This was the winning goal that clinched promotion and started | :00:11. | :00:21.
a weekend of partying for thousands of fans. | :00:22. | :00:32.
It was a laden. Carlito Verne tremendously well. | :00:33. | :00:41.

It's a win worth a million pounds to Lincoln City and one | :01:04. | :01:18.
which guaranteed the football club's return to League Football | :01:19. | :01:20.
After their victory over Macclesfield Town at the weekend, | :01:21. | :01:23.
the board of directors have this afternoon begun | :01:24. | :01:25.
It's a season which has seen the Imps play Arsenal in the | :01:26. | :01:30.
quarterfinals of the F.A.Cup, and on Saturday more than 10,000 | :01:31. | :01:35.
fans were at Sincil Bank to see them clinch promotion. | :01:36. | :01:38.
Our sports reporter Simon Clark has this. | :01:39. | :01:43.
This was a moment of immense joy and huge relief - | :01:44. | :01:46.
League status returned after an often-grim six years in the | :01:47. | :01:49.
More than anything, it's the way this team has | :01:50. | :01:56.
connected with the fans that stands out and they arrived in big numbers. | :01:57. | :02:03.
10,000 for this one, including Jordan, who two | :02:04. | :02:05.
to fly in from his home in Australia. | :02:06. | :02:08.
It's just a massive day for the club and it's been a short-notice | :02:09. | :02:12.
thing for me to come, but I'm | :02:13. | :02:15.
really proud and, yeah, I'm so excited. | :02:16. | :02:18.
Macclesfield scored the opening goal and it was a | :02:19. | :02:22.
But, it didn't last long, that lead, because at about this | :02:23. | :02:28.
Chance for the shot, great save by the | :02:29. | :02:33.
And then the sublime moment, 15 minutes from the end. | :02:34. | :02:44.
Hawkridge thinks about the shot, driving forward, | :02:45. | :02:46.
A late scare, but the Imps held firm. | :02:47. | :02:55.
It's a weird one, because I'm feeling emotional | :02:56. | :02:59.
and stuff like that, but we've got two more games to go | :03:00. | :03:04.
and we can maybe celebrate then, so, it's amazing. | :03:05. | :03:06.
Yeah, I think the Cowleys have done tremendously well. | :03:07. | :03:10.
From day one, we've done things properly and | :03:11. | :03:14.
professionally and I think that's been our greatest attribute. | :03:15. | :03:17.
Tonight, the club holds a board meeting - planning for | :03:18. | :03:29.
next season in League Two is underway. | :03:30. | :03:37.
The win at the weekend means Lincoln City are back in the league | :03:38. | :03:40.
after a six year absence and is a personal triumph | :03:41. | :03:45.
for their manager Danny Cowley who was appointed just | :03:46. | :03:47.
I'll be talking to him in just a moment but first, | :03:48. | :03:52.
Kate Sweeting has spent the day in Lincoln finding out | :03:53. | :03:54.
what Saturday's result means to the people there. | :03:55. | :04:01.
Lincoln is a city of celebration. Their football club has had an | :04:02. | :04:08.
outstanding season and their success is on everyone's. Absolutely | :04:09. | :04:17.
amazing. Brilliant. Yeah it's fantastic. I been to acute games | :04:18. | :04:22.
this year and it was good to see them go up. Local businesses are | :04:23. | :04:28.
already feeling the benefit. This gift shop says Imps mugs are flying | :04:29. | :04:33.
off the shelves. It's put them back on the map really it's the first | :04:34. | :04:39.
time we've been on match of the day prime time. People saw the cathedral | :04:40. | :04:42.
and people have developed an interest in finding out more about | :04:43. | :04:49.
