Good evening. Two more quarterfinal places you for grabs at the 2016 | :00:30. | :00:37.
Welsh Open and it has been a mixed day for Wales. One rising star | :00:38. | :00:43.
through to the last eight while the veteran Mark Williams is on his way | :00:44. | :00:47.
home. Mark Selby was pushed all the way by home favourite Williams, but | :00:48. | :00:51.
two centuries and three frames helped the number one confirm his | :00:52. | :00:56.
play in the quarterfinal. APPLAUSE | :00:57. | :00:59.
I'm really happy. The start of the match was a little bit edgy, but | :01:00. | :01:05.
when I won the second frame. Overall I thought it was a really good | :01:06. | :01:13.
match. Next up for the Leicester from jester, old time add | :01:14. | :01:21.
certificate sari, Ronnie O'Sullivan -- adversary. | :01:22. | :01:26.
It could have been a different match. It is what I do when a player | :01:27. | :01:32.
does that. Can I hold on to him? I'm not sure I have got the hardened | :01:33. | :01:36.
match play background behind me yet to mix it, but who knows? I'm just | :01:37. | :01:42.
trying my best every match and I played four really good frames and | :01:43. | :01:46.
the frames that I won. John Higgins is out. Suffering a 4-1 defeat to | :01:47. | :01:58.
Mike ale Human Right -- Michael White. | :01:59. | :02:03.
It is up there with the best wins of my career. Very relaxed I was today. | :02:04. | :02:07.
I don't know why that was. I felt that way since I got out of bed this | :02:08. | :02:11.
morning. I went out there and I tried to enjoy it. And luckily for | :02:12. | :02:19.
me, I came out on top. So here is the last 16: | :02:20. | :02:28.
Neil Robertson with a 4-1 win over Marco Fu. Ronnie O'Sullivan with | :02:29. | :02:39.
that 4-1 win over Yu Delu. Martin Gould beaten 4-1 by last year's | :02:40. | :02:44.
runner-up, Ben Woollaston. We have had another absorbing | :02:45. | :02:59.
afternoon of snooker in Cardiff. Mixed emotions with Mark Williams | :03:00. | :03:03.
going out of the competition this afternoon, but what an achievement | :03:04. | :03:08.
for Michael White. How do you sum that up? He played very well last | :03:09. | :03:15.
night. He is playing some of his best snooker here and he is | :03:16. | :03:18.
definitely going to win the tournament! You've got your money on | :03:19. | :03:22.
him. We heard Ronnie O'Sullivan bigging him up and saying he is a | :03:23. | :03:26.
future champion in Whales. He has got everything he needs. Would you | :03:27. | :03:30.
agree with that? Can he go all the way? Very much so. I have known him | :03:31. | :03:35.
since he was a young lad. The one thing he has got is a winner. He is | :03:36. | :03:39.
that type of person and he worked very hard on his gim. He practises a | :03:40. | :03:43.
lot, you know, and he is a modern day player. He goes for the shot. He | :03:44. | :03:49.
commits himself to everything. Fully commits irrespective of what is | :03:50. | :03:52.
happening and when he is on his best game he is a handful for anybody. | :03:53. | :03:57.
Mark Williams disappointment for him, but he came up against Mark | :03:58. | :04:01.
Selby in inspired form? Well, Mark didn't play as well as yesterday, | :04:02. | :04:08.
but a few people told me he did play OK today, but Mark Selby is a tough | :04:09. | :04:14.
opponent for anybody. Ronnie O'Sullivan, another snooker | :04:15. | :04:14.
He is up against a man who plays his own brand of naughty snooker. Four | :04:15. | :06:53.
titles to his name. One of the most talented players in the world of | :06:54. | :06:58.
snooker. Make some noise for the incredible Judd Trump. | :06:59. | :07:09.
