The hello and welcome to day three of Wimbledon 2014. The home

:00:41.:00:49.

supporters are out in force of beakers today Andy Murray plays his

:00:50.:00:55.

second round match against Slovenia's Blaz Rola. Who is he? We

:00:56.:01:02.

will find out more about Blaz in a moment. And Andy Murray today is

:01:03.:01:07.

guest editor of the famous comic that the know. It comes after his

:01:08.:01:12.

unique achievement of walking out here two days ago as the defending

:01:13.:01:16.

men's champion. COMMENTATOR: You can only wonder

:01:17.:01:29.

what is going through Andy Murray's mind as he walks back out here onto

:01:30.:01:36.

this famous court. Stunning defence from Murray Mac. It is like he has

:01:37.:01:48.

never left this court. A great start to his defence. A firm hold on this

:01:49.:01:55.

opening match here for Andy Murray. He leads. What a perfect start to

:01:56.:02:07.

the defence of his title here. It does continue, and there is Andy,

:02:08.:02:22.

a sporting superstar and now a comic hero. Today he looks for a place in

:02:23.:02:26.

the third round. He was out practising earlier. But the crowd

:02:27.:02:31.

were here even earlier, some queueing overnight. This is his

:02:32.:02:35.

opponent today, Blaz Rola, who has never beaten a player inside the top

:02:36.:02:40.

50. Today he's up against three seed and defending champion Andy Murray.

:02:41.:02:49.

Venus Williams knows all about the big occasion. Grigor Dimitrov has

:02:50.:02:52.

been in form this summer but he has never been to the Wimbledon third

:02:53.:02:56.

round and he could be today. Beautiful weather again. We are

:02:57.:03:01.

joined by Tracy. Great to see you both. Tim, was it nice being on your

:03:02.:03:06.

hill? Yes, it was quite busy. There were quite a few squatters, I

:03:07.:03:10.

think. It is a great atmosphere and I'm sure it will get better and

:03:11.:03:17.

better. Apologies to Dennis. But he has been doing a comic book. Did you

:03:18.:03:21.

have any strange requests when you were grand slam champion and world

:03:22.:03:28.

number one? When I was 16 or 17 they asked to make a dollar out of me. I

:03:29.:03:32.

said, no! I am too young for that kind of embarrassed. It is

:03:33.:03:37.

interesting and looking at the comic, it is out there for the kids

:03:38.:03:41.

and that is what Andy wants, to be an inspiration to the young players

:03:42.:03:47.

here. Yes, and at this time of year there is obviously a massive

:03:48.:03:51.

interest in the game and him being here as defending champion, he has

:03:52.:03:54.

the opportunity to inspire a lot of young people and that is so

:03:55.:03:58.

important, the grassroots development to get the next

:03:59.:04:00.

generation coming through. He will be really chuffed being the editor

:04:01.:04:05.

of the Beano, and it is quite a good read, actually. And as far as

:04:06.:04:09.

American tennis, that looks like it is on the up. Getting better.

:04:10.:04:17.

Madison won Eastbourne and Coco Vandeweghe winning as well. We could

:04:18.:04:24.

always have more. We always used to having the champions at the top and

:04:25.:04:28.

with Serena 32 years old now, those will be big shoes to fill when she

:04:29.:04:32.

eventually retires, although it does not look like any time to sin. We

:04:33.:04:37.

have seen some of the stars arriving but let's see who we will be

:04:38.:04:38.

following here today. One wind down and six to go the

:04:39.:04:50.

Andy. The third seed is up on Court One at one o'clock. Top seed Novak

:04:51.:04:56.

Djokovic was in clinical form in round one but today will be tougher.

:04:57.:05:00.

He faces the check Radek Stepanek who beat Andy Murray on the grass at

:05:01.:05:07.

Queen's a fortnight ago. Grigor Dimitrov won the title at Queen's.

:05:08.:05:11.

This afternoon on Centre Court the Bulgarian faces a former Wimbledon

:05:12.:05:14.

junior champion, Australian Luke Saville. No one can beat Venus

:05:15.:05:20.

Williams when it comes to Wimbledon experience. The five-time champion

:05:21.:05:26.

first played here in 1997. She is on Court three against Japan's Kurumi

:05:27.:05:32.

Nara. Agnieszka Radwanska is another who thrives at Wimbledon. The former

:05:33.:05:35.

junior champion was the runner-up two years ago and a semifinalist

:05:36.:05:45.

last year. She is up on centre court against Casey Dellacqua. Play is

:05:46.:05:48.

getting under way on some of the outside courts. You can watch live

:05:49.:05:55.

tennis if you want. On Court Number Two that matches on the red button.

:05:56.:06:02.

And on Court number three, we were just talking about Venus Williams.

:06:03.:06:06.

She's not out on court yet but the 30th seed is out there. That is

:06:07.:06:11.

getting under way shortly on the red button. There are plenty of

:06:12.:06:16.

different ways for you to get in touch with us during Wimbledon. You

:06:17.:06:21.

can get all the latest news and features on the BBC website. Send us

:06:22.:06:26.

your thoughts and questions. You can also get involved on the

:06:27.:06:30.

conversation on the BBC sport Facebook page. Andy made an

:06:31.:06:35.

emotional return here to Wimbledon on Monday, walking on Monday,

:06:36.:06:37.

walking onto Centre Court as defending champion. He is his

:06:38.:06:44.

thoughts on the day. When I woke up I was nervous. If you don't have

:06:45.:06:47.

those nerves, sometimes it shows you don't care that much. I still have

:06:48.:06:55.

very high expectations of myself. I have a lot of pressure on my self.

:06:56.:07:00.

From the media perspective, it may have been a bit quieter over the

:07:01.:07:09.

last week or so. But for myself I have a lot to prove. Coming back

:07:10.:07:20.

onto Centre Court was a nice feeling. The reception I got was

:07:21.:07:32.

very nice. The only possible way that she could look good is if he

:07:33.:07:38.

wins it again. Expectation high from this Centre Court crowd. It was time

:07:39.:07:44.

to get on with it and stop worrying about what happened last year. I

:07:45.:07:54.

struck the ball very cleanly from the beginning of the match right

:07:55.:07:57.

through to the end. I thought that the level of tennis in the second

:07:58.:08:03.

and third sets was very good and I was just happy with the way I

:08:04.:08:09.

played. Sometimes you come out and feel great at the beginning of this

:08:10.:08:12.

tournament but it can take around auto for you to feel your way into

:08:13.:08:24.

it. -- around or two. COMMENTATOR: Andy Murray moves through swiftly. I

:08:25.:08:31.

was determined to get through. I'm looking forward to getting out there

:08:32.:08:33.

again. Andy was certainly happy with his

:08:34.:08:51.

performance on Monday and so were his hands. The commentator we heard

:08:52.:08:58.

there knows and he very well, he is his former coach, and he has been

:08:59.:09:01.

watching him practice today alongside Gabby. Mark, Andy

:09:02.:09:09.

