fourth gear. Lap five to go. You can see the wear on the rear of

Lorenzo's tyre. Turn 12 you call it, the 11 and 12 corners. A bit of a

breather here. Asim metric tyres. Once again on the left side of the

tyre. This is also an extremely long corner. They hardly stepped

off. They are lighting the tyres up. Leaving black lines everywhere. The

rear of Lorenzo bike looks shabier than the rear of the Honda. Pedrosa

is not done with here. His last lap is the 10th fastest. Crutchlow and

-- has gone around Rossi. Leaders of the CRT machines is de Puniet

making his 250th start this year. Don't want to be nerve about this.

Keep on eye on the clouds. Listen to Marquez. -- negative about this,

keep on eye on the clouds. Listen to Marquez. Missed the apex a

little bit. It's quite wide. A little bit of a wobble if you like,

from Marquez. Drifted a little bit further out. Didn't hook the apex

on the last corner. Crutchlow on fourth and fifth position. How many

times have you seen the trio having a scrap for fourth. It's normally

be Rossi who has been the fastest. One of the first times we have been

able to say it might make it up in the pit stops. I was talking about

Pedrosa. Bang on the back of Marquez. His last lap was 2/10th

fastest. It will be interesting to see if Marquez will get past

Lorenzo. This is where Marquez is good. Out of Siberia drive up the

hill. Check these tyres. The tighter line taken by Marquez.

Lorenzo the silky smooth. He will take the line to drop into. The

apex section down into the bottom. Out of MG. Does extremely well.

Look at the wear lines on the rear tyre of Lorenzo. You can expect him

to get started as quickly as he can. They will start to feel that. It

goes o out of balance if there's any sign -- but they were saying

that wasn't the problem. It was internal heat. Internal blistering.

The tyres were getting to 1220 to 1230 degrees. They were getting too

much heat. That's why they decided to cut it down to ten lapse.

Pitbulls have never been more important. You can't count the guy

down. Not like push, push pushing... Here's the bike, warmed up, on the

stands. Tyres warmed, engines running. I notice Yamaha had their

bike in gear. Two reasons... There's a risk of stalling, and

that's all worked out. Look at this, Marquez is having a dive on the

outside. It will cut back. Pedrosa won't want a second invitation. If

they stall, that's the big issue. Here's what happened there. Big,

big moment trying to get drive out of MG. Marquez could not capitalise

on it. We're soon coming to the situation. If you stall the bike,

do they push start it. There will be a lot of tensions. It will be

about you can't hear what is going on. Everybody changing bikes as

quick as they can. So keen for the pit stop to be done with. As you

ride with Marquez trying to find a way past. A massive breaking zone,

probably the biggest as you ahead to Siberia, Honda gets a good drive.

A massively powerful line. Trying to get it in and get it out of

there fast. Now the lap times are similar by all the guys, 29.2. We

saw the mistake by Lorenzo. He dropped off a lot of time. Nobody

was able to capitalise on it. It will soon be pit stop time.

Bunching up there. That's where he made the mistake last time but not

this time. He's coming in quickly. He's coming first. Pedrosa has he

pitted? Lap nine. Do you see he is jamming the brakes on. You can't

see the speed limit. That was really, really close to the line.

Pedrosa he will come out. These two are going to stick to each other

like glue. They will both be coming in together. There go... Quick as

you k you like. That was good. Pedrosa was out and a long, long

way down. All the way to turn one. Normally you'll right that line...

So you re-enter the traffic at a reasonable speed. Everybody will

have to be Jew dishes getting into the southern loop. Edwards coming

down. These two seem to be the few that have gone for ten as opposed

to nine. Neither will get the other out of their sight. How close was

that leg in the air?! Now is a good time to pit! Change your leathers

as well. He's off the side of the bike. His knee kept him up. He

can't do that! Collapse of stout party. I thought he was only

allowed to do lap ten. Pedrosa has gone out again. Marquez has carried

on. He's the oath one. Lorenzo is in. Crutchlow is coming in. Nine

lapse of that. Too much speed! I think half a second lost mid-air.