APPLAUSE The two players are out. Our team | :07:10. | :07:21.
calling the action is Iain Watson and Dominic Dale. A fantastic | :07:22. | :07:29.
occasion that both players had. There is a quarterfinal place on | :07:30. | :07:35.
offer. Not much to choose between both players really. Judd Trump, | :07:36. | :07:42.
ranked sixth in the world and Joe Perry ranked tenth. There is only | :07:43. | :07:46.
four spots between them. What is quite interesting is on five | :07:47. | :07:54.
previous appearances playing together, Judd Trump has been the | :07:55. | :07:58.
winner on all five. So Joe Perry will have a point to prove tonight, | :07:59. | :08:09.
I'm sure. Do Marks, what are you -- Do Marks, what are you thinking on | :08:10. | :08:14.
this one. Best of seven. Who are you going to go with? Well, it is | :08:15. | :08:17.
difficult to choose really. There is lots to play for this evening, a | :08:18. | :08:21.
quarterfinal place, I'm sure Joe Perry won't be phased by the fact | :08:22. | :08:27.
that he hasn't beaten Judd Trump in five previous meetings. Four of them | :08:28. | :08:32.
were over the best of seven encounters. So you could read | :08:33. | :08:38.
something into that and if Joe starts badly, he might think about | :08:39. | :08:45.
the fact that he hasn't beaten Judd Trump before. He will know today is | :08:46. | :08:49.
a new day with another opportunity to get one over on Judd Trump. | :08:50. | :09:07.
He is going to get his little extension. He is a very tall lad, | :09:08. | :09:14.
Joe Perry. He is very well liked on the circuit. He is a real nice | :09:15. | :09:19.
fella. That cue ball has just gone away | :09:20. | :09:34.
from him. This will be Joe Perry's first match on this match table. He | :09:35. | :09:40.
played on the back tables. They will have played a lot different. This | :09:41. | :09:51.
match table will play again different to the others. I don't | :09:52. | :09:55.
know why that quite is. The same sort of lights of the same heating | :09:56. | :10:03.
system on there, but this table is definitely playing faster than the | :10:04. | :10:09.
rest. Yes, we just saw a brief glimpse of the set-up. The other | :10:10. | :10:13.
table isn't being used at the moment, but it was earlier. I have | :10:14. | :10:17.
noticed strangely enough that the other table to our left here at the | :10:18. | :10:20.
commentary box, the cushions don't seem to be as quick as they are on | :10:21. | :10:25.
this table here, table one, the main match table, I suppose, we could | :10:26. | :10:30.
call it. I'm sure the cloth has come off the same roll. The only reason I | :10:31. | :10:37.
can think of why two tables would play slightly differently all the | :10:38. | :10:43.
other tables that we have been using in the Welsh Open, they are in close | :10:44. | :10:47.
proximity to each other and there is the television tables and there is a | :10:48. | :10:52.
lot of room behind it and there is light canopies above causing a lot | :10:53. | :10:56.
of heat, but you know, yourself, Darren, you've played out there on | :10:57. | :11:01.
the big stage for many years in your career, the television table always | :11:02. | :11:03.
plays fantastically well, doesn't it? Yes, it does and... Watching at | :11:04. | :11:14.
home members of my club and that, they see balls going in in-off the | :11:15. | :11:19.
knuckles and they think the pockets are big, but they're not. They are | :11:20. | :11:24.
very, very tight, it is just because the leathers in the pockets are so | :11:25. | :11:30.
crisp and bright. It gives you that assumption that the pockets are | :11:31. | :11:36.
bigger, but really, really tight. They are beautiful tables to play | :11:37. | :11:37.
on. In the club, sometimes, even though | :11:38. | :11:53.
you're playing snooker, you need a golf ball to get it around -- golf | :11:54. | :11:55.
club to get it around. Well, if Joe had of studied those | :11:56. | :12:29.
reds that he made contact with he might have known this was going near | :12:30. | :12:32.
the right corner, but it is covered by the other red above it, but I | :12:33. | :12:37.
think Joe can still pot this off the cushion. Too thin. | :12:38. | :12:47.
A chance for Joe Perry here. If he can get on the black, on the low | :12:48. | :12:52.
side, he maybe able to get into the red. That's what he'd like to do. | :12:53. | :13:02.
