Hello there. Thursday was a fine spring day

but there's warmer weather on the way

for many of us this weekend.

Friday starts rather chilly

across southern and eastern areas,

here's where we've got

the best of the early sunshine.

Sunshine continuing in eastern Scotland,

perhaps north-east England, or especially

for Wales and the south-west.

A little more cloud developing

for the Midlands and other eastern parts,

still some cloud for north-west England,

Northern Ireland and Western Scotland,

but a lot of dry weather, and in the sunshine,

temperatures easily getting

into the mid-teens.

Cloud amount is quite difficult

to forecast at the moment,

and there will still be

clearer skies about overnight,

Friday night into Saturday morning.

Again, particularly across

more southern and eastern parts,

perhaps into Wales.

In the countryside, those temperatures

won't be far away from freezing.

As we start the weekend, though,

it warms up in the sunshine,

and we're going to find more sunshine,

less cloud on Saturday,

and the sunshine extends

its way to all but the far north of Scotland,

into Northern Ireland, and will break up

the cloud across East Anglia

and the south-east as well.

Temperatures could be 17, 18, maybe 19 degrees,

it will be feeling warming though

further north, with the sunnier skies here.

High pressure that's right

over the top of us now

slides away into the near Continent,

allowing these weather fronts to encroach into

the north-west on Sunday, but at the same time,

we're going to be drawing up

some much warmer air from the south,

in across England and Wales,

also seeing more sunshine,

so a lot of sunshine for much of

England and Wales on Sunday.

Always going to be more cloud for Scotland,

especially in the west, and Northern Ireland,

where we've got rain later on.

Some of that cloud could push over the Irish Sea.

So it's not going to be really warm everywhere,

mainly eastern parts of Wales,

central and eastern England,

where we're going to find temperatures

22 or possibly even 23 degrees.

But it's only going to be with us

for a short period of time - a day.

This weather front that's bringing the rain

into the north-west moves southwards overnight.

There's little or no rain on it,

but we push away the warm air,

introduce much colder air.

Temperatures could be

eight or nine degrees lower on Monday

compared with Sunday, and we're going

to find a few showers across the northern half of the UK,

particularly northern Scotland.

For many places, it will

be cloudier, it will be cooler,

but it's still going to be dry.

As we move from Monday into Tuesday,

we push away that colder air,

and instead of a northerly wind,

we get more of a westerly wind

around the top of high pressure.

That looks like it's going to

bring some outbreaks of rain,

chiefly to Scotland, perhaps Northern Ireland,

push more cloud southwards

but still some sunshine for

southern parts of England and Wales.

Then as we head closer to Easter,

there's still high pressure on the scene,

but it's not going to be

covering the whole country this time,

as it is right now.

And low pressure areas will run

across the north and take the wetter weather

away from northern parts of the UK.

So as we run into Easter,

high pressure looks like its going to be

sitting to the south-west.

This looks like it's going to be

the general weather pattern.

We'll have a north-westerly wind,

that will bring showers

and make it feel a touch cooler,

but every now and again we could see

the high pressure pushing northwards,

taking the drier and settled weather

further north across the UK

and pushing those showers further away.

But throughout, average temperatures at best,

it may be a little colder than average,

and as we've seen, not much rain away

from the showers

in the north and north-east,

and we've got the sunniest weather

in the south-west of the UK,

closer to the high.
