Good afternoon, and welcome to another result show, more fun and

less press I can than a night on the town with the American swim team. 0

pins of score update, report u results manager interview and more

including the Wisdom and wit of our studio guests, they are Marc Wilson

and Stuart Cosgrove. Welcome gentlemen, now there are games afoot

so let us find out what is happening. Starting with the

Premiership match at Ibrox where Rangers are at home to Motherwell.

The latest is Motherwell are leading by a goal to nil, the goal as you

can see there, scored by McDonald, 19 minutes into the match. There is

some more positive news for Rangers fan, they have signed the striker

Joe Garner from Preston North End. Let us bounce round the rest of the

grounds, we will start at Aberdeen at home to Partick Thistle. Aberdeen

have their first goal scored after 28 minutes. McGinn and what a superb

one it was. A floated flee kick over the wall into the top right hand

corner of the net. The free kick conceded by Osman, hardly surprising

there, you could have run a sweep on what minute he would get booked. It

was the 28th and Partick Thistle trail at the start of the second

half by that one goal to nil. Let us say good afternoon to John Barnes at

Tynecastle where Hearts are entertaining Inverness Both sides

looking for the first win of the league season. At the moment

half-time it looks as though it is going to go the way of Hearts, they

are leading 2-0. The first scored by Cowie and ten minutes later Salmon

leaped to score the second. Can't believe he said that. Let us

head to the Global Energy Stadium. Ross County one Kilmarnock 0. It is

Boyce who is again made the difference for County. A thumping

the close range finish after being involved in nice build up play.

Boyce banging in the goals again. We are all, watching pictures of the

matches coming in. You have decided among yourselves which you are

watching. You are watching Aberdeen, one goal in it, but it was a belter.

It was a wonderful free kick by McGinn. Right footed, left top

corner goalkeeper no chance, just round the wall, wonderful. First I

half was all Aberdeen, they attacked, like we heard there, Osman

was very physical and committed a few fouls, a couple of free-kicks,

and the Partick Thistle goalkeeper a couple of good saves. Partick

Thistle has been counter attacking, Amoo has a great chance from the

right-hand side, he broke through, but, I think it was lowing whon

blocked his shot, but -- Logan who blocked his shot. It has been all

Aberdeen, they are on the attack and looking dangerous. You are watching

Hearts Inverness Mark. Avoid the John Barnes style metaphor if you

like, Hearts well worth the lead? They are, and it has been a tough

week for Hearts, because they Nielson has come under criticism

about team selection, he has had to defend himself and say the way the

style of play that Hearts are playing is his. It is back of the

Hearts of last season, they scored two great goals. Cowie's goal is

fantastic, great one touch play, edge of the box, Cowie curls it into

the bottom and Sammon off the score sheet with his first of the season.

You are watching Ross County. It has not been a bad game. If you were

going to start betting now for who would be the Player of the Month

Boyce would be in among there, started often the season with a

hat-trick, he has got the goal that is the separating goal between two

teams but it has been a close game and I notice that as Boyce came on

for the begin to have second half, he ran up and had a wry smile at

Kris Boyd as if to say I will show you how to do it. It is a tight game

here so it is not over, but currently it is 1-0 Ross County.