Murray's first match appeared to be full list. It was a tremendous

:09:10.:09:12.

performance from him, given the fact that he could not really dictate or

:09:13.:09:16.

understand how he was going to feel before he got between the lines, but

:09:17.:09:19.

that was the one thing he could control and when he got out there

:09:20.:09:25.

and played, particularly in the opening set against David Goffin, he

:09:26.:09:30.

looked great. It reminded me of his final performance at Wimbledon last

:09:31.:09:34.

year. I thought he hit the tennis ball as well as I have seen him play

:09:35.:09:40.

all year. He's playing left-handed today. Does it really matter for a

:09:41.:09:46.

player of Andy's ability? It is positive rather than negative, for

:09:47.:09:51.

sure. He is something like 57 and 18 against left-handers. It has fitted

:09:52.:10:01.

into his style of play and it will do again today. I'm not sure that

:10:02.:10:04.

Blaz Rola is going to add his list to that name. James Ward was talking

:10:05.:10:12.

just earlier passing on a few thoughts. It is smart from Emily's

:10:13.:10:19.

point of view and Andy, in terms of him having hand experience of how

:10:20.:10:28.

plans place. But given Andy's experience on the big court, his

:10:29.:10:32.

style of play, he does not need to worry too much about what his

:10:33.:10:36.

opponents do. Especially when the opponent is saying, if I were to

:10:37.:10:41.

win, it would be a major upset. It would be. And it is trying to take a

:10:42.:10:45.

little bit of the pressure off. Any tennis player who goes in has to be

:10:46.:10:50.

optimistic. It is only a two horse race. But Andy's calibre, the way he

:10:51.:10:57.

started this tournament, puts him in as a favourite. We might find out

:10:58.:11:02.

what James was passing on to Abbey because we will hear from James

:11:03.:11:06.

later on. Talking about the left-handers, tell us why it is so

:11:07.:11:11.

good for Andy. His game matches up well and in some respects, you would

:11:12.:11:14.

not expect that to be the case because you do not get the chance to

:11:15.:11:20.

play left-handers that often. As Mark just said, 15 of his losses

:11:21.:11:25.

against left-handers have been against Rafa. From a serving point

:11:26.:11:30.

of view, and the likes the slow one and white witches into left-hander

:11:31.:11:36.

-- a left-hander's backhand. He can play strong with his backhand

:11:37.:11:42.

crosscourt to open up the backhand, and he feels very comfortable. I

:11:43.:11:46.

think it will be the case today. Tracy, every match tennis is

:11:47.:11:50.

difficult but Andy is going to be looking at the straw and thinking,

:11:51.:11:55.

this is OK. Yes, and I am just wondering, playing with Jamie

:11:56.:12:00.

growing up, Jamie is a left-hander, hitting a lot of returns of the

:12:01.:12:05.

lefty's server as well... But Andy looked effect. It is good to see him

:12:06.:12:10.

looking relaxed because he had to be thinking for a long time, what is

:12:11.:12:14.

this going to be like going out there the first day, the first match

:12:15.:12:18.

as defending champion? He got such a round of applause, it was wonderful,

:12:19.:12:23.

and then he just executed it. There is anyone person in the history of

:12:24.:12:29.

Wimbledon that has ever gone out... Let's dissect his game a little bit.

:12:30.:12:35.

You have been watching particularly the Andy Murray backhand. Yes. His

:12:36.:12:39.

ground strokes in general, when he's proactive rather than reactive, that

:12:40.:12:45.

is when he plays his best. A good barometer for that is his backhand

:12:46.:12:46.

down the line. That is a sign that he's confident,

:12:47.:12:57.

and we commentated on that first round match on the first day on a

:12:58.:13:04.

fresh grass court, he timed the ball impeccably. There were no misses

:13:05.:13:09.

from baseline. There he is stepping into it, really looking to dictate

:13:10.:13:12.

and that is a good sign. Sometimes when Andy Murray gets a little bit

:13:13.:13:16.

defensive, he gets pushed a little bit further behind the baseline,

:13:17.:13:20.

that is when he's reacting, he is letting his opponent dictate too

:13:21.:13:23.

much, and for me it was a fantastic start. And we've even lend he made

:13:24.:13:33.

him a bit more aggressive, and -- and with his previous coach, he made

:13:34.:13:36.

him a bit more aggressive, and it looks like he is continuing with

:13:37.:13:43.

that. Yes, but after we have seen in the last couple of years,

:13:44.:13:46.

particularly with his previous coach and I think even on the forehand

:13:47.:13:53.

side, hitting -- flattening the forehand out a bit, it is just an

:13:54.:13:58.

aggressive minded Andy Murray. And as you get older, when your identity

:13:59.:14:02.

not mind chasing down the balls and running and playing that defensive

:14:03.:14:05.

style of game but as you get older, you realise, it is a bit more fun to

:14:06.:14:09.

make my opponent is running, and that is where he is really

:14:10.:14:12.

understanding the weapons he has. He hits the ball so cleanly, every ball

:14:13.:14:17.

from the baseline. Why don't I make my opponent to the running? He pays

:14:18.:14:25.

-- when he plays at way he can beat anyone. How impressive was that? It

:14:26.:14:40.

is OK. I am surprised that his opponents do not take advantage of

:14:41.:14:43.

his occasional weakness on his second serve. I think he is the type

:14:44.:14:52.

of player that if people are not taking advantage of his second

:14:53.:14:56.

serve, he's just happy to kick it in the box and start the rally. When

:14:57.:15:00.

people are bit more aggressive, he will be more inclined to try to mix

:15:01.:15:04.

it up, hit the spot is a little bit better. The big question for all of

:15:05.:15:12.

us is who is Blaz Rola? You should be in the comicstrip! It sounds like

:15:13.:15:17.

a great name. Imagine the headlines tomorrow! But who is he? Well, we

:15:18.:15:25.

send Lee McKenzie out in search of a few answers.

:15:26.:15:34.

Do you know who Blaz Rola is? No, I do not. No, I do not. Is the famous?

:15:35.:15:47.

Do you know who Blaz Rola is? No, I do not. Has anybody heard of Blaz

:15:48.:15:54.

Rola? I am Blaz Rola. Nice to meet you. Not everyone has heard of you.

:15:55.:16:03.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. I am a 191 seed. I'm six foot four.

:16:04.:16:11.