Critical for him no-one gets past him. He's bouncing like a flog --

frog in a sock. Crutchlow they have all the time. They can ride no

hands there. Marquez look at him sliding into the corners. He has

gone a lap further than anyone else. Ridiculous. Tyres going cold. They

are rejoining the track. No indication of what is going on.

Lorenzo has come out. Pedrosa realistically will be up to speed

more tyre temperature wise. Let's see if Lorenzo takes a little while

to get dialled in. Pedrosa -- Marquez was supposed to pit on lap

nine or ten. So he's in now. In he comes. Limitor on. They hit a

button on the handled bars. It holds it at 60 miles per hour. I

wonder if Pedrosa pitted too early. Lap nine or ten might be the issue.

You want to get a copy of this lap start. That wasn't as smooth as the

practices! Pedrosa is according to my timing board Pedrosa will have

to drop a spot. What that means is Pedrosa came in early, it wasn't

Marquez coming in early. Pedrosa got it wrong. Somebody did. I'm

sure the pit board was telling him to. If he didn't are bad luck he

would not have any at all! This is going to be close! Goodness me,

really, really dangerous. Well, has it damaged any of the bikes?

Anybody got a lead or anything missing? Watch, he did what he

should do. That's so, so close. It could have taken a bar, or a brake

lever, something has broken off the bike! It's usual Marquez that is

the hitter, not the hittee. You would not blame Lorenzo. Not at all.

He's carrying speed. The guy is trying to keep out of the way it's

all he can do. Another look at this. Too quick. Too fast in there.

Because nobody is used to where the pit lane starts. It starts earlier

than it has all weekend. This is hopeless for Dani Pedrosa. After

what has happened to him this weebg year he needs that like a third

armpit. The championship is safe to go down to Japan, even if Marquez

gets past Lorenzo, Lorenzo is only going to finish second to keep the

whole thing alive. I don't think that Marquez will know the

situation. He only knows racing flat out. I disagree Lorenzo, I

think he will pin it. At the moment Lorenzo is leading on the tracks,

fair play. The screen said it was Pedrosa passing the neutral line.

You had three guys pitting on three lapse, not two. That is fact. So...

Someone is wrong. It is very, very dark here. The camera lies a little

bit. It's starting in focus, it's getting particularly dark here.

Let's keep our fingers crossed it doesn't turn into a big cluster.

Marquez has closed on Pedrosa. We have seen him nearly crash already.

These points could be very Scrabble to him. We will only have 50 points

after this. Rossi did a better job of his pit stop. You can see

Crutchlow was hot under the collar with Rossi. Both tripping over each

other. Rossi made up places in the pits. Cal Crutchlow has entered the

pits. He's out of the race. Not quite close enough. Rossi able to

hold it. Even though Crutchlow was over it. Fastest lap Marquez, and

Crutchlow goes through. And Rossi out wide. Look at this. He has done

it! He's through, and Pedrosa wants a piece back again, side by side.

We'll going to track a lift here boys and girls. Pedrosa trying to

get on terms. Marquez did the fantastic block pass. Can he get on

terms with Lorenzo before the end of this. Look at everybody debating

ha is going on. That's the boss of the yom Yamaha team there trying to

sort something out. I think he thinks there has been a

misdemeanour there. Either one was early or the other was late.

Everything is hanging in the balance here. Marquez black flag.

Marquez was late. That has shot the fox. Black flag... You would not

read about it. You can't have three guys on three different lapse.

Black flag for Marquez, for going too far. I started writing a piece

for the Times saying Phillip Island never fails to amaze. I never

imagined this. They are in having connipgss there at the wall. We'll

go now with an 18-point margin. We're going to Japan... Black flag

ignored. The guys that drill, and polished and got it right, both

screwed up. Marquez missed the window. Pedrosa, he blew it on the

way in. So Lorenzo can ride this hands in heels. Pedrosa will finish

further back. At this rate Rossi is on the podium. This is the most

confusing race I've every seen. It looks like Lorenzo is going to pick

up points. I can't believe what has happened to the shambles. I don't

know if someone has got the pit board wrong, that's unforable.