Another goal scorer on the sheet at Ibrox McDonald He has been there

before and done it before but in a different strip, a surprise, I think

a lot of the Rangers fans will be surprised how they have started at

home this year. They lost the first goal against Hamilton, and the same

again today, so they are starting too slow. I don't know, Motherwell

manager comes out midweek and says we are good enough to go there and

win. His team is proving that now. The game very much still alive and

kicking. Not the one in Perth. St Johnstone at home. We will finish

how that finished shortly if he agreed with Macleod's version of

events. Celtic were superb in the first half of a match they merited

the victory from. Like in midweek they were made to sweat, birthday

boy Griffiths opened the scoring before Sinclair and Forrest added to

the lead. Celtic were vibrant, bullish and full of confidence. They

took their foot off the gas in the second half, perhaps with one eye on

Israel and the qualifier, when Swanson convert add penalty on 81 it

looks like consolation when MacLaine bundled home an 9 it looks like come

back on. The champions made it two wins out of two at the start of

their title defence. We will chat more about that later. We are

era of Lawson, Laudrup, St Johnstone took heavy defeats when we were on

television it was known as the curse of Sky and of course, now, with this

rejuvenated team there was anxiety that may take a doing in front of

the camera, that is what it felt like when we went 3-0 down. They are

a fighting team with a lot of spirit. I think the difficult thing

we faced was the loss prior to the kick off of Anderson who is the best

natural centre-back we have got, and that led to kind of shifting the

team round, and all the rest of it, so that was a bit of a challenge,

and then of course, going 3-0 down to the current team, it will be hard

to come back from that. The 4-2 defeat wasn't the worst in the

world. What is it with Celtic and 3-0 leads? Today was an odd game,

because Celtic controlled possession, up until the 81st minute

and gave away a soft penalty. I looked like, sorry with respect, it

looked as though Celtic were having a training match. Apart from ten

minutes at the start, they were passing the ball nicely but then

they bring on three sub, they are thinking about Tuesday night. The

game was over at that point. You have to keep the door locked at the

back. To concede two goals but the plus side is, last season, they

would have went panic stations for the last few minute, and got

everyone behind the ball. This Celtic team just went up the pitch,

created another chance and got the goal to turn more. Is that down to

the boss changing the mentality? I think so. Obviously players to do

the job on the pitch, but they showed the character there, 3-2, you

know, mechanic Dr Not is not an easy play to go. Go. They are very

aggressive, effective the way they play, so you know, 3-2, I must say

it, the pendulum was swinging, all credit to Celtic they killed the

game. It is understandable that when you are 3-0 up and a massive

European match, looming next week, you know, to switch off a bit and

concede maybe a bit, a little bit slack, you know in the tackle and

concede a soft penalty, and then, goal straight after that, it is

understandable, but the way they responded to that was excellent.

Another bounce round the grounds starting at Ibrox, I can give you an

update on the goings on there, as we can see no change in the score line

there, Motherwell on course for a big victory there. McDonald the

scorer. Let us move on back to Scot Davey. Aberdeen were one up last

time we heard from Scott. Any change? No, no change at the moment,

still that sublime goal from McGinn separating the sides. He has been an

excellent form since coming back after that excellent time he had

during the Euros for Northern Ireland, it was a wonderful floated

free kick, and really no more than Aberdeen deserved from their

dominance and fluent attacking football. They have been playing

some good football but not making it count in the early stages of this

season, but certainly McGinn answering the problem there. Partick

Thistle, well, creating their own problems but they have broken out on

two or three occasion, more composed finishing from there, it might have

got them back in the, Azeez knocking the ball, Edwards getting down the

right-hand side and on the volley Azeez knocking it wide. At the

moment it is 1-0. Back to Tynecastle, John Barnes is

watching Hearts against Inverness Caley Thistle. A one-sided affair?

Hearts are flying this afternoon, there are terrific performance, and

Cowie with two goals, the first after seven minutes, moving Souttar,

Salmon and Cowie was there with a left foot curler. Early in the

second half, Salmon got the second goal, sorry, ten minutes after Cowie

got the first and Cowie has doubled his tally, two minutes into the

second period, with a lovely worked goal, what Sammon and Cowie stepping

on to the pass from Sammon to curl it into the same corner, this time

with his right foot. A few moments ago, Nicholson worked a nice one two

at the edge of the box, he went down under the challenge from Warren and

looked a penalty for my money, but the referee waved it aside. The

Hearts appeals. If it wasn't a penalty, Nicholson should have been

booked for diving but that didn't happener.

We might return to the topic of diving later. We will return to

Dingwall and here from Martin Dowd and he is watching Ross County. Into

the second half it is still Ross County one Kilmarnock 0. Often as is

often the case it is the man who makes the breakthrough, it is Boyce

with the goal, he is player who once he gets a goal or two he goes on a

run. His confidence is up. That why he showed patience in holding

possession, I thought he may be delayed it too long, he fed Curran,

released Gardner, and got into the box where all good strikers go.

Kilmarnock didn't deal with the ball and Boyce thumped it home from close

range. Two debutantes for Killie T there is a chance, just wide there

from County, again, Martin Woods, great chance for a second, Hendrie

at right back and Charlee Adams for Kilmarnock, Jones has looked lively.

A couple of chances for Kris Boyd haven't material leaded into a goal.