Lincoln. Not of people going online and thinking where is this great | :04:50. | :04:54.
city? -- lots of people going online does. We've seen an increase in | :04:55. | :05:02.
visitors to our website as well. At this primary School, football is the | :05:03. | :05:09.
favourite subject. The ground is just 100 yards from the school and | :05:10. | :05:12.
the success of the local team is inspiring these young fans and | :05:13. | :05:17.
potential future players. Everyone is talking about Lincoln city and | :05:18. | :05:20.
everyone wants to go to their games and once through them to win. | :05:21. | :05:28.
They've done so well and they've tried their hardest to go into | :05:29. | :05:35.
leaked to. I would like to be a footballer when I'm older. When I | :05:36. | :05:41.
would like to play through Lincoln city. The children are not playing | :05:42. | :05:48.
-- talking about messy, Suarez, they're talking about Arnold and | :05:49. | :05:59.
Terry Hawkridge. Lincoln city will now celebrate their promotion bid | :06:00. | :06:04.
and open topped bus tour a week tomorrow. These young fans will be | :06:05. | :06:07.
hoping to be at the front of the crowds. | :06:08. | :06:15.
Joining me now is the hero of the hour. Lincoln city 's manager Danny | :06:16. | :06:22.
Cowley. Danny, congratulations, how does that feel standing next to that | :06:23. | :06:29.
tonight? It's a pretty good feeling. I've certainly had worse weekends. | :06:30. | :06:34.
It was a great day for ever and associated with Lincoln city | :06:35. | :06:38.
football club. How did you manage to achieve it? A mean 11 months, that's | :06:39. | :06:49.
nothing. It has, it has. For the last week, we tried really hard on a | :06:50. | :06:53.
daily basis and it just shows you what you can achieve with | :06:54. | :06:58.
like-minded people. Did you know that you had it in you to do this | :06:59. | :07:02.
and do it in this speed that you have done it in? I think Nikki and I | :07:03. | :07:09.
believe in our skill set, and our work ethic, we are lucky enough to | :07:10. | :07:14.
work with a lot of good people here, it is a great football club and it | :07:15. | :07:18.
has got a lot of very good people. It has been a privilege to work at | :07:19. | :07:22.
the club and to work with so many wonderful people. You have also | :07:23. | :07:26.
developed a great relationship with the supporters in a relatively short | :07:27. | :07:30.
space of time. How important have they been in this and how you | :07:31. | :07:37.
develop that relationship? Our supporters have been unbelievable | :07:38. | :07:41.
from day dot. Right, we have got a you meet relationship with our | :07:42. | :07:47.
supporters -- a unique relationship with our supporters. When comparing | :07:48. | :07:52.
Lincoln city with premiership clubs you get instant interaction with the | :07:53. | :07:56.
players if you support Lincoln city, and that is where it unique. | :07:57. | :08:02.
Sometimes you are supporting a club you a glass window. We have been | :08:03. | :08:06.
able to get out into the local community. The players have been | :08:07. | :08:10.
great at giving up their time to meet people and build relationships, | :08:11. | :08:14.
human relationships. These are built through interaction and that is what | :08:15. | :08:18.
we have been able to do. Therefore the support has grown along the | :08:19. | :08:21.
journey. We had some success on the pitch as well. What is it like for | :08:22. | :08:28.
you, because you live in Essex and nobody really knows you there but in | :08:29. | :08:32.
linking you can't move? It must be a bit of an odd existence? It | :08:33. | :08:40.
certainly has been new. In Essex my next-door neighbour does not know | :08:41. | :08:43.
who I am but here it is slightly different. We got a great | :08:44. | :08:50.
relationship with the people of Lincoln, and we wanted to get to | :08:51. | :08:53.
know the city when we came here. We quickly worked out that it is an | :08:54. | :08:59.
honest, hard-working area and we just tried to get a group of players | :09:00. | :09:03.
that had similar qualities and I think we have been able to do that. | :09:04. | :09:07.
As a consequence, we have managed to create a real allegiance and build a | :09:08. | :09:11.
real room relationship with the community. Is your future to stay at | :09:12. | :09:18.
