What is it about a name? It defines us. It makes us who we are. Names in

a hat. The luck of the draw. Leading to a name and we all know, we all

dream of holding aloft the Scottish Cup. Yesterday, a chance to make a

name for yourself. COMMENTATOR: Goes for goal and finds it, what an upset

in the Scottish Cup. Today, the two biggest names in the Scottish Cup

enter the fray. Will either's name be on the trophy again this year?

The last two years have seen two new names, two new winners.

That will win the cup for St Johnstone! This is history right

here, right now. But all the names that have gone down in history, it's

time for history to be written once more. Its name: the Scottish Cup.

Good evening and welcome to Sportscene. Day three of the William

Hill Scottish Cup fourth round weekend. Celtic and Rangers both up

against a relative minnows today. Would the form book prevail or could

the magic of the cup unveil a shock or two? The usual hocus-pocus, or

perhaps even some match focus from studio guests Pat Nevin and Stuart

McCall tonight. We start in Stranraer were Celtic travelled

south to play the League 1 side. The match was delayed due to flares

being thrown on the pitch by Celtic fans and the incident will be

reviewed by police tomorrow, along with reports of sectarian chanting.

Celtic going a bit off the beaten track today as they continue their

bid for a domestic clean sweep. This is just there third visit to

Stranraer all told, is just there third visit to

expect the third tier side to bother the best team in the country. But

Friday just passed was the 10th anniversary of one of the greatest

Scottish Cup shocks of all time when Gordon Strachan's Celtic went down

2-1 at Clyde, a timely reminder that accidents do happen. That outcome

today is simply unthinkable for Ronny Deila. Brian Reid is happy to

name the same side that defeated a united last time out with the

exception of teenage goalkeeper Max Currie, who replaced the injured

David McGurn in that match and does so again today. Paul Kenny played in

the semis with Hibs three seasons ago, top scorer Craig Malcolm leads

the line -- Paul Cairney. There is changing goalkeeper for Celtic,

Logan Bailly making his second appearance for the suspended Craig

Gordon. Carlton Cole scored for The Hammers against Everton in the

endless FA Cup a year ago. Leigh Griffiths starts for the first time

since the end of November. Celtic eyes fluttering at the treble, their

eye. There was no way that Tierney was going to win this ball,

Everton in the English FA Cup a year ago has scored at Stair Park, and it

is Stranraer 0- two Celtic. And it looks as though the Scottish

champions are marching through to round five.

Here is Cairney, who loses it to Stefan Johannesson. Stefan

Johannesson with a mazy run and that might just creep in. At for the

intervention it really would have done. Robertson just about got

there. That's Cole! And that's Currie again. It was spectacular

from Cole but only after the run from Stefan Johannesson which looked

like it would give Celtic zero lead. Good run. The Stranraer defence

parted like the red Sea. -- 3-0 lead. Robertson somehow managed to

scoop it away. I think he would have taken a 2- 0/2-time lead before a

ball was kicked today. What about that for an effort from Griffiths?

Brilliant effort, equalled by the save from Currie. This came out of

nowhere. Griffiths with the scissors volley. And Max Currie, as he has

been for a lot of today, was equal to it, it was a spectacular effort

from Griffiths. They are going to have a corner here. In by Longworth.

. It is won by Bell. He has just managed to save it on the line,

Bailly. It looked to have just crept underneath him. The corner came in

well, headed towards goal, and a little bit of indecision. Logan

Bailly, so close receiving it. Celtic have done no worse than the

quarterfinal of this competition in eight of the last nine seasons and

they are well on course here. Scott Allan can make absolutely sure.

always tough in this stage of the cup against an opponent full of

STUDIO: Not quite the walk in a muddy park for Celtic but pretty

comfortable in the end. And a real opportunity for Ronny Deila to play

this for 4-2 formation. It got results. Certainly did, good to get

Carlton Cole up and running, he needed a game. Griffiths and him had

a bit of a linkup at times, but it will take time for him to blend in.

I think in home games recently 0-0 against Kilmarnock, scored a late

goal against Partick Thistle and one against Motherwell, the fans have

been craving two strikers. It's not always as plus that because you

sometimes give up dominating the middle of the park. He could also

play a diamond and Ronny Deila might think of different things at home.

As well as it went today and as successful as it was I can't see him

going with that on a regular basis because in the middle of the park it

is a key area up against better sites. We will look at Carlton Cole

in a moment but 22 goals for Leigh Griffiths this season, Ronny Deila

describes him as a dream strike and he looks like a could score in his

sleep. This is class, McGregor, one touch,

volley. Did anyone think that wasn't going in the back of the net? He

says thank you to is Nir Bitton. Almost unmissable. He will be the

first or last of the forward to do that. Players like John Hartson

before him, they have done that. That is the first one. Lasted 68

minutes, that was the most important thing. Would you say the defender in

that situation as to be stronger? Once it is put up there, great ball

by Nir Bitton. In the end, he has towered above him. What a day for

young Max Curry, for Stranraer. I have known him since he was 15. I'm

sure he would relish it. He was at Motherwell. As a kid. Today, the

school could have been worse. This is brilliant from Leigh Griffiths.