Mr Cosgrove pointed out, they have enough about them to cause County

afternoon, it is Dundee United two, Ayr United nil and the home side on

course for their first league win of the season. They have dominated this

game from the outset. Murray, van der Weg and Fraser going close

before they did make the breakthrough after 13 minutes. Smith

on loan from Aberdeen brought down inside the box by Paddy Boyle. Van

der Weg took the kick and it was saved but Murray was first to react.

Involved in gold number two, his cross half cleared by the Ayr

defence and Robson pounced and drilled the ball into the back of

the net. That was after 37 minutes. There has been little from Ayr, Gary

Harkins shot from 25 yards that warmed the palms of Bell in the

goal, but that has been it for the small Hardie band of fans here at

Tannadice. We played 54 minutes and it is Dundee 2 Ayr 0. There has been

another goal between Aberdeen and Partick Thistle. The details come

from Scott Davey. A disaster for Lyndsey, the central defender for

Partick Thistle, tried to be too cute, too clever. Turned away, and

he was dispossessed by Storie who ran through to knock the ball into

the net, off the inside of the goalkeeper's right hand post so it

hear for the first time from Kenny Crawford, he is watching St Mirren

against Hibernian in Paisley. Good afternoon, after 59 minutes at the

Paisley stadium, not for the first time this season it is all about

striker couplen -- Cummings who racked up two goals by the time the

half hour mark was reefed. That is five for him. The frustrating thing

for Saints fans Hibs did not have to play out of their skin to get this.

Cummings got his first on 2. A great run by David Gray's cross was

reflected. It fell into the past of comings who tapped in from four

yards out. That was 1-0. The second goal was a gift, presented to

Cummings from the St Mirren defence. A mix up between Baird and the

goalkeeper, they waited on one another to deal with the pass back,

Cummings nipped in, took it off and squeezed it it and it rolled into

the far corner. Saint Mignolet went off at half-time to boos but to a

chorus of boos and it is now back on for the second half but still St

Mirren 0 Hibs 2. Raith Rovers against an. It is a

feisty, Phil on derby match. The teams have gone I did add 100 miles

an from the start. The game started three minutes early, three minutes

before three o'clock. Maybe the referee is on a night out tonight.

No goals so far but lots of endeavour. Lewis Vaughan with a good

chance in the first have to Raith Rovers, a good free kick. Kallum

Higginbotham with a free kick for Dunfermline. Declan McManus is

showing up well for Raith Rovers. The only thing we're missing is

a goal. Greenock Morton are losing 1-0 against Dumbarton, the

yours, Stuart, two goals from an old favourite of yours. Yes, you can

bank on him, one of the best natural goal-scorers in Scotland. Miles

Storey getting a goal for Aberdeen. The new signing from Inverness. Very

important, I knew Straker at the club. Our reporter said it was a

disaster for Liam Lindsay. Yes, he wanted too much time on the ball.

The Aberdeen offensive players pressed the Partick Thistle defence.

They pressed Liam Lindsay strongly and when the ball. It sounds like a

man of the match style performance from Don Cowie at Tynecastle? Yes,

he is everywhere now. He is leading by example. He is not renowned for

his goals. The way that Hearts are playing today, the midfield is

playing with so much freedom. Any one of them could have scored but

Don Cowie has put two away. He will be looking for his hat-trick as

Hearts line up this free kick. Ross County, anything to report? Not much

to report, but Boyce is the difference between the two clubs.

Ross County need another goal because I can see, and are getting

something out of this. -- because I can see Kilmarnock getting

something. If you give him a chance, he will put it away, boys. Ross

County need another goal. We will see the outcome of this free kick.

If they do what Aberdeen has done an score from the set piece, it would

be curtains for Kilmarnock. Do you want to commentate on this? The

referee, who is wearing a wonderful aquamarine top, he has had a dispute

with the Kilmarnock defence. Last week there was a dispute between the

referee and the defence as well. Yes, it was one of the strangest

decisions I have seen. He gave offside. He blew the whistle, you

can clearly see. The ball went in. Then he awarded the goal. Stuart,

nothing happened with that. Nothing happened.

Now to the first Friday night football of the new-ish season.