Well, maybe he can actually get through to the red that's on the | :13:03. | :13:06.
plaque spot now. The problem is he would have to tread a path for a | :13:07. | :13:11.
colour. The first real opportunity to Joe | :13:12. | :13:36.
Perry then. We have seen some wonderful snooker | :13:37. | :13:41.
this week here at this Welsh Open. A capacity crowd in tonight. | :13:42. | :14:00.
They are all hoping to see something a little bit special and wonderful. | :14:01. | :14:11.
Two people in particular, Ricky Coles and bethen are celebrating | :14:12. | :14:14.
their third wedding anniversary tonight and they've come to watch | :14:15. | :14:20.
snooker! I hope she is the avid fan otherwise he could be in the dog | :14:21. | :14:23.
house! Third anniversary, coming to see a | :14:24. | :14:31.
snooker match. Well, he missed that by a long way, Joe Perry. | :14:32. | :14:52.
That's OK. He just sort of give it a bit of a smash and hoped for the | :14:53. | :15:05.
best, but it has finished very good on this yellow. Yes, Darren that's | :15:06. | :15:12.
why I love watching Judd Trump, you never quite know what he's going to | :15:13. | :15:16.
play next. I think he and Ronnie O'Sullivan are two of the game's | :15:17. | :15:21.
most exciting players, but I would have to say Ronnie O'Sullivan oozes | :15:22. | :15:27.
class and Judd, well, he plays sort of a cross between snooker and | :15:28. | :15:37.
9-ball pool. I as a fellow professional love watching and love | :15:38. | :15:48.
playing against him. Yes, I think it is fair to say that Judd Trump is | :15:49. | :15:54.
probably, without being cruel to anybody else, he is the only other | :15:55. | :16:00.
person to rival Ronnie O'Sullivan in the excitement stakes. There are new | :16:01. | :16:10.
players coming along. He has carved a niche for himself as well, the | :16:11. | :16:16.
same as Ronnie. Obviously not quite as consistent as Ronnie has been | :16:17. | :16:20.
over the years and quite as prolific, but when he's on his game, | :16:21. | :16:27.
they don't come any better than Judd Trump. | :16:28. | :16:55.
We can see the ball jump there. Judd hasn't got a choice, he has one into | :16:56. | :17:02.
the centre and one into the right corner. Maybe, he will be able to | :17:03. | :17:14.
hold for the pink off this red. Yes, he played it well. If he goes on to | :17:15. | :17:21.
win this first frame, Judd, from this opportunity, I think Joe Perry | :17:22. | :17:22.
will rue that easy missed red. That brown is in the way for him | :17:23. | :18:19.
just to stun past for this red down towards the green. He played a | :18:20. | :18:31.
clever controlled cannon. He made it a little bit more difficult than the | :18:32. | :18:40.
shot should have been. That was well played. | :18:41. | :18:51.
He is dead straight on this pink, Judd. He really did control that one | :18:52. | :18:57.
well. Sometimes being dead straight on your next ball isn't ideal, but I | :18:58. | :19:02.
think he will be all right in this case. Normally I'd say Judd doesn't | :19:03. | :19:12.
have the cue ball control of a lot of the top players and certainly not | :19:13. | :19:18.
Ronnie O'Sullivan or Marco Fu whose cue ball control is normally | :19:19. | :19:22.
fantastic, but he pots so well. That's his biggest ally. | :19:23. | :20:04.
APPLAUSE That black for the frame ball for Judd. It is a short sprint | :20:05. | :20:27.
to the best of seven. He goes to 69. A chance of a century | :20:28. | :20:34.
in the first frame here. The difficulty for Judd is a ball that | :20:35. | :20:37.
he himself knocked to that side cushion earlier on in the break. | :20:38. | :20:42.
This is the red that Joe missed. Trying to force the angel across to | :20:43. | :20:45.
cannon the red to leave himself on the black. He seemed rather bemused | :20:46. | :20:53.
when he missed that red, Joe Perry, but as Judd misses that pink, he | :20:54. | :21:00.
won't worry that. Judd Trump leads by 1-0. | :21:01. | :21:03.
