Hello and welcome to the BBC Sport Centre. | :00:14. | :00:19.
I'm Olly Foster, coming up on Saturday Sportsday we'll be live | :00:20. | :00:22.
at the Tour de Yorkshire as we also reflect on a terrible week | :00:23. | :00:26.
And we meet up with the wheeled Warriors. | :00:27. | :00:38.
But first here are day's headlines so far... | :00:39. | :00:40.
Ding Junhui has equalled the record for centuries scored by one player | :00:41. | :00:43.
in a World Championship match - his sixth helped build a 14-10 | :00:44. | :00:45.
Mark Selby leads Marco Fu in the other semi. | :00:46. | :00:52.
The Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton was quickest | :00:53. | :00:54.
Qualifying for the Russian Grand Prix starts in the next 10 minutes. | :00:55. | :00:58.
the World Squash Championship in Malaysia this morning. | :00:59. | :01:01.
Egypt's Nour El Sherbini beat her by 3 games to 2 in Malaysia, | :01:02. | :01:04.
that also knocked Massaro off the top of the world rankings. | :01:05. | :01:10.
This week Team GB launched their official kit with 100 days to go | :01:11. | :01:14.
to come home with plenty of medals, but this week may have | :01:15. | :01:22.
of sexism and discrimination, British Cycling denied other claims | :01:23. | :01:29.
that they had been selling publicly funded equipment online, | :01:30. | :01:35.
then, one of their stars failed a drugs test - | :01:36. | :01:37.
British cycling has been at the head of the country's sporting peloton, | :01:38. | :01:45.
few saw the bumps in the road approaching. Shane Sutton the | :01:46. | :01:50.
technical director of British cycling has resigned. Simon Yates is | :01:51. | :01:53.
considered a rising star but has failed a drugs test. How did it | :01:54. | :01:59.
start? Let's go back to last Saturday, Jessica Barnett had been | :02:00. | :02:02.
dropped from the British team and accused the Australian Shane Sutton, | :02:03. | :02:07.
the performance director, of sexism, claiming he told her to go and have | :02:08. | :02:12.
You is accused of calling disabled cyclists | :02:13. | :02:31.
gimps. I had heard it on numerous occasions. Later that day he | :02:32. | :02:40.
resigned. He denies accusations but said in a statement, developments | :02:41. | :02:43.
over the past few days have clearly become a distraction and it is for | :02:44. | :02:46.
this reason that I believe it is in the best interests of British | :02:47. | :02:51.
cycling for me to step down as technical director. He wanted the | :02:52. | :02:54.
athletes to succeed and it's the right decision for him to step back | :02:55. | :02:58.
and he made that decision in the best interests of the team, really. | :02:59. | :03:02.
A key part of Britain's Olympic plans was gone, Sutton had been at | :03:03. | :03:07.
the heart of British cycling for 14 years, its golden age. His success | :03:08. | :03:12.
was undoubted, his approach divided opinion. Shane is a no-nonsense guy, | :03:13. | :03:16.
but he was no-nonsense with men and women. It was the way he was and is. | :03:17. | :03:24.
It works for some people and not for others. UK Sport announced an | :03:25. | :03:29.
independent review into all forms of discrimination and bullying in | :03:30. | :03:32.
British cycling, the spotlight is on cycling and it wasn't moving on. On | :03:33. | :03:37.
Thursday UK capital of the sport ordered another investigation, this | :03:38. | :03:41.
time over claims that official kit was sold online, claims denied by | :03:42. | :03:48.
British Cycling. Late on Thursday night reports surfaced that | :03:49. | :03:51.
potential Olympian Simon Yates failed a drugs test, his team blamed | :03:52. | :03:57.
an administrative error over the use of an asthma inhaler. It is news | :03:58. | :04:02.
that British cycling could have done without. With the Olympics less than | :04:03. | :04:07.
100 days away, reddish cycling is looking in on itself. -- British | :04:08. | :04:10.
cycling. Against that backdrop, | :04:11. | :04:12.
the Tour de Yorkshire got underway yesterday 10 of thousands turning | :04:13. | :04:15.
out to cheer on the elite men's road racers and today the women have | :04:16. | :04:18.
raced on the same stage, Tanya Arnold is at the | :04:19. | :04:21.
finish there for us. we really need some positive | :04:22. | :04:30.
headlines around cycling We nearly did, though, Lucy Gardner | :04:31. | :04:43.
was just pipped to the line by Kirsten Wilde from the Netherlands. | :04:44. | :04:51.
