Good evening. late news at 11:30.

:00:12.:00:13.

An ice cream company in Bradford has been hit by two separate fires.

:00:14.:00:16.

Both of them are being treated as arson.

:00:17.:00:18.

Firefighters were first called to a cafe on Great Horton Road

:00:19.:00:20.

in the city in the early hours and shortly afterwards to a factory

:00:21.:00:24.

Police say they were targetted attacks.

:00:25.:00:27.

Clearing up after a night of devastation. This is a takeaway in

:00:28.:00:46.

Bradford. It's own by a family. A family jumped from a window to

:00:47.:00:51.

escape. This is the first fire suffered by the company nearly hours

:00:52.:00:55.

this morning. Ten minutes later, firefighters were called to a

:00:56.:01:00.

warehouse two miles away, where a factory was well ablaze. Staff

:01:01.:01:02.

working here also had had to be rescued. Up to half a dozen fire

:01:03.:01:09.

officers are working hard behind B, trying to find out exactly what took

:01:10.:01:13.

place here in the early hours of the morning. They say the blaze is still

:01:14.:01:17.

smouldering, so they are trying to bring that under control. In a

:01:18.:01:20.

statement, West Yorkshire Police police have also said these

:01:21.:01:33.

incidents have caused concern within the community and as a result, they

:01:34.:01:37.

will be increasing the number of patrols in the area.

:01:38.:01:45.

A North Yorkshire charity, which helps people with learning

:01:46.:01:47.

disabilities find work, says discrimination

:01:48.:01:48.

is still stopping many adults from getting a job.

:01:49.:01:51.

The Wilf Ward Trust runs a caf in Pickering,

:01:52.:01:53.

where trainees can learn catering and hospitality skills.

:01:54.:01:55.

But, as Ian Reeve reports, employers appear to shun

:01:56.:01:57.

Damien is one of 17 staff working at this cafe in Pickering, all have

:01:58.:02:13.

learning difficulties. Qualifications in catering and

:02:14.:02:15.

hospitality could give him employment in mainstream areas.

:02:16.:02:25.

Everyone gets on together. But the reality is that over the cafe's

:02:26.:02:30.

four-year life, only one person from 45 has moved into mainstream work.

:02:31.:02:35.

It's something that puzzles the manager, Sam. Somebody with a

:02:36.:02:38.

disability can be an absolutely brilliant work. They can absolutely

:02:39.:02:42.

do a job to the standard of anybody else and they should not be put off

:02:43.:02:45.

by any kind of disability whatsoever. But for the boss of the

:02:46.:02:49.

trust that runs the cafe, it is employers that need to change. What

:02:50.:02:53.

can be a problem is people perhaps not understanding that just because

:02:54.:02:57.

someone has a learning disability, doesn't mean they cannot be a

:02:58.:03:02.

brilliant member of your team. It is that awareness and inside, and that

:03:03.:03:07.

willingness to give people a chance. But things may be changing. Over

:03:08.:03:12.

four .5 million people with disabilities don't currently work.

:03:13.:03:16.

The government wants to get 1 million of them into employment. So

:03:17.:03:20.

conventional employers will be encouraged to take up the slack.

:03:21.:03:22.

York Minister has been unable to confirm if the bells

:03:23.:03:25.

will ring on Christmas Day, potentially breaking a tradition

:03:26.:03:27.

The bell ringing team were removed in October after concerns

:03:28.:03:30.

about safeguarding - although there have

:03:31.:03:32.

Volunteers from the city and county were found for a service on Thursday

:03:33.:03:37.

It's unclear if arrangements have been made for tomorrow.

:03:38.:03:43.

Firefighters from South Yorkshire managed to reach number 21

:03:44.:03:47.

in the Download chart and number 8 in the Independent Christmas chart

:03:48.:03:50.

with their single chip pan Sheffield firefighters

:03:51.:03:58.

and the Everley Pregnant Brothers teamed up to record the song.

:03:59.:04:05.

Even though they didn't reach Christmas number one,

:04:06.:04:07.

they say thousands of pounds has been raised for the charities

:04:08.:04:09.

Poor old Santa is going to have trouble steering his sleigh. It will

:04:10.:04:21.

be windy into Christmas Day and we will all struggle in our Christmas

:04:22.:04:25.

jumpers because it's going to feel really mild. A warning from the Met

:04:26.:04:29.

office. The risk of gales developing tomorrow. The strongest of the

:04:30.:04:33.

guests will be just to the east of the Pennines. Here is a look at

:04:34.:04:38.

Christmas Day. Damp conditions across the Pennines. Generally, a

:04:39.:04:41.

dry day, perhaps even some brightness developing. It will feel

:04:42.:04:45.

warm. This temperatures will be to around 13 degrees. The risk of gales

:04:46.:04:49.

and also heavy rain later. Thanks for your company could buy.

:04:50.:05:02.

-- thanks for your company. Goodbye. Merry Christmas.

:05:03.:05:15.

Hello. Nice and toasty both inside and out. It even struggling to snow

:05:16.:05:22.

across the Scottish hills, it's so mild outside, whether you like it or

:05:23.:05:28.

not. It's all thanks to this storm, big windstorm in the North Atlantic.

:05:29.:05:32.

It is drawing up warm air from the southern climes. You can see the

:05:33.:05:37.

Azores, warm air moving in our direction. It's here to stay. Just

:05:38.:05:43.

in time for Christmas. Cloudy with bits of rain in the centre pushing

:05:44.:05:46.

through across parts of Scotland, western part of the UK. It could be

:05:47.:05:49.

quite heavy, that

:05:50.:05:51.
