they've been in this situation. He's somewhere whose been there and done

FA Cup. So go out and showed them why your favourites. And Reading,

they were here last season. They handled the pressure. Reading will

want to rewrite the heartbreak of their last trip to Wembley. Poor

Adam Federici. So at the end of the day, Wembley beckons for the

winners. Welcome to the Madejski Stadium,

where 12 months ago Reading sealed a first FA Cup semifinal appearance

for 88 years. The Championship site are at it again this season. They

knocked out West Brom in round five and a majority of this sell-out

crowd believed the Royals can cause another upset tonight. Crystal

Palace boss Alan Pardew returns to the club where he started his

managerial career. Palace largest made the semifinals back in 1995 and

the final back in 1990, when they came within minutes of lifting the

famous old trophy. Delighted to say we've got a couple of well-known

faces from that 1990 final. Ian Wright of course, who was involved

in a very nice opening, I thought, Ian. Like very much. Steve Coppell

has managed Reading and Crystal Palace on four separate occasions.

Alongside them, Danny Murphy, who is perfectly neutral! Good memories for

Ian and Steve. Steve Coll you took the side out at Wembley. What are

perhaps the highlight of your career as a manager? It has to be. For

every manager it is a dream to lead a side out at Wembley. For us to go

there... I've still got the suit by the way, and it fits, but not sure

about the flower! Ian, you were injured and you broke your late and

you came back. That's why I was so angry there! I was thinking I was

running out of time and wasn't going to get on in an FA Cup final. What a

goal. That is dream stuff! That is like five months of... You were 3-2

ahead. We won't show the Mark Hughes equaliser that level things at 3-3

and took it to a replay. Where did the suit go, Steve? Quick change

just before the start, superstitious! Describe the emotions

of scoring in a cup final. That was an emotional celebration. I felt

tears welling up and everything. The thing that snapped me out of it was,

I don't like when people bundle on top of me, so that got me to wake

up! I've watched every FA Cup final since about 1970. Steve, he never

picked him in the replay... He broke his leg and for six weeks we had

faith healers and everything! For him to play we thought was a miracle

anyway. When he scored the two goals... If I could have my time

again I think I might just have started him! Two sides here tonight,

Reading Crystal Palace, marvellous opportunity for one of them to get

to a semifinal. Another splendid opportunity for Reading but for

those tallies lads tonight, they must be getting excited. As the

Premier League team you feel like favourites. The two months they have

had in the Premier League has been awful. These could be a lift for

them and a chance to play at Wembley in the semifinal. Reading did that

last year. You mentioned Federici. If feels cruel to show it again...

It's one of those, it can happen. Unfortunately it happened to him. I

remember saying you've got to get the basics, you've got to get your

body behind it. It's something I'm sure he will never, ever get over.

It was heartbreaking watching that happened to him. Let's confirmed

tonight's two teams for you. Dan Walker is pitch side.

Thank you very much, let's start with the home team, Reading, who

have had to make two changes. You will recognise Ali at the, an FA Cup

winner with Wigan. Paul McShane is fit and back in the back four. He

has missed the last two games for the home side. Michael Hector will

play just in front of them in the holding role. Hal Robson-Kanu comes

back. He missed a couple of matches with an Achilles problem. He is on

the right-hand side of that midfield four. Matej Vydra not fit tonight.

He starts on the bench, so Simon Cox makes only his third start of season

for Reading. One change for Palace from their weekend defeat to

Liverpool in the Premier League and that is Wayne Hennessey coming back

in goal for Alan Pardew's team. They are unchanged at the back, Scott

Dann is actually their joint top league scorer in the league this

season. Joe Ledley slightly bigger than Mile Jedinak! The creative

three in front of those two, Wilfried Zaha Kammy Yohan Cabaye and

Yannick Bolasie. Emmanuel Adebayor on his own up front, with Connor

Wickham out injured. Those are tonight's two teams for this FA Cup

quarterfinal, Gary. Reading can boast a player with an

FA Cup winners medal in the form of the home an international goalkeeper

Ali Al is eager for whom playing on a Friday night holds an extra

significance. -- Ali It has been perfect for me and I

have enjoyed it, especially with the cup run. It has been absolutely

fantastic. That is the dream, to go back to Wembley.

I had my experience with Wigan when we won the FA Cup. I'm very proud to

be the first Arab player to win the FA Cup. To be a Muslim, I'm very

proud of that. The way I believe in my faith has given me more power to

be more strong. This is my copy, I like to read it every day. I like to

read a bit of the Koran before every game. It has made me more relaxed

than concentrated in the game. It has helped me a lot. Every single

word in the Koran is really important for me.

Every Friday, every Muslim is to read this one. It gives you special

things in your heart and relaxes you and gives you the power for the

whole week. It is a part of my life. I pray every day five times. You

wake up in the morning Kammy you do your praying and then you go back to

sleep for a little bit and then you go to the training ground. I am a

Muslim, I'm not drinking, not smoking, look after myself. This is

one of the ways to have a good career. Friday is a special day for

every Muslim. To do the prayer in the mosque every Friday after

trading, everybody asks me, Ali, you have taken the shower very quick to

reach the mosque! It's going to be a special Friday for myself. I will go

to do Friday Brack I will come back home and have a sleep before the

game. -- I will go to do Friday prayer. Hopefully we can get the

result that we want and we can go to the semifinal.

A big night for Ali Al-Habsi. Reading are currently in the bottom

half of the Championship table. They are 14th, after an inconsistent

season so far. Steve Clarke was sacked in September and replaced by

Brian McDermott, who has returned for a second spell at the club.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has quite a cup pedigree,

having scored the winner for Palace in their epic 4-3 semifinal win over

Liverpool in 1990. 26 years ago, that, Mr Pardew. What

would it mean to you to lead this Palace side to Wembley this time

around? It would be a huge honour because they are a great set of

players. I've really bonded to them. They have a great winning mentality.

We're having a bit of a tricky spell at the moment so it would be nice to

get some glory at the end of the season if it was possible. Brian,

tell us about the secret to Reading's success in this

competition in recent seasons. CHUCKLES

Brian McDermott thinks I am Rodney in this code! Will you concentrate

on your interview please! -- in this coat. I don't know, I've been lucky

enough to be in 3/4-finals. Last season we got to the semifinal. --

in three quarterfinals. We are looking forward to tonight. We're

revelling in the occasion. A full house at the Madejski Stadium, what

is not to love? It is like the Palace all-stars are back, Ian

Wright, U, Mark Bright! Listen, it's nice that those guys

are still involved in the club and it would be nice to have Steve

involved in the club at some point. Great memories of that time. But

this is a different time. But the DNA of the club hasn't changed

really. We're all about rolling our sleeves up and trying to overcome

the odds. As it happens tonight, we are the favourites, which is unusual

for Crystal Palace. We have to learn how to deal with that. They expect a

scrap, Palace. We want to play on the front foot and we want to do

what we want to do and we want to make sure that our fans go home

happy, that's the most important thing as far as we are concerned.

do you make of what has happened in the last ten years? Up and down.

