The quarter-finals of Wimbledon are no place for the faint-hearted. You

:00:48.:00:54.

need guts, skill and determination. You need to fight from first point

:00:55.:01:09.

to the last. No excuses. You have to be prepared to put your body on the

:01:10.:01:20.

line. Shot after shot, to the ups and the

:01:21.:01:25.

downs, whatever it takes, just get the job done.

:01:26.:01:27.

Fantastic. No way! How good is that? # You gotta fight for your right

:01:28.:01:31.

# To party... # Absolutely brilliant.

:01:32.:01:36.

It's a belter! This is fabulous stuff.

:01:37.:01:42.

Oh, glorious. Just superb. Wow! It's absolutely

:01:43.:01:50.

exhilarating watching these players. Oh, what is this tennis now? !

:01:51.:01:59.

So much to look forward to as it's men's quarter-finals day and a

:02:00.:02:06.

fascinate fact, as five of the eight men are in their first Wimbledon

:02:07.:02:09.

quarter-final, the other three are all champions - Murray, Federer and

:02:10.:02:16.

Djokovic. It promises to be a great day, Murray defending his crown,

:02:17.:02:20.

continuing that on Centre Court up against Dimitrov and, for the new

:02:21.:02:27.

star of Wimbledon, Nick Kyrgios, not much time to savour his win

:02:28.:02:31.

yesterday, he's back on Court One. A big day for Andy in this

:02:32.:02:35.

quarter-final match but he's cruised through the first four rounds and

:02:36.:02:38.

looks very much at home on the grass once again.

:02:39.:02:43.

Then so does this man, Grigor Dimitrov. He's on a nine-match

:02:44.:02:47.

winning streak having won the tournament in Greece. He's heading

:02:48.:02:54.

to the practise courts now. Novak Djokovic knows about the big

:02:55.:02:57.

stage and the big occasion. He's through to his 21st consecutive

:02:58.:03:01.

Grand Slam quarter-final. But this is the man, the newsen says, Nick

:03:02.:03:06.

Kyrgios. What a day yesterday, putting out Rafael Nadal. He is the

:03:07.:03:13.

new star, not just of Wimbledon, but of tennis. This man is tipped as a

:03:14.:03:20.

champion as well. The 23-year-old versus the 19-year-old! So much to

:03:21.:03:24.

look forward to. Special guests in the Royal Box today, the Duke and

:03:25.:03:27.

Duchess of Cambridge have arrived to take their place. What an order of

:03:28.:03:31.

play they have out here. Not only Andy Murray on court, but also Roger

:03:32.:03:36.

Federer. We know that the Duchess is a big

:03:37.:03:41.

tennis fan and plays a lot of tennis, and a big supporter of

:03:42.:03:44.

Wimbledon. It's lovely to see them here today.

:03:45.:03:55.

Before we get under way with the play, Well got two ladies

:03:56.:03:59.

quarter-finals to be completed because of the rain we had on

:04:00.:04:03.

Saturday and Monday. That's where we are going to begin our coverage here

:04:04.:04:07.

on day nine. Just a few moments ago, out on Centre Court, the number

:04:08.:04:12.

three seed, Simona Halep, second favourite for the title, walked out

:04:13.:04:17.

to take on last year's beaten finalist, Sabine Lisicki. That match

:04:18.:04:26.

will be on the red button. Here on One, we are going to concentrate on

:04:27.:04:34.

Court One. And Bouchard, the Canadian sensation

:04:35.:04:37.

bidding to reach her third Grand Slam semi-final this year, she's

:04:38.:04:42.

copping out on to court here against Angelique Kerber fresh from

:04:43.:04:46.

yesterday's victory over Maria Sharapova.

:04:47.:04:53.

So what a bonus for the fans here at Wimbledon today. Not only the men's

:04:54.:04:57.

quarter-finals, but two ladies quarter-finals to look forward to.

:04:58.:05:04.

