what a player! It is very important for us to narrow the gap with

card. Goodness me, that has come from nowhere. Today, I think the

result was helped by the referee. Straight in! Lukaku! Jagielka again.

Lukaku! Two for him. And four for Everton.

He slips and stumbles. It is 2-0 to Crystal Palace! You don't think it

is the affecting the players? The uncertainty surrounding you? No, I

do think so. This is a manager who has managed the invincible is and he

is managing the invisibles. N'Golo Kante was last

season's surprise package - plucked from obscurity to anchor

Leicester City's unlikely A summer move brought his

tireless-running to Chelsea and he has reinvigorated

the Blues midfield. Today saw the announcement

of the short list for the PFA Player of the Year and,

once again, Kante's name But how did it all begin

for the diminutive Frenchman? N'Golo Kante was born in Paris that

he grew up in the west suburbs of the city. Not the most dangerous

council estate but a council estate with a huge sense of community. His

dad was a cleaner and his mum was a refuse collector. His diet died when

he was 11. His baby bit introverted. He started playing football nearby.

There is an amazing picture of him winning player of the tournament.

All the other boys are lifting his trophy and he is standing beside

which shows his humility. He had to fight harder than

everybody else. He had to run faster than everyone else. He had to tackle

more than everybody else. The question is, Giroud, reasonably,

all of them had to go through the lower leagues before making it to

the big time which is what he did. When he was in the third division at

belong, you could see when he broke into the first-team, there was

something special about him. Someone rang the director and said, you have

to come down, this player we have just something else.

I do think I have seen a player with so many Man of the Match awards in a

row than N'Golo Kante in the second division in France. What amazes me

is Kante was setting such standards or interceptions and tackles that

others were not on the case sooner, but it was certainly Leicester who

had the jump on everybody else. Leicester said we are the English

Kong, we want you to do the same job for Leicester that you did for Caen.

Kante is very reserved and lives a simple life. His ex-flatmates at

belong said they shared a flat free year and Kante hardly said a word to

them. He just smiled. That sums it up.

He was perfect for Leicester at that time, for Ranieri, for Vardy and all

the players. He was pivotal to that game that

Leicester had, counterattacking quickly and defending the ball and

getting it forward. Because he can do the work of two players, he was

able to be part of the defensive unit and also part of the attacking

unit. His sheer game and intelligence, that overtime is what

you see with Kante. He passed is A-levels and he got a degree in

accounting as well. He could be an accountant now if he had not made it

in football. I think the brain has always been key in his game. He has

always thought more than everybody else. He has somehow made himself

part of the defence and the attack at the same time. It is that ability

that makes him different from something we have seen before. He is

like McEnaney. It is extraordinary to see something new in football. I

think the proof of Kante's importance has been this season in

what Leicester lost and Chelsea gained. He felt lucky after two

years at Caen for the next thing. Every next step, he delivers.

Winning the Premier League and playing in the Euros for France

shows everybody, you get it all wrong. He sees revenge for

everything. Nobody believed in him as a kid. Despite being good,

everyone said, you are too small, you are not good enough. He says,

look where I am now. There is that old British view that

the midfielder has to score goals, he has to be spectacular to be a top

player. I think if you have not watched Kante closely, you might

just think he is a guy who runs about and makes tackles. If you do

watching closely, you get it. I think as time goes on more of us

will see more of him and understand how good he is. He is a freak. He's

a freak of nature. He's different probably to anything else they have

seen. From where he started in that council estate to where he got with

Leicester, to where he is getting with Chelsea, I think he deserves it

all and it is a wonder. A. Last year's PFA Young Player

Premier League campaign This season, he's

continued to shine. We sent Lloyd Griffith

My name is Lloyd Griffith, I am at Grimsby Town fan and I am a taxi

driver for Premier League footballers. The person I'm picking

up today, not only does he play for one of the best teams in the

country, he is also very much in the England setup. So I reckon I am

picking him up from a pretty sweet gap, although... A caravan park. It

is Dele Alli. Hello, mate. Look at this place. How long have you lived

here? A couple of years. Is this your caravan? That is mine. How many

rooms? Two ensuite bedrooms. Let's just so you have had a easy day, it

is a Saturday, you are tired, you get home, how does it work? Do you

tuck yourself thin or does Eric do it for you? If one of us was to tuck

the other in then Eric would be tucking me in. That is nice. Are you

pro-yes-macro for life? Whatever happens, we are staying together.