Ownership issues. Sir John was a great chairman, for me. He brought

in the Russian whose name escapes me, and now they have new Thai

ownership. It's lost its direction a bit and the directional waste comes

from the top. Hopefully now with a bit more ability and Brian back...

He worked for you. He was my scout, he was reserve team coach, he was

everything. So much commitment in the role. He wears his heart on his

sleeve. He would love to do well today and get a good result. An

important figure for them today will perhaps be Michael Hector in front

of the back four, who played so well last year. He is a super athlete.

I've seen him play at the back and in midfield. He seems to have all

the attributes that you look for in that position. He obviously was a

little bit surprised when Chelsea signed him, I think. Palace were

actually in for him, ironically. Chelsea stole him. I think he is

growing all the time. His ability is there, it's the experience he needs

now. A super game for him tonight to show his talent. I know you like in

that midfield as well, Steve? I do. It's been a difficult situation for

him. I think that midfield role where he can see the game in front

of him... His distribution is solid and physically he is a real specimen

and he gets around the pitch. That's important tonight, Palace have got

so many bright young players. Let's go pitch side, where Rodders is with

We've heard from Alan Pardew, attitude is essential, isn't it?

Yes, in any game. I think even more so tonight because Reading are the

underdogs. Going into the last game against Spurs they were the

underdogs. Tough game, Spurs away, and they executed their game plan

really well and rode their luck a little bit, you have to say. Should

be a really good game, good atmosphere. Just mindful, you know

Western at the FA Cup has always been about giant killings and you

don't want one tonight. Martin Kaymer you finished your career here

at Reading. There's a real excitement among the fans. I always

remember you saying something that Arsene Wenger said to you at

Arsenal, players don't get many opportunities to win the FA Cup. Don

Howe said it, it's like green bottles hanging on the wall, you

might get ten good opportunities to get to Wembley, so make them count.

You know what it means. This competition is still massive.

Looking at Reading tonight, there is a real chance they could do it.

Matej Vydra on the bench is a real blow for them because he has scored

six goals are ready in this competition. With Crystal Palace,

Yannick Bolasie has been frightening at times. They will fancy their

chances tonight. Reading fans will really want to see an upset tonight.

You look at the substitutes for Crystal Palace, lots of attacking

players, just in case. We have had some games where penalties have gone

against us, hopefully we could get one tonight. It feels wrong to

separate Bright and Wright. Your former strike partner is up there,

give him a wave! Two players I carried!

LAUGHTER Crystal Palace made a major

statement last summer when they signed the former Newcastle

midfielder Yohan Cabaye. For a club record fee of ?10 million. We have

been speaking to the French international about life at the

Palace. COMMENTATOR: Cabaye! Alan Pardew has

now signed you for two clubs. How important was him being here in new

signing for Crystal Palace? It was very important for me. We created a

very good relationship between him and me. He trusts me, I trust him.

That is why it was important for me last summer to play under him. You

see him on the touchline very active and he also talks to you a lot. How

do you find that helps you with your game? Every time he is on the

sideline to try to motivate us and he knows how to give players

confidence on the pitch. The last time Palace got to an FA Cup final

was 1990. Do you know much about that? Pardew was playing. Pardew and

John Salako. And Mark Bright. I have seen some pictures on the wall. That

I have never seen the videos. He hasn't sat you down with the VHS?

Not yet! Maybe if we win... For me, to play in an FA Cup final, that is

fantastic. Had the chance to win it with two teams in France, so that's

very special. When you win something, you just want to win and

get it again. The mistake would be to think we beat Tottenham in the

last one, now we go to Reading, Championship side... That is the

most dangerous. We have to be even more focused.

Gifted footballer, Danny. Very gifted. I had a couple of tussles

against him and saw how clever he was. I think he is a creator rather

than a destroyer. A good passer of the ball, can score a goal. It was a

brilliant bit of business for Palace. I preferred to see him

playing in a three to see him in the final third of the pitch. He is

great at this, opening up defences. As soon as he gets the ball as a

forward player, you can make runs. Recently I think he hasn't quite

been at the same form he was that earlier in the season. Whether that

is now the tactical role he's got, a bit deeper and he doesn't quite get

up the pitch as much. But he is a super talent and I would like to see

him in more attacking positions. He hasn't recaptured that form from

earlier in the season. Their form generally has been very

different. You look at maybe the chances and not many Palace forwards

have scored goals. You would have thought he would have created a lot

of chances but they have not taken any. What has been missing at Palace

lately? A number nine. I think earlier in the season they were

getting results when they didn't really deserve them, and now they

are losing positive positions when they don't really deserve to. The

number nine is critical. Adebayor, for me, if healing the team together

and all of a sudden they are an effective outfit. I think they have

lacked a number nine all year but he is the one who can really gel them.

Prior to coming to Palace he hadn't played much football. He is feeling

his way in. That was his goal against Watford. Once he gets

himself going, he's hard to deal with. When you mention his name,

people think of him as a bit of a joke figure but you're looking at a

player who should be one of the greats in the Premier League.

Unfortunately for me, for whatever reason, he lost his way a bit and he

has not been playing... Look, he has still got the confidence to try a

rabona here. Palace have got players who can create and get the ball to

him. If he is up for it, he will cause them problems tonight. They

need a top Adebayor. They have had their injuries and Bolasie is just

coming back and getting his form and fitness back. That is important?

Definitely, they lost games when he was out and you thought by omission

he must be the key. He's coming back into it now and he is superbly

gifted. Great centre of gravity, from off the mark. Pace, power. You

would criticise in the long term his providing of chances, the way he

sets them up. But he is without a doubt the spark in the team. I think

he does a lot of his best work from wider areas. I know Alan Pardew is

trying to get him in a more central role but I still think his best

games come when he is wide. The other thing for Palace Jason

Puncheon being missing. He has been out of five weeks. He is on the

bench today. That is a big plus. Who do you fancy doing? Palace, for

their midfield players. Steve, where do your allegiances lie? Where is

your heart and where is your head? I can't win and I can't lose! I will

go with a draw! Danny? I think Reading might get something and take

it to a replay. Laying for a place in the semifinals of the Emirates FA

Cup. Reading against Crystal Palace. Your commentators, Mark Lawrenson

and Simon Brotherton. COMMENTATOR: Good evening, Wembley

just 90 minutes away. Reading hoping to get there for a second year

running after pushing Arsenal all the way last year. As the Palace

looking to rebuild a season that has veered alarmingly off the road. They

were only in the top four on goal difference at Christmas but have

slumped alarmingly to 15th in the table. Both teams nine points above

their allegations own in their respective divisions, a trip to

Wembley would really fire up their seasons. Reading's promotion push

may have evaporated as early as the autumn but they are at it again in

the FA Cup. In the quarterfinals tonight for the fourth time in seven

seasons. They have already beaten Premier League opposition, 3-1

winners over West Brom here in the last round.