That is what Max has come a great agility, good composure. Read it

well, narrows the angle. Deserve the Man of the Match. Should really

square it there, but he reads it and covers well. Disappointed to lose

three goals, but covered himself in glory. Not the biggest goalkeeper.

People have him down as six one, but he has great agility. He will enjoy

a good run in the side. Next we are off to Ibrox, Rangers up against the

B side they beat three times out of four last season, the other game was

a draw. For the first time since the 1950s,

Rangers absent from six straight Scottish Cup finals. Over a century

since the Ibrox club failed to appear in seven consecutive finals.

Cowdenbeath have not reached the final of this competition. A place

in the last eight the best they achieved. Two changes from the side

that won 6-0 at Dumbarton. Dominic Ball comes in. Gedion Zelalem comes

in for Nicky Law. Chris Kane drops onto the bench for Cowdenbeath.

Tavernier guides it through. Could block from Callaghan. Rangers again

played across. Goes as far as Waghorn. Tries the curling shot. Not

too far-away. Good play from Rangers, Donaldson getting as much

on it as he could. Waghorn working himself free. Fairly functional from

on similar, here is Lee Wallace. Left footed. Rangers get the lead,

18 and a half minutes gone, comes from the skipper Lee Wallace. He is

the those in native left full-back, but played so far up the pitch. Get

Mackay. First in the Scottish Cup for Rangers. Cowdenbeath had plenty

of players around him. It was not to be. He has had such an influential

game already, Barry Mackay. Picked it up, drove at the defenders.

Measuring the shot. No chance for Jamie Sneddon. Perfect wing play

from Barry Mackay. With the perfect ending. Rangers are two up, and it

could be enough to see them through. Lovely curler, he knew from the

moment he get it, he had a chance. -- from the moment he hit it. Jordan

Spence calling for it. Callaghan and he's working the 1-2. Tries to play

it through. Spence exaggerated the fall, but it was a free kick.

Dominic Ball, just losing it slightly. There was a touch, made

sure the referee was giving birth. Wes Fotheringham is not the shy and

retiring type stop making himself known. Spence down the middle, and

the opportunity and the goal comes from Dean Brown. Superb free kick in

off the bar, Cowdenbeath get on the scoresheet at Ibrox. Absolutely

stoked about it, too. Curling it up around the world, off the crossbar

and in. The goalkeeper drags to one side, the world perfectly beaten.

That one the most cherished for him. Perfect execution of the free kick.

Almost finding the third for Rangers. The build-up play has been

and moving and we would like to progress that and do that a bit

more. Overall I'm not too disappointed with them. I thought

they were great. Had a couple of clear-cut chances and I need to work

on that and my shooting and increase my goal tally in a game like that.

It was nice to get the chances in the second half and a couple of

penalties. Top of the Championship, three in the Scottish Cup -- threw

in the Scottish Cup, not many teams will fancy drawing Rangers here. We

get misquoted, always talking about winning the Scottish Cup. Not saying

we will win but we'll was go in with the aim of going as far as we can,

we are in good shape and performing well. Rangers will always be in the

game. Most people expected a

straightforward day for Rangers and that's exciting what it was, wasn't

it? It was, the only surprise was going in a half-time 2-1. The only

way you can be critical is 16 attempts on goal and only four on

target, as Waghorn said. They controlled the game and in the

second half they got off to such a good start and ran out comfortable

winners. Great attacking football from Rangers, it has to be said. One

of the goals of the weekend from Barry McKay? He picked it up in his

own half, lots of space to run at, he always hugs the touchline and he

has a good relationship with Wallace down this side and he cuts in. It

not cover him because they don't think it is their man, giving him

the opportunity to run into that position. He's doing that quite a

lot just now. He's feeling really comfortable. Kenny Miller played

well all afternoon, held the ball up well and I think he looked good from

the start of the game. He is comfortable going forward and had

plenty of opportunities to do that today, didn't he? He did and the

thing is when he's on that sort of form you wonder if he is

unstoppable. I couldn't see any way you could stop him. He plays the

ball, turns and moves quickly. Once again, the full-back has been drawn

over, the centre-half is there. He knows there is a big gap he can run

into there. If the centre-back comes in to much he will give him the

space and because he has the power and pace he can do that and gets

into that position and his comfortable when he gets into that

position. He's not panicking and that is a good sign. That is the

inside left position but he's gone further forward, Centre forward,

look at the movement, going in behind and almost gets a chance on

goal forced up once again, look at him, he's getting lots of joy in

this area, so what does he do? I know he is there, he is there and

there is a big gap I can get through so I will do it as often as I can

and he did it continually through the game. You have to have a winner

that you can work with and McKay and he worked well together brilliantly

throughout the game. The under lap and the understanding is superb, the

good old-fashioned overlap works as well. We know he can do that, we've

watched him do it through the years, great players like Hutton have done

that for Rangers, and a former Celtic player used to do that

brilliantly. If he does that in the SPFL there is every chance he will

be back in the Scotland squad. Thank you. Now for the action from

yesterday and no doubt about the shock of the round.

