Tuesday. Hello there. Lots of showers around

today. But it looks more promising as we head into the weekend both

Saturday and Sunday we're going to have spells of sunshine and showers

tomorrow, fewer than we've seen today. Maybe a chance of rain into

the south-west later on Sunday. This was today's rain, though. We had

quite a few thunder storms dancing away with those showers. Those have

moved through. Recently we've seen heavier rain across Wales and into

the Midlands. That rain is heading eastwards. That clears away. Things

calm down later in the night. Windy for some areas. There will be a few

showers around. We've seen the back of the rain in north-east Scotland

at long last. Overnight lows of 11 or 12 Celsius. Into tomorrow

morning, then, and the showers mainly focussed on the north-west of

Scotland. By the time we get to the morning, the showers are fewer in

Northern Ireland. Sunshine here. A few passing showers coming in off

the Irish Sea into north-west England, through the Midlands, East

Anglia and the south-east. It may start dry and sunny once again. The

westerly breeze blows in the odd light shower into the south-west,

Wales as well. Chiefly in the morning, a lot of these will fade

away. Southern England, South Wales, the Midlands, East Anglia enjoying a

fine day with sunshine. Showers more likely further north, particularly

across Scotland, one or two heavy ones here and gustsy winds.

Disappointingly cool for Glasgow, 16 degrees. Warmer than today in the

north-east of Scotland. 21 in London, where it's likely to stay

dry. For Edgbaston and the cricket, we're on the edge of all these

showers. There's a risk of one or two in the afternoon. They will

quickly fade away and during the evening, the skies clear a little.

That's because we get an all too brief ridge of high pressure. It

comes in ahead of these complicated tangle of weather fronts, which

contain some tropical air, from what's left of the hurricane that's

moved across the Atlantic. A lot of low cloud towards the south-west.

Chance of some rain or drizzle. Maybe some of that arriving towards

Northern Ireland later on in the day. At this stage, it looks like

the further north and east you are, it's likely to be dry and it will be

dry. There'll be sunshine and highs of around 19 or 20 degrees. With

this tropical air, we will find humid conditions across southern

parts of the UK Monday and Tuesday. And much higher temperatures as

well. Further north on Monday, there's every chance of seeing some

rain developing across northern England, perhaps North Wales, more

particularly Northern Ireland, perhaps into Scotland as well.