So here is the order of play very quickly:

:05:05.:05:14.

We have made our way here to Court One. Jimmy, great to see that

:05:15.:05:31.

opening about the men's quarter-finals because this is where

:05:32.:05:34.

it really does start for the top seeds? Well, the second week of

:05:35.:05:38.

Wimbledon is where the best players play their best tennis, you know,

:05:39.:05:42.

where the energy and the passion and everything starts to come out.

:05:43.:05:44.

You've gotten through the first week, you don't win in the first

:05:45.:05:48.

week but you do lose it and this is where everybody now sets their

:05:49.:05:52.

sights on winning. You don't want to get ahead of yourself, one match at

:05:53.:05:55.

a time, just like they have to get to this point, but their level of

:05:56.:05:59.

play rises every day. So many talking points and not long to do

:06:00.:06:03.

it! But Murray against Dimitrov, when the draw was made, everyone is

:06:04.:06:08.

looking forward to it, du there's added spice, Murray looking at home

:06:09.:06:11.

on the grass and Dimitrov winning at Queen's? Yes, Dimitrov's come into

:06:12.:06:17.

his own and we talk about his pen, he's a great shot-maker. Dimitrov's

:06:18.:06:22.

won three titles this year, one in Acapulco, he beat Murray along the

:06:23.:06:28.

way in the semi-finals on hard court but Andy was on the come back trail

:06:29.:06:33.

from the back Jr.ry. I'm really looking forward to this match

:06:34.:06:37.

because Tim trove at 23 is much more mature, he's strong -- Dimitrov.

:06:38.:06:42.

He's been working with his new coach for just under a year. He has so

:06:43.:06:46.

much belief and has played so well on grass. Andy is on a 17-match

:06:47.:06:51.

winning streak on grass, dating back to the Olympics. Great shot-making

:06:52.:06:56.

in that match, but superjumboey, the shot-making yesterday from Nick

:06:57.:07:00.

Kyrgios, what about that? ! I got here the second week, I was able to

:07:01.:07:05.

watch him play a bit along the way and to get through Gasquet was

:07:06.:07:10.

exceptional, but he's going out there, he's playing like he's a

:07:11.:07:14.

seasoned veteran. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, he's still

:07:15.:07:18.

young. He's so casual! Yes. You know, how can you argue with that.

:07:19.:07:23.

He has the game, he that is charisma and the attitude, so give it a go.

:07:24.:07:25.

That's the thing. and the attitude, so give it a go.

:07:26.:07:33.

kid only 19 years, only 1-1 tour all year on the ATP in Nottingham on

:07:34.:07:38.

grass a couple of weeks ago at challenger level. Coming out against

:07:39.:07:41.

the world number one, Nadal, former the world number one, Nadal, former

:07:42.:07:50.

served in this match, so an absolute missile. He finishes with an ace, so

:07:51.:07:56.

much talent and potential, 6'4", he's such a great athlete. At 14, he

:07:57.:08:01.

was a great basketball star. They said, which one do you want, tennis

:08:02.:08:05.

or basketball when he was 14, thank goodness he chose tennis. And there

:08:06.:08:07.

he is warming up. Not much time toe goodness he chose tennis. And there

:08:08.:08:12.

savour the victory. In some ways, Jimmy, that might be a bonus? I

:08:13.:08:14.

think so. He had such a great Jimmy, that might be a bonus? I

:08:15.:08:17.

yesterday, but to go home and Jimmy, that might be a bonus? I

:08:18.:08:21.

back again, sometimes you go flat if you have a day off and you have to

:08:22.:08:25.

try to work your way back into form. This way, he's going to stay on the

:08:26.:08:26.

trail. He's got a tough match today, This way, he's going to stay on the

:08:27.:08:32.

don't get me wrong. His opponent has a big serve, just like Kyrgios, so

:08:33.:08:37.

it will be cat-and-mouse play, you know, whoever gets the returns and

:08:38.:08:43.

doesn't packic will -- panic will win this match. Murray is second on

:08:44.:08:48.

centre, but we are here for Kerber v Bouchard. Kerber great victory

:08:49.:08:53.

yesterday against Sharapova so same for her in a way? Biggest match win

:08:54.:08:58.

of her career yesterday and the way she had to do it, 5-2 in the third

:08:59.:09:04.

set, she had a match point, lost it, then had so many in the last game as

:09:05.:09:09.

well that. 's what to me was so impressive because we know that

:09:10.:09:12.