Michael Hector and able to play in a defensive midfield role. Simon Cox

starting up front, just as he did in the last round. Wayne Hennessey

returns in goal. It is the only change, as he goes with the

strongest available line-up. Emmanuel Adebayor the focal point of

the attack. Connor Wickham misses the game through injury. Among the

substitutes today, the FA Cup's top scorer so far this season, Matej

Vydra. And Jason Puncheon named on the bench for Palace, he has missed

the last six matches with a hamstring injury. Michael Hector was

a key player in Reading's fifth round win over West Brom. He has

been loaned back here from Chelsea unit in at the last minute when he

looked set for a move to Crystal Palace. Roy Hodgson among those in

the crowd there, deep in conversation with Sir John Madejski.

And Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace, scored the winning goal in both the

third and fourth round before setting up the winner in round five.

Mike Dean is our referee tonight. He took charge of the final back in

2008 when Portsmouth beat Cardiff City by one goal to nil. We're

almost ready to go. Brian McDermott, who was first wrought on to the

staff at Manning by Alan Pardew, initially in chief scouting role and

as the under 17 's coach but now he is the manager for a second spell.

Almost ready to go here. It is Reading who will kick off. One final

cheque for Mike Dean and the officials and we are under way.

Familiar territory for Reading, who have done rather well in the cup in

recent years, and a chance for a first word from Mark Lawrenson.

Well, the thing with a Championship side is no team gives you an easy

ride. It seriously is dog eat dog and Reading will make it really

difficult for Crystal Palace. If the three Hind Adebayor get lots of the

ball, I think they may have too much for Reading. Cabaye a key player of

Crystal Palace, the club's record signing.

An early touch of the ball for Zaha. McShane back in the heart of the

defence already today. A mixture of youth and experience in there, the

two of them combining. Jake Cooper alongside him, just 21 years of age.

A first touch of the ball for Wayne Hennessey. McShane versus Adebayor

will be very interesting. Bolasie goes striding forward and Cooper

tries to go with him. Early threat from Palace here. Zaha showed too

much of that to Cooper. They have missed the pace and directness from

Bolasie. He was injured when they beat Stoke City 2-1 the week before

Christmas. They didn't win at all in that time frame and he returned as a

substitute in the fifth round at Tottenham. Certainly a player missed

by Alan Pardew's side. Palace looking to make a bright

start here. This is a beat a, one of those players rested on Tuesday

night when they were beaten 3-1 by Huddersfield in the Championship. By

Peter very -- Obita is very much the first

choice at right back. Simon Cox playing on his own up front, just

like was in the last round. That will be a big battle, and Delaney

and Dann take no prisoners. McShane, rather loose, and

fortuitously for Reading it fell to Stephen Quinn. Michael Hector. He

was the driving force behind that fifth round win over West Bromwich

Albion. Excellent second-half performance in particular. No foul,

says Mike Dean. Space here for Cabaye. Ledley. He has not started

terribly often in the Premier League but started every single match in

the cup so far. Reading free kick, for the challenge on Quinn.

Plenty of experience in this Reading side. Stephen Quinn alongside Paul

McShane, both played in the cup final against Arsenal a couple of

years ago. Yes. Decent on the ball, Quinn. You would never put him under

that bracket, decent on the ball, Paul McShane, but he heads it and

kicks it for fun. That's what he's paid to do. Ledley now, touch from

Adebayor going astray. Gunter was looking for Robson-Kanu, a key

player for Reading. Scored a couple of goals in the FA Cup this season.

Cooper, the 21-year-old, who has come through the youth system and

Reading. Started every match since the turn of the year.

Brian McDermott knew him from his earlier time here. Forward by

Hector, asking too much. Simon Cox has a bit of work to do, has his

hands full. He will not necessarily have too much supporting close

proximity. He will win nothing in the air against Delaney and Dann. He

has to bring the other midfield players into the game. Hasn't

started a single league game this season for Reading, but started

against West Brom in the fifth round. I think we will see Matej

Vydra at some point in the game. I would think so. High and long from

Hector. Surprised he didn't start, if he's fit enough to be on the

bench. Brian McDermott, he has led the club to the quarterfinals for

the third time this year. Steered them to their first quarterfinal in

83 years. Fourball by Cabaye from all people.

-- poor ball back by Cabaye, of all people. Over the head of

Robson-Kanu. The first few balls into the final third have been over

hit by Reading so far. Debtor overhit than underhit, which would

only give the ball back to the opposition. -- better overhit. The

crowd getting warmed up. The crowd is nearly full now. There were

plenty of empty seats five minutes before kick-off. It means the M4 is

empty. It's not the easiest getting along the M25 and a longer M4 from

Croydon on a Friday. -- and along the M4.

Hennessey should have claimed that. We have said before about the

service into Cox. It needs to be a good ball for him to bring other

players in. First chance to see Ola John. Has been seeing more options

in the first team in recent weeks. Shouts of a penalty from the home

crowd but not from any players. Adebayor gets the free kick he was

hoping for. Not quite sure, actually. Hector was a little bit

strong. Here it is again, good tussle between the pair of them.

Maybe a bit of holding. Maybe. Hector is the player penalised.

Adebayor waits for the delivery from Yohan Cabaye on the edge of the

penalty area. No surprise to see Delaney and Dann there as well.

Palace score goals from set pieces. Not this time. But they have a real

aerial threat and physical presence. Very much so. They have some good

athletes. And that is a beard, isn't it! Yeah, it's Joe Ledley, blocking

off his man. Mile Jedinak, comparing beards with Paul McShane about an

hour before kick-off. He felt he went back that particular duel. Dead

heat between him and Joe Ledley. Free kick for Crystal Palace. Their

only victories since the turn of the year have come in the FA Cup. You

would think a 9-point gap between themselves and the bottom three

would be fine. I think now they have players coming back it will not be a

problem. They should have beaten Liverpool. But they didn't manage

the game when they had 11 against ten and were 1-0 up. That was the

problem. Looking into space, but too much on it for Chris Gunter. Hector

looks very comfortable on the ball. Very easy, and he has good movement

around him as well. Played further forward in recent weeks by Brian

McDermott. If you can play, you can play anywhere, in all honesty.

