Leaving. After an incredible opening round of the Capital One Cup, there

is plenty for the second round to live up to. At this stage, 13

Premier League sides joined the party for their first taste of

knockout football this season. Steve Claridge will be delivering his

verdict and here is what is coming up tonight. Going strong, Bradford

had a chance to get one over on an increasingly vulnerable Leeds

United. We have the best of tonight's West Yorkshire derby

coming up. We look back on the dramatic events at Manchester United

against MK dons. One of the early season pacesetters, Millwall tug on

Southampton. We have all of the latest in news, views and 12 cup

upsets to keep you entertained. Before we take a look at the

matches, an extraordinary game last night. It had a 19 years since

Manchester United featured in the second round of the league cup. The

last thing Louis van Gaal and needed was an underwhelming performance

against MK dons. Carl Robinson may two changes with David Martin and

roundabouts, now has a football team to be proud of. Without question,

the finest night in the chequered history of Milton Keynes Dons. This

may not have been the full Manchester United team but they

still fielded seven internationals. 4-0 to the MK dons. Am I shocked? I

always analyse the game. And when I am analysing now at this moment,

directly after the game then I see we have made the biggest errors in

building up situations. When you do that, you always give the game away.

We understand the quality Manchester United possess and you respect the

opposition always. They have a top manager and people within their

ranks who can win any football match at any given moment. My players

deserve a lot more credit. They put their bodies on the line and it will

be a night we will remember and telling our grandchildren about

that. Not many people can boast the scoreline like that at home against

Manchester United. We have to build up a team, a new team. That is not

made in one month. It needs time, it is a process. We have to believe in

our philosophy and I hope the defence will believe in that

philosophy. Louis van Gaal taking the longer term view but hardly

surprising all the headlines have been about Manchester United. You

were there, we have got to give MK dons virtue! To beat a side with six

internationals with relative ease took some doing? As you said, they

were brilliant. First five minutes, United started brightly. MK dons

started to believe in their game. United did not put any pressure on

them and then they created space. Now they have a cutting edge which

they may not have had last year. They did cause United problems. You

are commentating on it to the radio, I thought you were going to

explode. You are looking at their play, ineptitude and borderline

disgraceful, why were you feeling so strongly about it? They were so poor

on the night and the system employed, they could not play it,

they did not understand what was asked of them. Jonny Evans giving

out the United manager. If that was your manager and you are coming up

to a 4-0 drubbing to a lower league side, what do you think? First of

all, you have been beaten 4-0, you decide to sign autographs. There

might be a foreign way of doing it, but first of all you go and shake

the other manager's hand. He might have tried to shoot trivialise the

performance or the competition, you don't know. Maybe those kids had

been waiting a long time for his autograph? There is a time and a

place. That was not the right time, you get in and sort your team out.

If I am a player, maybe that is the lead you don't want to say. If he is

taking it that likely, maybe that is why they don't. After a solid start

to the new season, what better for Bradford to play Leeds United, a

team seemingly in disarray. John Roeder was at Valley Parade.

around. Could that be the end of Dave Hockaday at Leeds United?

Bradford of League one have beaten championship side and near

neighbours, Leeds United to progress through to the third round of the

Capital One league cup. Leeds United knocked out. Trouble is mounting up

for Dave Hockaday, the manager. The two yellow cards were unnecessary.

Other than that, I cannot ask any more of my players. Fitness level

was super, work ethic was excellent. With not many minutes to go we had

taken the lead and we were starting to threaten. Felt comfortable with

pretty much come away with something then we have gone to sleep.

Disappointment for Dave Hockaday. To Bradford, well done to them, first

win over Leeds United in 28 years. Big man, little man up front and

they cancel each other out for the majority of the game, especially

going to sack him and then decided not to. You cannot run a club like

this? It is speculation, we don't know he was going to sack him. If

you employ someone, why would you employ someone, why would you sack

them after four games. You either don't employ them in the first place

or you give them a chance. On the evidence of the night, you could not

sack him because they gave everything. Now let's start at

Burton where they were hoping to extend their five match unbeaten

start against QPR who had lost their first two games of the season.

Burton pushed Fulham all the way to penalties at this stage last season

and QPR knew they were in a game. Dominic Nehls forcing the keeper

Aston Villa made seven changes including a debut for Joe Cole, and

it was his past but not Darren Bent in behind the back line but the

striker failed to test Gary Woods. In the second half, Ashley Westwood

was headed over by Nathan Baker. But they showed resilience whilst

demonstrating they could be a threat at set play 's. This delivery met by

Sunderland surged forward. Jozy Altidore had the first effort and

when the goalkeeper could not hold the shops, Johnson took his shot

expertly. Birmingham must have feared the worst. As Donaldson lost

possession, it happened. Birmingham's players were up field.

Wickham was presented with the type of chance he takes with his eyes

closed these days. Stalled hand alterations but still had named

internationals. Walters was able to school. The first-half was all Stoke

City. Paul Jones was already on the deck before reacting superbly to

deflect the strike of Robert Huth. Victor Moses could not be contained.

Portsmouth have still to lose this season and the League 2 side

them, they were very good and very consistent. They have been

goals. Gary has still managed to maintain consistency. For QPR, they

have only managed three shots on target in the last two games. There

was a veiled threat from Harry Redknapp. It was refreshing for a

manager to show how angry he was. He was not looking for any excuses to

hide behind. He said he picked a good team but they did not play very

Nathan Tyson took the spot kick and almost to the level of the football.

This ambitious effort was equally as venomous. It clattered the crossbar.

Watford would pay for changing lane of the line-up after their victory

over Leeds United at the weekend. This was a night that William

Wakefield will never forget. It was his first senior goal for the

teenager. Stuart Pearce already has Nottingham Forest filing. The shot

The future is rosy at Nottingham Forest. We have got a good squad

Northampton. They were almost rewarded after six minutes. The

Facing an informed League 1 side looked a tricky test for

Middlesbrough. This terrific free kick had Preston North End in a

flap. This header was his first goal for the crop. The cup tie had sprung

into life. The game was level for just 12 minutes.

The decisive touch came off defender Tom Clarke.

Two great goals from home and safe for Middlesbrough. Brighton were

soundly beaten in the travelling to Swindon Town three years ago.

With the matching extra time and all substitutes already use, Swindon

Town were reduced to ten men due to injury. The Spaniard was not

finished. Brighton were finally given some

breathing space. Even at 3-1, it was not plain sailing for the

championship club. There was still eight minutes left

Swindon Town to the recovery. Nathan Thompson was caught out on the

counterattack. The second penalty as accurate as is first.

The thing that stands out from me is that nearly every Brighton player

came to fight at the end. They told us what a thin plastic football team

we have. I know that Swindon a good football team and I was surprised

how good they are. They played some good stuff tonight and made it very

difficult for us. Scunthorpe United manager said he was gutted for the

players and supporters after this one. Another good opportunity came

and went for the hosts. The sting in the tail arrived five minutes from

time. Scunthorpe United failed to deal with the corner and Jake Taylor

pounced from close range. Before we start, just a quick heads up for