I come from the small country of Slovenia. It is really small since

:16:12.:16:16.

it is only 2 million people. Very relaxed, very outgoing guy, lefty. I

:16:17.:16:23.

do not want to give my tennis techniques and waited and eat so I

:16:24.:16:29.

am going to keep this all to myself. You have a great match coming up

:16:30.:16:33.

against the reigning Wimbledon champion. When you find that out how

:16:34.:16:39.

did it feel? I saw that I potentially had Andy in the second

:16:40.:16:42.

round and it gave me so much motivation for the first round. It

:16:43.:16:49.

was a key factor in my first match. What more can act coming tennis

:16:50.:16:52.

player want? Playing in Wimbledon AKC defending champion, -- against

:16:53.:17:01.

the defending champion. It will be a great experience. Some fast facts.

:17:02.:17:06.

What is your favourite shot? Forehand. Favourite surface? Between

:17:07.:17:13.

play and harder. I would go with clay. Who is your favourite player?

:17:14.:17:20.

Roger Federer. Are you going to beat Andy Murray? On paper, no chance.

:17:21.:17:25.

But we know that the sport is not played on paper, and hopefully I can

:17:26.:17:31.

place an good tennis. Oh, we like Blaz Rola! The bit

:17:32.:17:42.

worrying when he -- a bit worrying when he says his favourite surface

:17:43.:17:47.

is clay or hard... No mention of grass! When you see how his game has

:17:48.:17:52.

progressed, he has broken into the top 100, he has been at college in

:17:53.:17:57.

the States, and he do not get into the top 100 without being a good

:17:58.:18:00.

player. Andy will have done his research and he will not take it

:18:01.:18:05.

lightly. He will execute the game plan and he will be fine. He played

:18:06.:18:11.

for Ohio State University and was the champion in singles and doubles,

:18:12.:18:15.

so he has some nice credentials from college into making it

:18:16.:18:20.

professionally. And it is that a big occasion for him. He on Court One.

:18:21.:18:24.

He has been qualifying at the French Open. He was on the Centre Court at

:18:25.:18:30.

Queen's club, but this is a new experience. This is the state where

:18:31.:18:34.

every kid that starts playing and has dreams of being a tennis pro

:18:35.:18:41.

wants to play. It is not start use della -- the largest state in the

:18:42.:18:45.

world but it is great. When you go out there, it is daunting and you

:18:46.:18:50.

feel the history, you feel all the former greats that have played there

:18:51.:18:56.

on the same court. At 1pm Andy Murray will be walking out. We are

:18:57.:19:02.

on BBC One right through to 1pm and then for the start of the match at

:19:03.:19:06.

1pm we moved over to BBC Two. Another match we are looking forward

:19:07.:19:12.

to seeing is Grigor Dimitrov, heading out onto Centre Court. He's

:19:13.:19:15.

playing well this summer and he has been put in the mix of a possible...

:19:16.:19:22.

Very much so. There has been a lot of talk about his game and King

:19:23.:19:27.

progressing up the rankings and he has been able to add a lot of

:19:28.:19:33.

substance. -- and King progressing up the rankings. He looks

:19:34.:19:39.

comfortable on grass. He is very aggressive from the baseline.

:19:40.:19:50.

Talented as well. Some shots not in the manual! A great athlete. He has

:19:51.:19:57.

been put through the mill. He says he wants to make him as physically

:19:58.:20:04.

strong as the top four. It is a little bit like when Andy came on

:20:05.:20:08.

the scene. There was a massive amount of attention even at the age

:20:09.:20:14.

of 17, 18, 19. He did not have the physique. His body had not mature.

:20:15.:20:19.

You could see how much stronger Grigor Dimitrov is getting and will

:20:20.:20:23.

get and it will add to his game. He moves very well. When he gets

:20:24.:20:28.

stronger, it will help his shots and movement and endurance. He is going

:20:29.:20:34.

to have better results on top of it. When he won the junior event, he was

:20:35.:20:43.

known as baby Federer. He hated it. He has gradually worked his way up

:20:44.:20:48.

the rankings. It seems it takes the men and women a little longer today

:20:49.:20:51.

because of the physicality, the transition from the juniors into

:20:52.:20:57.

playing at the top of the game. With Grigor Dimitrov, we have talked

:20:58.:21:01.

about his potential. We can see the magical athleticism he has. Now I

:21:02.:21:04.

think finally some of the pieces of the puzzle are coming together. I

:21:05.:21:09.

think we have to give a lot of credit to his coach, not only

:21:10.:21:16.

physically. Grigor Dimitrov is much more muscular and fit. But also I

:21:17.:21:20.

think he has made him believe and when we saw him play at Queen's, he

:21:21.:21:25.

was down match point and he was so engaged in every point and never got

:21:26.:21:29.

negative. We are starting to see, in my opinion, the mental part of the

:21:30.:21:33.

game come together as well. He believes he belongs at the top of

:21:34.:21:38.

the game. The mental side of things is probably coming from experience.

:21:39.:21:42.

He has been on the tour for a few years now. It works both ways.

:21:43.:21:47.

Learning from that. Now he looks much more comfortable in the

:21:48.:21:49.

surroundings of any tournament. Coming into a Grand Slam, his

:21:50.:21:54.

results in the Grand Slams have not be amazing, but he is young and he

:21:55.:22:00.

is looking for a big breakthrough. He certainly is. Looking forward to

:22:01.:22:04.

seeing him on Centre Court. We have had many famous people here over the

:22:05.:22:08.

couple of days. Today it is a royal occasion because at last year the

:22:09.:22:12.

Duchess of Cornwall is arriving here, being met by the chairman. And

:22:13.:22:22.

also one of your committee members, Tim. Glad to see them doing some

:22:23.:22:28.

work! The Duchess loves tennis. She was here last year and was

:22:29.:22:31.

introduced to many former champions and current players. This is the

:22:32.:22:35.

players' entrance so this is how they arrive as well. Straight onto

:22:36.:22:46.

the members' lawn. This is a big moment for many of the people who

:22:47.:22:50.

work here. She is going to meet some of the honourees duets and the ball

:22:51.:22:58.

kids -- the honorary stewards. The ball kids go through months and

:22:59.:23:03.

months of training. They do. They are here in the indoor courts for a

:23:04.:23:07.

long time before. They really get put through their paces and they are

:23:08.:23:12.

fantastic. They are so fast and efficient on the courts. It is a

:23:13.:23:16.

great opportunity for them to meet royalty as well. So cute. You know

:23:17.:23:23.

they are fantastic because you never even noticed them. They just do

:23:24.:23:27.

their job. Also with the heat they have had to put up with, it is tough

:23:28.:23:32.

on the players, but it is tough on the ball kids because they are often

:23:33.:23:37.

at there for longer than the players. They have chaperones to

:23:38.:23:40.

make sure they keep hydrated. They are running around a lot on the

:23:41.:23:46.

courts. It is hot. We don't want them getting ill or injured. The

:23:47.:23:51.

