Good evening. Big changes over the next few days. It has been great for

:00:00.:00:14.

many of us recently and tomorrow it will brighten up quite nicely with

:00:15.:00:19.

some winter sunshine for us to enjoy. On Thursday we have got

:00:20.:00:24.

severe gales in the forecast and that cold air sticks around into

:00:25.:00:30.

Friday. To get the sunshine we have to clear the skies and that process

:00:31.:00:35.

is already underway. It is behind that we see the clear skies

:00:36.:00:41.

developing. Quite cold across northern England, Northern Ireland

:00:42.:00:47.

and Scotland. Maybe a few icy patches in places. Further south it

:00:48.:00:51.

should be frost free with a lot of cloud and rain moving in. A

:00:52.:00:56.

disappointing start to the day with leaden skies. But the rain is not

:00:57.:01:03.

too heavy. A bit of a damp journey to work. The rain moves away from

:01:04.:01:09.

the south of Wales in the morning. In northern England it is a lovely

:01:10.:01:14.

start to the day with crisp, winter sunshine. It is sunny to for the

:01:15.:01:18.

south and east of Scotland, but breezy in the West and it will be

:01:19.:01:24.

wintry on the hills. Showers in the north and the west of the UK and

:01:25.:01:29.

wintry over the hills. By early afternoon most of the rain should

:01:30.:01:33.

have gone and the cloud follows suit. Then we see sunshine coming

:01:34.:01:39.

out across pretty much all parts of the UK, except in the north of

:01:40.:01:44.

Scotland. Temperatures stay in single figures. In the evening light

:01:45.:01:49.

winds and clear skies mean we see frost is developing in the south of

:01:50.:01:53.

England. Further north the winds keep on picking up and we have a

:01:54.:02:00.

winter storm heading our way. It is going to be very windy indeed. These

:02:01.:02:07.

are the gusts of wind. Maybe 80 miles an hour on the coasts of the

:02:08.:02:12.

north and west of Scotland. Travel disruption is quite likely. A band

:02:13.:02:18.

of rain is moving south and behind that there is some cold air. You can

:02:19.:02:25.

see how the cold air sticks around for many northern and eastern areas

:02:26.:02:27.

into Friday.

:02:28.:02:30.