A solid start by Judd Trump, Terry. He is one of the few modern stars of | :21:04. | :21:10.
the game, I suppose, not to have got his hands on the Welsh Open trophy, | :21:11. | :21:15.
is he playing well enough to go all the way, do you think? I remember | :21:16. | :21:20.
him coming to the Welsh Open, his first appearance in a venue and he | :21:21. | :21:24.
came up from Bristol into Newport, he came up at 12 o'clock and I said, | :21:25. | :21:30.
"When are you on?" He said seven o'clock and I didn't say to him, he | :21:31. | :21:35.
shouldn't have come so early, he was so excited, he lost anyway. He is an | :21:36. | :21:38.
exceptional player. I've got to say that. He hasn't won a lot of ranking | :21:39. | :21:43.
events, he won the UK Championships, which is one of the majors, but I | :21:44. | :21:50.
feel he should be winning more with the skill level he won. It has been | :21:51. | :21:54.
a couple of years since he won one? It is the big ones that he really | :21:55. | :21:59.
wants, the World Championships, the Masters. He had a wonderful | :22:00. | :22:04.
performance against Mark Allen a number of years ago, it was a great | :22:05. | :22:08.
match. He hasn't pushed on from there and I feel that he should be | :22:09. | :22:13.
pushing on to be honest. He is very attractive to watch playing, but he | :22:14. | :22:17.
has got a lovely demeanour around the table, but his potting is just | :22:18. | :22:22.
outstanding and his control of the cue ball. I think the power that he | :22:23. | :22:26.
has got is as good as anybody I have ever seen. Some attractive shoes on | :22:27. | :22:30.
tonight, as well, Judd Trump, but it is Joe Perry to break in this second | :22:31. | :22:34.
frame with Trump leading 1-0. The wrong side of the blue. So there | :22:35. | :24:47.
is still a bit of work to be done. He has got a red near to this right | :24:48. | :24:54.
corner, so he doesn't fancy going out of the baulk area. He will just | :24:55. | :25:00.
play a drag back and roll the red down the cushion. Judd Trump is | :25:01. | :25:05.
blessed with an abundance of cue power. He is having a little look. | :25:06. | :25:22.
He feels the ball is close enough to the corner pocket. Be unmissable and | :25:23. | :25:34.
again, he doesn't lack power. If this black doesn't go up the left | :25:35. | :25:39.
corner, he will be doing a deep screw. | :25:40. | :25:46.
Well, he tried to drag up for the blue and he hasn't quite got into | :25:47. | :25:49.
it. I didn't detect a kick, but I think | :25:50. | :26:02.
Judd was rather surprised he didn't get more out of that. This is what I | :26:03. | :26:09.
say about Judd, he doesn't control the cue ball as well as other top | :26:10. | :26:16.
players do. He pots so well. He covers so many of the awkward | :26:17. | :26:20.
situations he leaves himself in, unfortunately it is just the safety | :26:21. | :26:25.
shot. It will end at 32, but a useful lead nevertheless. | :26:26. | :26:49.
APPLAUSE He is keeping the pressure on Joe Perry. The only shot Joe has | :26:50. | :26:59.
got here is to play the red to the right of the black. | :27:00. | :27:12.
He pushed this red down the table. It is a thin snick, but I think Judd | :27:13. | :27:26.
can get the pot in. It is very thin mind. No problem whatsoever. | :27:27. | :27:37.
APPLAUSE Just overran for the pink there, | :27:38. | :27:54.
Judd. I suppose he could find his way back on to a red using the pink, | :27:55. | :28:00.
but he could cannon the red below and hold for a choice of reds in | :28:01. | :28:04.
either corner. He has come back to look at the pink. He will probably | :28:05. | :28:07.
play for red. What's he going to play here, I wonder? | :28:08. | :28:16.
He leaves this to run. It is running. It's running. It has done | :28:17. | :28:21.
well. That's an excellent shot from Judd. Beautifully judged. | :28:22. | :28:28.
APPLAUSE Getting the long tackle out. He has | :28:29. | :28:50.
got to make sure of the pot on the black. It will cannon on to the red. | :28:51. | :28:55.