Souare, he made his debut for Crystal Palace last year in FA Cup

against Liverpool. Ola John, his older brother used to

play for Fulham a few years ago, Collins John.

They are trying to knock it around, Reading. And the pitch is better

than it looks. Ten minutes into the game, nothing in it so far with

neither goalkeeper required to make a save. Reading have to be so

careful with the pace inside the Crystal Palace tackles the advantage

played by Dean. Bolasie sends it in but nobody in the middle. Gun to not

taking any chances. He was aware that Joe Ledley was nearby. It was

at such breakneck speed, the breakaway from Zaha. Well done to

the referee, I thought he would blow the whistle, but he let Palace play

on. Palace don't have the best record against Reading in recent

years, winning only one of their last 11 meetings between the two

sides. Impressive window, 4-2, a few seasons ago. -- impressive win

though. Cabaye takes the cake. Al-Habsi tries to get through the

crowd to that one. Back to Adebayor. Away by Jordan Obita in front of the

central defenders. You can see a tussle between Al-Habsi and one of

the central defenders. A spot of head tennis. Jordan Obita able to

head the ball away before it got to Bolasie. Al-Habsi has taken a hit in

the mouth. Made his league debut in October for Reading, signed last

summer. Has kept his place ever since October.

Simon Cox didn't really stand much chance against Scott Dan. Gun to

looks for Robson-Kanu. Could be an important player for Reading if they

are to have success in this match. Defenders doubling up on him,

Guenther sweeps it into the middle. Off the head of Delaney but only as

far as Hector. Ledley steps in. McShane drags the ball away from

Bolasie. Good play by Ola John. Blistering

pace. Lovely skill. And a touch too many. How many times do you want to

beat your man? Beat him the first time then whip it in. Palace had

defenders running back, so by the time he beats the defender again,

everybody is in there. He had a great chance to deliver the ball. He

had a great chance to get it in. You can see that might be a real problem

for Palace. It's the first time we have seen Ola John testing Joel

Ward. I don't know why he didn't deliver them, or then, or then. But

not then. That was a waste. Probably the

easiest header Joe Ledley and will have all Evening. You have to make

the defender work. It was far too easy.

Reading haven't had a great season, but they are only nine points ahead

of the relegation zone in the Championship. But Brian McDermott

has steadied the ship and they are building again. Some of the players

had more than half a mind onto night, and their defeat midweek was

their first after a six match unbeaten run. It's fully

understandable. Their form is pretty good going into this. I like the way

they have set up. Get it wide and get it out there very early.

Given away by Jordan Obita. He will have to be pretty fleet of foot to

keep up with Zaha and Bolasie who has joined him on that side. Three

waiting in the penalty area. One of them is Adebayor and Joe Ledley was

at the far post going for it. I think Chris Gunter has taken a hit

on the edge of the six yard box. Joe Ledley as well. Good play by Palace

and Bolasie. Unlike Ola John at the other end, passed your man, half a

yard, and send it in. Chris Gunter signed a new two-year Mac deal with

Reading the other month. No damage done after the clash of heads.

Souare sends it over. Almost falls out of the top Bolasie and Palace

have a corner. -- almost falls at the feet of Bolasie. He wasn't

really expecting it. Nice ball in by Souare. Good name for a Friday

evening! Pape Souare was suspended for the last round after being shown

a red card. In the line-up now. Cabaye once again. Once again, it's

comfortably dealt with by the Reading defence. Cooper got his head

on that. Mike Dean blowing on the edge of the penalty area, Reading

free kick. I think Reading are complaining there was a stray elbow.

Not really. Forearm, just resting on Quinn.

Mile Jedinak, he's had a more limited role this season than in

previous years with Palace, starting just ten games for them. Many of

them have gone since the start of the year. I think the position, the

way he plays in front of the back worker, it helps the like is of

Puncheon, Cabaye, helps them get forward more. Flick from Bolasie and

touch from Adebayor and a foot race between Zaha and Jordan Obita. This

might be a recurring theme of the evening. Adebayor, he showed far too

much of that Cooper. He did, but Palace's movement going forward very

good. Joel Ward getting in on the act. Away from Ola John. Good ball

in. Bolasie, he has to try to get across the defender. Just a little

bit of waiting for it to come in. You see the difference between the

two teams. The Premier League team, get in the position to cross and it

comes in very early. Simon Cox looking for Hal

Robson-Kanu. Away from Souare. Taken down by Norwood but the distribution

wasn't quite so clever. Zaha skips away with the ball. He gets past

Jordan Obita. Palace are starting to knock on the door a bit. Call me a

liar, probably four or five times they have whipped the ball in from

against West Brom in the fifth round, McShane. He might have just

good deliveries from corners so far, all making Reading defend. Not as

successful this time and the chance for Reading to break away. Ola John

goes hurtling through the middle. Joel Ward is underneath it, right

everyone guessing for a moment there. The crowd really went for it.

Souare, more sure-footed this time. Blame the pitch!

You have to play on in this game. If the referee doesn't blow his

whistle, it's good to keep playing. You have to be strong. Championship

team. What a mistake. Came off his right shin. Almost had a Mulligan.

Adebayor got the better of McShane there. Wasn't a bad ball. First time

they have really played the ball in behind. We certainly have a good

setting for this quarterfinal, the Madejski under lights by the M4.

Only takes you two hours to get out! Needs a goal to be fully rocking

tonight. They will be quite happy with the start they have made, Brian

McDermott. Been competitive. Midway through the first half. Here comes

Wilfried Zaha for some treatment. Might be a contact lens, some blood,

I'm not sure. Looks as though it might have been a finger in the eye

or something. Jedinak is down under pressure.

Nothing doing from the referee. Away come Reading, the Championship side,

the only Championship team still left in the FA Cup. Crystal Palace

are still down to ten at the moment. But out of play and Zaha comes back

on. Looking bright so far, he has massive ability. He and Bolasie have

that unpredictability about them. On a good day it's great, on a bad day,

its woeful. Souare complaining he got an elbow in his ribs. Looks like

sympathy is in short supply. And he's limping as well. Reading get on

with the game. Straightforward ball for Hennessey, who hasn't been

tested yet. A change of gear. There is a nice flow about Palace moving

forward. Bolasie combines beautifully with Zaha. I think it

took a bobble before he took the shot. What a great break, very good

from the front three. At pace, very difficult to defend against. Change

of pace from Zaha. Good play from Bolasie. Thought he would play in

Adebayor and go right rather than left. In terms of getting up the

pitch quickly, very good. Cabaye provides once again. Mike

Dean isn't happy with something. Plenty for the referee to keep his

eye on in the penalty area, as ever. I think he's having a word with

Cooper. It's Chris Gunter and Jedinak.

