelsea five. Five goals in an amazing 11 minutes spell.

Hit the post. What a glorious move. This is sensational stuff. A

wonderful move, deserved a goal from Kevin Mirallas. One of the best

movies I have seen in a long while. -- moves.

Diego Costa! And wraps it up. Everton three, Chelsea six. Tried a

risky pass and made to pay for it. Composed finishing. Everton three,

Chelsea six. This has been some game!

You were smiling at some moments and despairing at others. It was

wonderful for everyone at the stadium and everyone watching TV

around the world. Not for me! We cannot make so many defensive

mistakes. We want to improve as a team but keeping our defensive

quality and strength and balance. And improving in other areas.

We started the game to slow. To give a lead to any team is difficult but

to give to Chelsea is even harder. But I thought we showed incredible

character and belief in the way that we are as a team. I felt we were

getting back, we got close. But Chelsea kept finding the back of the

net with ease. After the game was more for them.

And just before half-time we knew in the second half they would have a

great start. It is something we pride ourselves

on, we set up and defend well. And we look to punish teams at the other

end. Chelsea got the goals of the right time. They got two in front

after we pulled one back. What about that, gentleman? It started from the

first minute. Chelsea set the standard from the kick-off. It was

amazing. We have watched some terrific games all afternoon, but

this beat the lot of them. People talk about this being the

first test, but this is a statement of intent for me. They are

confident, they are top players, keep passing the ball. And what they

have in the side now is the added bonus of cost and Fabregas. Ramires

fires that ball into a lovely pocket, and 35 seconds in, they are

1-0 up, and Everton are chasing from then on. The first Chelsea player to

score four goals in three Premier League games since... ? It was the

defensive play that I thought was just as good as the attacking play.

Every time there was a gap to fill, he was back there. He was back in

the left-back position, you don't want your centre forward back there,

but it shows what a good team player he was. He was at the near post at

the corners, Headingley it away, so aggressive. And this is what I love

the most. They have just conceded a goal, and he is going mad at his

back four. Forget the goal, this lad is a team player. They are clever,

some of the Everton lads. Trying to wind him up, nudging him, and he has

a temper, as we know. He got the yellow card, but he stayed calm. He

didn't get the goal here, this is the own goal from Coleman. But what

does he do? Goes and gives Coleman a bit of a taste of his own medicine.

Big Tim Howard is unhappy, comes after him. We talked about whether

Jose would think about bringing him off, but he kept on, for this

quality. Look at Didier Drogba coming up to celebrate with him, now

maybe this man is going to be taking his mantle. It was an impressive

start. Everton played some great foot ball going forward. They have

scored seven goals in their first three games, but they have conceded

ten. It is very unlike Everton. They have been strong defensively. The

centre-backs today have struggled against Diego Costa. I'd Mac a

fantastic game to kick us off. It is one of the best games I have seen. I

haven't seen Phil that animated in a while! Stoke failed to get a single

point from their last 12 visits to Manchester City. It is a formidable

place to visit, and they lost only three matches at home last season.

Watching Mark Hughes return to Manchester was Guy Mowbray.

With two goals in just 29 minutes of action this season, what damage

could Sergio Aguero doing 90? For the first time, he start. Peter

Crouch has scored crackers against Manchester City in the past, but

Stoke have never scored on this ground. Outcomes Diouf. Crouch is

trying to time it right. Stoke happy to try to contain, nothing too

ambitious. Nothing too risky. Silva. It is moves like that that

take some containing. Samir Nasri tested him, but Begovic turned it

away. Stoke City still looking for their first league win of the new

season. Jovetic trying to turn it back to Aguero. Crouch does well

babe, got in front of Demichelis. -- does well there. Was there anything

that Lee Mason should have thought about here? He was lucky the way the

ball stayed under his boot. Was he tapped by Kolarov? Pellegrini

thought so. Maybe he went down a little too easily. There was boot

contact, all right. We will have a lively little finish

to a tepid first half. Silva. Up goes Shawcross, but it has come

straight to Aguero. He is looking for the angle. He needs support.