Dundee on the back of a defeat by Rangers at Dens last

week were at home again, this time to Hamilton, who lost

The first one is one to savour. So much so I think we will show you it

two, perhaps three times. What do you make of that? Incredible. The

build-up play is good. Darren Lyon. He knocks sit back and get some

luck. He could not strike that sweeter. No chance for the

goalkeeper. You do that -- you think that is therefore a goal of the

season. Do not see it. There will not be many better strikes than that

this season. Not quite as good a stray, Mark O'Hara on the scoresheet

again. It was a decent goal. Not as good as his headed goal in the

previous game but nonetheless, it brings Dundee back into the game. A

bit of disappointment. You could hear it from Paul Hartley, the

Dundee manager. He is massively disappointed with his own team, not

getting a grip of the game the way he would have hoped. Our next item,

Paul Hartley, talking about his view of last night's match. We started

well. We cannot do anything about the goal, it was a fantastic strike.

We got back into the game but in the second half, we did not perform. We

did not pass well, create enough angles. We did not show for the

ball. We used the goalkeeper to much. Not acceptable. In the first

half, we were slow. We tried to pass through the zones. In the second

half, we were quicker and a bigger threat. It is frustrating for the

second week, because on performance we should be sitting on seven

points. Last week we dominated. Today, we have also dominated and

created enough to win. The players should be on seven points, top of

the leak, but we have two. We need to put the ball in the back of the

net. Mixu, neither manager particularly happy. Paul Hartley

marginally more upset than Martin Canning? Yes, when you dominate the

match like Paul says, in the first half, the past well and played well.

It is frustrating. I can feel his pain. Martin Canning, the improved

as the game went on. I thought he would have been happy with the point

away to Dundee? Absolutely, and taking the lead. Dundee at dens Park

is not easy. Hamilton have started well. Martin says they have been

playing well. It is a fine line. When you create those chances you

have to put them away. To concede from a set piece, the equaliser, in

the end, I do not know if there was blocking going on. The goal seemed

to be very open. We heard from a couple of managers. We can here for

-- from a couple more. The bosses of St Johnstone and Celtic. The game at

McDiarmid Park finished 4-2 Celtic. Celtic deserved to win the game. We

can play better than in the first half. When we analyse the goals, we

have contributed to the first three goals. We showed a lot of character

in the second half. It can go several ways. You can end up losing

7-0, are you can dig in and try and get back into the game. We gave away

a soft penalty. It was a penalty. Then we conceded a goal when they

were down to ten men. We were totally in control. It went to 3-

too quickly. That is how football swings. The reaction from the

players was good, we get the ball again and score a fourth goal. Very

pleased. A notoriously tough place to come. I can see why. To come here

and play to that level was very pleasing. Ibrox is a tough place to

go to get a result, as Motherwell are finding out. They were leading

1-0 through Scott McDonald, but Harry Forrester has equalised for

Rangers. That was in the 64th minute.