Sharapova competes so well and is tough getting across the finish

:09:13.:09:16.

line, particularly at the end of the third set. For Kerber, she's been

:09:17.:09:20.

here before, a former semi-finalist, I worry that she could have a let

:09:21.:09:23.

down because the match was so recent. She has been in the top ten

:09:24.:09:27.

for a while and I also worry about the lady on the other side! Bouchard

:09:28.:09:33.

has a lot of talent. Let's look at the draw as it stands to put it in

:09:34.:09:37.

context. We had two of the quarter-finals yesterday that were

:09:38.:09:45.

completed,. Completed. These players are playing catch-up but that's not

:09:46.:09:50.

what we'd expect at the start of the coursement is it? That's right.

:09:51.:10:01.

So young and coming into her own, but no-one is talking about Halep

:10:02.:10:05.

because she has no experience on grass. She got to the finals of the

:10:06.:10:09.

French and took Sharapova to three sets, so really interesting because

:10:10.:10:13.

we are starting to see new names in women's tennis. That's good, isn't

:10:14.:10:18.

it? I mean Bouchard is like Kyrgios, the new star? Youth, you know,

:10:19.:10:22.

somebody has to come in now and take over from the champions and let them

:10:23.:10:26.

earn their way still and let the young guys and women come in and

:10:27.:10:30.

play the kind of tennis to start making their reputation. I love

:10:31.:10:36.

seeing that. Kyrgios and Bouchard and Halep, you know, new names on

:10:37.:10:41.

the horizon. It's going to be hard to move the champions aside though.

:10:42.:10:46.

Talking of moving. We have got to move, the players about to get under

:10:47.:10:48.

way. Thank you very much.

:10:49.:10:55.

Now we go to the commentary box and join David.

:10:56.:11:00.

All yours. DAVID:

:11:01.:11:10.

A great day for the semi-final. Bouchard chose to serve.

:11:11.:11:54.

Loves to take the ball early, Bouchard, loves to move forward.

:11:55.:11:58.

Very comfortable around the net. Ang leek Kerber, how much did that

:11:59.:12:21.

great match with Maria Sharapova take out of her physically and

:12:22.:12:25.

mentally? Bouchard had a day off yesterday. Big difference.

:12:26.:12:57.

APPLAUSE Already racking up the winners,

:12:58.:13:02.

Bouchard. Tracy's made her way into the booth.

:13:03.:13:29.

Two women out there, physically strong and tough mentally too?

:13:30.:13:37.

TRACEY: Very much so. I watched most of

:13:38.:13:44.

Bouchard's matches this fortnight at Wimbledon. At critical stages in

:13:45.:13:49.

matches where she's 3-3, 4-4, deuce, and she seems to be able to raise

:13:50.:13:53.

her level. To me, that's what you look for in champions.

:13:54.:14:08.

That is the coach of Angelique Kerber, Benjamin.

:14:09.:14:43.

The third match between the two. All have been at the majors.

:14:44.:14:57.

Love game for Kerber to get her side of the score board moving. Kerber is

:14:58.:15:21.

such a phenomenal mover, terrific on defence. We saw her use that so well

:15:22.:15:29.

yesterday with Sharapova. Consistently took the body blows and

:15:30.:15:31.

was able to neutralise the point. I think we saw in that rally that

:15:32.:15:52.

she's not the only one who moves well around the court there? Very

:15:53.:16:00.

good athlete as will. -- as well. Bouchard's gotten so much stronger.

