Oh, hello. I didn't see you there.

I've had a fantastic day of adventures today.

Sorry about the mess.

It's going to take me quite a while to tidy it up.

Oh, you're not going to want my smelly socks over there.

Whoo! Ho-ho!

Oh, look.

Even my T-shirt doesn't want to be near my smelly socks.

Hang on a minute.

Whoa!

How did you get in here?

She must have jumped in my backpack

when I was on an adventure in South America.

Do you know what this is? This is an armadillo.

Now, it's basically made of armour, hence the name "armadillo".

They use this armour to protect themselves against stinging

and biting ants and termites that they love to eat in the wild.

Then to protect themselves against any predators,

they roll up so almost nothing can hurt them.

Hmm...hang on a minute.

I think I'm too tall to ball.

But there are lots of other animals

that roll up to protect themselves.

-Hedgehogs may look sweet...

-Aw!

..but they can roll up into a spiky ball, so no matter where

a predator tries to bite them, they'll get a mouthful of prickles.

And you've probably got woodlice around the house

or the garden somewhere.

They normally live under bark and wood outside.

They have a lot of strong little plates

to look just like a tiny football.

I can't think why anyone would want to eat them.

My armadillo friend has given me a brilliant idea.

Would you like to make an armadillo ball, too?

-Yay!

-All right.

All you need is a blanket or a duvet any kind of soft bedding will do.

Great.

So, jump up on your feet, make sure you have plenty of space around you

and that you're on the floor.

Grab your blanket or duvet and spread out like this behind you.

Then, as you go down, we're going to fold the blanket in,

roll over like this,

bring your blanket all the way over, try and tuck your feet in, too.

And there we have it.

Are you ready to roll? Let's do it.

Wahey! Whoohoo!

Yay! Whoohoo!

Ah, that was fun.

I'm getting a bit tired now, though.

I think I need to tidy the rest of the room up and then go to bed.
