Hundreds of health campaigners, fighting against cuts


to local NHS services, have been demonstrating


Several campaign groups from across Yorkshire, including


Save Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, have joined forces with trade


unions, politicians and health workers to make their voices heard.


Making their voices heard, hundreds of protesters gathered


in the centre of Leeds to campaign about the proposed cuts to the NHS


We think that services are deteriorating, targets


are being missed and we think this is a funding issue and a political


Trade union members, NHS staff and patients marched


alongside campaign groups, united and passionate


I think it's absolutely disgraceful that they are actually putting money


Our NHS is in danger of absolute devastation.


And we need to stand up and we need to stand up and fight for it.


The NHS announced plans this week to deliver further


improvements for patients, including better cancer treatment


But for protestors here today, it is not enough.


The Government says it is investing ?10 billion into the NHS,


but after a winter that has seen unprecedented pressure


on the system, campaigners still have their fears.


Police in South Yorkshire are investigating after a 16-year-old


girl reported being raped in Rotherham last night.


The attack is alleged to have happened when the girl was walking


along Badsley Moor Lane in the Herringthorpe


Police have been conducting house to house enquiries,


looking for CCTV evidence and extra police patrols have

Goals from Andy Williams and Alfie May made it a 5-1 win.


In the National League, York City made it five home wins


in a row with a 3-nil victory against Braintree Town.


And in rugby league, the latest score in the match between Wakefield


and the Catalans Dragons is Catalans 18, Wakefield 38.

in rural parts of Scotland