Duchess will be meeting honorary stewards and military personnel. It

:23:52.:23:56.

is a special occasion. It is lovely they have the royal box. Do they

:23:57.:24:02.

have anything at the US Open? We have the president's box but it is

:24:03.:24:07.

not quite as plush. I missed the fact that when we played we used to

:24:08.:24:11.

curtsy when we got to the service line. You liked about? I did. I am

:24:12.:24:21.

glad the royal box is still there. I hated the tradition I was so

:24:22.:24:25.

nervous. The first time, I played Chris Evert and I was more nervous

:24:26.:24:35.

about getting the curtsy right! You are absolutely right, when your

:24:36.:24:38.

opponent was coming on the court, there were so many times they would

:24:39.:24:41.

say to me, just help me through this. They were so worried about...

:24:42.:24:47.

Are you talking about the match or the bow? They were much more worried

:24:48.:24:54.

about the bank. Getting it right. And also... It was worth an early

:24:55.:25:00.

break of serve. We used to go off the court together when I used to

:25:01.:25:05.

play. They don't do that any more. Someone

:25:06.:25:05.

the court together when I used to play. They don't do that any loses

:25:06.:25:09.

and they are right off the court! The Duchess will also be meeting

:25:10.:25:14.

some players. Laura Robson, working for us because she sadly had to have

:25:15.:25:19.

wrist surgery. She is one of the new generation of young stars. She would

:25:20.:25:23.

love to be out there because she was doing so well, but still with that

:25:24.:25:28.

passed on her wrist. And that is a tough injury. Surgery on the

:25:29.:25:32.

electricity, her playing wrist, and you see that so frequently these

:25:33.:25:42.

days. -- surgery on the left wrist, her playing wrist. And she loves the

:25:43.:25:47.

big occasion and that you cannot teach. And also the fact that she

:25:48.:25:51.

has such weak weapons. It is just natural but she has that big lefty

:25:52.:25:56.

serve and the monstrous beforehand, so a great way of winning points.

:25:57.:26:03.

And Milos Raonic, one of the Canadian new breed and what serves

:26:04.:26:08.

he has got. He is a man mountain, isn't he? He is a big guy and he's

:26:09.:26:15.

coach has been doing a lot of work on his game. A couple of years ago

:26:16.:26:19.

he was very defensive, playing a long way behind the baseline, and

:26:20.:26:23.

all of a sudden, a bit like Andy Murray, he has got him playing a bit

:26:24.:26:28.

more aggressively and serving huge, which is good on grass, and he is

:26:29.:26:32.

really prepared to take risks and that is a big combination.

:26:33.:26:37.

Interesting that Wimbledon is his least successful Grand Slam. You

:26:38.:26:40.

would think that the big serves would be well-suited it. Yes, he has

:26:41.:26:47.

a big game but I think understanding how to move on the grass can take a

:26:48.:26:53.

bit of time. He is a big guy, he probably does not enjoy not having a

:26:54.:26:59.

short footing -- assured of fitting all the time. Hopefully he can

:27:00.:27:07.

transfer across his skills from play. And Sabine Lisicki. Yes, and

:27:08.:27:17.

this is where her game comes out the best. Another one with big weapons

:27:18.:27:23.

as well. Yes and she hardly wins matches the rest of the year

:27:24.:27:27.

sometime and then comes to Wimbledon, and her game is hugely

:27:28.:27:36.

suited. Who else are you looking forward to seeing today? Venus.

:27:37.:27:42.

She's 34 now. We talk about Roger at 32 and how much longer is he going

:27:43.:27:46.

to play the game? But the less we need to savour. And everything she

:27:47.:27:51.

has been through as well, health-wise. Absolutely. In the last

:27:52.:27:58.

two years her energy has been zapped. She has five five Wimbledon

:27:59.:28:08.

titles. She has had to fight with the illness but she still wants to

:28:09.:28:13.

compete. Every time she gets here to Wimbledon the crass kind of

:28:14.:28:16.

jump-start her game. She is very comfortable. It is odd,

:28:17.:28:17.

jump-start her game. She is very comfortable. about seven years ago

:28:18.:28:21.

we were thinking, maybe the motivation has gone for the Williams

:28:22.:28:33.

sisters, and they have done so well since. It is an area of the game

:28:34.:28:37.

that has changed. I do not know if it is training techniques or what

:28:38.:28:42.

but players are playing for longer. I stopped at 33 and I felt that was

:28:43.:28:47.

quite a long time, and you look back and think that Pete Sampras stopped

:28:48.:28:51.

at 30. You see now someone like Stepanek playing at 35. Hopefully

:28:52.:28:55.

they can stick around because people like Venus and Serena have given the

:28:56.:29:01.

game so much, they are great champions. Do you think it is the

:29:02.:29:05.

recovering process? They are so much better with eating and hydrating and

:29:06.:29:13.

in the gym and the physios and the travel with the trainer and the

:29:33.:29:37.

show you what is on court and particularly on the two show courts.

:29:38.:29:44.

Coming up at 1pm, Radwanska against Dellacqua.

:29:45.:29:54.

Boy, did Novak Djokovic look good on Monday. The top seed up against

:29:55.:30:00.

Radek Stepanek, who put Andy Murray out of Queen's. Andy Murray is on

:30:01.:30:08.

court against Blaz Rola on Court Number One at 1pm. Under the courts,

:30:09.:30:23.

Zvonareva will finish her match against Tara Moore, which was

:30:24.:30:33.

stopped late last night. Broady also from Great Britain is in second

:30:34.:30:36.

round action against the former world number one Caroline Wozniacki.

:30:37.:30:56.

Sergiy Stakhovsky. He is the man who put and Roger Federer last year --

:30:57.:31:02.

on Court 12. A little bit cooler today. Let us find out what we can

:31:03.:31:08.

expect later. It is getting pretty busy. Anybody

:31:09.:31:12.

in the queue this morning will testify to the fact it was a cold

:31:13.:31:17.

start to the day. As the cloud comes across and the breeze picks up, it

:31:18.:31:24.

feels nippy. In the sunshine, it feels warm. Breaking it down into

:31:25.:31:30.

the afternoon, sunny intervals prevail. We are not expecting

:31:31.:31:37.

showers or rain. Still be light winds. Cloud building. But fair

:31:38.:31:42.

weather cloud. Fairly innocuous. As we head into the evening, it is a

:31:43.:31:46.

very similar story. Once again, we hang on to the bright or sunny

:31:47.:31:50.

conditions depending on the cloud cover we have with light winds. But

:31:51.:31:58.

the pollen levels once again are very high. I am glad to say over the

:31:59.:32:01.

next few days they will start to go down.