Yaya Toure! Off the crossbar. Where row was having to go the long way

around -- Aguero. He is not averse to doing that. A lovely little

touch, just not quite little enough. Manuel Pellegrini has said his team

might have two Wins in the bag, but they are not quite kicking yet. Yaya

Toure to Nasri. Bacary Sagna. Begovic has to save, onto the roof

of the net. Is this the start of a spell where Manchester City will

really start to push? Instead of hitting the bar this time, Yaya

Toure hit the hands of Begovic. Diouf has got the better of Kolarov.

And now he is straight past Fernandinho. And it is through Hart

and in! The former Manchester United man makes a huge mark on his return

to the Premier League. It is Stoke City's first goal at the Etihad

Stadium. He started just outside his own penalty area. Too quick for

Kolarov, too clever for Fernandinho, and then there is a stroke of luck,

because Hart has to save that. All that will show on the scoresheet is

a Mame Biram Diouf goal. The nightmare for the Manchester City

and England number one. But take nothing from the goalkeeper, mistake

from the -- take nothing from the player, mistake from the keeper or

not. It was a good run. He scored a hard one, missed the simple effort.

Marcuse knows how close he was. -- Mark Hughes.

Yaya Toure! Deflected wide. Begovic was absolutely helpless there. His

weight was going the other way. It is a total blue onslaught here.

Jesus Navas, Dzeko wants it. Lee Mason gives it to Stoke, and he is

going to give a yellow card to Yaya Toure, too. The Manchester City

reaction to this will be interesting. Anger from the captain,

Kompany. Doire Toure is impeded. You might put a strong case for two

penalties to have been awarded in that box this afternoon. Maybe like

Diouf in the first half, Yaya Toure went for it too much. Manchester

City nil, Stoke City one. Fantastic pace on the break. We knew that we

had that, Victor Moses, Odemwingie, Diouf. We always felt we could hit

them on the counterattack. I'm very pleased for him. I am just so happy

to have scored the first goal here. It has been great for us. I was just

sticking to the plan. I got the ball and turned around, and everything

was open, and I thought, just keep going, don't stop. These games

sometimes happen in a year. Today was the day. We didn't find the

space, and that is tough. Should you have had a penalty? That was just

one play during the game. Everyone who saw it told me it was a clear

penalty. Not impressed, but afterwards, I chewed the fat with a

very happy Mark Hughes. Since Stoke were promoted six seasons ago, they

have made 12 visits to Manchester and lost all 12. Lucky 13? It was a

good performance by the guys today. We had a game plan and knew what we

had to do, and we had to commit to do it and execute it, because we

were up against an outstanding team. But we were excellent in every

aspect of the game, and the goal that we scored to win it would be a

winner in any game. I was delighted for the players, because we gave

them a framework today, a plan to be able to go up against the top side,

and they really committed to it. The game plan was clearly to sit and

defend quite steeply, and hit on the counterattack. That was the option

we had this year. We haven't had that on other occasions. We have

done well in games where we have gone up against Man City since I

have been at the club. They have only ever scored one goal against

us, so we know we can frustrate them. We can defeat their fast

flowing game, which is difficult to defend against will stop that if you

are organised and commit to it, a game plan can help you. It was quite

a goal, a great individual effort from Diouf. We are pleased for him,

because when you come to a new club, you want to get off and running, get

goals under your belt. He has been hard on himself the last couple of

days, he feels he has taken chances that have come his way, but he did

that. How far do you think you can go this season? You finished top

half last year, where do your ambitions lie? The plan is we would

try to be a team that is consistently in the top ten of the

Premier League. With the resources that we have, that would be a great

achievement. If we can be consistently in that top half, I

think we can be congratulated for a job well done.

A Tarisio result for them. Not even Danny could have seen that one

coming! Ash back a terrific result for them. When you go to a top club,

you need to be organised, and that is what worked today. They got men

behind the ball, they played deep, they didn't allow City any space

behind them at all. Everyone is in a good shape. This hasn't happened by

accident. This has happened on the training ground all week. There are

no gaps for Silva, for Nasri, for Yaya Toure to thread the balls in

that we know city can do. Secondly, you have to be resilient. Manchester

City will get chances, and you need to put your body on the line and

block the shot. You need to block when you play against Manchester

city. There is the first block. Wilson gets out to the ball, blocks

another, and Shawcross, Stoke's best man today, in my opinion, was

brilliant. And this is the third thing, counterattack. You need to

have a go at the opposition. I thought that was a penalty on Mame

Biram Diouf. Stoke were unlucky. And this was the goal, from a City

corner kick. Fernandinho there is on a booking and can't commit himself,

and we know you've has speed. -- Diouf has speed. And again he gets

into a great opportunity here. When you come to the Etihad you need a

bit of luck. They lost concentration. It did not take away

from what was a fantastic performance. Any real concerns for

Manchester City? They were a bit complacent. After beating Liverpool

perhaps they thought it would be a walk in the park. But they have to

be Arsenal, Munich and Chelsea. They need to bounce back and show some

spirit because they were lethargic today.

