recent decline? I think their performances have been very late

and with that comes Paul results. There is also a lot of pressure for

them to win. Maybe the good thing is that the Welsh players have gone.

Sometimes they take the pressure with them. They can play with a

little bit more freedom and less pressure. There are 80 players

encounter with Wales in Poland. Who are you looking out for to step up

tonight? Tom James and Alex Cuthbert have been the two

outstanding players for Cardiff Blues so far this season. They get

them over the gain line. I think Dan Fish at fullback has got a

great left foot. And then the young back row of Luke Hamilton, Josh

Navidi and Robin Copland. Sean Holley is in our analysis truck as

usual tonight and this Munster team are a side in transition as well.

can't help feeling that passion and desire alone will not be enough

tonight. They need to do the basics well as well. Losing four games at

home, if that is not enough, you have got equality Munster side as

well. No more so than former Cardiff Blues favour, Casey Laulala.

Not only is he Munster's top ball carrier but he is the top offload

player in the league. He uses his body to get away from defenders and

put himself into space. To this quality, it is a real warning sign

for the Blues. They have also got equality back through, including

Felix Jones. And Ronan O'Gara will put them in the right places

on-one tackles. You are scrambling in defence and that is what

happened in Leinster last week. They missed one-on-one tackles,

they won the back foot, and Leinster are such a quality side

they put them to the sword. Butler controls very well indeed at the

base of that scrum. The Blues front row caved in. Ronan O'Gara straight

up there with a word of encouragement for Marcus Horan and

Stephen Archer. A big five minutes for the Blues. They have to hang on

until half-time, seven points is not too bad. The problem they've

had, defensively the of tackle that they've missed... Let's look at

this. They are on the back foot straight away and there's only one

way that is going. Also, they need to get a little bit of a cutting

edge in the opposition 22. Try to bring the Toms in on the wings. Ask

bonus for Munster. He just wanted the Blues to come back at them from

distance, but the ball was built and gives them a late chance to

those. Now they've got to switch-on. With it the previous scrum, Munster

will be looking to really attacked this one. That is the first thing.

Make sure the scrum is shouldered - away one-handed. Tom James read

had the option of a line-out or a scrum. I think the line-out has

done them quite well. Maybe that one scrum where they went back was

a bit of a blip. If you are under pressure, get it out quick. Luke

Hamilton had an excellent season for the Wales Under 20s last season.

Let's have a look at a half times Gareth, Phil Davies talked about

wanting a display containing passion. We've had plenty of

passion from the Blues, but the mistakes are undermining them a bit.

Yes, you can ask for passion but sometimes it has to be a given.

When you play for your region, everybody expects you to play with

passion. Sometimes you have to be intelligent and the Blues have not

been intelligent in the area where they need to be. When you have

Ronan O'Gara on the other side, he is intelligent and that is the

difference. Sean, a Munster on their first real for a into the

Blues 22, came away with the first try. They came up with Keatley and

O'Gara and it has paid dividends in O'Gara and it has paid dividends in

more than one area. The first try in particular. It comes from a set-

piece. They are in motion. As we pointed out, it is a defensive

lapse, but Keatley is through the gap. Watch the Munster forwards

come around the corner, playing the same way. Howlett get that on the

wing and makes yards. Look at this great acclaim. Laulala holds the

ball up and Keatley read the body language. It is a great offload and

a great finish and a deserved try. A great try for Munster and it was

that Keatley break that carved out the defence. Yes. If I'm looking on

the other hand, it was good play by Bunce there, but bad body

positioning by the Blues defence. - - Munster. Giving them gaps in

areas where Laulala will take it to the line. You mentioned Jason Tovey

having a good game. We will come back to you. Sean, two contrasting

styles with the number tens. O'Gara for Munster and Tovey for the Blues.

He has a foil in Ian Keatley and it pays dividends in the kicking game

because it takes the focus off O'Gara. This is very early in the

game and Keatley takes the pressure off O'Gara. The Blues are slightly

out of position and it gives them for territory. The Blues are out of

position again. Tovey has had a good running game, he have sown

confidence with the ball in hand, but his kicking game is lacking in

confidence. Have a look at the philosophy of penalty touch kicks.

In this instance, I feel he needs to get it in the 22. It changes the

mindset of the attacking line-out. Yes, it is a difficult angle, but

he needs to get it in areas where his liner caller can put pressure

on Munster. Fair comments? Yes. On Jason Tovey's defence, he has been

only first receiver for the Blues. He has taken it to the line. To go

for that money kick under pressure, sometimes as a player you want to

just put it into touch and give us the line-out. We mentioned players

to the car for an somebody under the radar for the Blues this season

the staff. I've been impressed with him tonight. I think he's been

intelligent and played really well. His running ability has been second

to none. He has kept his legs pumping. It is a great skill to get

off the floor with two hands and keep going. That is what you would

expect from a fullback, not a number 8. He is looking around, he

is looking for people, he is not selfish. He realises he has made a

break and he has to wait for the rest of the team to get to him.

that has been mooted over the past few months. I went to Ireland in

the week to see how things are done over there, the likes of Brian

O'Driscoll. They have their wages paid by the Irish Rugby Union.

Given the fact that our Test players are away for so long during

the season, is that a viable solution for Wales? I feel at this

moment, because Wales of victims of their own success, we are saying

because the big clubs from France and England are coming in for the

good players, we have to keep them. Maybe it is a little too late.

There's a big reason why Irish players stay in Ireland, for tax

reasons. They are not just staying there because they are committed,

but financially they will get a reward. If we don't financially

reward players, it is a short career. You have to step in and

make sure they will fund their players. Let's get a coach's

perspective. What do you think about the idea of central contracts

in Wales? We play so many different competitions in Wales that the

coaches don't know whether they are coming and going. I spoke to the

Munster coaching staff today, they know when their players are with

them and not with them. They don't have any pressure in a third

competition. It is very, very difficult. When do we have our

players? The regions have to stump up the cash for when the players

are a way. We have to revolve down that side if we are to get the best

It has been entertaining. The Blues have made quite a few mistakes,

handling errors, and things like that but it is a young team. They

have got to keep working hard and if they can get a couple of tries

and get ahead, I think they will win. But it is difficult. Phil

Davies's position, you know him pretty well, how do you see his

position here? He has got to keep working hard. He has put systems in

place and he needs them to start working for him. More than anything,

he probably needs a Tighthead for Christmas. What sort of timescale

are we looking at? He is early in the season so far. Let's look again

in March, let's see how things are, and if some of these players can

come through, Dan Fish has come through wonderfully this season,

and we start winning, we will say what a wonderful job he has done.

gain line and give his forwards something to drive onto. Paddy

Butler was there in support. Gavin Evans. Trying to free his hands

behind the attack left. There is no need to throw the miracle ball. If

it is not on, hold on to it. They have been on this Munster 22 for

the last minute or so. Hamilton in they have got to take it at the

guts and little bit. Robin Copeland. Casey Laulala with the tackle. They

are going backwards now. They have not penetrated yet. Jason Tovey.

Dan Fish. Ian Keatley brings him down. Number 11 has got to be

Jason Tovey thinks the injury to Tom Williams may require a change

in the original plans. He hoped it would have but it has not. His game

is done. That is an early substitution. Ceri Sweeney is very

much another gain-line player. and get it out. That is what the

Cardiff Blues need to do. Williams has come in because there

is no Blindside to use. Get it out quick. They did just enough. And

because davit Hewett on the angle. That is the try that Cardiff Blues

were looking for. They did enough to get the ball away from the scrum

and both centres came streaming down on the angle. Just watch,