It should leave him nicely on the one nearest the pocket. Like a | :28:56. | :29:11.
fishing rod now. It is that long. Years ago, we didn't have these | :29:12. | :29:19.
extensions. We used to have the real old stuff with like 11, 12 Marks il | :29:20. | :29:27.
tip on the end. You had to chalk it to make sure you didn't miscue. It | :29:28. | :29:31.
is amazing how things have come on. An extended spider then that was. | :29:32. | :29:36.
You would have had to climb on the table years ago. Both feet off the | :29:37. | :29:39.
ground. Yeah, in the old days with the old | :29:40. | :29:58.
light shades with the canopies above the table which were only | :29:59. | :30:02.
two-and-a-half feet from the bed and when you played a shot with the | :30:03. | :30:06.
spider, you were so elevated that you couldn't see through the shade | :30:07. | :30:10.
the shot you were playing, but we did away with the long butt and the | :30:11. | :30:16.
half butt, it must be three years ago I would have thought. World | :30:17. | :30:25.
Snooker our governing body ensures every has joints in their accuse to | :30:26. | :30:33.
take extensions. They were never in use so they did away with them. | :30:34. | :30:40.
He must have had a bit of a kick there. But it does not look like it | :30:41. | :30:50.
on the replay. Expected the cue ball to have travelled through a little | :30:51. | :30:56.
bit further. He is a long way behind. There is more than enough | :30:57. | :30:59.
left on the table. Trouble is, he has not had much | :31:00. | :31:20.
table time. And the last time he had a pot, he missed it. And it was | :31:21. | :31:33.
very, very easy. That's a great shot by Joe Perry. Importing that, he | :31:34. | :31:41.
will have forgotten the one he missed in the previous frame. -- in | :31:42. | :31:45.
potting that. It is a very good chance this, for | :31:46. | :32:17.
Joe. In potting this one, he will clear the pink into the corner. The | :32:18. | :32:26.
only awkward red is the one near this corner. But with the black on | :32:27. | :32:33.
its spot, it should not be that much of a problem. | :32:34. | :33:13.
This is going to be the shot. If this goes in and he gets on the | :33:14. | :33:19.
black, you can say this has turned into a real frame-winning chance. | :33:20. | :33:25.
And he has played it very confidently. | :33:26. | :34:08.
The work will begin for Joe Perry shortly. He needs a good angle to | :34:09. | :34:16.
get onto the yellow. He could screw back for the blue. Sticking with the | :34:17. | :34:27.
pink. This looks a bit straight. He does not want to be on the blue side | :34:28. | :34:31.
of the yellow, because importing it, he will probably cannon the green. | :34:32. | :34:37.
He wants to be as straight as he can to screw back behind the green. | :34:38. | :34:44.
That cannon on the blue, I don't think that is a problem. | :34:45. | :34:54.
Depends how straight he is on the yellow. Perfect. | :34:55. | :35:21.
He cued that very well. Awkward cueing over the blue. That is the | :35:22. | :35:30.
problem with this green. Pressure on this one. | :35:31. | :35:42.
Again, just floated it in. This has been a real good effort from Joe | :35:43. | :35:55.
Perry. He will be feeling so much better inside. | :35:56. | :36:08.
Judd Trump, he knows this frame should have been his. | :36:09. | :36:21.
What a fantastic break of 70 that was by Joe Perry. It looked as if | :36:22. | :36:30.
Joe Trump was going to take a 2-0 lead. But it is now all square. | :36:31. | :36:43.
Well, this missed black, he will be sitting there thinking, how did I | :36:44. | :36:47.
miss that? It was the previous shot, really. Should have been a lot | :36:48. | :36:52.
easier on this black. Was there a slight kick? It does not appear so. | :36:53. | :37:03.
But he has missed it while long way. Judging by his demeanour, he did not | :37:04. | :37:07.
cannon the red he was intending to, he either knew he had misjudged it | :37:08. | :37:14.
straightaway or it was a kick. I think we will just have to say it | :37:15. | :37:19.
was not one of his best shots. As for Joe Perry, he did not show any | :37:20. | :37:26.
signs of making a break like that, going on the first frame, when he | :37:27. | :37:30.
missed so many pots. And that will really fill him with confidence. | :37:31. | :37:34.