Neil Warnock first took charge of Crystal Palace seven years ago

and declared it would be his last job in football.

Despite later spells at QPR and Leeds,

it looks like he might be right. He was back in the dug out to see

the Eagles take on the Magpies, a fixture Newcastle have won

on the last four occasions. Your commentator is Steve Bower.

There is a recall for Jason Puncheon who was fined for comments about the

Palace manager on social media. He is one of four changes.

Crystal Palace get the second Neil Warnock era at the club under way.

Both teams looking for a first Premier league that three of the

season. A good start from Palace

straightaway. Floated in by Bolasie. Dwight Gale, what a dream start for

Crystal Palace and for Neal Wallick. -- Neal Wallick. Inside the

first 30 seconds. He could not have dreamt of anything better when he

put his head on the pillow last night. Dwight Gayle, recalled after

that stunning league cup hat-trick, was in the right place at the right

time to follow in. And what a start and what a scoreline. That is what

you call a response to a new manager.

Just about trying to digest that goal after 29 seconds.

Cissokho. Palace getting bodies in the way. Janmaat! The summer

signing. That was all about perseverance. The Dutchman did not

give it up and he got his reward. Bolasie. Crystal Palace free kick.

Not subtle either. A strong defensive header.

Puncheon deflected it in. Pallas back in front. Less than three

minutes into the second half. Jason Puncheon on his return to the

starting line-up, scored it. Newcastle just momentarily fell

asleep. Just drifted away from the Newcastle goalkeeper.

That is the end of that afternoon for Dwight Gayle, after that

dramatic start. Wilfried Zaha back in Pallas colours. -- Crystal Palace

colours. And the Newcastle corner.

Newcastle level. What a moment for the 18-year-old. Wilander Ahrens. --

Rolando Aarons. The second equaliser of the day for Newcastle.

Headed it into the bottom corner. One substitute scored at one end,

one substitute denied that the other. Did not quite time the run.

Rolando Aarons. Mike Williamson with his very first Newcastle United

goal. With just two minutes to go he gives Newcastle the lead for the

first time today. His last goal was over five years ago for Watford.

That might just have won it for Newcastle. Once again Rolando Aarons

had a big part to play. And Newcastle lead 3-2. Free kick to

Crystal Palace. This entertainment worth the admission money alone.

Warnock watching on. Crystal Palace have done it! In the fifth minute of

stoppage time. Wilfried Zaha who this week returned for a second

spell to Crystal Palace, surely has got their first points of the

season. Rifled it through the crowd of players. Off the post and into

the back of the net. Well dispatched by Wilfried Zaha. 18 goals in his

first spell to help Crystal Palace into the Premier league. Front

running. There was a complaint about the

second minute of stoppage time. He was not complaining before we

scored! I felt we deserved that. I was disappointed with the referee.

It depends how you look at the spirit of the game. They wasted time

from the moment they got here. And that is then awarded.

Do you feel back at home at Crystal Palace? Definitely. I'm near

family, I go back home and my dad gives me advice! It would have been

more memorable if it had been a winning performance? It is just one

of those things. You are enjoying being back in the Premier league? It

is good to be able to put something back into that great club. Another

fabulous game. A good comeback for Neil and also for Wilfried Zaha. I

always thought he was destined for big things. He made a big difference

when he came on. He is brave and he tries to make things happen. He is a

goal threat and it takes someone to be brave on the ball when you had

tough time. This was just narrowly offside. But he finished it well. He

did not get despondent, he kept going. Puncheon did well also. He

had a point to prove. Then from a set play, just when you think

Crystal Palace have lost the game, tax it away in the bottom corner.

