with his performances. Since his debut at West Brom, he has only

like this, and the players they have, you should play every time

like this. That's what I saw in the second half, still trying to play

their game and score goals. I like Loftus-Cheek. I'm a fan of this guy.

I hope Guus Hiddink will play him more often. I think he has a real

talent. I think he's an asset for the team and the national team of

England. So many good young English players coming through, and he looks

like yet another. I will come to you shortly, but we can go down to pitch

side. Oscar, many congratulations, your first hat-trick in English

football. Yeah, my first hat-trick, so happy today. It felt like a

really big performance today, John. You were all absolutely up for it

from start to finish. Right from the word go. The majority of the squad

know what the FA Cup is about. The manager and Steve Eddy made it clear

it would be tough today. We came out of the blocks and it could have been

a few goals early on. This man was different class with his finishing.

Do you have a favourite goal from today? I think my first goal is a

very important goal because it was a big game. The second and third, good

goals. In fairness, you could have had five. There was the one Diego

Costa took from you. It was a huge performance. Eden Hazard with the

penalty. It was a strategic decision for the team to get him off the

mark. It's great for him to get off the mark, and he's just come back

from injury. Great benchmark for him and he can kick on, back fit. The

team is playing well, creating chances and scoring goals. It's good

at the moment, so hopefully this can continue. You have this FA Cup in

your sights. It would be number six for you. We hope so, we've had a

good run in the last few years. The purpose of travelling here, away

from the families, and away from home, you want to go unbeaten when

you are in it stop the unbeaten in nine games now, what's made the

difference? We need to continue to win the games and play well. We have

you can express yourself. You can see that, they are doing that. Also

the results that bring happiness, it's a chicken and egg thing, which

one comes first. You talk about things that turnaround morale,

allowing Hazard to take the penalty gets him off the mark. It's a nice

gesture from the team as well. You saw after the goal how happy they

were that he scored. Maybe that will bring him some confidence. He played

well. He does what he normally does, the only thing is that last year he

was so important and vital in all the goals that they scored, winning

goals. It's clever to give him that. He has missed this last two

penalties. When you have been on a dry run as a forward, anything will

do, whether it comes off your backside, a penalty, anything to

give you confidence and belief that you can hit the back of the net. I

know it's only a penalty but it want to help him. Doesn't even look at

the ball. -- it won't half help him. Looks up, looks at the goalkeeper,

and you could quite easily missed the ball altogether. He's missed his

last two. Doesn't always work. There's been a lot of talk about him

leaving at the end of the season. I don't think he wants to go. Because

he's got that penalty, Traore came on and scored his first goal.

Everything went well. Fabregas can't tackle, but he can surely pass. Only

club from a lower division playing against the big boys, you need them

nick something, but you need the goalkeeper to be outstanding and for

them to miss chances and win by a set piece. The way this club has

come on, and where it is now, it's a fantastic vision that Pete Winkelman

the moment. The two words that summed up the performance were

purpose and urgency for Chelsea. They didn't lose the purpose and

urgency through 90 minutes. As Paul Ince was saying, there was the

chance MK Dons could ride their luck with the chances Chelsea missed, but

they kept plugging away and equality oozed out of them all game. All

credit to MK Dons, they try to play attacking football against Chelsea.

So much space for Chelsea to exploit, and in that form I think

Chelsea would have taken most teams apart. Wonderful performance, and I

think the MK Dons players will sleep well for the next couple of nights.

Where do Chelsea go from here? Are they back to the side they were last

season or just one step at a time? I think they are back, absolutely. On

a fantastic run, and the atmosphere is so different at the club. John

Terry has said that between the players they are so happy to be

playing with a bit more freedom. They look like they are back on

again. This last stage of the season could prove to be a to finish the

season our role, get to the end of what has been a start of the season.

Hazard going, I think there's a good chance they can keep hold of him.

game for us. I'm disappointed, I thought we were poor. A bit harsh

because of the quality of the opposition, but certain elements of

what we did today, we almost caused our own problems at certain stages.

The group has an amazing mentality. Some of my players could play at the

top level, and there's a reason they could at a consistent basis. Some of

the younger players can learn lessons. What is it like to face

that bamboozling array, that first half when they were coming from

every angle. I thought it was scary. I've not had that before. When they

are on it, they are unplayable. Whoever they were up against, they

would have played in the same style. Quality all over the pitch.

