Whether you like hot weather or not, hopefully there should be

0:00:030:00:06

some good news for you at some point in this weather forecast.

0:00:060:00:09

Sunday brought some real heat.

0:00:090:00:12

Parts of south-west London

0:00:120:00:14

got up just above 32 degrees Celsius.

0:00:140:00:17

It was a little bit cooler

0:00:170:00:18

close to some of the coasts

0:00:180:00:20

as we developed a sea breeze

0:00:200:00:21

and across northern Scotland,

0:00:210:00:22

there was more cloud in the sky.

0:00:220:00:24

Still some sunshine,

0:00:240:00:25

although for north-west Scotland,

0:00:250:00:27

sunshine was in short supply.

0:00:270:00:29

It's all because of a weather front

0:00:290:00:30

which really was sitting around

0:00:300:00:32

in just about the same place

0:00:320:00:33

all weekend long

0:00:330:00:34

and will only be very, very slowly

0:00:340:00:36

moving its way southwards during Monday.

0:00:360:00:38

To the north of the front,

0:00:380:00:39

some fresher air which will move

0:00:390:00:41

into some parts of the country,

0:00:410:00:42

but across southern areas,

0:00:420:00:44

the hot air holds on.

0:00:440:00:45

So, plenty of sunshine once again on Monday

0:00:450:00:48

across the bulk of England and Wales,

0:00:480:00:50

also some sunshine into parts of Northern Ireland,

0:00:500:00:52

southern and eastern Scotland.

0:00:520:00:54

Our weather front bringing cloud

0:00:540:00:55

and a little patchy rain

0:00:550:00:57

across the northern half of Scotland

0:00:570:00:58

and here it will be cooler,

0:00:580:00:59

but come further south,

0:00:590:01:01

temperatures could get up to 32,

0:01:010:01:03

maybe 33 degrees and that could be enough

0:01:030:01:05

to spark a very isolated shower or thunderstorm

0:01:050:01:08

across parts of the Midlands and Lincolnshire

0:01:080:01:10

as we head through Monday evening.

0:01:100:01:12

Now, Monday night into Tuesday

0:01:120:01:14

brings our weather front

0:01:140:01:15

a little bit further southwards

0:01:150:01:17

so that cool fresh air

0:01:170:01:18

getting into Glasgow, for instance,

0:01:180:01:20

into Belfast, but for Cardiff and London,

0:01:200:01:22

temperatures really holding up,

0:01:220:01:24

another muggy night.

0:01:240:01:25

Now, into Tuesday, the fresher air

0:01:250:01:27

will really be sitting

0:01:270:01:28

across the northern half of the country.

0:01:280:01:30

The hot air still in place across the south

0:01:300:01:32

so temperatures once again during Tuesday

0:01:320:01:34

across southern parts of England,

0:01:340:01:36

south Wales will get close to 30 degrees.

0:01:360:01:39

To the north of that,

0:01:390:01:40

it will be much cooler and fresher

0:01:400:01:41

and along the line of our weather front,

0:01:410:01:43

there is a greater chance

0:01:430:01:44

that we could see one or two showers

0:01:440:01:46

and thunderstorms through the afternoon.

0:01:460:01:48

Now, during Tuesday night into Wednesday,

0:01:480:01:50

our weather front, having moved its way southwards

0:01:500:01:52

then begins to move its way north-eastwards again.

0:01:520:01:54

It will introduce some showery rain at this stage

0:01:540:01:57

across parts of Northern Ireland, western Scotland,

0:01:570:01:59

some western fringes of England and Wales as well.

0:01:590:02:01

Some of this could be heavy ahead of it.

0:02:010:02:03

Still some dry weather,

0:02:030:02:04

fairly cool to the north-east,

0:02:040:02:06

fairly warm to the south-east

0:02:060:02:07

and during Wednesday night into Thursday

0:02:070:02:10

as this warm front continues its journey eastwards,

0:02:100:02:12

it could well allow some very, very warm air,

0:02:120:02:15

even some very hot air to move in again

0:02:150:02:18

across the south-east of the country

0:02:180:02:20

so Thursday could be an even hotter day

0:02:200:02:22

across parts of the south-east in England -

0:02:220:02:24

29/30 degrees,

0:02:240:02:25

maybe even a little higher here and there.

0:02:250:02:27

But further north and west,

0:02:270:02:28

again that cooler, fresher feel.

0:02:280:02:30

17 degrees there in Aberdeen,

0:02:300:02:32

still quite a lot of dry weather

0:02:320:02:34

across the country at this stage.

0:02:340:02:35

Now, through Thursday night into Friday,

0:02:350:02:37

it will be a slow process,

0:02:370:02:39

but we will see fresher air moving

0:02:390:02:41

from the west across more parts of the country.

0:02:410:02:44

That fresher air coming from the Atlantic,

0:02:440:02:46

but also coming from the Atlantic weather systems,

0:02:460:02:49

like this one which will bring some rain

0:02:490:02:50

into the north-west, we suspect, on Friday.

0:02:500:02:53

Still some warmth into the south-east,

0:02:530:02:54

but temperatures back into the mid-20s

0:02:540:02:57

by this stage and as we go on into next weekend,

0:02:570:03:00

we will see more of that cool fresh air

0:03:000:03:02

coming in from the Atlantic

0:03:020:03:04

because an area of low pressure

0:03:040:03:05

is likely to move its way in and park itself

0:03:050:03:08

across the north of the British Isles.

0:03:080:03:10

This low is likely to become quite slow moving,

0:03:100:03:12

bringing us this westerly wind,

0:03:120:03:14

bringing us the fresher air from the Atlantic

0:03:140:03:17

so next weekend should be a cooler, fresher feel

0:03:170:03:20

and that is what we take forward

0:03:200:03:21

into the following week as well.

0:03:210:03:22

Cooler days, fresher nights,

0:03:220:03:24

a mixture of sunshine and showers,

0:03:240:03:26

although some of the showers

0:03:260:03:27

could be on the heavy side

0:03:270:03:28

so the heat will eventually ease.

0:03:280:03:30

I mean, Lauren, she's too nice.