:32:02.:32:08.

I was thinking the pollen levels had gone down because it seems so much

:32:09.:32:13.

cooler. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow for people who suffer from

:32:14.:32:16.

the pollen. We are looking forward to tennis. Andy Murray on at 1pm.

:32:17.:32:21.

Let us update you with what is happening on court to work Li Na who

:32:22.:32:29.

is seeded two is 2-1 down in the early stages of that much. You can

:32:30.:32:32.

follow it on the red button. But we are heading off to court

:32:33.:32:45.

Street to see Venus Williams. Five times the champion up against Kurumi

:32:46.:32:52.

Nara of Japan. Let us join our commentators. Anne Keothavong is

:32:53.:32:53.

alongside Andrew Castle. Venus Williams has made a lot of

:32:54.:33:17.

mistakes out here. She had 15-41 Kurumi Nara served from this and in

:33:18.:33:20.

the opening game. She lost it. Then she lost her serve to love. Break

:33:21.:33:22.

point. That is the break back achieved.

:33:23.:33:53.

Been as Williams, a five times champion of this champion tee

:33:54.:33:59.

tournament, a finalist in France and Australia as well. 34th birthday

:34:00.:34:07.

last week. Still ranked 31 in the world, number four in the US. Behind

:34:08.:34:13.

her sister. What a celebrated family they are. They have changed the face

:34:14.:34:17.

of the game over the last 12, 15 years. They really have. They are

:34:18.:34:22.

great role models for so many of the other players as well as young kids

:34:23.:34:29.

growing up looking to emulate their success. Their story is not legend,

:34:30.:34:39.

it is all true. They really did come from a very tough place where tennis

:34:40.:34:44.

was very unlikely to have been introduced into their lives without

:34:45.:34:52.

there being a sacrifice on behalf of the family. They have a lot to thank

:34:53.:34:58.

their father for, Richard Williams. Guided their careers from the start.

:34:59.:35:03.

Online some lovely footage of when they were very young together and

:35:04.:35:11.

practising. Charming. Destined. . They got it. -- destined for

:35:12.:35:15.

stardom. Kurumi Nara is the number one player

:35:16.:36:03.

in a nation which loves its tennis, Japan. First top 100 finished at

:36:04.:36:12.

number 76 at the end of last year, the year of her arrival, helped by

:36:13.:36:15.

qualifying and reaching the third round at the US Open. Still young

:36:16.:36:20.

and still learning the game and already at number 41 in the world.

:36:21.:36:26.

Not a pushover by any means for Venus Williams.

:36:27.:36:59.

The athleticism and the sheer wingspan of Venus Williams coming

:37:00.:37:17.

in, it has taken her to so many doubles titles with her sister, as

:37:18.:37:22.

well as the singles. 45 career singles.

:37:23.:38:08.

You just feel that Venus is starting to find her range, going hard and

:38:09.:38:16.

deep in the corners, well within herself, it is too much for Kurumi

:38:17.:38:19.

Nara. You have actually played her at this

:38:20.:38:41.

tournament. What he was that? That was in 2008 in the second round. On

:38:42.:38:49.

Centre Court, my first experience of being there. I lost that match. I

:38:50.:38:54.

just remember how hard Venus Williams hit the ball. I had never

:38:55.:38:58.

played anyone who hit the ball as hard as she did.

:38:59.:39:12.

And the intimidation factor? Yeah, it is up there. A player I looked up

:39:13.:39:20.

to and admired since I was a kid. It was more intimidating playing Venus

:39:21.:39:26.

and Serena Williams on the doubles court as well. That was scary!

:39:27.:39:54.

Just wide. She has got to look to take chances where she can. That is

:39:55.:40:01.

something Kurumi Nara likes to do. She likes to change the direction of

:40:02.:40:12.

play. At 5ft 1, she relies on foot speed around the court and timing.

:40:13.:40:24.

Just enough depth on the approach to make it difficult for the American.

:40:25.:40:40.

Taking the ball above the height of the net. Keeps Nara in the game.

:40:41.:40:54.

That is too good from Venus. Talk about holding your ground...

:40:55.:42:18.

That is quite a sight! Really taking the ball on. Beforehand was hit with

:42:19.:42:34.

such venom. -- the forehand. Excellent footwork from Venus

:42:35.:42:35.

Williams. Giving herself the space. It is away and Venus Williams has

:42:36.:42:49.

assumed control of this first set a tricky start. 24 minutes played. She

:42:50.:42:57.

will serve with new balls and a break in a moment.

:42:58.:43:01.

SUE BARKER: Venus Singh control on Court 3. On Court Two, the number

:43:02.:43:11.

two seed is in charge. Li Na is up. That is on the red button. She has

:43:12.:43:19.

another point to break serve there again. On shot. Sergiy Stakhovsky,

:43:20.:43:26.

he produces them. He is coming out to serve for the first set against

:43:27.:43:32.

bonus Gold list. Sergiy Stakhovsky put out Federer last year. Seems to

:43:33.:43:36.

be working well again this time. If you want to follow that match, it is

:43:37.:43:38.

on the red button. Back we go. Back on Court 3, the fourth largest

:43:39.:43:53.

court at Wimbledon after Centre Court, Court One and caught two.

:43:54.:44:01.

This has 4000 people. Word is going around there is an interesting much

:44:02.:44:03.

going on and one of the main stars is playing. She was in trouble. But

:44:04.:44:08.

not now it seems at 4-3 with a break of serve.

:44:09.:44:14.

UMPIRE: Ladies and gentlemen, take your seats, please. Day three of the

:44:15.:44:20.

championship, second round match in the Ladies' Singles.

:44:21.:44:45.

That is a powerful delivery. She has closed in on 130mph before. She has

:44:46.:44:53.

the fastest serve ever recorded in women's tennis.

:44:54.:45:13.

That is a bit of an issue. 65mph on the second serve. It would suggest

:45:14.:45:23.

that there is a bit of a problem with the ball toss. Bit of a problem

:45:24.:45:27.

with the ball toss, and I wonder physically how well Venus Williams

:45:28.:45:31.

is feeling out here. Last year she missed the event because of a back

:45:32.:45:37.

injury. She did take a bit of time getting out here. She was nine

:45:38.:45:38.

minutes late. Her 17th appearance at Wimbledon.

:45:39.:45:49.

You have got to love the game. We talk of Federer on the men's side.

:45:50.:45:55.