:16:01.:16:03.

That's been the big difference in the last year.

:16:04.:16:09.

Strength and ability to move quicker, push off on her serve.

:16:10.:16:17.

Always technically sound. Bouchard ranked 66 last year. She moves into

:16:18.:16:24.

the top ten this year. One word I would use to describe

:16:25.:16:53.

Bouchard is aggressive. Her coach there on the left. Her

:16:54.:17:00.

coach for years, from 11 or 12. Both women have had love service

:17:01.:17:33.

games, both have got over the early nerves. How much of a factor is it

:17:34.:17:37.

that Bouchard had the day off yesterday and that Angelique kerb,

:17:38.:17:42.

was busting a gut to beat Sharapova? I think it's a definite factor

:17:43.:17:47.

physically but also mentally, the fact that Kerber had the biggest win

:17:48.:17:51.

of her career yesterday and I think it would have been very important

:17:52.:17:55.

for her team, for her coach, to make sure that she celebrated, gave her a

:17:56.:18:00.

big hug, enjoyed the moment, did her press conference and the recovery,

:18:01.:18:06.

the massage, the stretching, make sure he had enough liquids then OK

:18:07.:18:10.

say now it's time to get ready for the quarter-final match and to move

:18:11.:18:13.

on, so that she doesn't have a letdown.

:18:14.:18:20.

Kerber has been to two semi-finals. That should help some. Semi-finals

:18:21.:18:31.

at Wimbledon and semi-finals at the US Open as well.

:18:32.:18:53.

No doubt in my mind Bouchard has the Bettisoner serve. -- better serve.

:18:54.:19:00.

She can serve more unreturnables. The leftiness of Kerber can get

:19:01.:19:29.

tricky on the serve and, neither of these players gives up much ground

:19:30.:19:33.

off the baseline, they both absorb pace and hit hard and flat.

:19:34.:19:44.

Obviously there's bound to be a left handed finalist. If Kerber could get

:19:45.:20:05.

there, we'd have an all-left handed women's final, pore the first time

:20:06.:20:09.

since 1880s. It's easy for me to remember the

:20:10.:20:38.

match that Jimmy Connors played in, I was the umpire. There were no

:20:39.:20:46.

fireworks, he played out of his mind.

:20:47.:21:01.

Kerber's served more in the Championships.

:21:02.:21:21.

APPLAUSE - Bouchard shows a lot of serves

:21:22.:21:30.

like that to me. She picks her spots. It's not going to blow by

:21:31.:21:35.

you, but it's going to be 100mph and it will be within six inches of the

:21:36.:21:40.

line, so she gets a nice second shot to finish the point.

:21:41.:21:56.

First double fault. Believe it or not, that's only the fifth double

:21:57.:22:03.

that Bouchard served in the Championships.

:22:04.:22:29.

Annoyed with herself there. Kerber doesn't make a lot of unforced

:22:30.:22:35.

errors. You were making the point, Tracey

:22:36.:23:06.

that butch hard has an excellent serve, she's slightly the taller at

:23:07.:23:15.

5'10" to 5'8" and the aces and the unreturnable, it makes it look nice

:23:16.:23:22.

for her? To me, technically, watching videos and studying the

:23:23.:23:27.

serve, she's so technically sound, she's much more side-on, brings that

:23:28.:23:32.

right foot up to meet the left and the left tip of Bouchard goes over

:23:33.:23:38.

the baseline to get that strong, pronounced knee bend and really

:23:39.:23:44.

propels herself up and out and rotates everything going forward.

:23:45.:23:48.

Angelique Kerber, to me, she doesn't use her legs that well and

:23:49.:23:52.

frequently, she's already facing the net when she's hitting the ball and

:23:53.:23:56.

actually striking the ball, so she's losing a lot of power for those two

:23:57.:23:58.

reasons. Loves to take the ball early,

:23:59.:24:34.

