Hello and welcome to the BBC sports Centre. Over the next 15 minutes, I

will be taking you through the day 's top stories from the world of

sport. This is Saturday Sportsday. Coming up in the programme: We will

hear from the poster boy of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Michael Jamieson tells us how he is going for gold in his home city. We

go behind the scenes with the only all-female crew at this year 's

round the world yacht race, as they prepare for nine months at sea. And

we will be live in Leeds, as the Rhinos take on Saint Helens. All of

that to come but first, to some of the stories making the headlines

this weekend. Brighton are into the championship

play-off places after beating the overall last night. The defeat

confirms their regulation to league one. Gary Johnson says it is sad but

not a shock. Northampton Saints remain on course for a European and

domestic double. They are second in the premiership and also through to

the final of the challenge cup after beating harlequins last night. --

Harlequins. And Ronnie O'Sullivan resumed his second-round match

against Joe Perry this morning, trailing by 9-7.

It is less than 100 days until is Glasgow hosts the Commonwealth

Games. Michael Jamieson has been counting those days down ever since

winning silver in London. He says the games will be the highlight of

his career to date. For months, a city has strained

under the weight of heavy construction. New venue now dominate

the skyline and old venues have been transformed for track and field. The

Commonwealth games are coming and the clock is ticking. And when the

building stops on the games begin, the people here will put on a

party. The Glaswegians are fiercely proud of their hospitality but they

are also immensely proud of their own local heroes for these games,

there is one name that stands out above the rest. Jameson in for. It

is a fantastic silver medal. In the games in London changed my life. --

the Olympic Games. It has made me enjoy things so much more, enjoy the

process, enjoying the lifestyle of being an athlete. Where will you be?

With this profile comes extra responsibilities. He is one of the

key faces of the games this summer. When people mention Michael

Jamieson, the Commonwealth games, the phase that comes out as the

poster boy. You about poster boy of Glasgow 2014. It has been surreal.

Being an ambassador for the Commonwealth games, I could never

have imagined something like that happening.

But the key focus is going one better than London. He believes he

is now stronger physically and more importantly mentally. It is the

reason why I never won Olympic gold, because I didn't think about winning

Olympic gold until I was in the water. Looking back on it, that

psychological difference is the reason I didn't win. That is what

has changed. Talk us through the Commonwealth capital letter games

dream. -- Commonwealth Games. I am an athlete that loves the big

occasions, the added pressure and expectation. Hearing the crowd in

London, on the last 50, it helps bring you home. I am not sure

spectators really realise the influence they can have. Having this

arena packed to the rafters and to hear the noise could help me to

something that would be pretty special. The poster boy is ready and

this time, he once gold. -- wants.

That pool is hosting its first international event since the London

games. The World Series diving has plenty of 2012 heroes taking part

and getting in some big competition practice before going to Glasgow.

The Aquatics Centre behind me is where London 2012, Tom Daley won

Britain's only limbic diving medal. We have already beaten that total.

Yesterday, this pair won their first medal of the season, claiming

silver. There was more success when this pad claimed bronze in the

final. On Sunday, attention turned to Tom Daley. He is competing in the

ten metre event and taking on David Dyer, the reigning Olympic champion.

It would be amazing to do well in front of the home crowd. It would be

possible to relive the Olympic atmosphere, feeling like things are

coming together. I put in a lot of hard work over the last six months

to try and get to the stage now where I feel like I'm diving well

and feeling good. Hopefully, it will also offer. For updates, keep across

To a group of women on the water, rather than in it, but no less

brave. The crew of team SCA are the only female crew taking part in this

year 's race. The team of 11 girls will sail around the clock for nine

months. It is known as the toughest Ocean

race in the world. 11 women, one boat, nine months, one challenge.

Nobody should underestimate what these girls are going to do. When

we're out there, we only have each other to depend on. You are trusting

them with your life. It is intense. There is rivalry between teams. I

cannot wait to get on at the start line. The Volvo Ocean race for me is

the pinnacle crew around the world event. The opportunity has arisen

with this team for girls to compete on a level playing field with the

guys in the race. I don't think there is a female sailor who is not

aware of what can come from this, and the inspiration we can beat a

future generations of sailors. But only have I never sailed around the

world before, I will not have sailed against most of these guys until we

get out there and start the race. For us, we have something to prove.