This was the first-ever Scottish Cup meeting between these two sides and

only the second time the pair have met in all competitions. But League

2 Annan Athletic were not overawed by their Premiership opponents with

just six minutes on the clock and Matthew Flynn had the hosts up and

running. It has been a horrible run of form recently for Hamilton

Academical, just one win in the last 12 matches. And it soon got a lot

worse. Josh Todd doubling and an athletics's lead as the defence was

posted missing. -- Annan Athletic's lead. A

second-half goal was needed and they almost clawed one back. Brophy will

feel he should have done better. But then they did find a

breakthrough. Greg Docherty showing Brophy how it's done finding the

bottom corner. Just a minute later, though, Ana Mato's two goal cushion

was restored. Hamilton were masters of their own downfall with a Comedy

of Errors which Robin Omar eventually punished as macro Annan

Athletic's 2-goal cushion. Now a moment for the keeper to turn away.

Denied a second. But it was to get worse for the top-flight club, again

not at the races defensively and again Omar punished. A wonderful day

but huge disappointment for Hamilton Academical boss Stuart Canning. They

should be embarrassed with the performance, the performance level

has not been acceptable -- Martin Canning. We have the other side of

the coin. The Annan Athletic Jeff Jim Chapman and goal-scoring hero

Robin Omar. Welcome to sports in. I have to ask how big a victory that

was for Annan Athletic. Everybody is saying it's the greatest result in

the team's history. The chairman says it's the first time we've

reached the fifth round and the first time we have come across

top-flight opposition. It is a massive result and we can look

forward to the draw. It wasn't just a victory against Hamilton

Academical, it was a 4-1 victory as well. The result is very good, I was

pleased with the performance of the players who implement it the game

plan and they carried it out and merited the victory. It was never

easy. Sometimes you get to the cup ties and the lower league team has

to perform to the maximum and hope the top-flight team has an off day

but Hamilton did not play that badly. It was a good open game,

plenty of chances and we took the chances when they came along and it

is a fantastic result for the club. Robin Omar, you are the man of the

moment, what has today been like? It has been hectic to say the least.

What have you been up to? I got the phone call from gym this morning to

say that we are here and I was telling my pals and they were really

excited for me. Since the game yesterday my phone has just been

nonstop ringing and texts. Melting? Yes, the support from everyone has

been brilliant. I'm guessing Yes, the support from everyone has

not going to stop because you are at university

you have time to think about it much? I think the way that it came,

the way it dropped to me it took a bit of time for me to get there but

all I was thinking at that point was get it on target and you never know

what can happen. Now you are playing with a bit of confidence, that was a

nice little touch, you know what you are doing. It looks like it on the

video, but believe me, in my head I'm all over the place. It might

feel like a bit of a blur but to be honest you do the right thing, you

get it on target and get yourself in the right position and that is your

fifth goal of the season, not bad from that position. What were the

celebrations like as to the game? As you can imagine, very enjoyable.

Just like everything else, I told the players to keep their feet on

the ground and keep your cool. And after that the emotions were taking

over and everybody was all over and the press were looking for

everything. You know yourself in football there is lots more blows

for Linlithgow Rose is. But yes if anybody picks up Celtic, Aberdeen,

Rangers or Hearts it will be fantastic. It's not going to be

Aberdeen! I have to make sure I remember that. If they get a big

club it would be fantastic and that's the magic of the cup and you

can imagine the East Kilbride game will be some game if there is a big

club at the end of it. The draw tomorrow at 6:15pm will be live on

think Robin Omar's third goal, you thought, they are going to do it and

everything changed, suddenly it was 3-1 against a top-level side, that's

an amazing score and moment and he's an amazing lad and that was the

moment for me when I thought this is magic. We've seen lots of good

action. What stood out for you? It has been a big weekend and you don't

later see managers struggle so for Mixu Paatelainen to get the 1- 04

Dundee United and Kilmarnock's result were big results for the

clubs and supporters going through a hard time. How awkward is this

year's competition? Celtic will be the favourites -- how open. Who are

the contenders for the cup? I'd love to see Motherwell have another crack

at it. Of course. And Rangers, my two old teams. It's awkward, looking

at the last two winners, St Johnstone and Inverness. Inverness

were probably fortunate still to be in it, Stirling gave them a good

game and it is still open and it will depend on the draw. Do Hibs

have a chance? I was going to mention every single club involved

except for Hibs. Hearts are a better bet to be honest. It is an open

competition and everyone will look at Celtic. If Celtic drop it is