Bouchard. As a result, she does make perhaps more unforced errors.

:24:35.:24:54.

Really gets down to it so well and turns her shoulders, hips uncoil.

:24:55.:25:10.

Straight towards her target. Trying to attack the Kerber second

:25:11.:25:38.

serve. Hanging in there waiting to be smacked.

:25:39.:26:04.

That serve utterly dominant at the moment -- her serve.

:26:05.:26:15.

15 minutes gone and no indication as to who might win this match.

:26:16.:26:39.

more than most in the last few weeks, in the finals of Eastbourne,

:26:40.:26:44.

Madison Keys and the last three matches have gone to three sets.

:26:45.:27:08.

Very unusual. Bouchard has a safe serve. Usually gets good height over

:27:09.:27:13.

the net, then dives into the court. One thing about Bouchard, I've

:27:14.:27:44.

noticed with a few matches in Australia and Roland Garros, she

:27:45.:27:47.

never backs off, never stops looking to attack. I think is sun is clearly

:27:48.:27:57.

a factor here. I played yesterday right about this time.

:27:58.:28:17.

Partner wanted me to serve with the the sun was moving left to right and

:28:18.:28:27.

where Bouchard is. Right about this time, round about 1 o'clock as you

:28:28.:28:37.

throw the ball up, so maybe she could adjust her toss. Tracey was on

:28:38.:28:43.

That's a little wild. And here is the winning side...

:28:44.:28:54.

That's a little wild. And here is the first break point of the match.

:28:55.:29:00.

This is a crucial point. Plenty of time for Bouchard to set up.

:29:01.:29:40.

No matter what the score is. Reminds me so much of a Maria Sharapova type

:29:41.:29:53.

or Monica Selles, if we go back a few years. That's the way they play.

:29:54.:30:03.

Push the power back. Always want power max. Really struggling with

:30:04.:30:08.

the sun. Sometimes you are semi blinded. It

:30:09.:30:30.

takes you a moment or two to refocus, that might be explaining

:30:31.:30:33.

the errors on the second shot. Second break point for Kerber.

:30:34.:30:45.

Really love that play. It hits such a penetrating backhand and sees that

:30:46.:30:59.

Kerber is going to go with the slice, she is so out of position and

:31:00.:31:02.

Bouchard with the winning volley. Three forehand errors to go down

:31:03.:32:12.

three break points now. The much missed Dan Maskell would be

:32:13.:32:16.

looking down and saying vital century game.

:32:17.:32:21.

Well, she is making life hard for herself, isn't she? Fourth time

:32:22.:32:40.

Kerber has had the opportunity to break and they have all come from

:32:41.:32:45.

errors from Bouchard, who in fairness has played the break points

:32:46.:32:59.

quite brilliantly. And she has done it again.

:33:00.:33:09.

Backhand from Bouchard is so lethal. The same position and you can't tell

:33:10.:33:19.

which way she is going to go, she can send it crosscourt or up the

:33:20.:33:21.

line. How about that! That is an amazing

:33:22.:33:35.

drop volley I, from so far away from the net. TriI fibbing innocence. --

:33:36.:33:42.

finesse. Look how far back she is! That is

:33:43.:33:44.

tougher to measure. Deuce for the fifth time then.

:33:45.:34:27.

As we approach eight minutes for this game.

:34:28.:34:44.

Really so much pressure from both players to feel the need to get the

:34:45.:34:50.

ball deep enough, with enough penetration, or else their opponent

:34:51.:35:11.

will step up. The first psychological blow is struck by

:35:12.:35:18.

Bouchard, holding from three break points down.

:35:19.:35:19.

SUE BARKER: What a match, points down.

:35:20.:35:22.