Disappointed in a couple of my players, one or two have let

themselves down a bit. That's the reality of the industry. Some

haven't performed today, some have gone missing, hiding, and I expected

more from some of them. I have a team to pick for next Saturday away

at Cardiff, and one or two who have been waiting in the wings for their

opportunity, today has given them that at Unity and some people have

hid. -- that opportunity. It's important to learn. It can be easy

to point fingers, but it's hard to point fingers and then learn and

grow. The players need to grow, technically we need to be better and

faster and we need to be quicker in rotation. Defensively we got carved

up too easily, looking way to open, and too many passes got between the

lines of the centre-backs and full-backs. But we have things to

Great that he's kept his sense of humour. You know him well, you are

fallout with Alan Shearer! Just to make that clear. He's gone to do the

have been overcritical with his players. They are not going to play

was massive, so it was always going to be the case. It's disappointing,

because when you play these teams, you want to put on a show and make

it closer. It's a great occasion for everybody. Some players freeze out

there. I've done it. You see top players and freeze. It was only for

a couple of seconds. As a player, you want to perform against the best

players in the world. I can't believe you just admitted that. Did

Alan Shearer ever freeze? Don't think so. Not that you would admit

it. The one thing he can say about his players, they worked hard

enough, at the end of the day you have to hold up your hands and say

you are not good enough and the other team was better. Unfortunately

that was the case today. When you play that attacking, passing type of

game, if the other team is up for it and you are not defensively

astute... Two months ago they would have had a chance against this

Chelsea team, but they now have their belief back, passing and

enjoying football again and they have caught them on a bad day.

complaint made by one of the players about racist board. It is not

accepted, not acceptable, -- racist board. The football club does not

want anything to do with racism. We have done what we can do and I will

be very disappointed if there are any Carlisle United supporters

evening they will be covering that more closely. At the moment we can

successful Chelsea manager. You must be delighted with that performance,

great stuff? Yes, we are delighted because if you play this game than

it is always difficult than if you played in the big, big games,

Arsenal, Man City, the concentration is always high automatically. But

these games you have to be well prepared mentally. I think we did

well in the first half, although we were not finishing it off in the

first 20 minutes. Then they got even with the equaliser, but we reacted

very well. The first half it was all down to the missed opportunities,

but you must be delighted with Oscar's format the moment? That is

true, -- form at the moment. He is playing with a smile on his face and

that is what I like, when they know their obligation what to do, and

also defensively, these guys they know they have their job to do and

they do it. If they can play it by nature they can play it, it is good

to see. Another bonus for you must be the fact that Eden Hazard scored

a goal from the penalty spot, encouraged by his team-mates. Where

you came for him to take that penalty? -- where you keen? They

decide themselves. Oscar is the first one to take, but he gave it to

Eden Hazard because everybody knows that, he himself knows as well, that

he hasn't scored for a long time due to injuries and not having scored.

What do you put the change of fortunes in the manner that Chelsea

are now playing, unbeaten since you have taken over, the side were

really struggling before that. What you think the main difference has

been? Well, it is to say. What I asked in the beginning of the

players, when they made a contribution to the championship

last year, when they were champions, the contribution was they did.

Normally the result was a reaction after being champions, yes, people

get a little bit complacent -- normally there is a reaction. I

asked the players, hey, guys, what did you do when you were successful?

Let's try to go back to what your basic skills are. And clearly they

took that on board. I suppose also the fact that you get together a few

results, even if it is only draws, and stop the habit of losing, that

makes a difference. So much of footballers between the ears. That's

true, we or unbeaten now. -- so much of football is between the ears. It

is good to have some results. For the standard of Chelsea, you can

lose every now and then again but if you go on an unbeaten array of games

then you need also victories, and that is what we do in recent years.

How have things changed since your first spell in charge of the club

some six or seven years ago? Well, totally different players. The only

one is John Obi Mikel, John Terry, not many, not many are there, it is

a different group and different qualities. But, yeah, it is

difficult to compare the players we had then and what we have now, that

is difficult and I don't want to go too much in the past. It was a

beautiful time at that time with a lot of personalities. And now

are the team to avoid, to be honest. If they continue momentum they will

finish the season very strongly. Manchester City comfortable and when

the exception of Leicester, they have been inconsistent. Certainly

when we are talking about the big clubs. I was looking at the league,

with Leicester being at the top, if they continue with the points they

are getting they will finish on 72 points which would be the lowest

point score for a title winning side. So actually that inconsistency

has been what has happened all season and it will probably continue

until the end. What is your take on the Chelsea players? As in the

difference between the players we saw three or four months ago to now.

It is only staggering, and I can only think they were not enjoying

going to work. We have all been in dressing rooms where you are not

enjoying yourself so much and you just can't get the motivation,

particularly the creative players, I don't think they have had the chance

to go and express themselves and they were not playing with a smile

on their face, they looked like they were having to think about what they

were doing defensively. Now you are seeing a totally different Chelsea

side. Booking ahead to Man City, we have seen seven hat-tricks in the FA

Cup this season, one of them was yesterday, I and a choke, young

talent, what you make of him? He has shown a lot of promise, right place,

right time, great confidence, he has got a lot of time to think about it.