Lizzie Armitstead is the world racing champion, she was in the pack | :04:52. | :04:56.
at the end. She talked about her pride in this race and the quality | :04:57. | :05:00.
of the race and said it was a goose pimples moment for her when she left | :05:01. | :05:04.
her home town of Otley this morning on such a prestigious race. That | :05:05. | :05:09.
would have been great for as many people to see as possible but | :05:10. | :05:13.
because of technical difficulties it was not broadcast live on | :05:14. | :05:19.
television? Absolutely awful for the organisers here. They have worked | :05:20. | :05:24.
really, really hard to give the women's race as much of a boost as | :05:25. | :05:29.
possible, a record prize fund of ?15,000 going to the winner, but the | :05:30. | :05:33.
other plank was to get the same coverage as the men's race, to show | :05:34. | :05:39.
the whole race live. But they have had horrible technical difficulties | :05:40. | :05:42.
with the aeroplane that beams pictures back, one of those things | :05:43. | :05:46.
totally out of their control, still working to get it fixed for the | :05:47. | :05:50.
men's race, but Gary Verity from Welcome To Yorkshire who organises | :05:51. | :05:55.
the race was devastated. Many thanks indeed. | :05:56. | :05:58.
The best amateur boxers in England are competing at the National Finals | :05:59. | :06:01.
On the bill for the first time will be a demonstration | :06:02. | :06:05.
It's a new sport that is growing quickly... | :06:06. | :06:11.
The Wheeled Warriors Boxing Organisation is aiming | :06:12. | :06:12.
My name is Paul Rodgers and so on. I am 45 years old. I trained in karate | :06:13. | :06:42.
when I was a teenager and at the age of 207I had an accident which left | :06:43. | :06:47.
me disabled and I started to do a bit of boxing exercises. -- the age | :06:48. | :06:55.
of 27. Most people think that it's an April fools joke, they can't | :06:56. | :06:59.
imagine how it would work, it's more about positioning and agility in the | :07:00. | :07:04.
chair, getting into the right position and range, that is | :07:05. | :07:07.
everything, if you are not in range you will never be able to throw a | :07:08. | :07:11.
punch. Doing it at an elite level fuels the lower level and if we can | :07:12. | :07:15.
get it into the Paralympics it will mean that people locally will be | :07:16. | :07:21.
able to get involved. We have actually built up a report in 18 | :07:22. | :07:25.
countries, and we would like to be an umbrella organisation. That would | :07:26. | :07:31.
bring a stability of equal matching with classifications, so I would say | :07:32. | :07:39.
that we have done the hard work. We just need some more small steps to | :07:40. | :07:43.
get the glory at the end, that is the Paralympics. It is giving | :07:44. | :07:49.
disabled people chance to compete at the same level as able-bodied | :07:50. | :07:52.
people, which you can see in many sports, but boxing I feel has always | :07:53. | :07:57.
been left out. If we feel comfortable with it, then really it | :07:58. | :08:01.
is our right to do that. Look at this sport with your eyes open and a | :08:02. | :08:04.
fresh mind, rather than your eyes closed. And a perspective that has | :08:05. | :08:15.
been put into your head previously. It represents that first milestone | :08:16. | :08:19.
for wheelchair boxing. The fact that I will probably be put the question | :08:20. | :08:25.
in 20 years' time, it will come up time and again, I hope. Good luck to | :08:26. | :08:30.
them, they are fighting tomorrow in Liverpool. | :08:31. | :08:31.
Celtic can win the Scottish Premiership today. They are leading | :08:32. | :08:42.
Hearts 1-0. Selby is still leading Marco Fu 11-10 in Sheffield. From | :08:43. | :08:47.
everyone at the BBC Sport Centre, have a great weekend, whatever sport | :08:48. | :08:49.
you are watching. Goodbye. Gareth Malone is putting together | :08:50. | :09:04.
a choir... Please, come in. | :09:05. | :09:05.
..for the Invictus Games. It's definitely the most vulnerable | :09:06. | :09:08.
group I've ever dealt with. | :09:09. | :09:11. |