SUE BARKER: What a what tennis, we will be back on Court One in a

:35:23.:35:26.

moment. While the players change ends, a reminder that the other

:35:27.:35:30.

quarter-final of the ladies is taking place on Centre Court and

:35:31.:35:34.

that is on the red button. Simona Halep against Sabine Lisicki and

:35:35.:35:45.

also on Court Three, that match between Peng and her point innocent.

:35:46.:35:50.

We are enjoying this match on Court One.

:35:51.:35:58.

Hawk-Eye tells us where the ball is in or out. Look at this, already,

:35:59.:36:03.

the Claire pattern, Bouchard much more -- the clear pattern. Bouchard

:36:04.:36:09.

maying more of her shots from inside the baseline. Hardly backing off.

:36:10.:36:16.

Very different stats for Kerber. I consider both players very

:36:17.:36:19.

aggressive and none of them like to back off too far behind the

:36:20.:36:23.

baseline, but Bouchard is even more willing to step inside the baseline,

:36:24.:36:28.

any time she can. Very comfortable in that transition area, and moving

:36:29.:36:32.

forward and finishing points off at the net. Proproficient volleyer for

:36:33.:36:37.

sure. -- more proficient volleyer for

:36:38.:36:38.

sure. Oh, she had an open court, and she

:36:39.:37:02.

knows it! What a huge difference in second

:37:03.:37:07.

serves. 75mph and Bouchard really got a good look that the backhand.

:37:08.:37:11.

She needs to not be discouraged by that play.

:37:12.:38:15.

Really showing some phenomenal versatility with this drop shot,

:38:16.:38:20.

making Kerber run the maximum distance. Most players wouldn't have

:38:21.:38:24.

been able to get their racket on the ball. Great effort. Needs a first

:38:25.:38:29.

serve here from Kerber, she has missed the first three serves.

:38:30.:38:37.

Return right on to the baseline and now it is Bouchard's turn to have

:38:38.:38:53.

break points. Kerber shakes her head and looks

:38:54.:38:58.

over to her box, she is the one that can become more emotional. Next to

:38:59.:39:03.

her coach is the Fed Cup captain. The Fed Cup of course the equivalent

:39:04.:39:07.

of the Davis Cup for women. Kerber got used to that yesterday.

:39:08.:39:24.

Can she save another I am

:39:25.:39:34.

challenging. That is going to be No, not that close. Do you know

:39:35.:39:55.

good optician you can recommend, Tracy?

:39:56.:40:22.

Kerber was in trouble, right from that second serve.

:40:23.:40:31.

Third break point. Oh, both have raised their game when break

:40:32.:40:46.

point down. Whoever uses that one-two punch so often -- Kerber.

:40:47.:40:50.

The forehand up the line. Well, Bouchard saved four break

:40:51.:41:08.

points. Now Kerber trying to do the same.

:41:09.:41:19.

The advantage of a lefty, that swinging serve in the court wins

:41:20.:41:28.

when so many vital points are played.

:41:29.:41:34.

Great reaction, she is pumped. She is quietly, a little glimpse up to

:41:35.:42:50.

her coach, and the 31 minutes gone, Bouchard is serving

:42:51.:42:54.

for the opening set. It is forehand down-the-line she is

:42:55.:43:17.

missing, is she late on the shot? She tends to miss on that wing more

:43:18.:43:23.

frequently, I would suspect that Kerber should target that side more,

:43:24.:43:26.

the backhand so steady and sure. The difference in the serve... Keep

:43:27.:43:46.

her arms up, immediately keeping the upper body nice and firm and

:43:47.:43:50.

uncoils. Two set points for the 20-year-old

:43:51.:44:48.

from Canada. It is wide. And Kerber's challenging

:44:49.:45:23.

the call. And interestingly, Bouchard is not exactly racing to

:45:24.:45:29.

the chair, she is pausing mid court. But out it was, and Bouchard has the

:45:30.:45:33.

set. After 34 minutes. SUE BARKER: So first set to the

:45:34.:45:55.

