After an eventful start

to the Emirates FA Cup third round,

we've got four more ties

for you tonight, including

the holders Arsenal,

eight-time winners Tottenham

and Newport County, who are one

of the lowest ranked

teams in this round.

And there's no lack of cup

experience between my two guests,

Kevin Kilbane and Mark Lawrenson.

We begin at the City Ground,

where Arsenal began the defence

of their title at two-time winners

Nottingham Forest.

The Championship side

are without a permanent manager

after parting company

with Mark Warburton

on New Year's Eve.

This would once have been regarded

as one of the real glamour games of

English football but with Forest

having been out of the Premier

League for nearly two decades now,

today gives their younger followers

a taste of what used to be. This

outstanding. You would think he was

30 years old the way he played. We

spoke before, Arsenal lacked pace

defensively, but it was how he got

impositions, spinning continuously

into the inside left channel,

exposing weaknesses, getting chances

and able to seize opportunities when

they arose. Probably not the

quickest striker, I think he is a

clever striker, instantly on the

move. When he gets a chance like

this. One on one. Takes it across.

But for a good save from Ospina, it

could have been another goal. This

one, gets on the wrong side of the

defence, holds it up and because

they dropped deep at times, Forest,

they relied on Brereton to hold the

ball.

He stretched Arsenal, which is

the big thing, but also, by the fact

he got onto the end of so much, he

allowed midfielders to get into the

game and consequently the game was

opened up completely. It made such a

difference. In the end Mertesacker

and holding did not know how to

fire at the training ground which

did not help preparations. We had

illness throughout the camp. My

little one was in hospital last

night. We get this thrown at us but

they are an amazing group of players

and I am proud to be their manager.

possibility in the first 11. So, if

you take one player by one, we

should be much better and you have

it was a solid performance for us,

The game plan worked

brilliantly for 55 minutes and I was

their manager, I'd be saying they

can't keep it up for 90 minutes and

the gaps will appear. A couple of

bad players on the bench and it