Venus has 17 appearances. No reason to stop coming, if you are enjoying

:45:56.:45:56.

yourself. Venus Williams got herself in a

:45:57.:46:17.

right mess there. Waiting for the ball to come onto her, connecting

:46:18.:46:18.

with it late. What an angle from Kurumi Nara! The

:46:19.:47:02.

Japanese player really getting up to the backend. Coming around the

:47:03.:47:06.

outside. Leaning all of the way through the shot.

:47:07.:48:04.

In your picture there in the white T-shirt is Kurumi Nara's coach.

:48:05.:48:22.

I feel like Venus Williams is just placing and guiding her serve into

:48:23.:48:31.

play. She has not really let loose as well as she can just yet.

:48:32.:48:41.

Ouch. UMPIRE: Miss Williams is challenging

:48:42.:48:50.

the call on the right service line. The ball was called out. Just long.

:48:51.:49:03.

Into the body. Second serve, when you challenge on your own first

:49:04.:49:07.

serve, you break the rhythm you have between first and second and it can

:49:08.:49:09.

lead to trouble. Five straight games for Venus

:49:10.:49:40.

Williams. Here is Court 3, it is where the old court to use to be,

:49:41.:49:45.

the graveyard of champions. A long history of big names losing. That

:49:46.:49:52.

was replaced by this as the club continues to update. There is a

:49:53.:49:55.

master plan that will see a roof going over Court One and much else

:49:56.:49:58.

besides. That is a very smart point from

:49:59.:50:22.

Nara. Using the forehand crosscourt very well, pulling Venus Williams

:50:23.:50:23.

off the court. Despite the slip, she still finds

:50:24.:50:43.

the space and gets the ball past Williams. She does not have an awful

:50:44.:50:50.

way Ali long way to get -- she does not have an awful way to get back up

:50:51.:50:55.

from. That is well done. It is no more

:50:56.:51:20.

than she deserves. To ask of Venus Williams to serve for the set. You

:51:21.:51:26.

have got to give it to her. She has come out here striking the ball as

:51:27.:51:28.

well as she can, taking her chances. That is the first part of the

:51:29.:52:04.

equation done. And now to hope Venus Williams misses a few first serves.

:52:05.:52:09.

That would certainly help. I think Kurumi Nara is a fun player to watch

:52:10.:52:14.

because of her size and her height. She really relies on good footwork,

:52:15.:52:19.

taking the ball early, on the rise, and also on serve, placement. For a

:52:20.:52:28.

lot of players, like you said, the shortest player in the top 100. The

:52:29.:52:34.

serve comes through very low. A long way down for Venus Williams. You

:52:35.:52:38.

have to make the most of natural attributes. If you are left-handers,

:52:39.:52:47.

you throw the ball out wide. I note her first serve percentage is 84%.

:52:48.:52:53.

For this match. 82% for the tournament. She is getting more than

:52:54.:52:58.

eight out of ten first serves them. This is a valuable statistic. Just

:52:59.:53:02.

look at this beautiful place, coming back over Wimbledon Park from

:53:03.:53:08.

central London, SW19. Doubles taking place for the first time today.

:53:09.:53:13.

Action all over Wimbledon on this first week. We have been blessed

:53:14.:53:16.

with some lovely weather. Just to the left of us, Somerset Row. This

:53:17.:53:28.

is Court 3. Opened in 2011. Upon it, Venus Williams, fives times

:53:29.:53:30.

champion, serving for the first set. The ball toss gets tired. I think

:53:31.:55:36.

she feels the pressure. We have seen it over a number of years. I mean,

:55:37.:55:37.

who doesn't? That is wide as well. This will be

:55:38.:56:41.

challenged. UMPIRE: Miss Williams is challenging

:56:42.:56:47.

the call. The first missed down the middle, this just missed wide, I

:56:48.:56:52.

think. There is the value of Hawk-Eye! What do we know? We need

:56:53.:57:01.

to get our eyes tested. I have and that is why I am wearing these. She

:57:02.:57:05.

gets a first serve for that. Big bonus.

:57:06.:57:26.

Wow! She got there eventually, but she did not start the point off in a

:57:27.:57:37.

positive fashion. She just rolled the first serve in at 68mph. Court

:57:38.:57:43.

Nara by surprise. Wonderful return off a quick 's

:57:44.:58:07.

first serve. Excellent example of Nara reading the serve and the game

:58:08.:58:12.

perfectly. Timing so well out in front of her.

:58:13.:58:27.

That is away. We seen plenty of breaks in this first set and there

:58:28.:58:37.

is another. After 40 minutes, five games all. This isn't -- this is

:58:38.:58:43.

enthralling. You get the feeling games all. This isn't -- this is

:58:44.:58:47.

enthralling. You get the if Venus Williams finds any sort of gear, she

:58:48.:58:50.

would be able to get through the match. But Nara is going nowhere. It

:58:51.:58:56.

is a nice contrast. It is just amazing to see Venus

:58:57.:59:13.

Williams so uptight out here. There is still so much tension in all of

:59:14.:59:17.

her strokes and her body language. She has not been able to relax at

:59:18.:59:19.

all. the net. She does like a good

:59:20.:00:32.

target. That is a sight to behold. I think the ball never arrived, and

:00:33.:01:32.

hence the misfit. Credit to the Japanese player, she's serving 85%

:01:33.:01:38.

of first serves. SUE BARKER: So Venus will be coming

:01:39.:02:03.

out to serve to stay in the set. We will be coming back for that. On

:02:04.:02:11.

Court Two, Li Na is in charge, 6-2. She won her second Grand Slam at the

:02:12.:02:16.

Australian Open this year. She has reached the quarterfinals at

:02:17.:02:18.

Wimbledon three times. That much is on the red button. And Ernests

:02:19.:02:31.

Gulbis has dropped the opening set to this man. That match also on the

:02:32.:02:47.

red button. Jamie Murray in your picture with his Aussie partner

:02:48.:02:59.

against the British. Back to court three.

:03:00.:03:09.

Venus Williams was ten minutes late on to court. She seemed nervous. She

:03:10.:03:20.

may be here for the 17th time and a five-time champion, but no one is

:03:21.:03:24.

immune to getting nervous when you want to win. Kurumi Nara, the

:03:25.:03:33.

Japanese player, is a formidable opponent.

:03:34.:04:10.

That is better, positive play from Williams. We haven't seen enough of

:04:11.:04:15.

it in this set just yet. Nara trying to give as good as she

:04:16.:05:09.

gets in this rally, but just one too many from Venus Williams.

:05:10.:05:31.

Third double from Venus Williams. And they are on big points, which

:05:32.:06:54.

suggests the tension is there. -- third double fault.

:06:55.:07:16.

