I'm Anjana Gadgil. stories on the BBC News Channel.

:00:07.:00:08.

Easter Day has been celebrated across the South -

:00:09.:00:11.

but one service was perhaps more poignant than most.

:00:12.:00:13.

It's the first major festival at Guildford Cathedral

:00:14.:00:15.

since the bishop there gave a warning two months ago

:00:16.:00:18.

The council refused planning permission to build homes on land

:00:19.:00:22.

the cathedral owns - which would have secured

:00:23.:00:25.

Lawyers are considering a new planning application or an appeal.

:00:26.:00:31.

This morning worshippers celebrated amidst building

:00:32.:00:32.

There is no doubt about it, the cathedral will be here for many

:00:33.:00:41.

All these scare stories about the cathedral are simply that

:00:42.:00:45.

Lots of work is going on and hopefully everything will be

:00:46.:00:49.

complete and back to its former glory very shortly.

:00:50.:00:55.

I don't think you need to worry about it at all,

:00:56.:00:58.

Forensic investigators have been combing through the ashes

:00:59.:01:05.

of a stately home in Dorset after a serious blaze yesterday.

:01:06.:01:08.

The fire, at Parnham House, broke out early in the morning,

:01:09.:01:10.

Dorset Police are treating the fire as suspicious and the area

:01:11.:01:15.

Members of the Sikh community gathered in central Southampton

:01:16.:01:21.

today to mark the most important date in their religious calendar.

:01:22.:01:25.

Vaisakhi honours the birth of the Sikh nation in 1699

:01:26.:01:27.

Hundreds of people took part in a procession which passed

:01:28.:01:34.

by all three of the city's Gurdwaras.

:01:35.:01:39.

The double Olympic rowing champion Helen Glover and her husband

:01:40.:01:42.

Steve Backshall have raised more than ?60,000 having

:01:43.:01:44.

completed a 125 mile kayak along the Thames to Westminster.

:01:45.:01:47.

The couple who live in Berkshire took 22 hours and 58 minutes

:01:48.:01:50.

They're trying to raise ?100,000 to save an area

:01:51.:01:57.

Many farms across the south are busy lambing at the moment.

:01:58.:02:04.

But a few sheep farmers have the added complication

:02:05.:02:06.

There's a small but growing number of sheep dairy farmers,

:02:07.:02:12.

Sheep's milk costs around four pounds a litre but claims heath

:02:13.:02:17.

Sean Killick reports from a farm in West Sussex.

:02:18.:02:25.

Forget the roast leg of lamb - how about a pint of sheep's milk?

:02:26.:02:35.

There are only 50 sheep dairies in Britain and most of their milk

:02:36.:02:39.

But this farm sells mainly bottled, pasteurised milk that is naturally

:02:40.:02:43.

homogenous, ordered online and posted out frozen.

:02:44.:02:48.

The majority of our customers are people who may struggle

:02:49.:02:51.

with other milks but find the digestibility of

:02:52.:02:53.

Certainly, I think there seems to be a growing trend

:02:54.:03:01.

And the other people that seem to gravitate towards sheep milk

:03:02.:03:06.

would be people that suffer from eczema and asthma

:03:07.:03:08.

The sheep here only produce milk seven months of the year

:03:09.:03:13.

and currently the family-run farm is busy milking and

:03:14.:03:15.

My bedroom is right next to them so if I hear a lot of baaing,

:03:16.:03:22.

Not much sleep happens in the three weeks of lambing.

:03:23.:03:29.

But the key question is, does sheep's milk pass the taste test?

:03:30.:03:35.

Yeah, I've tried goat's milk before, which I never particularly liked,

:03:36.:03:37.

It actually is very creamy, it's like gold top dairy milk.

:03:38.:03:43.

Well, today has been sunny but will it last?

:03:44.:03:50.

We have got a lot of cloud out there at the moment,

:03:51.:03:57.

and it is giving some light rain and drizzle.

:03:58.:03:59.

The winds have finally eased and I think with all of the cloud

:04:00.:04:02.

tonight we won't have any problems temperature-wise, lows

:04:03.:04:04.

A grey start to the day tomorrow with outbreaks of rain and we'll see

:04:05.:04:09.

some decent spells of sunshine and showers feeding in which could

:04:10.:04:12.

be quite heavy and slow moving with lighter wins.

:04:13.:04:15.

We will see a little sunshine during the afternoon

:04:16.:04:18.

and with the brightness we could see highs of 13 degrees.

:04:19.:04:20.

It looks like being largely dry after tomorrow through the day

:04:21.:04:23.

with spells of sunshine but cold and frosty by night.

:04:24.:04:25.

And finally, a strange sight on Bournemouth

:04:26.:04:30.

About 50 men in high heels attempted to walk the one and a half

:04:31.:04:34.

miles from Boscombe Pier to Bournemouth Pier raising funds

:04:35.:04:37.

for Over the Rainbow, an organisation which supports

:04:38.:04:39.

That's all from us this evening, more on the BBC News website.

:04:40.:04:50.

Our next updates are in BBC Breakfast, goodnight.

:04:51.:05:07.

If today's conditions were great and stamp, tomorrow's weather offers

:05:08.:05:17.

more promise, clear skies and some flower -- cloud showers compared to

:05:18.:05:22.

today. The cloud reducing rain through the south-east

:05:23.:05:23.