20-year-old from Canada, right back on Court Number One, on Centre Court

:45:56.:45:59.

here is Simona Halep serving set point in the first set, against

:46:00.:46:05.

Sabine Lisicki. Lisicki had a break early on in the match. Halep broke

:46:06.:46:11.

back, broke again and she has held to take the opening set 6-4. So the

:46:12.:46:17.

three, number three seed in charge. That match continue tons red button.

:46:18.:46:22.

Next up on centring well the defending champion returns to

:46:23.:46:29.

continue his Wimbledon challenge. -- next up on centre. Expectations are

:46:30.:46:40.

high as stheps back out. Game second match. What a perfect start. Blaz

:46:41.:46:44.

Rola, he admired Andy Murray for some time, and now he gets the

:46:45.:46:48.

chance. As comprehensive a victory as you

:46:49.:46:56.

are likely to see. Bautista Agut of Spain. As Andy Murray stays in for

:46:57.:47:03.

the second week. Murray in control. That is the shot of the tournament.

:47:04.:47:08.

The seventh success Si year he is through to the quarter-finals.

:47:09.:47:14.

SUE BARKER: And looking to go further into the semifinals but he

:47:15.:47:17.

is up against Grigor Dimitrov who is enjoying the best season of his

:47:18.:47:20.

career so far. That is the next match on centre, but back we go to

:47:21.:47:26.

Court One. DAVID MERCER: Kerber serving then,

:47:27.:47:41.

start of the second set. Emotionally very important for

:47:42.:47:45.

Kerber having lost the last three game, to reassert her position, the

:47:46.:48:10.

start of this set. Wow! I was not impressed Kerber completed that last

:48:11.:48:14.

game. She seemed to deflate. Didn't compete point in, point out.

:48:15.:48:29.

That is so critical, getting more first serves in.

:48:30.:48:48.

First ace of the match for Angelique Kerber, she starts the second set,

:48:49.:48:56.

with a love game. I think it's important for Kerber to have

:48:57.:48:59.

with a love game. I think it's hiring first service percentage than

:49:00.:49:02.

Bouchard. Her second serve hiring first service percentage than

:49:03.:49:10.

that break in the eighth game of the first set. Also just wonder,

:49:11.:49:15.

physically whether she is been a little bit spent, I mean she really

:49:16.:49:21.

relies on her defence and movement. Long match yesterday with Maria

:49:22.:49:22.

Sharapova, winning 7-5 in the third. Bouchard had the day off, probably

:49:23.:49:37.

went over and practised, maybe an hour, hour-and-a-half at most.

:49:38.:49:57.

Arangi is where the practice courts are. It used to belong to New

:49:58.:50:01.

Zealand, it is a Maori name. She just lofted the ball up to get

:50:02.:50:27.

the point back to neutral. So Beth women start the second set

:50:28.:51:00.

with love service games. Bouchard, the junior champion here two years

:51:01.:51:06.

ago and another Canadian won the boy singles. She has moved on, he is

:51:07.:51:13.

4241 in the world rankings, no guarantee of success. -- 241.

:51:14.:51:31.

The game is just getting bigger and bigger, you saw Kyrgios beating

:51:32.:51:40.

Nadal. He is six foot 4 and moves well.

:51:41.:51:42.

-- 6'4 and moves well. That is a wonderful half-volley from

:51:43.:52:01.

Kerber. She is known for absorbing pace so well. Look how she uses her

:52:02.:52:06.

legs and redirects the ball up the line, and that demands terrific

:52:07.:52:09.

hands and skill. Packs next to Bouchard on Sunday and

:52:10.:52:33.

she spent a good 15, 20 minutes on return of serves is alone, just to

:52:34.:52:36.

get the groove. She was asking the umpire how close

:52:37.:52:57.

that was and the umpire said if the Fish was a big one. She chose not to

:52:58.:53:03.

challenge. She is regarded as the best woman umpire, right up with the

:53:04.:53:12.

men's umpires as well. That is second serve is getting the

:53:13.:53:18.

treatment, time and time again now. Break point Bouchard. Kerber says

:53:19.:53:25.