Back to St Johnstone and Celtic. Tommy Wright was talking about sex,

seven, 8-0. He is a disarmingly honest manager. Some managers want

to pick away at one refereeing incident, they want to dispute every

single throw in. Tommy can be very brittle about his own team. He was

pointing to the fact that we were authors of a own downfall in the

first 45 minutes. Not being as defensively strong as we have been

in the last ten games. He will be pleased they came back into it at

3-0. Yes, this is a dressing room were, six seasons, we have had a

strong dressing room. Team spirit has won us points when you thought

the game was dead and gone. To come back and get two madrigals, although

it was 4-2, it looked like it would be 3-2 and that would have been a

scare for Celtic. Mike Liam Boyce outgun Leigh Griffiths in terms of

being the top scorer this season? What about Danny Swanson? He has

scored seven already. He has been great. He is better than both of

them. He was the top man on show against Motherwell. Everything good

St Johnstone did went through him. He got a well-deserved goal and set

up some good chances. Tommy Wright has given him the platform to play

and the confidence. He looks like he is thriving. Players thriving under

Brendan Rodgers as well. Leigh Griffiths on the scoresheet again,

James Forrest looks like a new player? Obviously every manager, the

way they talk to the players, it is slightly different. If you pull the

right strings, with certain players, you get the best out of them. That

seems to happen at Celtic at the moment. Brendan Rodgers is very

positive. He wants to pass, controlled the match and create

opportunities. The way he comes across, clear messages to the

players, how he wants them to play. Players like Forrest, they are

taking advantage. Someone has taken advantage of an opportunity at

Stark's Park. Charlie Mann. It is the home side. A great goal. Bobby

Barr was the scorer. He got the ball on the right-hand side, and to his

left foot, and a good shot low. David Hutton, the Dunfermline

goalkeeper, got a hand to it but he could not keep it out the net. The

goal has come for the home side. Dunfermline need to get back into

the game. Raith Rovers ahead. And so to today's early kick-off

in the English Premier League. Stoke City at home to one

of the title favourites, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City,

at the Britannia Stadium. It was a margin of victory which may

be a little harsh on Stoke, but no mistake, Man City were impressive

today, particularly in the first half, when they were in control of

possession. Some debate about the opening award of the penalty when

Ryan Shawcross was punished for the kind of challenge so often ignored,

but when Aguero tucked it in, you could not say it was against the run

of play. Aguero doubled their grip to cap an excellent first half.

Stoke rallied in the second half, and when Bojan scored a penalty at

fightback seemed on. It never materialised, and as Stoke tired

late on, Nolito added a couple of goals to give the scoreline and

impressive glass and send a message to the rest of the Premier League.

We spoke about the effect Brendan Rodgers is having on Celtic. Let's

talk about Guardiola. He has said to the goalkeeper, you can leave if you

like. He has said to Yaya Toure, you can get back in the team when you

show intensity. He is not afraid to ruffle feathers. He is entitled to

do that. He wants to nature that every player is the type of player

that he likes. Attribute- wise and the way they go about things. He is

a strong man, that is why he is a great manager. He wants a sweeper-

keeper in goals. Have you ever played with any of them? I was never

fortunate enough. My goal keepers stayed on their line and let you do

the hard work. I am fascinated by Guardiola, and how he get his teams

to play. He did it with Barcelona and Bayern Munich. You think, can he

go to a third country and transform another team? It certainly looks

that way just now. He's not scared to say what he thinks. I read today

that he is not going to sacrifice his style of play and win I believe.

That is great for the Premier League and those watching. There is nothing

wrong with a sweeper -- keeper. You need someone who is great on the

left and right foot. If they come too far of their line, they are

easier to chip. That is the downside.

This week on BBC One Scotland it's the start of a four-part documentary

series reflecting on the past 30 years of Scottish football.

