Now, what will you be studying today at school?

Maybe you're having a science lesson?

Well, imagine visiting Greece and the seeing ruins for yourself,

or going on a journey through the human body,

all whilst staying in your classroom.

Newsround HQ told me that I would be going on an incredible trip today -

but it looks like they've sent me back to school!

We are going to be learning about Ancient Egypt.

Don't worry, Martin, you're going to enjoy

This is virtual reality learning - where kids can explore

amazing places without even leaving the classroom.

It's part of a new project designed by Google to bring learning to life,

and allow kids to go on a virtual school trip

wherever their teacher wants to take them, using just a smartphone,

this cardboard headset and a selection of apps.

It is an amazing experience for these children.

Now we can go on a school trip under the sea, we can go on a school trip

to Mars, we can go on a school trip anywhere around the world

The experience uses 3-D and 360 degrees images and videos,

and is being tested in schools around the world.

People my age like this because you get to see

all the different parts of the world.

I'd rather have a school trip because you get to go in a place

I've seen the stars, I've seen the sun,

You can just see, like, what's under the sea

and if you can't swim you can just used the goggles.

It makes it more fun to come to school because you know that

every day you are going to get a surprise and at the same time,

Well, this group seemed to have enjoyed their lessons today.

And this might be how more classrooms work in the future.

But as for me - I'm feeling a bit lost!

There's a huge weekend of sport to look forward to in Manchester

with the Great City Games getting under way on Friday evening -

where some of the best athletes in the world compete head

Preparation has already begun to get the heart of Manchester ready

Champion hurdler Tiffany Porter in the studio.

You must be really excited. Absolutely. I am so excited to be

here. The street races are my favourite and I am getting forward

to Friday. It was Saturday last year.

You will be competing at night. Do you prefer competing at night or the

morning? I would prefer evening races because

it gives you an opportunity to get the day moving and get your body

moving so I am looking forward to this new time.

Last year, new beta Jessica Ennis Hill. You going to be facing her

again? She is not competing this year. It

was a great competition last year and I am looking forward to racing

the girls this year and putting on a good show.

And making a name for yourself. It is an important year with the VO

Olympics taking place in August. Does that put more pressure on you

now? Yes and no. He wants to take each

race at a time and focus on what you are trying to work on to get ready

for August. At the end of the day it is an Olympic year. Everyone is

giving up towards that big one. I am just looking forward to doing well

at Manchester and building on it through the season.

There are loads of other events. Greg Rutherford will be taking part

as well. Do you get to socialise? There is a

great camaraderie on the team. I respect everybody. It is exciting to

see every athlete going out there and individually doing what they do

for the collective of the team. You have got an American accent.

You have dual citizenship. My dad was born in Nigeria and my mum was

worn in England and I was born in America.