And Crystal Palace deserve that. On chances they should have won it. You

have worked with Wilfried Zaha, what are his strengths and weaknesses? He

is a good player. I think he is back where he likes to be, closed to his

mum and dad. And it is wake-up time for him now because he does have

wonderful ability. Neil Warnock, did that appointment surprised you? He

knows the club and the players seem to like him. I think they will be

fine. For Newcastle, a bit of promise from Rolando Aarons.

Alphabetically he is top of the list of goal-scorers. He scored the

second goal. Fraizier Campbell caught sleeping. He was really

brave, fearless. Showed great skill. I think that was a cross. But

because he is so young we will give it to him! Another good young

English talent. And plenty of them emerging at present. You have been

with the under 17. A great bunch of players coming through. I will not

have it that we do not have the talent in this country because we

Swansea were one of four sides to go into this weekend with a 100 percent

record and were hoping to continue that against West Bromich Albion.

The Baggies were the Premier League's draw specialists

last season with 15 and have started this campaign with two more.

John Roder was at the Liberty Stadium. Garry Monk names

and unchanged team. Jason Davidson also starts for the first time.

West Brom have signed the Argentine international Sebastien blank. --

Blanco. Swansea are in front! Less than 90

seconds played at the liberty, and Nathan Dyer strikes twice in the

space of a week. He got the winner in the victory here over Burnley

last weekend. There will surely be 20 of questions in the West Bromwich

Albion defence as to how exactly he was allowed to wriggle through. He

was able to put it in from a tight angle. One Swansea fan said to me

before kick-off, if we win today, it is nine points, and we are quarter

of the way towards safety. That is one way of looking at a terrific

start to the campaign, if Swansea can hold on to their advantage.

Guilty Sigurdsson. West Bromwich Albion will complete

the job. But it has gone straight to Sigurdsson. Wayne Routledge! 2-0!

West Bromwich Albion pay the price for failing to clear the ball from

their own penalty area. And Wayne Routledge has hobbled the Swans'

lead. -- doubled the lead. Doesn't he take it well?

Routledge is allowed to turn. And off the bar! Shelby picks it up.

Swansea looking good for a third goal, and Olson almost provided it

for them. Offside, it won't count. A scare here, the header looping over.

Four. A late challenge there from

Davidson. Williams with the touch. It might drop here for Wayne

Routledge. Looking to repeat his goal-scoring heroics from earlier.

This time, the ball curling away from goal. It came off any of the

West Brom defender, Dawson. -- the knee.

Bony! Should that have been 3-0 to Swansea, game over?

A lovely touch from Sigurdsson to Nathan Dyer. 3-0! It perhaps should

have been 3-0 couple of moments ago. Wilfred Dhoni put his shot over. But

Nathan Dyer puts that effort in. -- Wilfred Bony. Is there any way back

now for West Bromwich Albion? The pace of Nathan Dyer has once again

taken him away from David. His third goal of the season. Swansea three,

West Bromwich Albion nil. Fabianski beaten. But it was just a

fraction too high. Morrison will try his luck from

distance, Fabianski with save. West Brom continuing to press, in the

somewhat forlorn hope, you have to say, of finding a way back into this

game. Three wins out of three to start a

new Premier League season for Garry Monk's Swansea City. Two goals from

Nathan Dyer, the other for Wayne Routledge. West Bromwich Albion were

poor. We have been working hard in the week with what we are trying to

do with the ball, passing it quick, getting the movement. Another clean

sheet, three goals, another three points, so we are happy. Is spend

all week working on how you want to play. Your game plan seems to be

going well. And then an unfortunate slip which you can't legislate for

gives them the start that they wanted and we didn't want. I felt

that once we settled back down from that, we looked OK, we were still

the better team, no question. And then we made a second mistake, and

it has become an even harder task. It is just another three points

towards where we are trying to get, and expectation levels get race, but

we are realistic in understanding that a club like us it is just

making sure that we get to 40 points as soon as possible. Staying in the

league is the most important thing to us.

For a couple of hours, they were top of the Premier League. It is looking

good for them. They played with supreme confidence, especially after

the win at Man United. I think a lot of people thought he might not be

the right appointment, Garry Monk. But he is thriving in the role, he

deserves great credit, and he has carried on the philosophy of

football that Swansea has created in the last you years stop they played

out from the back. West Brom sat off them early on, which is a mistake.

