August has been cool and unsettled, but there will be changes this week,

especially in the temperatures. For the second half of the week it will

be warmer. We will lose the showers. There is minister sunshine around,

by Friday, there could be highs in the mid-20s. More wet weather in

the next few days and tomorrow further showers in the forecast.

There has been cloud and rain approaching in the south-west. Most

of the showers through the night will fade away. There will be a few

kept going, through the east of Scotland, maybe Northern Ireland

and around the Irish Sea. With clear spells that leads to the risk

of mist and fog forming by dawn. Lows of 12 to 14 degrees.

Cloudings over in the south of Wales. By 4.00pm, wet weather

stretching across Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire.

Ahead of that, cloud into the west, but brightness for Kent.

In the north, a mixture of sunshine and showers. The showers not as

widespread, but heavy downpours with a small risk of thunder. A

mixture of sunshine and showers in parts of Scotland. With the

sunshine, the temperatures are up to 18 Celsius. A better afternoon

for Northern Ireland. A little more sunshine here. Bright spells over

the north of Wales. For the South Wales it stays cloudy in the

afternoon. There is rain for parts of Devon and Cornwall. It will be a

wet afternoon in the sailing with the south-westerly breeze at lunch

time for the triathlon and at Eton Dorney. Mostly dry but fairly

cloudy skies. We keep the zone of cloud and patchy rain to the south

on Wednesday. In the north the showers are fading away with more

sunshine around. The temperatures climbing into the low 20s. So,

losing the showers by Wednesday. That is as pressure is rising. The

high pressure is becoming more dominant for the end of the week.