Marquez who has ridden brilliantly, and perfectly... Except he can't

count. Either that or the pit board is wrong. This is no way to end a

race. No way to sort a championship out. It's a ridiculous scenario

we're in. The guy leading the race is really leading the race. The man

second has to drop a place. The man third is Crutchlow who will move to

second, and Rossi is in the hunt. We can find if Crutchlow went too

far. Lorenzo has a.2 second advantage over Pedrosa. And imagine

trying to explain with another pit board that Pedrosa is not even

second. This is going to take anythinging -- figuring out and I

want to know who has made the mistake. You want to feel sorry for

Marquez. He's out. Marquez might be thinking Dani Pedrosa made a

mistake and went too early. Only Pedrosa went into the pits first

shot around. Extraordinary this could happen. None of the riders

are used to pit stops. Marquez, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Pedrosa is almost

back in the hunt. That has taken 25 points out of the championship and

given it to Lorenzo at this stage. I assume that they are fact yorg in,

the man they are looking at, Pedrosa is third on track and not

second. He's carrying a penalty. Rossi got past Crutchlow. Rossi is

second and Cal Crutchlow is third. Everyone is a winner! No Charlie,

that's not A the case. It says he has to drop a spot. You think that

has been addressed? That's first and second. And it's three laps to

go and it's only a 19-lap race. Give me that pen! This is going

down in the wire between these three. We have seen Rossi in the

lead of it so often. They are clarifying for him, he's P2, lap

2P2. That was a lucky bounce for him. How confusing, Cal Crutchlow

doing everything he can. Would not be as much as the factory bike. He

wants the podium. He is really, really close. You can see the bike

buffeting around trying to get the toe from Rossi. Crutchlow slams

shut the down. Down into Honda corner. Nice and wide from

Crutchlow. Making it a big, long ride from... Bautista. Number 50,

getting the black band. They are all getting the black flag for

ignoring the pit window. Crutchlow doing everything he can over the

top. He will have a look down the inside. Rossi makes the Yamaha M1

very, very wide. Through the left hander. That was very for tue to us

for Pedrosa to reposition himself like that, so he took the on track

penalty. Dani could do with some luck. Extraordinary that both of

the hond yas made a hash of things.Dani Didn't, did he? Not on

the way into the pit window. Less than a lap to go. Lorenzo still

spinning up the M1. Down into first at M go G. Half a lap remaining and

2.5 seconds. Crutchlow doing everything he can. Trying to ride

around the outside of Rossi. Heading down to Siberia. Want to

keep a line of stern. They will tap on and run down the hill. Up the

hay she'ds corner. Super fast. Down through MG. Who would have thought

he can ride hands to heel and saunter home, Lorenzo. Bautista has

mugged Crutchlow and he's trying to pressure Valentino Rossi. For the

last time. Plenty of sparks, across the line in the most confusing race,

Lorenzo wins, as the rain starts to fall in Australia. That's kicked

the door wide open in the championship. Will it be so close -

- it was Rossi! It's raining, it's Rossi on the podium. Everyone is a

winner. Unbelievable. Cal Crutchlow is so close to fourth. 1/10th...

The monsoon is hitting. It just held off long enough. It wasn't for

these guys. Smith had a pretty good finish at 6th. Top ten rounded up

by de Puniet. What a race! Most confusing thing I've ever comment

Tateed on. We weren't sure what was going on. That man got it bang on.

The only thing that was clear, the only thing that was really clear if

the guys did get across three laps, someone had to be wrong. I agree.

That's everyone saying "I did this with a pit board ...". They will

not be happy. The interesting thing our colleagues in Honda were keen

for the championship to be settled in Japan which is the race next

week. They will have a bit on to deliver that. Have you seen, it's

like a pace car coming out on the championship. Extraordinary.