It's funny, the referee has a word with everyone, the next corner comes

in, and guess what happens? Groundhog Day. Ola John with a

chance to sprint over the halfway line. Plenty of Palace players back

behind the ball quickly. Not so many in blue and white moving forward.

Now they are forward. Robson-Kanu, who we haven't seen too much of in

the first half. He settles for a corner. It's interesting how quick

the Palace players got back, rather than Reading players getting

forward. Reading's first corner of the game. Up until now Palace have

been more threatening. Yes, most definitely. Without making the

goalkeeper made a save. Norwood, Northern Ireland international. It's

drilled in, and McShane almost in with an opportunity on goal. Good

FA Cup so far this season with 14. Yet to threaten really. They must

have whacked somebody. They had a replay against Huddersfield, two in

the first game, five in the replay, four against Walsall and three

against West Brom. They played very well against West Brom. Actor trying

to put it away. He has been penalised for a high boot. -- Hector

trying. Fans trying to say it was boot high rather than head low.

Looks aggrieved. Quietly simmering. Bit like the game. Dave Beasant, the

goalkeeping coach at Reading these days. Was the first goalkeeper to

save a penalty in the FA Cup final when Wimbledon beat Liverpool. I

don't remember that! Cabaye, looking to delve into his

box of tricks. Difficult to know, do you shoot from there, a long way

out? Yes. You do, and you bring out a good save from Ali Al-Habsi. I

think he made the save more difficult than it needed to be. It's

not going in the postage stamp, is it? Probably saw it a bit late, but

he saved it. Al-Habsi, in the concentrated Crouch

of a pose. Bolasie trying to go in on the goalkeeper. Jordan Obita

trying to get between the two. First bad corner, set piece, that Cabaye

has taken. Bolasie! IRONIC CHEERS The Palace fans thought it had gone

in at the far end, as you can imagine. Good reaction from Bolasie.

Kicked in by Scott Dann. Decent effort on the turn from Bolasie,

getting his shot in before Jordan Obita can make the block. It has

woken up the Palace fans away to our right.

Good touch on Simon Cox. Closed down quickly by Jedinak. That's a foul

all the time. I think he wanted to try to play on. He wanted the

advantage but there wasn't one. The referee is doing all right. Simon

Cox is due a goal. I thought you were going to say the referee is due

a goal! What a night to get one it would be. He's another player who

came out of non-league, Simon Cox, was he not? What can Reading do with

this? Almost been playing half an hour. Norwood sends it to the far

post. Jedinak was always in control. We

have not had the chance to see more from Ola John in this first half

after the one exciting early run. Might be a booking. It is a booking,

for Hector, who is getting hot under the collar. He is, yeah. Just pulled

back a player, has to be careful. Can't really play football when your

head is on fire. Michael Hector was very nearly a Crystal Palace player.

All set to move to Selhurst Park last summer. On the day he thought

he would join, Chelsea got in touch. He was a Chelsea fan as a youngster.

Ledley... Yannick Bolasie with the follow-up shot. As a Chelsea fan,

Hector said there was me one choice to make, it was done at the last

minute, signed up by Chelsea, and then back at Reading for the season

on loan. Nothing to do with the money. Two chances, Ledley, a bit

unlucky. Bounce Tommy Armour, thought he would be injured. Bolasie

with the shot. Bolasie, desperate to get back to Wembley. Missed out on

the Championship play-off final, an unused substitute that game. --

bounced off his arm. The service hasn't been great. They

do play rugby union on this pitch as well. Is it London Irish? They are

in the United States in New York at the moment, giving the pitch a

breather. Palace are looking to become the

first side to beat Reading here since the turn of the year, nine

unbeaten at home. They are holding Palace off at the moment.

Joel Ward is joining in the attack and Adebayor wants it and gets it.

Away by McShane. A little bit unfortunate. You could see what

Adebayor was trying to do. Cox has got the better of Delaney. He has

very little support. Quinn has two chase after it on the far side. It

all fizzles out for Reading. For a moment Delaney was in trouble. Cox

did absolutely fantastic. In the end, that was a waste for Reading,

certainly. Mike Dean just having a word with Delaney on the edge of the

penalty area. Don't see a lot wrong with that.

Momentarily won back by Ola John. Zaha faced with Jordan Obita.

Frustrating, isn't he? Just has the ability, Zaha, to ghost past people

and make it look really simple, and then he goes and gives the ball

away. The easiest thing is to pass it easy. Sometimes as players, he

doesn't realise how much ability he has, which is why he has gone back

to Palace after being at Manchester United. Zaha is racking up some

appearances, still only 23 years of age. Still has the chance to learn.

Forward by Gunter. Now it's Reading's turn to move the ball

around. Ricochets away off Joe Ledley. Hector losing out and now

it's Adebayor and it could open up here! Adebayor brings a save from

Ali Al-Habsi. McShane straining every sinew to try to make the plot.

Al-Habsi did well. You knew Adebayor was going for the far corner but the

pressure from Paul McShane made all the difference. Ten minutes to go to

half-time here. Al-Habsi looking less than comfortable on the goal

Three things to point your way coming up on the BBC. Football Focus

first up at ten past 12 tomorrow on BBC One. Then more live action from

the FA Cup. Everton against Chelsea from 20 past five. Then we have the

draw for the semifinals which will take place during The One Show on

Monday at around 20 past seven. That is a big game, isn't it? Everton

Chelsea. For both teams. It is, particularly with Chelsea's exit

from the Champions League. He's not a new owner at Everton because he

owns less than 50%, but the new investor. Robson-Kanu now with the

chance to take on Souare. John heads to the far post. Given away. Nor

Gunter. Ola John! The best effort from Reading so far. They will get a

corner. Just look at Hennessey. When the ball eventually comes to Ola

John, Hennessey is rooted, absolutely rooted.

Ola John certainly a player in good form. He's scored in two of their

last three matches, including a cracker against Huddersfield here.

He's in no hurry, he knows what he wants and he knows what he's doing.

Here come Reading again, McShane in a real tussle! Hector tries to blast

it. Zaha will Claye. A good block by Palace. McShane has been a threat in

the penalty area a handful of times in the first half.

Touch from Bolasie, loose. It isn't really a pitch for one touch, is it?

Quinn, away from the traffic and into space, Jordan Obita now with

space to run into. Ola John just ahead of him inside and Simon Cox in

the centre as well. Cabaye closed him down well. Palace have worked

really hard going backwards as well, haven't they?