Lincoln and have a giving you a big budget? Our ambition is in the | :09:19. | :09:26.
journey and while we feel we can add value, we would love to stay. For | :09:27. | :09:31.
us, the success that we have had this season has to be a springboard | :09:32. | :09:36.
to push on. We have done very well in the FA Cup and the finances are | :09:37. | :09:40.
looking good as a consequence. We now need to reinvest that money to | :09:41. | :09:43.
build an infrastructure for the club so that we can have continued | :09:44. | :09:48.
success. That is what we aim to do. We look forward to the future. | :09:49. | :09:54.
Absolutely, and great honour to talk to tonight, thank you very much. | :09:55. | :09:58.
Do you think footballing success will make any difference to Lincoln? | :09:59. | :10:01.
It's already popular with the Tourists. | :10:02. | :10:02.
If you live in Lincoln or around the City does the success | :10:03. | :10:05.
If you were at Sincil Bank on Saturday, what does promotion | :10:06. | :10:10.
You can get in touch using these details on screen. We look forward | :10:11. | :10:21.
Police in Hull have increased patrols in part of the city | :10:22. | :10:25.
following two armed robberies over the weekend. | :10:26. | :10:27.
They happened in the Stoneferry area on Saturday night. | :10:28. | :10:29.
A man was robbed on a cycle path near Leads Road and then a member | :10:30. | :10:34.
of staff at a nearby petrol station was threatened by two men. | :10:35. | :10:37.
Matthew Bone is in Stoneferry this evening. | :10:38. | :10:39.
This happened between 1030 and 11 o'clock on Saturday night. One man | :10:40. | :10:55.
on a bicycle was intimidated, threatened by two men, both with | :10:56. | :11:00.
their faces covered and wearing dark clothing and between the age of 20 | :11:01. | :11:06.
and 30 years old. He was threatened with a Stanley knife and an | :11:07. | :11:10.
imitation firearm and robbed and then the two attackers came to this | :11:11. | :11:14.
petrol station, they basically did the same thing again and threatened | :11:15. | :11:19.
the member of staff. He was bundled into a side room, apparently, and | :11:20. | :11:23.
they made off with cigarettes and some other items. The police are | :11:24. | :11:28.
still looking for these two men, earlier asked them why they were so | :11:29. | :11:30.
confident that was an imitation firearm that was used. | :11:31. | :11:33.
What I can share with you is that we know that it was an imitation | :11:34. | :11:36.
firearm because we've recovered it from the scene here | :11:37. | :11:38.
So, I can offer some reassurance to the public that it is no | :11:39. | :11:42.
longer on the street, and so they can't be | :11:43. | :11:45.
The police have now find this imitation firearm in and I now | :11:46. | :11:53.
appealing to the public to happen catch the people who use it. | :11:54. | :11:55.
Matthew, thank you. A 48-hour strike affecting some | :11:56. | :11:58.
services on the East Coast The RMT Trade Union say progress | :11:59. | :12:00.
in talks with Virgin East Coast means they've put the industrial | :12:01. | :12:04.
action on hold. Managers at St Stephens shopping | :12:05. | :12:06.
centre in Hull say they can't confirm speculation that one | :12:07. | :12:16.
of the country's top fashion chains may be leaving. The Zara store | :12:17. | :12:18.
is reportedly among 17 businesses whose leases are up | :12:19. | :12:20.
for renewal in the centre. St Stephens say they have had | :12:21. | :12:23.
a number of companies express an interest in moving | :12:24. | :12:25.
into the store. A family from Lincolnshire whose son | :12:26. | :12:29.
has a rare genetic condition are calling on the government to do | :12:30. | :12:32.
more to help parents Jordan Gadbury says her son | :12:33. | :12:34.
Charlie's disability means both she and her mum have had to give up | :12:35. | :12:37.
work to care for him. But they're now struggling to afford | :12:38. | :12:41.
the specialist equipment he needs, Born with an incredibly | :12:42. | :12:44.
rare genetic disorder, Born with an incredibly rare genetic | :12:45. | :13:00.

