Greenwich council say its staff have

received death threats over

the removal of an unofficial

memorial to Lee Rigby.

Tributes have been left

outside Woolwich Barracks

since the fusilier's murder in 2013.

The council say they've had

to respond to complaints the shrine

is being adopted by some

right wing groups.

Emma North reports.

There is no official

memorial at the exact spot

where Lee Rigby was killed.

But since his death, it has become

an impromptu shrine to a young

soldier brutally murdered.

When a council worker took it down,

he was filmed, his face and name put

on the internet and then

he got death threats.

It's just completely

beyond the pale.

It's just appalling.

I spoke to that worker

on the telephone and of course

he was very distressed.

He felt very intimidated.

And frightened for his

wife and his children.

And of course that will have had

an effect on his workmates as well.

The council also claims

colleagues have been visited

at work and intimidated.

But some argue the council

is stopping people from paying

tribute themselves.

This morning, some of the flags

were back but no sign

of anything political.

Both the Army and his family have

said there should be nothing

official at the site of the murder.

There were two designated places

nearby where you can pay tribute.

But in Woolwich today

there was still a desire

to mark the spot somehow.

The flowers are fine

because everybody puts flowers

when someone is dead.

But in terms of the flag,

you can't let people express the way

they want to express.

The cross of St George is English,

and that is what we are.

So that is fine

and flowers are fine.

I don't think it belongs

to any political group.

This year marks the fifth

anniversary of Lee Rigby's death,

bringing back not just painful

memories but also the question

of how to remember.

In a bid to tackle London's housing

shortage, could pre-fab

units be the answer?

Here's Thomas Magill.

Lorraine has been waiting

for suitable housing

for nearly two years.

In the meantime, sharing this

studio flat in Mitcham

with her 17-year-old daughter.

Cramped.

Very cramped.

And depressing.

It's pretty hard.

Like I said, there's

no space for anything.

As you can see, I've got bags

and boxes everywhere.

Down the road from Lorraine,

could this development

provide the solution?

The 37 flats at the Y Cube

were built in a factory,

transported to the site by lorry

and lifted into position.

The process took five months.

That's about half the time

of traditional methods.

And it was 25% cheaper,

costing £63,000 per flat.

It would be great if we

could scale these up.

For just over £2 million,

you can deliver 36 homes very,

very quickly for people so it's

a fantastic, affordable solution.

Factory-built flats are already

available to buy across London.

The developer of these ones have

received £25 million investment

from the mayor to deliver

1,000 affordable homes.

A third of which will

be factory built.

A report from the London Assembly

concluded that this type

of technology could be the answer

to London's housing crisis.

We need the mayor to start working

the market and making sure

that market develops.

There is certainly a demand.

All we need now is for the mayor

to pull his finger out

and start taking action.

The mayor has targets for how many

affordable homes he's

going to support the building

of and that's the really

crucial target for us.

We want to see those

affordable homes built.

Modular construction,

on-site construction has a key role

to play in supporting those targets.

There are concerns that

savings developers may make

on the construction costs won't be

passed on to home-buyers.

But they can be built

on awkward brownfield sites,

are faster to put up

and could be cheaper.

our temperatures to 14

and we keep the mild air tonight

but very quickly we're going to lose

it has we go through Monday.

A fine start to your

but it is the middle part of the day

we see some rain spilling

in from the North, and it

will introduce some cold air.

12 degrees before it comes in,

much colder behind.

It gives us a touch of ground frost

overnight into Tuesday

and temperatures back

to where they should be

for the time of year.