They have basically seen a range Rover behind us and they think there

is a Tottenham player in there. This is it, you need to get one of these

and no one will ask you -- U. Did you see that? That is so good. How

did it come about? When I was in MK, I was talking to one of my friends,

I waved at the camera, it was on Sky Sports and they used that clip and

no one mentioned it and after I signed for Tottenham, all of a

sudden, everyone had seen it. For me, it was just a normal wave. Gary

history is not very good. There is no backing out now, mate, literally,

Didier Drogba won four Premier League titles,

four FA Cups, three League Cups and the Champions League

in the blue of Chelsea. This week he's been back in London

and talking to Dan Walker. COMMENTATOR: What a goal by Didier

Drogba. Didier Drogba. Lovely to see you again. You've got some big news

to announce. What do you want to say? COMMENTATOR: Drogba,

magnificent. I'm moving to Arizona to a team. It is an ambitious

programme to be part of MLS over the next few years. It is a good

transition because I want to carry on playing but at the same time, I'm

almost 40 and next year I'm going to be 40, so it is important for me to

prepare the after-career and finish. What made you go for this

opportunity, rather than, I'm sure you've been offered all sorts of

jobs in roles all around the world. I could have' carried on playing. I

had offers from England, from Premier League teams. Championship,

China, India. But opportunity to own a team and be a player at the same

time is unusual. Does it not make you sort of undropable? Can you

imagine the manager coming to you and saying - now, Didier, you are

not playing very well. I think it's important. I've been a player - I'm

still a player but it is important to respect the decision of the

manager. But I can help them with my experience and with my football

knowledge, it is an honour and I'm really proud to be part of the team

now. COMMENTATOR: Drogba, brilliant goal. Here we are, a beautiful day,

Chelsea Harbour, you are back near the club where you've won all those

titles, FA Cups and the Champions' League as well. How do you look back

on your time at Chelsea now? I can see a massive smile that comes

across your face? Yes, this is where we used to stay the night before the

games. And we had a lot of lunches here and dinners, great moments,

great moments. When you look back at your career, what I find interesting

is you are always a man for the big occasion. There are lots of

footballers, we know they are good footballers but they can't produce

in a Cup final when it really matters. With five minutes to go n

extra time, Drogba has scored for Chelsea. Is that a mentality thing?

How did you managed to do that? As a kid when I was playing outside, on

the streets or even on a football field, I would say - OK, last free

kick, or last header, or last everything. And if I scored, we win.

You know, so when I got the chance to play finals, that's the spirit I

had. COMMENTATOR: A brilliant header by Didier Drogba and we're heading

for extra time. To have the chance to score the goal in the 88th minute

in that Champions' League final was unbelievable. You know. I think it's

maybe one of the goals I did not expect. Thank God Juan Mata was

there to make me believe it a bit more. Two more minutes and the rest

is history. What do you make of the club you have to play for this

season? It is good to see them at the level we expect them to be, you

know. And it looks like we're going to be champions again. I can't wait

again for Chelsea to play in the Champions' League next year. Bearing

in mind the way they are playing this year with virtually the same

team, what happened last year? You know, I think they just had a bad

season. As players, we are also responsible for everything. It is

easy to blame the manager. It is easy to get rid of one person, than

to get rid of 22. ... I think so, he loves Chelsea. Bull he can recover

from that. Yes, he is strong and powerful and can recover. Now the

new team and Antonio Conte, is it all down to tactical change. What

has he ing brought to the team? All down to his tactical change, and his

mentality. You can see him on the bench and the way it is working, it

is a combination of everything. Having a bad season last year, a lot

to prove, for example, Edin, Diego and what they are doing now. They

are now playing at the level we want them to be every time and it is

fantastic to watch them play. Whenever you interview a Chelsea

player and you mention Mr Conte, there is a smile on the fachls there

is an appreciation of the job he does. -- -- Mr Kante, there is a

smile on the face. There is an appreciation of the job he does.

Would you give Player of the Year to him ahead of others? It is

difficult. I think I would go for Kante the Player of the Year and

then Hazard for another award. Let's talk about the man you say is your

man, Hazard. How good could he be? Could he be on the level with the

Ronaldos and the Messis? Right now I think he is about 75, 80% of his

talent. That's quite scary for the opposition. That's a reality. I take

it youp want to see him stay at Chelsea? I think it is important for

Chelsea to keep their best players. If you want it win the Champions'

League again, you need to keep your best players. One striker I want to

talk to you about, young man, 23, Romelu Lukaku. Yes. Now Roberto

Martinez, he used to be his boss at Everton, said he could be the best

number 9 in the world. Is that right? Well, when you look at the

statistics and his age and the way he is progressing, I think he could

be right. Because there is a rumour out there that you are meant to be

brokering this deal to get him back to chess else. Me? Have you not read

that? Listen, if that was the case he would be in Chelsea already, a

long time ago. The power of Drogba. Not the power of Drogba. It is just

I know the fact that he loves Chelsea and this club needs people

who feel something for the club and he does so - and more than, that he

wants to prove that he can make it and you know I would be happy to see

him again in a Chelsea skirt but you know, I don't decide for him. Nobody

will decide for him. I think he already knows what he wants to do.

else, I have learnt that when Drogba wants something to happen t happens,

As well as being huge Manchester United fans,

Manchester band Prose are something of an underground success and they

Manchester, music, football, the Holy Trinity. Match day we are at

Old Trafford. It'll be swarming with red. Us United fans in the know, we

know a venue where we like to go before the games. We're Prose from

Stretford. We're going to take you there now. We've been United fans

all our lives. We grew up a stone's throw away from the ground. We can't

help but be fans. . Listening to the chants. It is like a religion in

most people's houses. From the outside this might look like a

gritty warehouse in the middle of Old Trafford. In the inside it is a

cool venue you can come to on the way to the match to grab a drink and

listen to live music. You never know you might catch the next Stone Roses

or us, even better. It only open on match days and like

the raves, you only know about it if you are in the know. We played on

the opening day of this venue, Tottenham at home in the Premier

League. COMMENTATOR: Ibrahimovic there and Mkhitaryan doesn't need

anybody else We've not lost a home game since it's been on, good omen.

A lucky charm. Sometimes when you are chasing a certain town, you can

hear it, football. The Cortinas, as we were going for the 20th title.