Interesting match we have got here now. Yes, that is one thing you have | :37:35. | :37:47.
to say about Joe Perry - he does not lack bottle. He stroked in a lovely | :37:48. | :37:55.
green which could have gone wrong. REFEREE: Foul, and a miss. Joe | :37:56. | :39:20.
Perry, four. That was such a hard shot for him to | :39:21. | :39:29.
attempt. He merely fluked that one. But he | :39:30. | :39:56.
came right across it. A lot of movement there. He put his shoulder | :39:57. | :39:59.
into that one. I'm sure Judd is now thinking of | :40:00. | :40:26.
getting high side on the blue, in order to go into the reds. He | :40:27. | :40:33.
normally hits these harder than just about every other professional on | :40:34. | :40:36.
the tour. Let's see how hard he hits this one... Yes. Bludgeoned. | :40:37. | :40:44.
You're right, Nick. He does hit them hard. He will settle for that. And | :40:45. | :41:08.
he freed up the black, all in one. He has got to hit the pink foot in | :41:09. | :41:13.
the face when playing it at pace, like that. -- full in the face. | :41:14. | :43:10.
One thing is for certain - he has not let the disappointment of the | :43:11. | :43:24.
last frame get him down. This has been very confident indeed. He has a | :43:25. | :43:30.
couple of choices of reds here. Well... Everything was going so well | :43:31. | :43:50.
and looking so good. That is all because he was concentrating on the | :43:51. | :43:56.
cannon with the black. Just took his eyes off the red. | :43:57. | :44:15.
Fortunately this time for Judd, he has not left his opponent an easy | :44:16. | :44:29.
red. But if Joe does get an opportunity, given the position of | :44:30. | :44:33.
the reds at the moment, it would be similar to the task which he faced | :44:34. | :44:34.
in the last frame. And here is that chance. Another | :44:35. | :44:43.
safety error from Joe has had a bit of a smile. I | :44:44. | :45:02.
think he has but a chance of a red, but it is not the one he was hoping | :45:03. | :45:04.
to be able to play. Judd has been very fortunate here, I | :45:05. | :45:30.
think. You would have thought he had left his opponent right in amongst | :45:31. | :45:32.
them. He is looking at the thin red down | :45:33. | :46:03.
the cush. This must be really tight. The one to the right of the pink I | :46:04. | :46:13.
think definitely does go. But he obviously does not like that option. | :46:14. | :46:18.
He would have to screw back for the blue off it. | :46:19. | :46:27.
Good effort. You have to consider with where Judd left the cue ball, | :46:28. | :46:39.
that he left nothing easy on. That is quite unbelievable. He | :46:40. | :47:03.
played the worst safety shot you could possibly imagine and he has | :47:04. | :47:07.
got away with it. The very next shot, he is smack in amongst the | :47:08. | :47:10.
balls himself. Very fortunate, it has to be said. | :47:11. | :47:30.
It is incredible how many little half kicks there are out there at | :47:31. | :47:41.
the moment. Nearly every shot. There is another one. Short on the blue. | :47:42. | :47:49.
But just needs the blue and one more red to take a 2-1 lead. And that one | :47:50. | :47:59.
has rebounded rather quickly. This is frame ball. | :48:00. | :48:25.
Well, it will not matter about the red. The break of 35, in combination | :48:26. | :49:28.
with his earlier 46, takes him into a 2-1 lead. | :49:29. | :49:33.
We thought earlier, Terry, that when Trump missed a red but it might | :49:34. | :49:47.
prove crucial. Yes, he played a safety shot very badly, and covered | :49:48. | :49:52.
about four different pots. Joe missed the red, and Judd Trump went | :49:53. | :50:00.
on to win it. But he is always pressurising his opponent, you have | :50:01. | :50:03.
to say that. He is more aggressive than most of the players on the | :50:04. | :50:07.
circuit, Judd Trump. And that in itself puts you under pressure. You | :50:08. | :50:11.
feel you cannot leave him anything because he will go for it. And on | :50:12. | :50:15.
his day, he gets most of them. And he is a cool customer as well. His | :50:16. | :50:19.
face does not portray too much emotion. Whereas if we could see Joe | :50:20. | :50:23.
