for the time being. Already, some parts of the country have had a

month's worth of rain this week. Today, the wettest weather was

further north across in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. About an

cloud and rain or in the sunshine? There was some sunshine today in the

north-west of Scotland, the Isle of Skye. But the rain is moving

northwards. There is the rain over the last few hours. It was a much

drier day than yesterday across East Anglia and the south-east. We still

have an area of rain plaguing the south-west and patchy rain for Wales

and Northern Ireland. But the heavy rain is pushing towards Scotland.

Still dry in the north-west of Scotland and largely dry from

Northern Ireland. We had disappointing temperatures today,

and temperatures will not format overnight because of the cloud. In

rush we still have rain in Devon and Cornwall. But for much of the

Midlands, East Anglia and the south-east, the day starts dry. We

have patchy rain for Wales and Northern Ireland. It will be pretty

wet in the morning across north-east England and south-east Scotland.

Rain begins to arrive in eastern parts of Northern Ireland and pushed

further north into Scotland. So a change of fortunes for Thursday. It

will turn wet and windy across most of Scotland, rain pushing further

into Northern Ireland. We still have patchy, like rain from northern

England and a few showers further south and probably a lot of clout.

But if the sun comes out in the south-east, it will warm up and

could give us some heavy showers. A miserable day under the cloud, wind

and rain from many northern parts of the UK. On Friday, still quite windy

from northern and western areas. It is turning lighter for a while.

Ahead of that, we may get sunshine in the south-east. Quite warm here,

but that could be heavy showers. The weather front takes the rain

southeastwards on Friday. Then our weather this weekend spills in from

the Atlantic, the weather fronts much weaker than we have seen

recently. So the prospects look better for this weekend.