Starting to really pour with rain. What did we see? Lorenzo did a

pretty good pit stop and carried a lot of speed. Pedrosa marked it by

not getting the speed down enough in time, had to unbundle that on

track, and Marquez was black flagged. And he was back where he

started. Rossi and Crutchlow had a dual for Bautista had a dual, and

that's where it finished. Imagine if the rain had come earlier!

Another stop... Red flag with two laps to go again. That would have

been perfect for Marquez. The only man who is absolutely sure where he

finished is this guy, he crossed the line first and did it all

perfectly. It was a wonderful, wonderful job. Quick times right to

the end. Pedrosa was very Jew dishes. He was further down the

track. Have a look at his last lap time compared to Lorenzo. Four

seconds slower. 29 for Lorenzo. Dani Pedrosa played for safety.

Extraordinary stuff. The top CRT bike was de Puniet. He beat his

team mate coming home in 10th position. Pretty interesting stuff

going on. Rossi shaking his head can't believe what is going on. He

hit the rain at the end. Got the rain in the end and nearly crashed

as well. Looking at that. That was the most astonishing bit of

shenanigans. That was the time that Marquez should have come in. He

would have seen people going in... I don't know. What was on his pit

board. Did he notice people going in? Or did he decide Lorenzo went

in on the first lap not the second? Who knows? Impressive braking going

in there. I would like to see what the pit board had on it. That was

incredible. Dangerous. He has a look over his shoulder, and has to

focus. Lorenzo comes into the corner, and he's committed. And

there's no way he can slow down. I'm trying to work out what got

knocked off. I don't understand making them go at working pace. The

point of the pit lane -- I race the cars here, you're supposed to be

going at speed. Valentino Rossi on the podium that will please a few

people. Congratulations back on the podium. What a race. In all your

years in MotoGP I bet you never had a race like that. Good job.

Unfortunately I wasn't strong enough to go with the first they. I

suffered a lot with Rio. But we did a great job with the team in the

box. I was able to take -- over take Bautista and Crutchlow. After

the a little with Cal great fun. At the end I can beat him for the

podium. I think I'm also second because Pedrosa entered without the

speed level. We think he dropped the level before. Maybe second, but

podium. He has hurt his arm. He has got an arm injury. The right arm

the contact point. I think body work came off. It was a big impact.

I'm not sure what the theory was carrying that sort of speed to the

bottom of the pit lane. You go into that so, so hot. You could not

blame anybody for what went on. It was a timing situation that they

collided with the same point with different speeds. Let's confirm the

result. Pedrosa was second. Valentino still thinks Dani has to

drop a spot. He did. He did it on the track. Whether he dropped it or

it passed, it was a spot less. Lorenzo won the race and is still

alive in the hunt. What to say after that race... The championship

is more alive. The race, talk us through it. And the pit stop and

everything. It has been a funny race. But very emotional. Went 200

-- two sessions all the time. I'm finished. I was very tired on my

arms. A lot of things, we touched each other Marquez and myself on

this corner because he was going into the track and I was going into

the straight. I braked too late, so that's why I opened the line. We

touched each other. I don't know why Marquez could not finish the

race. I'm sure it will be much more difficult if he was on the track.

What was the pit stop like? Well, we planning, we're training a lot

before the race, to improve the pit stop. Because Marquez was much,

much fastest. We practiced three or four times. Congratulations. Thank

you very much. They did practice but he still carried industrial

speed when he got off the bike. He was in yorbity. He said he went hot

into turn one and that made him wider -- in orbit. How about that?

Extraordinary stuff. Pedrosa 264. And Rossi 14. And Cal comfortably

in fifth. With no pressure from Bautista. Boy Oh boy, it's kicked

it wide open. Pedrosa will be scratching his head. Dani Pedrosa

congratulations on the podium. I mean what a race. For you that pit

stop with everything that happened, do you think if he -- you didn't

have that mistake you might have been able to fight for the win? I

made no mistake. High a good start. Every lap is better or same as my

qualifying lap. I was doing a great job. I decided to stop first. Had

the instinct I had to stop first and it worked out very well. I

picked up a little gap from Jorge. The bike did not feel the same I

could not go the same speed. I was struggling with the front. When I

was with Corti immediately he started to pull away gaps. Very

were very, very lucky with the rain. It was in the last lap. There was

no so many flys in the visor you could not see what was happening,

whether it was raining. Enjoyed the round here, because I was out in

the podium and today I was very competitive. Thank you Dani. That

was interesting in the fact his second bike, his second bike --

often the case. I've never had two motorbikes feel the same. Peculiar.