He just dragged that out. One step over too many. The crowd complaining

that we could see that from the other side of the stadium. Just

going into the last five minutes of this first half now. I just think

Reading have coped really well with Palace. Palace have loved the team

more likely to score, a couple of good opportunities and good saves

from Ali Al-Habsi, but Reading still very much in the game. Jedinak

looking for Bolasie. Up towards Simon Cox. Ola John

sprinting clear ahead of him. Gunter has gone ahead. Quinn will

chase. Hennessey made an absolute mess of that! Ola John can't get it

inside the post. Just have a look on the replay. He's a little surprised

the ball has dropped to him. I don't know what Hennessey is trying to do.

Look where Quinn is. You will probably see it here. If you look

where Quinn is coming he takes up a great position. I want to say if you

look where Quinn is... You might seem on this one. He's just there.

Play him in! Has played well in the cup so far,

Hennessey. Made a couple of good saves against Harry Kane in the last

round. He had that blip in January, mistakes against Aston Villa and Man

City that the manager picked up on. Cabaye with the shot! Very, very

unlucky. Split-second decision. Just a little too much outside the boot

but otherwise that was 1-0. It would have been a goal out of nothing. It

was a lovely piece of improvisation from Cabaye. Very nearly leading to

the opening goal. The last couple of minutes of the

first half. Not expecting too much added time, a minute or so. Cabaye

left limping after a challenge. Ledley first time, Yannick Bolasie,

I Lamela is for Reading here! Good save! Ledley fluffs his lines. --

alarm bells for Reading here. Bolasie did the classic thing,

slowed his man down, went past him. You kind of think he's taken

unawares, but he's in the middle of the six yard box, you should be

expecting the ball to come to you. It came back at Joe Ledley pretty

sharpish, there. Good save by Ali Al-Habsi. The rebound may be not

quite as much of a good chance as I initially thought. Good sighting at

goal for Joe Ledley, though. Well, is a left-sided midfielder... There

are a couple of blokes in the studio who would have scored that! Mind

you, they are both in their 50s. Here is Bolasie again, in the thick

of it. Crystal Palace finishing the first half strongly here. Inside the

last minute of the opening 45. Joel Ward goes down and it is a way of

either boot of Quinn. Hal Robson-Kanu can't find Ola John.

Again Crystal Palace working hard. This is Adebayor on the near side.

Certainly keeping McShane busy. Like a boxer holding him at arm's-length

dubbed yellow he was. -- like a boxer holding him at

arm's-length. He concedes the free kick. I think

Palace will feel that last chance should have gone in and they should

be in front at half-time. We've just about had our 45 minutes now for

this first half, and just one additional minute.

Little to choose between the two. More threat from Crystal Palace in

this first half but Reading still very much in the tight. No doubt

about it whatsoever. The last 30 seconds of added time.

Gunter was looking for Zaha. He has had quite a tough first half, Jordan

Obita. Souare underneath this. If Simon Cox had been running forward

there, that would have been interesting. Scott Dann looking for

Yannick Bolasie, the last few seconds before the break. Bolasie a

little overenthusiastic. He just bears down on you all pace and

power. He is a real handful. Mike Dean blows the half-time

whistle. All square at the break and Brian McDermott's Championship side

very much in this FA Cup tie. A good chance for Joe Ledley shortly before

half-time and Yannick Bolasie causing also to problems as well,

including hitting the side netting. A saver or two from Ali Al-Habsi. At

the other end the real threat has come from Ola John on a couple of

occasions, his best effort into the side netting as well. A full house

here and at half-time all to play for in this quarterfinal of the FA

Cup. 0-0. Many more beards than goals! Overall

there were a few opportunities and Palace probably slightly edged it? I

would be a bit disappointed going in there not to have taken a couple of

those for Palace. From that point of view, they put Reading under

pressure. Bolasie, Zaha. Overall, as you would expect, Crystal Palace

have better players, don't they, Steve? Yes, and in 45 minutes they

have had the better chances, but to be fair to Reading, they have hung

in there and they have now made it a 45 minute game, which has to be the

number one target when you're playing better opposition. Brian

will be quite happy. They've had chances as well. This could go

either way. It could. I would like to see Reading be a bit braver and

get a few more players up to join Simon Cox a bit more and maybe try

and get a goal. Steve shaking his head at that, not sure? You can't

just sit and wait to get beat. With the personnel, they don't really

have the creativity. If Matej Vydra comes on for half an hour... The

substitutes might change things. Hennessey has only really had one

thing to do and he is nervous and they have not put him under any kind

of pressure. Crystal Palace have certainly had a couple of decent

opportunities. I think when you look at Palace, you expect them to have

that, with Bolasie ends Saha doing their stuff. -- Bolasie and Zaha. He

could have lifted their body was running out of space. Once he gets

in self going, you can see he's going to get it onto his right foot.

Highbury, you would have buried that in the far corner! Do you not think

he waited a little bit too long? I think he's trying to be a bit

precise because he's a bit rusty but it was a good effort. This was a

good effort as well. He's hit the target. It has come back a bit quick

at Ledley. He's hit the target. You don't want to get to a point where

you start to get anxious because you're getting these chances and not

scoring them. Palace have played decent by half-time. It comes back

to him on his wrong foot. We've seen Palace do this they love, play well

at times in games and not score the goals. It has been their main

problem this season, strike is not scoring goals. The threat from

Reading, if there has been won, has been down the left with Ola John.

Both wide players. I know Alan had a lot of respect for the width that

Reading had and he was setting up in the week for trying to double up in

these situations. Tremendous skill here and he just over complicates.

People in the middle waiting for it to come in. It's one of those... You

thought they would do this a lot more often, just it in there. Will

Wilfried Zaha, he might not want to get back with him, so he can have a

go at Joel Ward if they get the ball to him. He has the beating of him,

that is for sure. He's been the real threat for Reading. He's got quick

feet and he likes to get in the final third. He could have done

better with that. He just ranks it a bit. Just doesn't quite get it out

of his feet. He is the one who can cause Palace real danger, I feel.

They've had a lot of problems with their goalkeepers, Palace. Between

him and McCarthy, I remember Alan Pardew saying at one stage he is

going to have to have a look at them, he might have to change them

around. Crystal Palace have a threat down their right hand side. A lot of

good play has come down that right-hand side, partly because of

Ola John being so high up, it gives them freedom down there to isolate

the full-back. Of course Bolasie being in a central role, he's

drifting all over. This is him popping up on the right. The final

ball, his touch let him down a bit and he has played that blind really,

he hasn't had a look. Zaha is always a threat. He can cause anyone

problems with that pace and directness. He feeds Bolasie again.