This is the first opportunity that women have ever really had in the

Volvo race, or in fact, any big boat race. The last time there was an

all-female crew in this race was 12 years ago but this is the first time

a team has been put together in the same way as an all-male team. There

is no excuse. We know we are getting stronger. We know we are making

fewer mistakes and ultimately, the Volvo race is about who makes the

fewest mistakes. Hopefully, we will eliminate all our mistakes now and

we will be fine for the race. If you're feeling tired or fatigued,

your fellow team-mate can say, come on, let's get this done and it helps

spur you on. It is always worth. You never more than a metre away from

anyone else. I suppose, we have a big goal and that is what drives

you. All of those little things, you've just got to make sure that

they don't take over. Whether someone has left a wet sock in your

bank or not is not as important. You've got to try and manage that.

-- in your bunk bed. If we can get people excited about women being in

this race and we prove a point, we will prove our goal.

Go, girls! There has been a treat for Ronnie O'Sullivan fans in

Sheffield this morning. Just when it looked like the defending champion

might be knocked out in the second round, the rocket came back from

9-7, to beat Joe Perry 13-11 and make it into the quarterfinals. The

rest of the actions on BBC Two from one o'clock. Ronnie knows the

Crucible better than most. He has won a world championship that five

times but what is it really like? We took a peek behind the scenes.

We are backstage at a very crammed, historic Crucible Theatre. The

players wait, locked in their own thoughts, to be introduced. There

are some famous names, real legends of the game is here. They wait for

that introduction and these are the really nervous moments. Then they

will be introduced down his dark corridors, through the famous

curtain. This is the moment when the adrenaline gets pumping. Finally,

you see the crowd. 980 people. You are writing to the Crucible Theatre.

Two tables, one for the final few days, semifinal and final. This is

the view you have. You are sitting in the crowd basically, right next

to the table. You can watch your opponent go about his business. This

is as good as it gets for any snooker.

George just loves the snooker. Saracens are a game away from the

final of European rugby union 's most prestigious trophy. They take

on Claremont this afternoon. Saracens know it is time to deliver.

They lost at the same point last year, one of three semifinal defeats

last season. The important thing is that you get into the semifinals,

you present yourself at the business end of the season. I would much

rather be criticised for losing the odd semifinal, rather than not being

there at all. Consistently, we are getting there. Not just in the

domestic edition, but Europe as well. We will win one of them.

The union isn't getting all the limelight this weekend because rugby

league's challenge cup is into its fifth round. The standout fixture is

live this afternoon as Leeds rhinos take on Saint Helens. Mark Chapman

is getting ready to host what should be a cracking game.

We are very excited about this game this afternoon. We are delighted to

say that the head coach of Leeds Rhinos is with us. It should be a

cracker, shouldn't it? We've been looking forward to this one since we

were drawn out of the bag a few weeks ago. Both teams are in good

form. Saints have found a little bit of a blip recently. When we made the

draw, they were flying and unbeaten. The cliches are that the form goes

out the window but it is true. It is true. They have lost a couple of

games and that was over the space of three days. I think the first eight

games that they have one will have more of a bearing. Your super league

game earlier on in the season was a cracker and it went down to the

final play of the game. We are expecting a game between two of the

best lines in super league, aren't we? Yes, and that is what is

mouthwatering about it. Personally, and for our players, we know that

this is a challenge cup and it is do or die. At the same time, we are

fans of rugby league as well. As soon as we got drawn out of the bag,

we had a smile and we thought, they are flying and we are a strong team.

It should make for a big game. These are the games you want to be

involved in. If you're going to win the challenge cup, if you're going

to get to Wembley, you got to meet big sides on the way. Rarely do you

get the final without meeting a big team. At some stage, you're going to

have to beat them. We are going to meet Saints along the way or even a

final. We are looking forward to it. It will be a big game. It would be a

big crowd. Briefly, what does it mean? You get to Wembley, to the

final, it's been awhile since you've it. People keep saying that. I tried

not to. If you have alluded to the fact we have a negative history with

a cup, he got to get the final first. The fact that we have failed

at the final hurdle recently, I don't think such a big thing. We are

aiming to get there. We don't fear the cup. We know it can be hard if

you don't win it but we are looking forward to it. Thank you for joining