Perry at the moment, shaking his head. He will be a bit annoyed with | :50:24. | :50:30.
himself? Yes, Joe has been around for a while. He has got a few mental | :50:31. | :50:36.
scars, like all the players. But Judd has just got a presence out in | :50:37. | :50:41.
the arena, for somebody so young. He has just got that. The way he walks | :50:42. | :50:46.
around the table. He does not show much expression. The shots he plays, | :50:47. | :50:52.
the exceptional clearances he does. He is very, very exciting to watch. | :50:53. | :50:58.
Even for the professional players, he is different. We had him in the | :50:59. | :51:03.
studio a couple of days ago and said, it has been a couple of years | :51:04. | :51:06.
since you have listed a ranking title. Do you feel the pressure? No, | :51:07. | :51:12.
not at all, he said. I will win one sooner rather than later. Joe Perry | :51:13. | :51:16.
has perhaps gone under the radar slightly this week. But he is a guy | :51:17. | :51:21.
who is inside the top ten, he knows his way around? He has had a very | :51:22. | :51:26.
good few years now, Joe. He has had his ups and downs. He has been in | :51:27. | :51:32.
the top 16 many times, and out again. But he has been having some | :51:33. | :51:38.
really good results. He won the PTC, ?100,000 prize, which will have | :51:39. | :51:45.
helped his confidence. Outcomes Judd Trump, with that hard to read | :51:46. | :51:47.
expression! Leading 2-1. So, Joe Perry trying to level the | :51:48. | :51:57.
match up. This time, Judd Trump does not pot | :51:58. | :52:19.
Joe Perry 's break. It was very similar red. | :52:20. | :52:32.
Instantly now, the top players, this is quite good pack to go into, from | :52:33. | :52:43.
the black. Push the cue ball through. He knows he has got a red | :52:44. | :52:49.
up by the blue. Should it be necessary. That is the shot he has | :52:50. | :52:55.
played. He has played it very well. The referee just asking for a moment | :52:56. | :53:40.
to replace the pink, which will have to go behind its own spot in a | :53:41. | :53:43.
direct line with the top cushion. Joe has left an angle here to go | :53:44. | :54:01.
into the bunch of reds. The problem is, I can see two reds which could | :54:02. | :54:04.
go dangerously near the corner pocket. I don't know if Joe has seen | :54:05. | :54:08.
that. Whether he will not bother going into the reds. Here it is...! | :54:09. | :54:14.
Goodness me! It is all right now though. | :54:15. | :54:36.
It seems to me you just cannot play the ball with any pace, otherwise | :54:37. | :54:45.
you're getting a kick was some kind of kick effect. I don't know if it | :54:46. | :54:46.
is static or what it is. He is getting the long tackle out | :54:47. | :55:08.
again. If the red was not so close to the middle pocket, he would be | :55:09. | :55:11.
able to just play this as a normal shot. This always makes it a bit | :55:12. | :55:18.
more hard, even though the red is close to the corner pocket. | :55:19. | :55:32.
You would have to say, the reds are in perfect position now. Joe Perry | :55:33. | :55:45.
will be very upset with himself if he does not make a winning | :55:46. | :55:51.
contribution from here. Certainly he should put himself in a very, very | :55:52. | :55:52.
good position. All about this shot. He is taking these very nicely. He | :55:53. | :57:24.
is a lovely cubist. But again, he played that with a little bit of | :57:25. | :57:32.
pace. And once again, the ball lifted off the bed of the table. He | :57:33. | :57:42.
is a lovely cueist. But look at that bounce again there. He will be | :57:43. | :57:53.
expecting to win this frame now with this visit. | :57:54. | :58:34.
STUDIO: We have reached the end of our allotted time. , but you will be | :58:35. | :58:40.