round the clock care. Charlie has a variant | :13:03. | :13:04.
of Ohdo syndrome - and means his family have had to be | :13:05. | :13:06.
trained to carry out Charlie depends on us to do | :13:07. | :13:24.
everything, everything in the-year-old -- two-year-old would | :13:25. | :13:26.

specialist equipment, at a time when Jordan and her mum | :13:30. | :13:30.
Annette have both had It's left Charlie's dad, Ashley | :13:31. | :13:33.

Contact a Family suggest that across the UK more than half (52%) | :13:39. | :13:40.
of families with a disabled child My wages OK, but it doesn't cover | :13:41. | :13:49.
everything that we have to get the Charlie. We have to get the other | :13:50. | :13:58.
equipment. You can just pop them on the floor. He has to be in a | :13:59. | :13:59.
positive position everywhere. Figures from the charity, | :14:00. | :14:02.
Contact a Family suggest that across the UK more than half (52%) | :14:03. | :14:04.
of families with a disabled child And that's because it can cost | :14:05. | :14:07.
three times more to raise Figures also show that | :14:08. | :14:13.
only 16% of mothers with disabled children work, | :14:14. | :14:21.
compared to 61% of other mums." Increasingly families are going | :14:22. | :14:35.
without specialist equipment so are forced to take out loans and they | :14:36. | :14:39.
get themselves into debt. Where they have the fundraiser for essential | :14:40. | :14:40.
equipment. Charlie's family does get disability | :14:41. | :14:42.
and carer's allowance, but - in what could become an issue | :14:43. | :14:44.
at the forthcoming General election there are claims from Labour that | :14:45. | :14:49.
that money's not enough. The government however says it's | :14:50. | :14:51.
increasing benefits and now spends ?50 billion a year | :14:52. | :14:53.
supporting vulnerable people The sand being pumped back | :14:54. | :14:55.
onto our beaches to keep back the sea and protect | :14:56. | :15:08.
homes from flooding. And the three-year-old | :15:09. | :15:11.
who's been saying thank Don't miss that story. In just a | :15:12. | :15:34.
moment, here's a photo of Flamborough head. Now we have an | :15:35. | :15:47.
apology. We welcome cut the Senate the weekend, both Saturday and | :15:48. | :15:55.
Sunday. Make a note. I'll have to do the forecast further here not | :15:56. | :16:03.
Aberystwyth. I think I did the forecast for the Good Friday. It's | :16:04. | :16:13.
looking very unsettled, wintry showers they could be some hail. The | :16:14. | :16:19.
very keen northerly wind. There will be some sunshine in between and then | :16:20. | :16:24.
it's a mixed week but hopefully things will start to settle down for | :16:25. | :16:28.
the first half of the May Day bank holiday weekend. That's still a long | :16:29. | :16:34.
way off and these things can change though. A lot of sunshine developing | :16:35. | :16:38.
once that weather front moved through today so the evening is OK. | :16:39. | :16:43.
There is still a risk of wonder to showers. The showers will become | :16:44. | :16:47.
increasingly confined to more coastal areas where they will be | :16:48. | :16:51.
pretty heavy. There could be a slight covering of snow if those | :16:52. | :16:58.
showers clip in. One to ice patches to watch out for. Temperatures close | :16:59. | :17:03.
to freezing in countryside areas. So, Sunrise is at 539, and the high | :17:04. | :17:10.
water times are as you can see here. Many inland in the areas will start | :17:11. | :17:14.
try and sunny. But there will be showers on the coast from the start. | :17:15. | :17:18.
They will develop more widely inland. Into the afternoon showers | :17:19. | :17:24.
developing maybe some hail and thunder even a bit of lightning. | :17:25. | :17:27.
