You're live with Leah and we're about to go space crazy.

:00:00.:00:12.

Mission control to Newsround. You do not want to miss this. Five,

:00:13.:00:18.

four, three, two, one. And lift off! So, today's show is all about space,

:00:19.:00:26.

because right now, Tim Peake is doing the final training he needs to

:00:27.:00:29.

become the first ever British astronaut to live on the

:00:30.:00:34.

International space station, or ISS. It's all happening

:00:35.:00:38.

at a top secret venue... Hello, welcome to Star City in

:00:39.:00:52.

Moscow in Russia. This is the training camp for all astronauts

:00:53.:00:58.

that orbit the Earth. Major Tim Peake is currently here. He's the

:00:59.:01:01.

first British astronaut to fly to the ISS. We are here to meet him.

:01:02.:01:06.

There's training exercise of the day. Tim gets suited up and joined

:01:07.:01:15.

by his crew members, who have spent years training. Now, blast off is

:01:16.:01:19.

only a few weeks away. It is your last day of trading today. Where

:01:20.:01:23.

will you be doing today, and are you prepared for blast off?

:01:24.:01:28.

Today's job is, I'm docking for the space station re-entry back to

:01:29.:01:34.

Earth. I think we are prepared well for it.

:01:35.:01:37.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee shuttle to test his capabilities to the extreme.

:01:38.:01:41.

They are going through a simulation of what it is like to remove

:01:42.:01:44.

themselves from the International Space Station and return to Earth.

:01:45.:01:48.

So whatever Tim is going through now will be the way he does it when he

:01:49.:01:52.

is in space. This is where he will be eating on this table. And check

:01:53.:01:58.

this out. This is his toilet. Nice! He will be learning how to learn all

:01:59.:02:02.

the controls, and this is where he will dig his science experiments

:02:03.:02:05.

from. When he wishes to access the rest of the space station, he will

:02:06.:02:12.

do it through that whole. This is their final destination. The

:02:13.:02:14.

International Space Station. In between his busy training regime,

:02:15.:02:20.

Tim did get time to to to us. I have been in the space station behind us,

:02:21.:02:23.

that is really cramped. How do you deal with that?

:02:24.:02:27.

It does feel cramped, but you really get used to it, and this is only

:02:28.:02:33.

about half of the whole space there would space station.

:02:34.:02:36.

Hardier think this mission will change your life?

:02:37.:02:40.

I think it will be a wonderful experience, and my mission is to

:02:41.:02:43.

share that with as many people as possible when I get back, and also,

:02:44.:02:47.

to use it to contribute to the future programmes. We are looking at

:02:48.:02:51.

going to the Moon and Mars. From here, Tim will spend some time

:02:52.:02:55.

in quarantine, which is basically like a seal house which means he

:02:56.:02:58.

does not take any germs or infections with him to the space

:02:59.:03:02.

station. I have seen some of the training he has been doing, but he

:03:03.:03:05.

has told me that none of it compares to how he will actually feel when he

:03:06.:03:10.

is living in outer space. Brilliant stuff.

:03:11.:03:11.

Well, you guys have been getting just as excited

:03:12.:03:13.

Loads of you sent in questions for Hayley to ask him,

:03:14.:03:18.

OK, so how do you feel about being the first British astronaut who had

:03:19.:03:30.

to the International Space Station? That's from Jessica.

:03:31.:03:33.

I am very proud to be the first Brit to go to the space station. I was

:03:34.:03:37.

also very inspired by Helen Sharman, he was our first British astronaut

:03:38.:03:41.

in space. How long will it take to plan your

:03:42.:03:44.

trip to space? Going to space takes a long time to

:03:45.:03:48.

plan and prepare for. I was assigned to and a half years ago, but I have

:03:49.:03:52.

been an astronaut or six years. All that time has been training and

:03:53.:03:56.

preparing for space. Are you allowed to choose your own

:03:57.:03:59.

food or do you have to eat what has been given to you?

:04:00.:04:03.

Most of the food we eat in space is a set menu given to us, but we have

:04:04.:04:06.

a small percentage called bonus food. This is the exciting food that

:04:07.:04:11.

Heston Blumenthal has prepared with the schoolkids. There are seven

:04:12.:04:14.

menus he has prepared for me, which I'm really looking forward to.

:04:15.:04:19.

What are you most looking forward to and most dreading about going into

:04:20.:04:21.

space? I am most looking forward to the

:04:22.:04:25.

view of planet Earth. We have a wonderful Earth facing window, so to

:04:26.:04:30.

go there and actually watch the Earth go buy at 70,000 mph beneath

:04:31.:04:34.

you is going to be wonderful. What am I most dreading? Probably not

:04:35.:04:37.

having a hot shower for six months! You can see Tim

:04:38.:04:39.

answering more questions Plus, find out loads of

:04:40.:04:41.

cool facts about his mission Do check those out,

:04:42.:04:45.

and while you're there, let us know what you're up to

:04:46.:04:49.

for Children in Need tomorrow.