It is no more than Aberdeen deserve. They have dominated from the off

although this will have created a couple of chances they have

squandered. Off we go to Tynecastle. Hearts 3-0 up. Let us have some more

the second period Cowie was there after a lovely sweeping move from

the Tynecastle side, saw Sammon and Ward involved before Cowie knocked

it in at the far post. Nicholson went down in the box, a penalty

appeal was waved aside by the referee. The more problems for

Inverness injury wise, they are only listed five player on the bench and

Mulraney has to go off on the a stretcher, with a leg injury. And

Cowie, close to getting his hat-trick as well with a shot

deflected over the top of the crossbar. There is still time for

him to do so. Hearts are leading 3-0. Time for us to here from Martin

and he is watching Ross County. 1-0 to the home side? It is, that might

change. Schalke tries to roll it back to Boyce. He shoots he score,

you wouldn't doubt it, is Ross County 2, Kilmarnock 0. Great work

from Schalke, into the box. He got to the buy line, unusually for Boyce

he miskicked it. He was for Nat it came back to him and he was deadly,

finding the corner and that should seen it for County, they have

struggled to get than second goal. They needed one just the Kilmarnock

starting to show desire to get forward. They hadn't troubled them

too much but County very much on course for the three points. Ross

County 2 Kilmarnock 0. I love that he fluffed it, oh no he scored. We

Now I said to my boys look out for a player, who plays for Hibs called

Cummings, he has done it again on the score sheet, again another brace

for him His movement, Cummings's movement is unbelievable. He is all

over the place, nonstop running, great finisher. He in the right

time, right place, he is a natural goal scorer. I must emphasise, he

his work rate, how much he runs and put himself about and creates the

openings. Hibs fans may be worried they have signed Bryan Graham,

another striker, does that like they are preparing to lose him. They

needed another striker any way, to help out in a, and Graeme fits that

role. He St no like-for-like with Cummings. If teams come in and offer

millions how much can Hibs knock back before he has to go and leave

the club? I distracked you. You are supposed to be watching Hearts

talking about five goals and there is a danger now that Glasgow

journalists are cancelling their annual dinner because they don't

like when someone from the islands gets goals. A fantastic start to the

season for him, I think that there is, do you know what, up in

Inverness in Dingwall, these two different starts that the clubs have

had to the season will be the talking point for them. Boyce, he

will be pulling the out the stops to get a hat-trick. That would be

great. That would be something that has never been done from a player

outside the Old Firm, I imagine... He done brilliant, he scored a

couple of hat-tricks as well, so, he is a top player for them, injured

You wonder how these things will pan out when you have such a successful

season. You lose your manager, and you think, will it go south. Gary

Locke has done a brilliant job. He seems to get the best out of these

guys with Darren Jackson. There are racking up results and the top of

the table. A big win for Dundee United. Ray McKinnon has taken over

in different circumstances from you. You were at the bottom of the table.

He has gone to Tannadice and there is expectation he will get up. Yes,

very important victory confidence wise. Confidence is important. Raith

Rovers and Hibernian are going strongly. You do not want to fall

too far behind is this victory was important to stay in touch. Five

points, it could have been more. It is so early in the season. There are

so many matches to be played but you do not want to fall back. It was an

important victory. I heard you, Stuart, describing the Championship

is Alcatraz? Yes, it is the hardest division of any to escape from. You

can be there for a generation. What is fascinating about this division,

there is always great local competitions. Big crowds. Yes,

decent crowds as well. We should not lose sight of the fact that because

Rangers are no out of it, it is not a division we can ignore. It is

fascinating. Good friends of mine Raith Rovers fans, and they love

doing Dunfermline. This will be a big night for them. Will there be a

runaway winner in the Championship this season? We have had that the

last few. Not in terms of the last few seasons, not like that. I think

Hibs will win. They are the tip of lots of people to win. There are

lots of good teams, Dundee United, Falkirk. St Mirren. It is not

only team with three from three, they are three points clear of Elgin

City and Annan. At the bottom it is the newly promoted Edinburgh city

Burnley's season is up and running in sensational fashion. Vokes took

electric run from Bolasie on debut. Lukaku was denied later on. The

Albion keeper wide with a shot. First one of the season for Everton

under new manager. . Cue man will take about seven, eight nine rounds,

until the team gels in, especially with the new players and they are

good players that Everton have brought in. Important they have

confidence. That is a lot of games to gel. It is important to pick up

points, before that, but it takes time. It won't just happen, even

though they are quality player, and high standard player, it takes time

for the team to start playing together and with a all cylinders if

you like. An important victory. That is something Chelsea didn't manage

last season. Costa is on the score sheet again hand they have come from

behind to get the points. Yes, brilliant. It shows the effect a new

manager, we were wondering if Conte would fit in to the Premier League,

as much as mourn and Guardiola. It seems like he is having no problem.

Costa on the score sheet again,s have have -- very positive results

and all three big managers have got off to a great start. Another big

manager has had a terrible result, Klopp's Liverpool going down 2-0 to

Burnley after a great win over Arsenal. If you look at the managers

that are suffering, it is not good news for Owen Coyle when you look at

the English results. Sometimes you know, when you are a manager, and

you have got resource, comparable with say in Scotland where everyone

is working on margin, with the exception of may be the big two

club, everybody is working on tight margin, one of the challenges in

management is how do you spend money and spend it well and bring in

players that can make a difference, that is sometimes tougher than

working on threadbare budgets. Jurgen Klopp won't be too happy but

we can hear from a man who I am sure is delighted with the way things

went for his team. He is Jim McIntyre. His side won 2-0 to

Killie. Everyone will look at Liam Boyce, very impressive. He started

very well, when he does things sharp, he is a handful. It is great

to see your strikers getting on the score sheet. His confidence is very

high at the moment. But the players are giving him service at the

moment, so he will be the first to a knowledge that. I am sure you

pleased to get a clean sheet and you will know the importance of getting

wins in this league? Yes, we mentioned that at half-time. We have

not had a clean sheet. We need to keep one. It was great to get that,

I thought the defence deserved that. We had to deal with free kick, high

balls and I thought they stood up to that magnificently well. Kilmarnock

had a fairly offensive line up, two up front, it was part of the plan to

keep the ball in their half and present service to the strikers?