This is a much more positive point from Venus Williams. She looks so

:07:17.:07:23.

much better when she looks to come forward and play across the tennis.

:07:24.:07:38.

Mid-court ball. Got the punishment. The sun could be a bit of a factor

:07:39.:07:49.

of the end that the Williams is serving from.

:07:50.:07:58.

So a tie-break it is, after 49 minutes on Court three.

:07:59.:08:30.

The serve getting Venus Williams out of trouble there. She is just

:08:31.:08:37.

struggling to find her rhythm out here, making everything look a lot

:08:38.:08:44.

harder than it should be. These two have never played before.

:08:45.:08:52.

Nara's tie-break record this year, she has played five, she has won

:08:53.:09:45.

four of them. Venus Williams has only played three. She has only won

:09:46.:09:46.

one. Well, she was there. A little too

:09:47.:09:57.

much on the volley. I've seen happier player boxes than

:09:58.:10:15.

that. The ball boy is significantly taller

:10:16.:10:44.

than our player here. Beautifully done. It is the

:10:45.:11:28.

variation on this earth, keeping an opponent guessing can be as

:11:29.:11:34.

important as the speed, the pace. And she looks so well drilled,

:11:35.:11:39.

doesn't she? So well practised. There is no way she's going to miss

:11:40.:11:46.

that, no matter what. So two very important point is coming up for

:11:47.:11:48.

Venus Williams on her own serve here.

:11:49.:11:57.

-- two very important points. Nara is very meticulous in how she

:11:58.:12:08.

prepares for her match and the way she goes about her training. She

:12:09.:12:19.

hasn't looked overawed by the occasion at all. Only ten places

:12:20.:12:25.

between them in the rankings, but in terms of an aura, especially at this

:12:26.:12:31.

place, you would imagine Venus would come on with something of an

:12:32.:12:32.

advantage of. OK, so now the business end of the

:12:33.:12:42.

set. Nara serving at 4-3. That is why as well. How quickly it

:12:43.:13:58.

can turn around, and how often it does in a tie-break. -- that is wide

:13:59.:14:05.

as well. The more experienced player will find a way. Uncanny.

:14:06.:14:59.

She had to work hard in this tie-break, Venus Williams. Set

:15:00.:15:01.

point. And it's away. It was most

:15:02.:15:30.

interesting, the second round match for Venus Williams. From 4-1 down in

:15:31.:15:36.

the tie-break to six points up. On the break, 7-6.

:15:37.:15:41.

She is not home and dry yet but that is the first set wrapped up.

:15:42.:15:46.

She is not home and dry yet but And she's off from running again. She

:15:47.:15:53.

was late to come out to the court, Venus Williams, and after the warm

:15:54.:15:58.

up, she went off again. Perhaps taking another comfort break. She

:15:59.:16:09.

will be is courted by one of the line officials, obliged to go with

:16:10.:16:20.

her. -- she will be accompanied. She was placing her first serve very

:16:21.:16:28.

well. Venus Williams' first set serve percentage not as high as her

:16:29.:16:33.

opponent's but doing a good job which she got into play.

:16:34.:16:45.

It felt like Venus Williams made a lot more than nine unforced errors,

:16:46.:16:52.

to me. I did not want to say! Whoever is doing this stat is very

:16:53.:16:59.

generous. We also want all the speed guns the service recalibrated to

:17:00.:17:05.

reflect the handicap of her age. Yesterday I went to the kids' zone

:17:06.:17:10.

and had a go of serving where the speed can is here and I'm not sure

:17:11.:17:13.

it is entirely accurate because I hit it as hard as I could and I just

:17:14.:17:19.

registered 60 mph, but there you go. Oh, come on! You can get higher than

:17:20.:17:27.

60 mph. That is what I thought. In Lea Valley there is a new tennis and

:17:28.:17:33.

hockey centre which was opened up. The first Olympic legacy site. The

:17:34.:17:39.

trainer has been called to court here. At the tennis facility, used

:17:40.:17:44.

for wheelchair event at the Olympic Games, they had a speed machine

:17:45.:17:48.

there. It is a community programme, everyone can come down for free, and

:17:49.:17:54.

so I was trying it out, so miss you. My arm almost fell off and it was 55

:17:55.:18:01.

mph. Perhaps it was the same one. So what is going on here, we wonder. We

:18:02.:18:07.

will try to find out. It is set to Venus Williams, that is what is

:18:08.:18:11.

going on on the scoreboard after an hour of play in the second round

:18:12.:18:12.

match. SUE BARKER: While the trainer

:18:13.:18:26.

attends to Kurumi Nara, we will take a look at what else is happening.

:18:27.:18:38.

Going well for Na Li, the Aussie open champion. That is on the red

:18:39.:18:47.

button. Over on court 12, Ernests Gulbis,

:18:48.:19:03.

the 12th seed, up against Stakhovsky is --.

:19:04.:19:13.

On court Eight, Jamie Murray and his Aussie partner 2-0 up against the

:19:14.:19:22.

Brits Evans and Ward. Andy will be due on Court Number One in just a

:19:23.:19:25.

few minutes so busy day for the Murray family. Back we go.

:19:26.:19:35.

COMMENTATOR: The Championships doubles are taking place all over

:19:36.:19:43.

the place. So many big names around. One of them Venus Williams. This is

:19:44.:19:47.

the fourth largest court and perhaps not surprise that at the age of 34

:19:48.:19:53.

now, Venus Williams, although she is the five-time champion, not surprise

:19:54.:19:58.

to see her scheduled on this court. I do not think so. This is one of

:19:59.:20:05.

her favourites -- one of the favourites amongst the players. It

:20:06.:20:10.

was known as the graveyard, though. When it was caught to in the old

:20:11.:20:16.

days. I remember her sister, Serena Williams, losing on this court years

:20:17.:20:21.

ago. You are young, because I can remember Joe -- John McEnroe losing

:20:22.:20:31.

on this court. You will probably not born. So, people just milling around

:20:32.:20:42.

on this court at the moment as we find out what is going on with

:20:43.:20:47.

Kurumi Nara, and if she's going to have back treatment you are allowed

:20:48.:20:54.

to go off court for that. Did not see anything wrong with her lateral

:20:55.:20:57.

movement or forward movement or serve at all, to be frank. I thought

:20:58.:21:02.

she was moving quite well out there. Certainly no obvious problems on her

:21:03.:21:09.

serve. UMPIRE: Ladies and gentlemen, Miss

:21:10.:21:20.