They played it around them and caused problems. This is Nathan Dyer

coming in off the right. He has been energetic all afternoon. And when

they have a goal up, it gives them the ability to counterattack.

Routledge is trying to get forward, Bony is in the box will. The bottom

of the screen, Routledge is flying forward. And it carried on

throughout the game, West Bromwich trying to push. Routledge again.

This time, he gets brought down, but he jumps up, carries on, playing

with confidence. He is an lucky there. West Brom did come back in

the end, but they could have had three or four more. And that, it

doesn't matter what formation you are talking about. When you can

volley of all like that. Keeping that Dan was the real skill. Philip,

has he got what it takes to be a manager of a club in the Premier

League? I worked with Alan at the Premier League. He has 11 new

signings, and are not fit. He needs to get them quick fit, particularly

Joleon Lescott. The next game is a big one for Swansea, it is against

Chelsea. Something has got to give. Not only did Sam Allardyce's side

win away from home last weekend, there was a suggestion of a return

to the old West Ham way. Today they took on Southampton, another side

who are easy on the eye. John Motson was at Upton Park.

A free kick off for West Ham supporters, their loyalty has been

rewarded today with a new signing, Alex Song, the former Arsenal

midfielder signed this morning on loan from Barcelona. The Hammers

team he will watch today is the one started Crystal Palace last week.

Southampton, who unlike West Ham got through in the Capital One Cup, make

one change from the team that is true with West Brom.

This is noble, and he has Carlton Cole to his left. He shoots. And it

has gone in! Mark Noble, West Ham's favourite son, opens the scoring

against Southampton. Yoshida tried to get in the way, and there might

have been a deflection off him, but Noble, who missed a penalty against

Tottenham in the opening game, will feel so much happier now. Yoshida is

standing in front of him, it definitely comes off his foot. Full

marks to Noble for having a go from here. 1-0 to West Ham. Not a

prolific goal-scorer from midfield. He got three last season. But that

will be very welcome on the day from Sam Allardyce.

That is going to be a Southampton free kick.

It has gone right across and it is an equaliser for Morgan

Schneiderlin. The free kick eluded everybody else, and I don't think

West Ham had quite picked up the last man here. Look at the crowd in

the middle, and he has freedom to strike that one, twice will do. He

had his eye on the ball as he shaped to shoot the first time. Joey

O'Brien blocked the first effort, and then Schneiderlin curls that

through. Alex Song having a chance to look at the players he will soon

be joining. It is Carlton Cole with the head-on. Appeals for handball,

mostly by the crowd. Carlton Cole flicks that on, and I wonder,

Yoshida here, is that an arm, hand to ball? You could argue this one

either way. Identity, did you try to get his arm out the way to late?

This is Ward-Prowse. There was somebody brought down there off the

ball. It is a yellow card. Creswell committed a foul there which the

referee decided was cynical enough to be issued with the yellow card.

Yoshida is in there, and so is Schneiderlin. No goal, the offside

flag is raised. If you ask me, three of them are offside. No goal.

Graziano Pelle was the man who tucked it past Adriaan.

It was Gaston Ramires who has just come on who went in for the header.

And the referee has decided that came off the West Ham player. A

corner. It has been taken terribly quickly. Ward-Prowse, and it has

been scrambled in! Schneiderlin was there again. As Southampton have

taken the lead. And West Ham just were not concentrating. 67 minutes

gone, their team in front, but that corner which they disputed, there is

nobody marking anybody. I don't believe the defending by

West Ham. They completely switched off, because they didn't think it

should have been a corner. Sammy Lee there off the bench to celebrate.

One has to ask, did Mike Dean call correctly in saying corner? They

were not concentrating properly so West Ham left themselves exposed

when the corner was taken. Jack Cork. Has gone a long way with that.

And it is in! Pelle. 3-1 Southampton. West Ham caught out

again. A really probing run. And then Pelle, unmistakably accurate

with his left foot. It surely locks up the points for Southampton. A

really bad day for Sam Allardyce and West Ham. The crowd booing at the

end. It was an impressive display from Southampton.

Luckily we scored 1-1 close to half-time. That gave us the belief

to play and to play to win. That was the most important thing. In the

second half it was impressive and we deserved to win.

We lost a couple of stupid goals from set pieces today. I was talking