Yes, I thought it was a scrappy game, I thought once we got our goal

we played better football. We should have scored a couple more goals in

the second half. We failed to hit the target. But the work rate and

the effort for the boys, it got them the three points. Boyce seems a guy

who once he gets a couple of goal he kicks on, is it a confidence thing?

All players thrive on confidence and goal scorers do, before he got his

goals he was playing well-off the front because he is a clever player,

you know, you can use him at the end there, we stuck him in a wider area

when we made the substitute. We have to trust in Liam. His best position

is up front when he bangs in the goals. Six points from nine is a

very good start. Are you happy with that? Yes, very pleased. It is

important we win at home having lost here last time out. I think that was

important for the fans today. It is hard to tell. I said he was

delighted but he is so deadpan it is hard to tell.

It looks like the momentum is starting to build for Ross County?

Yes. Third in the table now. Confidence is everything at this

stage of the season. A club like Ross County, they have a goal-scorer

in Liam Boyce. They might not play their best, but when you have that

goal-scorer in the team, he gets a chance, he puts it away. You always

have that chance of winning, even if you do not play well. Today the

performance was not too bad at all. They are so important. Liam Boyce,

we talk about his goal-scoring skill and exploits, but he is also a great

receiver of the ball. He comes short, links, he works hard for the

team. The way Ross County play, they get every inch out of Liam Boyce.

The player very simple system, really effective football. Very

similar to St Johnstone, similar system. Real clarity. They have said

that is the role model. Yes. Pound for pound, they have one of the best

management teams in Scotland. They are doing very well. I think they

were heard by the opening game against Dundee which they lost

heavily. They are out of the League Cup as well. They had a pretty

miserable experience. Not that the fans were turning on them, but fans

can be fickle. I think the manager will be chuffed with that result

Closer at the end than it probably should have been? Yes. The last ten

minutes, we knocked off. When Sean Welsh got sent off, some of us

thought the game was done. It just shows you, the game is never done. I

would rather focus on the 80 minutes prior to that. We were very good, we

snapped about them, moments of quality. In the first half, a great

free kick from Niall McGinn. Great. He tries to go the other side with

the first one. Over the wall. It was a fantastic strike. I thought we had

good moments of play in the first half. We deserved the victory, we

were the better team at half-time. Graeme Shinnie did brilliant,

pressing and harassing. Miles Storey got his first goal. It was a good

day's work. It is a reminder, the last ten minutes, that there is work

be done. For 80 minutes, we were the dominant team, lots of strong

performances. Without your captain, Ryan Jack, Jonny Hayes not available

as well. Four changes to the team as well. Given that, your first victory

and legals of the season, it is a pretty positive day? Absolutely. We

want the team to try and settle down. Everyone is jostling for

position. Sometimes I am picking refreshers team rather than the best

team. You have got to be mindful of that. Everyone has got to fight for

position to get in. I think that the team in general, there were strong

performances. Some still need to get to where we need them to be, but

without some influential players, we have managed to do a good job today.

This was never easy. The players deserve credit for overcoming that

and getting three points. It is important ahead of next Saturday's

game. Yes, very important because it is one of the big game of the

season. You're going to Celtic Park. Yes, they have started really well.

I watched the majority of the game, up to 3-0, at the last leg. St

Johnstone have come back and had a go at the end. I do not know how the

game panned out, but for the first hour, Celtic were great. They can do

that to most teams. We've got to go there and be confident, try and take

them on. We have to try and ensure that we are worthy of me saying that

I think the luck that Scott has had this afternoon, she should be aware

of the seagulls at Pittodrie. Aberdeen did well against Celtic

last season. They have to match that this season if they are going to

challenge at the top. They certainly do. It has been a tough start to the

season for Aberdeen, much like Hearts. Tough game, and Aberdeen

needed that victory today, because if they did not win, then they go in

against Celtic and they would be five points behind Rangers, going to

play Celtic. It is a tall order. The confidence taken from those three

points today will be good. It will be a big task to beat Celtic. We

will hold that Celtic are tired coming back from Israel. They push

them last season, but I think Celtic are a step above last season and

will win comfortably. Scott Davie had a few words to share with the

Partick Thistle manager, Alan Archibald.