Nara is now receiving a medical time-out. Can Venus Williams still

:21:21.:21:29.

be a factor, deep into the second week? She has won despised times

:21:30.:21:33.

before. She still represents a threat when in great form and on

:21:34.:21:37.

grass. Nobody has won it more than her, even her sister. Is it possible

:21:38.:21:43.

to still be a threat? I think she will always be a dangerous player

:21:44.:21:46.

particularly on the grass because she has such a big serve, although

:21:47.:21:50.

she has not shown it to this so far in this match. I feel she has

:21:51.:21:55.

actually been holding back on her serve. But she still has the ability

:21:56.:21:59.

to play great tennis. We saw earlier this year she won her first biggest

:22:00.:22:07.

title quite a few years in Dubai. She beat Alize Cornet. She has an

:22:08.:22:17.

autoimmune disease which affects her energy levels, her muscles, she gets

:22:18.:22:24.

muscle ache, shortness of breath, and she has really had to adopt her

:22:25.:22:30.

training regime and diet. She has a mostly victim diet now and avoid

:22:31.:22:40.

sugar. -- mostly victim diet. And she is still capable of winning

:22:41.:22:45.

these matches but here at Wimbledon, I'm not so sure. We have

:22:46.:22:51.

a medical time-out for Kurumi Nara. She should be out in a couple of

:22:52.:22:55.

minutes' time, the Japanese number one. SUE BARKER: Venus just trying

:22:56.:23:04.

to stay supple. Not easy for her being left out on the court either.

:23:05.:23:10.

We will leave that and had to call one because Andy Murray will be on

:23:11.:23:13.

in a moment. We will keep you up-to-date with that and if you want

:23:14.:23:16.

to continue watching, it will be on the red button in just a moment. But

:23:17.:23:20.

we are heading over to Court Number One but Andy Murray's defence of his

:23:21.:23:24.

Wimbledon title started on Monday. An emotional return for the reigning

:23:25.:23:28.

champion. Let's hear how he enjoyed it. COMMENTATOR: He steps back out

:23:29.:23:44.

to Centre Court. Expectations high. Game and first set, Murray. Game and

:23:45.:23:53.

second set. A very firm hold on this opening match Andy Murray. What a

:23:54.:24:07.

perfect start. SUE BARKER: We heard how he enjoyed

:24:08.:24:15.

it a little earlier on, but we certainly enjoyed watching him in

:24:16.:24:19.

that match. And now all the attention is on Court Number One.

:24:20.:24:23.

Not everyone can be there so they have headed to the hilt with their

:24:24.:24:26.

picnic baskets, enjoying their day out in the tennis on the screen and

:24:27.:24:31.

hoping that Andy can put in another victory as well. People getting

:24:32.:24:35.

ready here on Court Number One. Everybody wanted to take their seats

:24:36.:24:39.

to welcome on Britain's reigning champion. That is the scene on Court

:24:40.:24:44.

Number One and team is with me once again, and John Lloyd. A great

:24:45.:24:49.

atmosphere. Britain have a defending champion. We felt it on Monday and

:24:50.:24:56.

you feel it here too? Absolutely. We found at the order of play and they

:24:57.:25:03.

are all saying, thank you very much. This court is almost as great as

:25:04.:25:08.

Centre Court and they will have a feast of tennis today. Andy is the

:25:09.:25:11.

man and came back on the first day and looked totally relaxed. He said

:25:12.:25:16.

he was nervous but did not play like he was nervous. You get over the

:25:17.:25:20.

nerves after the first few games. What we saw from Monday, he can be

:25:21.:25:23.

arranged happy with how he started his campaign. -- very happy. Yes,

:25:24.:25:30.

and the first round of any tournament is not always easy and

:25:31.:25:34.

coming back to defend the title, a home-grown player in the biggest

:25:35.:25:37.

tournament in the world, it was a lot of pressure. I thought he was

:25:38.:25:41.

very honest about it. He felt nervous the day before and was

:25:42.:25:44.

nervous the morning after and that helped him deal with it and when he

:25:45.:25:50.

went out on the court and got 6-1 in under half an hour, he struck the

:25:51.:25:55.

ball cleanly and it was a clean performance all round. Interesting

:25:56.:25:59.

he said he was nervous the day before and before the match

:26:00.:26:04.

defending his title. Before one I saw him, I asked him, did you sleep

:26:05.:26:10.

well the night before the final? And he said he did. Not nervous before

:26:11.:26:14.

the final but nervous to defend his title! Once he got going, as Tim

:26:15.:26:23.

said, he's so good. He was hitting the ball so cleanly and that is what

:26:24.:26:26.

you want to do in the first match. Lots of applause here. That is not

:26:27.:26:33.

the players, just the ball kids coming out. It will be the linesman

:26:34.:26:37.

and the umpire as well so there will be another two before we see the

:26:38.:26:40.

players. Tim, you know about build-up. It is often the worst

:26:41.:26:46.

thing. You had the hopes of the nation to carry and you want to get

:26:47.:26:50.

it out of the way. Yes, and when you look at the preparation, obviously

:26:51.:26:55.

losing early at Queen's, the actual fact, he had an extra four days from

:26:56.:27:01.

the week previously, so it was a big build-up. You talked about sleeping

:27:02.:27:05.

well before the final. I think that is because you have been in the

:27:06.:27:10.

event the 13 days, there is a lot of emotional, mental and physical

:27:11.:27:13.

energy used up. You're pretty tired come the last days, so in the lead

:27:14.:27:18.

up to this tournament, he had a lot of time to think about it and a lot

:27:19.:27:23.

of time to make sure his batteries were fully charged. A great start

:27:24.:27:29.

and a good way to open his account. Andy said that he did not sleep but

:27:30.:27:34.

Kim and Judy said they were restless. It is almost worse for the

:27:35.:27:38.

friends and family in the build-up. But this match today against Blaz

:27:39.:27:43.

Rola, ranked 92 in the world, it is not a bad draw the him. It is a good

:27:44.:27:53.

draw. And the player mode Can't wait for the headlines tomorrow! It is

:27:54.:28:02.

Hollywood. He has moved up more than anyone else in the top 100 so he's

:28:03.:28:08.

obviously on form. But he's playing with Andy Murray, let's be

:28:09.:28:13.

realistic, and he is a lefty. Andy loves playing lefties. And as far as

:28:14.:28:16.

his team is concerned, we have family in the corner that Danny,

:28:17.:28:21.

whom nobody really talks about, Danny has been in his corner for

:28:22.:28:27.

many years. And he does not get the credit that he deserves because he

:28:28.:28:32.

knows Andy better than anyone. They go back to the Academy days in

:28:33.:28:38.

Spain. He has been a common theme that the last seven or eight years

:28:39.:28:43.

and deserves a lot of credit. We are going to move channels. The players

:28:44.:28:48.

are just leaving the locker room. If you want to enjoy the tennis on this

match join us over on BBC Two. Buy buy.