OK, I will try to send it to the forehand, same answer.

:53:26.:53:48.

You were talking with Jimmy Connors before this match began, about the

:53:49.:53:55.

Changing of the Guard, and particularly in the women's game.

:53:56.:53:59.

You go back to last years US Open when is not everyone a year away and

:54:00.:54:04.

of the four semifinalists three of them were 30 or over. Li Na wins the

:54:05.:54:12.

Australian Open but since thing the youngsters have really started to

:54:13.:54:21.

come through. Stevens, even though... Madison Keys You can

:54:22.:54:28.

really start to feel a little bit of a change, of the sea change, but at

:54:29.:54:32.

the same time, you also feel like the veterans are still there, so it

:54:33.:54:36.

is quite an interesting time, because you have Li Na who won the

:54:37.:54:41.

Australian Open, 32-year-old and Maria Sharapova at 27, but she won

:54:42.:54:45.

her first Grand Slam ten years ago here at Wimbledon, so been round a

:54:46.:54:48.

long time. Now you can Saturday to see the future of women's tennis is

:54:49.:54:56.

going to be safe. And exciting. And you know one thing? They don't make

:54:57.:55:02.

a noise, and that is for me a huge bonus.

:55:03.:55:17.

Bouchard only 20-year-old but she seems so much more mature than that.

:55:18.:55:32.

Reminds me very much of Maria Sharapova at this age and the fact

:55:33.:55:36.

she knows where she wants to go, has those goals and is very professional

:55:37.:55:42.

in her way that she goes about getting them.

:55:43.:56:05.

That is going to be problematic for Kerber if she misses shots like

:56:06.:56:13.

that. I have look at her forehand and she seems to have disappeared a

:56:14.:56:16.

little emotionally here. That's better. You mentioned Dan

:56:17.:56:49.

Maskell and that seventh game being so important. Bouchard saved four

:56:50.:56:54.

break points, was able to hold 4-3, and she has won five games on the

:56:55.:57:00.

stretch, excuse me at the same time that Kerber has only one won, so a

:57:01.:57:07.

very different complexion on the match. Bouchard held in the seventh

:57:08.:57:11.

game. Six of the last seven games now won

:57:12.:57:34.

by Bouchard, and this becomes a must-win game for Angelique Kerber.

:57:35.:57:38.

Does she have the mental strength here to get back on track?

:57:39.:57:59.

There was a little noise there, but that was more of an, oh, finally

:58:00.:58:08.

feels good to hit a winner. Be in control. We will allow her that.

:58:09.:58:21.

SUE BARKER: We are coming to the end of our transmission here on BBC One.

:58:22.:58:29.

We will continue in 45 minutes time. Coming up Andy Murray continues the

:58:30.:58:34.

defence of his Wimbledon title against the inform Grigor Dimitrov,

:58:35.:58:38.

the champion of Queens. There is Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and

:58:39.:58:42.

the new sensation Nick Kyrgios still to come here today at Wimbledon. But

:58:43.:58:46.

we will continue our tennis coverage now on BBC Two, so if you want to

:58:47.:58:51.

see this match, and indeed more, join us over on Two. Goodbye.

:58:52.:59:04.

Looks like everyone's image of paradise.

:59:05.:59:06.

22 years after first visiting Australia...

:59:07.:59:09.

I'll be here for ever. I love this place so much.

:59:10.:59:16.

what did you do then about the snakes?

:59:17.:59:21.

I didn't tell anyone. JOHN LAUGHS

:59:22.:59:23.

I've never chased a cow in a helicopter.

:59:24.:59:24.

You put him in the back of a Transit van?! Yeah.