It was quite a dramatic end to the game. You nearly managed to grab a

point. I am delighted with the spirit, to keep going. When it went

to 2-0, the manner we lost the goal, there was a lull after that. I am

delighted there was fight back, especially after the sending off.

Was the sending of justified? I do not think the first one was a foul.

My players said it was not a foul, that is why he was so aggrieved. But

you cannot give consent. You're without him for the following week.

You had a couple of key players back today, Tomas Cerny making good

saves. He was beaten by a great free kick from Niall McGinn. We were

comfortable from that point. We created good opportunities and

situations we did not take. It took a wonderful free kick to beat us.

Aberdeen had lots of the ball but you created some clear-cut chances.

Maybe the hardest of all was the shot into the top corner in stoppage

time? I think so. You have got to take your chances. We created the

better chances in the first half, we got into good situations. We knew

Aberdeen would have lots of the ball, but I did not think they would

hurt us until 30 minutes into the second half. Stuart, Partick Thistle

played one match fewer than most of the teams in the Premiership. He was

not happy with that. They got a win and the board, and because Celtic

were playing Inter Milan in a friendly, they did not play last

week. I have a rusty? You get the feeling that in comparison to

Aberdeen, Aberdeen had turned the ignition and were ready for the

game. It is a disappointing start to the season for Partick Thistle,

they're planning, there way of how they might come into it. There is

another reality. They did not have to play Celtic, and St Johnstone and

other teams have as well. That said, they are difficult team to beat. It

is quite interesting, factually, if you look at it, they beat St

Johnstone three times last season, they took nine points. We were one

of the best of six teams. They are hard team and they will get points

on the road particularly. It is not doom and gloom for Partick Thistle.

No points on the road for Kilmarnock. They lost to Ross

County, 2-0. This is what Lee Clark are dizzy after the match. He to

Martin Dowden. Everyone will look at that and say,

Liam Boyce might have been the difference. What was the difference

for you? I thought we started quite rightly, to be honest. I was

pleased. Like this season on a whole, we have given a terrible goal

away. We lost a bit of momentum with that. They say that goals change

games. I think that we have to give the service to our two strikers that

they are strikers got. The Ross County centre-halves made it

difficult for our two strikers, much more than the other way around. I

think it is probably fit assessment is say that the game was won and

lost those areas. It was an attacking line-out, two upfront. If

you do not get the ball, it is hard for them to influence the game. Yes,

they needs service. We played too many long, straight balls which was

food and drink for Andrew Davies. Even when Kris Boyd was trying to

battle with them, he did not get enough quality balls. We started

well, some decent crosses in different situations. The first goal

came from us getting to the byline and having have a chance. What we

did, we did not defend well. They broke from the edge of their box. We

did not get a touch on the ball. Well, we did, disappointing

clearance, but then it is in the back of the net. Tynecastle now. We

have the winning manager from the match between Hearts and Inverness,

Robbie Neilson's side winning 5-1. He spoke to John Barnes. That is a

great result for your site, right from the word go. I thought the

performance was good. The last three performances have been good, but we

have not had the fine details of the game. It has caused us problems. We

have lost sloppy goals but today the performance was good and we scored

goals. Don Cowie, two goals but he played the part of a captain. Yes,

last year he was not fit. He had problems with his calves. He has

rested in the summer and you can see the quality he has. He was playing

in the Premier League in England. You could see that today. He leads

by example? Yes, not only on the part, but in training. He has a

group of players that he works with after training. They are buying into

what he does. He is leading by example. Robbie Neilson is almost

smiling, Mixu. Let me go back to Lee Clark. You spoke about Ronald Koeman

having a job to job the players. Lee Clark has 15 new players. Very

difficult, but something like that had to be done to be stronger in the

future. He has done the right thing. It will take a while. It is not doom

and gloom for Kilmarnock. Ross County is a difficult place to go.

They have a victory under their belt next season. The next game is

against Rangers, so it will not get easier. It is not doom and gloom.

They will be working away on the training ground, getting the players

playing Better Together. I have a funny feeling that Kilmarnock will