A lot of people are confused what is going on. De Puniet is the top

CRT rider. Your 250 GP. Here you are to celebrate. I'm so happy.

It's a difficult season. We continue to walk, even if you had a

bad moment, everybody pushed and tried to give his best. This

weekend was a good weekend. Finally I did a very good race. I finished

tenth. The race was only one time we had the possibility to be in the

top ten. We were consistent. We never demolished the tyre. That's

why I was upset yesterday when they decided to cut the race in two

parts. Alex won the title. He was strong this year. That's it. What

was the pit stop like? Did you have tactics? We trained and tried to

adjust the bike in the best position. I think we did a great

job. Everything was good. We didn't lose time. It was okay.

Congratulations. Congratulations. Randy said he was happy. But he had

not told his face! He has been strangely second spot to his team

mate all year. What a view. Is that a place for a race? Like a Lxnx.

They do say if you don't like the weather at Phillip Island, wait an

hour and it changes -- it does! Honda suffered an extraordinary

penalty and were docked 25 points last time out. A peculiar decision

that has been going on, messy rbgs there's the guys lining up. They

are still debating second and third. And everybody talking about how

they got caught out in the rain. You can see in the Yamaha, they

thought they were second. One more lap, I'm sure they would have had

to stop it. If they had not everybody would have crashed out.

What an incredible Australian Grand Prix. A weekend off and the final

one... I never thought that the race would finish with them doing

paperwork. That will cheer people up. No Casey Stoner but at least

you have got Valentino Rossi. Someone widely loved on the podium.

I think it's delightful to see Lorenzo up there as well. Pedrosa

needed luck and he got some at last. He got bad luck with the penalty

for breaching the speed going in, in the neutral zone they call it.

The first bit if you're supposed to be watching the speed. Crowd

astonishing depleted here in Australia, without Stoner. But it

has made life easier to get in and out of the circuit. We miss him

enormously, it would have brought extra spice to the circuit but it

was complicated enough without him. Remember for Bass, as in Bass

Strait, as in the big piece of water you're looking at... Lorenzo

the winner, started from pole, lead to term one, did the job...

Is he appear happy boy! It's that time again. Valentino Rossi knows

how to do it. Big crowd on the pit lane. Always a -- an accustomed

practice here, let everywhere warned down. The last race of the

day. The rain has passed us again. That was the most astonishingly

complicated race. Jorge Lorenzo winning no matter which way you cut

it. Getting the pit stops right. Honda making a hash of it both for

Pedrosa and their markers -- Marquez missing the window, that's

no way to see a man out of a race. That means the championship is wide

open as we go to Japan. Steve Parish run out of pencil trying to

work it out. I think we have just a result. You must looking to the

test. What a crazy race. Thanks goodness I went to school. I can't

work out what went on with the wrong stop. I think had he had the

big slide it went out of his head to come in. We spent a lot of time

at the team box, no sign of Marquez. A big team debrief going on. All

out the back. There will be answers to be found from someone. I've come

past the Yamaha guys running to race director. Nobody is sure what

is going on. There could be protests and appeal. We will wait

and see. I feel sorry for Marc Marquez, having a tiny window like

that. Those guys' heads are full of everything, everywhere --

especially when you nearly fell off the bike moments SAG. Do you think

Marquez made a mistake and.... I think he might have thought Dani

went in earlier. But Dani was behind. Maybe he didn't see. He was

hurting -- holding his arm. Boy Oh boy has that opened up the

championship. The final round in Valencia. Before that the jap knees

Grand Prix. Next weekend. We thought it will be all wrapped up

by then. But as we see, anything can happen and it's not over yet.