Again it's about the quality into the box. This one is a better ball

and good defending at the back post. What you want is to make sure that

when they do that, people like Adebayor, you want him to be getting

right up there quicker and Bolasie, get up there quicker. This cross is

just got too much on it. It's just got a little too much on it. It's

like the cross from Bolasie, you just want him to slow down a bit and

wait for somebody. Bolasie is quite hit and miss, isn't he? Yes but you

just go with that because he is so powerful and he can create so much

for the team. The wide players from both sides have been the most

creative parts of the game. Palace are without doubt one of the best

counterattacking teams in the country and that is why they have

had such good away form. Possibly his wrong side. He will get in

situations, he will spread people right across the line and in

one-on-one situations you just don't want to be there. At the moment they

just haven't had the final ball. Lots of possibilities but that

killer final ball which has always been the Palace fans's criticism of

Bolasie and Zaha... Steve, you've managed both these sides. What would

you say to the various teams now if you were in there? For Palace, you

couldn't ask for them to do anything differently because that is just

their make up, that is the way they play, their DNA. It's all about

counterattacking, quick. I personally would get the ball to

Zaha, because when he spreads the play out wide and isolates Jordan

Obita, it opens up space for everybody else. For Reading? Hang on

in there? It's more than Hang on in there. Before the game everyone said

they were big underdogs but they didn't feel so and now they will

feel justified, "We're in this game. Tomorrow we are at Goodison Park to

bring you the quarterfinal tie between Everton and Chelsea. In the

1980s, Everton featured in the FA Cup final four times, and Peter Reid

played in of them. -- in three of them. I fulfilled a dream. I got

paid to play football. Council house lad, won trophies, the FA Cup,

played for England. School boy's dream come true. There's something

special about coming back, the aura of the place, it evokes great

memories. As you know, they can't take memories away from you. Peter

Reid, the players Player of the Year, has been a major influence

since signing from Bolton for ?60,000. And yet as a youngster on

Merseyside his colour was read, not blue. I can't play there! My mum had

the right idea, she was and ever Tony, I should have followed her! --

she was an Evertonian. I remember Young Peter saying how could you be

an Evertonian! I remember going to my mum's and

there had been a bit of speculation and I said I had signed for Everton

and he couldn't speak! It's Everton Football Club, here we go! We got

down there and we had had a view to many Sherbert is on the coach. The

late Terry Wogan had a word with us and said lads, could you take it

easy? I can't watch this! I'm sorry, I

can't watch it! As a player, the hardest thing is that first trophy.

We went on to play Watford in the final and Elton John was chairman

and there was razzmatazz, but from our point of view we had to win it.

The support was galvanising. COMMENTATOR: The cross headed half

away and Stephen's shot and it's a goal for Everton! Sometimes you have

to dig things out and we had an art of bigging things out. Graham Sharpe

waiting in the centre. The goal is given! 2-0 up and no disrespect to

Watford who were a fine side, we knew we were going to win it and it

was like a carnival at Wembley Stadium. 84-85, that is the summer

after. The FA Cup there and then the next few years that is when all the

trophies came. That was the first one. A magical moment for

Evertonians everywhere. That winning and getting that medal which I've

still got in my cabinet now, still look at it, when you fulfil a

schoolboy dream, does anything get better than that? No!

Great man, great player. Love Peter Reid. We should have played

together! One of the real characters of the game. And a real player. He

didn't look comfortable in possession but he very rarely gave

the ball away and he trundled around the pitch and made a real impact

every game. You would have enjoyed watching that Everton team as you

grew up? I enjoyed the 86 final! I did for about an hour! That was one

of my early memories. That was a great Everton side. We start early

watching this. The guys in the studio saying Reading are very much

in this game, which they are, at 0-0. How can they win it in the

second half? I'd like to see a bit more commitment on the flanks.

Gunter did well down there and the crowd were really lifted by it. Go

and test your opponent. We've seen Leicester in the Premier League,

it's the year of the giant-killing, why not Reading to night? They've

got to go and win it. They've got to test their opponents. But I feel

it's only a matter of time for Palace to school on the break. But

it's difficult, Hector is on a booking and they have to make sure

they don't get undone by a very good Palace team. That's the problem,

that risk and reward. Palace so quick and so good coming forward.

Test them. On this right side we've got nearly 100 caps, the two Welsh

boys. I think they are good enough to test them. Jordan Obita and Ola

John on the left as well, get forward and believe in yourself. You

have to dream in football. They will go for it in the second half,

surely. Maybe they were holding off and now they will really go for it

and Matej Vydra could come on? I believe Matej Vydra is the man and

I'm sure Brian will contemplate bringing him on. He's scored six

goals in this competition already and he could be the man to win it

for Reading. The players of the future here. Oscar, one chance! In

off the post! A magical goal. We hope for a view more of those in the

second half. Great goal but those youngsters, don't bother to close to

Martin Keown, he could turn round and whack you! Here is the story so

the fact that he has not started at all in the league for Reading this

season. The thing about that is that he might only last 65, 70 minutes. A

good chance we might see Matej Vydra, the FA Cup's top scorer, at

some point in the second half. I would have thought so.

They have been good on the road in the FA Cup in the last couple of

years. They have won five of their last six ties away from Selhurst

Park. They have certainly carried the greater threat so far in this

game. He has got into two crossing

positions at the start of the first half but neither ball has been

particularly good, delivery wise. He wasn't playing anywhere in the first

part of the season but has been able to get up to speed pretty quickly

for Crystal Palace since his arrival. In all honesty, he looks

fit, doesn't he? I thought he would struggle. Crunching challenge from

Cooper. He's never going to change his mind,

is he? The referee. He has followed through on him a little bit, hasn't

he? An opportunity for Yohan Cabaye perhaps to cause a few problems.

This is virtually the same as the one he had in the first half, isn't

it? Distance, absolutely everything. Cabaye income ahead on by Dann! By

think a cool head by Paul McShane to allow it to bounce to the

goalkeeper. I think you did brilliantly. He thought about

launching it and in that time, I think Al-Habsi said something. Give

him the benefit of the doubt. Ironic cheers greeting the decision

to give the home side the free kick. Where is Cox going to go? He's on

the halfway line and 40 metres from your goal. Scott Dann is the joint

top scorer for Palace this season with Connor Wickham and Yohan

Has to be careful, just play the ball. If it's a foul, the referee

will still give it. Why ask, if he's not given it? Alan Pardew's first

match as Crystal Palace manager came in the FA Cup last season. At Dover,

Scott Dann scored a couple of goals in a 4-0 victory for Palace. They

will want him to be a threat on set plays in the second half. You would

say given the mess at Newcastle at the moment, Pardew got out at the

right time. Palace on the front foot at the moment. The assistant

couldn't see for a pile of bodies, in fairness to him. Don't mention

blame him for it. Soft penalty, soft goal. Well, Alan Pardew has had a

bit of bad luck in the cup final in the past few years. He probably

thinks there is some kind of justice, although it was a penalty.