Possibly some snow in there. You will notice how much colder it | :17:28. | :17:35.
feels. There will be a fresh north, north-westerly so these are the | :17:36. | :17:40.
temperatures outside of the wind, 8-9dC, which is 48 Fahrenheit. A | :17:41. | :17:47.
fuse showers on Wednesday. Friday it should start to settle down. Finally | :17:48. | :17:56.
for the first part for the bank holiday. Thanks to the viewer we | :17:57. | :18:01.
know where you were doing on Friday! You've even got the regulation the | :18:02. | :18:04.
next letter. -- the- next letter. Work has begun along the beaches | :18:05. | :18:20.
from Mablethorpe down the Lincolnshire coast | :18:21. | :18:22.
to Ingoldmells, to protect houses It's costing almost seven million | :18:23. | :18:24.
pounds and will take Sand will be dredged from sea bed | :18:25. | :18:27.
and pumped onto the beach. Our Environment Correspondent | :18:28. | :18:34.
Paul Murphy reports. It is a crude form of sea defence, | :18:35. | :18:37.
but highly effective. Thousands of tonnes of sand | :18:38. | :18:40.
dredged from the sea bed and piled onto the beach, | :18:41. | :18:44.
raising its height significantly. And for those living nearby, | :18:45. | :18:48.
it's a welcome sight. In 2013, I had 15 firemen here, | :18:49. | :18:55.
because of the tidal And it was the waves coming | :18:56. | :18:57.
they were almost to the top, over the house, and it | :18:58. | :19:04.
was quite horrific. The work is taking place along | :19:05. | :19:05.
12 miles of coastline. It is designed to protect | :19:06. | :19:08.
more than 30,000 homes and businesses and around | :19:09. | :19:14.
19,000 static caravans. This is the coastline | :19:15. | :19:16.
where floods claimed hundreds of lives in the 1950s, | :19:17. | :19:21.
and where, last winter, mean that tidal surges | :19:22. | :19:23.
Global changes to our climate are becoming much more | :19:24. | :19:36.
powerful and Schemes like this one, | :19:37. | :19:39.
although expensive, are seen as essential to | :19:40. | :19:41.
the safety of In Sutton on Sea, | :19:42. | :19:47.
the tidal threat is Yeah, it's very vulnerable | :19:48. | :19:52.
indeed, Global warming, climate | :19:53. | :19:54.
change is a real worry. Sea levels are going | :19:55. | :19:57.
to rise, governments seem almost powerless to get together | :19:58. | :20:01.
and sort out for us, so, yeah, That's why it's essential | :20:02. | :20:08.
that we get these beachworks done. Lincolnshire beaches | :20:09. | :20:12.
over the next six weeks. It does cause some disruption, | :20:13. | :20:15.
but that's a small price to pay Aircraft and RAF personnel | :20:16. | :20:19.
from Lincolnshire have left the county for a deployment | :20:20. | :20:27.
in Eastern Europe. RAF Typhoons from Coningsby will be | :20:28. | :20:30.

The big difference is one made is that a few of our men can drive | :23:40. | :23:50.
vehicles as well. So we ended up doing his breathing for him. It was | :23:51. | :23:56.
terrible, because you're just so worried about him. Especially when | :23:57. | :23:58.
it stopped breathing in the ambulance. How you feel when the | :23:59. | :24:06.
responders turned up? Brilliant of course. I was amazed how fast they | :24:07. | :24:13.
got there. Had taken just four minutes from the 999 call from when | :24:14. | :24:14.
the responders arrived. Today, Max and his family got | :24:15. | :24:17.
to thank the volunteers and the East Midlands Ambulance crew | :24:18. | :24:19.
that saved his life.. When they said we could meet | :24:20. | :24:29.
everyone again I jumped at the chants because I wanted to say thank | :24:30. | :24:35.
you and show them what a difference. The last time they saw Max he was | :24:36. | :24:40.
pale and quiet and not responding. And now as we can all confirm, he is | :24:41. | :24:47.
full of beans. And Max has a enough energy left over to do a bit of | :24:48. | :24:48.