So, Reading don't have very long to put this right and to keep

themselves in the competition. What have they got left in the tank in

the final minutes? Inside the last five, inside the last four in fact,

plus added time. Palace struggled to see out the game last week at 1-0.

They will be hoping to do better this week. Now Bolasie. Suddenly

Palace tales are most definitely up as they swarm around the Reading

of those where you know what he's doing and he still does it. -- great

Palace will be feeling better about themselves. A season which has

shaken up so well. At Christmas they were only out of the top four on

goal difference. I think over the course of a season your luck does

even itself out. Looking to get it the ball rolling again for Reading.

They have not threatened Wayne Hennessey's goal for quite a while

now. Inside the two minutes of the 90. Williams trying to force his way

through and he gets a free kick and that will be a yellow card for Mile

Jedinak. Daft, he is running away from the goal. Absolutely crazy from

Jedinak. Just let him run away from the goal, it's easier. One last

helpful ball back. I mean, Bolasie makes the most of it but he has

touched him against his chest. What a daft penalty. Well, it is

My choice of Man of the Match... I think I'm probably going to give it

to Ali Al-Habsi. He has basically kept Palace out for most of the

game, he just got a bit unlucky with the penalty. Deniss Rakels with the

John. This election is off Wilfried Zaha. Ola John once more. -- a

deflection. Reading looking to create some late drama. Not a bad

ball. It invades everybody in blue and white. Bakary Sako with a chance

to bring it clear. Adebayor with time and space and support in the

centre. Campbell has just come off the bench, now Zaha. Can they

finished the tie off here? He did extremely well, Stephen Quinn. Kept

Match. Not too many choices, in all honesty. Of course the onus was on

Crystal Palace as the Premier League side here, but they have made the

running in this game. They have, it's just the manner of the goal

that Reading have conceded which will really hurt. Crystal Palace

Will his goal tonight be enough to send Crystal Palace back to Wembley?

This would be their first -- this is their first quarterfinal in over 20

years. Quite a view of the home crowd starting to disappear at head

of the final whistle. Palace have the ball right where

the Emirates FA Cup this season. They will go to Wembley. We will

Crystal Palace much the better side? Absolutely, they graded all the

charges. I think in the end quality just came through. The penalty was a

soft one. But in the end I think on chances Palace to serve to win the

game. Steve? Yes, persistent quality is the way you would put it. A great

chance for Ola John in the second half but all in all, you would have

to say thoroughly deserved victory, if not by the route that everyone

thought. A much better performance by Crystal Palace in the second

half. I thought Reading were better as well in the second half, which

created a better spectacle for all of us and contributed. Overall you

have to say the best team has gone through and that crucial moment

changed it. It made a massive difference. Crystal Palace fans

enjoying their evening. It's been a tough year for them in the league

but if the FA Cup they are striding towards Wembley. Fantastic

supporters, aren't they? They are brilliant. We were just talking

about them, 4000 of them there. They have changed and gone to another

level, the Palace fans. They will make Wembley and unbelievable

tonight? Yes, we knew we would find it tough. It was tough. I think

Reading are a good team, good players. The atmosphere was good.

But we have done the job. We wanted to get a clean sheet, at least to

get the replay at home. We have done the job and now we are in the semi.

For us it was the most important. What does it mean to you as a player

and as a team to be on the way to Wembley for a semifinal? It is nice

to play for that competition. I had the chance to win the French cup. It

is amazing to win something. So now one step closer to the final. We are

in the draw on Sunday. We have to wait. But hopefully we can go to the

final. The draw is on Monday, make sure you watch it on the BBC! And.

Let's bring in Ali Al-Habsi. You are our Man of the Match. It's one of

those, you don't want men of the match and to be on the losing side.

Yes, it's always a bit difficult. It was really tough for us. We played

on Tuesday away from home against Huddersfield. We just had two days

recovery. But we come here to the quarterfinal and we have been great,

the support has been fantastic all season. The fans have enjoyed a run

in the FA Cup. When you get none of the match you hope to have a much

better result. But I'm happy with myself and I'm happy with the team.

We were very close to Wembley but these kind of games, you have to be

very focused for 90 minutes. Two goals, Redcar, it was always going

to be difficult. We have to concentrate on the league now. You

had a hand on both goals. You had a very good view of the penalty. Was

it harsh? I knew he had two or three penalties in the middle, so I

stayed. Always the penalties would be difficult. Hopefully we have

another good run and this season we have been fantastic at home, we have

been brilliant. Very disappointed. To get to Wembley is not every time.

But we have to concentrate now. You have won it before but not this

year! Thanks for talking to us. He certainly had a horrific game and

played his part, that is the shore. We have to get to the penalty. What

did you think? I thought he would have got to the ball. Alan Pardew

will know all about soft penalties and I bet he won't complain about

this one! But he has stopped him. He's touched him. In this day and

age you're going to give that. He steps into him and it's a deliberate

blog. So you have to say... I would still try and get on that to finish

it. If you get a touch, you go down, these days. It's easy with the slow

motion... But when I saw it fast, it was. He is unlucky with that

penalty. Cabaye is clever going down the middle because most keepers want

to be the hero and they will dive to try to make a save. Ali Al-Habsi

almost gets it. At least it's something that the penalty wasn't

the only goal of the game. Having said that, obviously on the

counterattack. Wilfried Zaha got the ball and people were saying go to

the corner flag. He has taken a couple of players out and then that

as is just class. I would have done a bit more to try and finish that!

The pass from Adebayor is just brilliant vision. That is nice,

bank! I thought Alice deserved it, unlucky

for Reading. Matej Vydra did well when he came on. Overall, Reading

Gallant? Yes, I think they will be satisfied with what they have done

but bitterly disappointed. And a handicap because they were playing

on Tuesday night. It put them at a disadvantage. But overall terrific

performance and they could have nicked it as well. A real lift for

Palace's season. They needed it. I think those supporters deserve it.

I've been there a couple of times this season and the place is rocking

even when they are playing badly. Fantastic supporters. Things could

have been different. For me he has two had that back to where it's

Brom came here and got beat. It was a tricky tie because the intensity

in the stadium was great and Reading were good today, but we were really

good and I'm pleased we came away with the second goal, that was

important. Watching your frustration coming must have thought with ten

minutes to go this was heading for a replay? Yeah, well, we'd thought the

goalkeeper must have been men of the match today. He was, yes. He was

tremendous. We did the process today. Something we have not done in

games but eagerly well, seen it through to the end. We got a

deserved victory and we confine ourselves in the semifinal and we

can really look forward to it. Can that really make a difference? Can
