First today we're talking about the massive news | :00:12. | :00:14.
and football supporters across the UK. | :00:15. | :00:19.
It's after a disaster that happened at a football stadium | :00:20. | :00:22.
In a minute, we'll find out about what's been going on. | :00:23. | :00:27.
But first Ayshah looks back at what happened | :00:28. | :00:29.
Liverpool fans arrived at Sheffield Wednesday's Stadium | :00:30. | :00:39.
Too many fans were let into the stadium and many of them | :00:40. | :00:45.
and hundreds more were injured. | :00:46. | :00:53.
Because of this disaster, football stadiums have changed. | :00:54. | :00:57.
Fans all have seats and there are no longer metal fences | :00:58. | :01:00.
This has made football grounds much safer so | :01:01. | :01:03.
a disaster like this could never happen again. | :01:04. | :01:13.
Since the disaster, families of the victims have been | :01:14. | :01:16.
For the past two years, an inquest has been trying | :01:17. | :01:19.
And yesterday, the decisions were made. | :01:20. | :01:25.
The BBC's Judith Moritz was there and sent | :01:26. | :01:27.
An inquest is where you find out how and why somebody dies, | :01:28. | :01:31.
and at Hillsborough, very sadly, 96 people died. | :01:32. | :01:33.
And also it happened nearly 30 years ago. | :01:34. | :01:44.
It's taken a really long time to get the answers. | :01:45. | :01:46.
But it was decided that the Liverpool fans who died, | :01:47. | :01:49.
they died because the policeman who was in charge of the game | :01:50. | :01:51.
they were at made a really big mistake. | :01:52. | :01:54.
He allowed too many people to go inside the football ground | :01:55. | :01:56.
The families of the people who died say they are | :01:57. | :02:00.
really pleased to find out at last what happened, but they also say | :02:01. | :02:03.
they really miss their relatives very much. | :02:04. | :02:11.
To find out more about why the judge's decisions matter | :02:12. | :02:13.
so much, we've been to a school in Merseyside to talk to students | :02:14. | :02:16.
there, about find out what Hillsborough means to them. | :02:17. | :02:22.
We have spent so long waiting for a result | :02:23. | :02:24.
and it is hopefully what everybody wanted. | :02:25. | :02:27.
The families can finally find peace and justice. | :02:28. | :02:33.
Definitely there will be a big relief for Liverpool | :02:34. | :02:35.
because it kind of brings everyone in Liverpool together. | :02:36. | :02:37.
Since I've been growing up, Hillsborough has always been | :02:38. | :02:39.
a question of what happened and I think today | :02:40. | :02:42.
is really going to be a bit of relief to people, | :02:43. | :02:44.
that they actually know really what actually happened. | :02:45. | :02:46.
They'll feel relieved and I reckon they will be able to take a step | :02:47. | :02:50.
forward, but they will never be truly able to forget those that | :02:51. | :02:53.
Now that they've got the result that they were unlawfully killed | :02:54. | :02:59.
then they can mourn them in a way that they should | :03:00. | :03:02.
Today marks exactly 100 days to go until the start | :03:03. | :03:13.
Athletes all over Great Britain are still hoping to book their spot | :03:14. | :03:17.
But one girl who has already guaranteed her place | :03:18. | :03:26.
is Team GB triathlete Vicky Holland. | :03:27. | :03:27.
Thank you so much for coming. 100 days to go, how are you feeling? | :03:28. | :03:38.
Really excited. It is subject great feeling to be part of the team and I | :03:39. | :03:42.
am getting ready to race. 100 days seems quite a long time but when | :03:43. | :03:45.
you're training for the Olympics it not that long. What is your plan | :03:46. | :03:50.
between now and then? 100 days is down to the crux of it now, | :03:51. | :03:54.
especially when you have been training your life for these events. | :03:55. | :03:58.
Now we get to the point where I am a bit more focused on the racing, all | :03:59. | :04:01.
my races between now and then will be in preparation for that race in | :04:02. | :04:06.
Brazil, so it is specifics. 'S so they are similar to the ones you're | :04:07. | :04:10.
doing at the Olympics? Absolutely. Anthony Stadler, Nicola Collins, | :04:11. | :04:12.
Andrew Collins, Judith Fuller, Denise Barnes and Kathleen Adams | :04:13. | :04:14.
exciting! Also, the new kit is being released. Have you seen it? I do not | :04:15. | :04:20.
go anything about it. The only thing I have heard is that there is less | :04:21. | :04:23.
union Jacks on it but it is still very British to its core. British | :04:24. | :04:29.
but sparse? Excited to see that! We will keep you posted. It is a | :04:30. | :04:32.
big-time in the Olympic sports triathletes in general. The girls I | :04:33. | :04:37.
such a strong team. What are your goals? We have a phenomenal team in | :04:38. | :04:42.
triathlon. There's not that many medals to win but there is a really | :04:43. | :04:45.
good chance that we could come home with more medals than not, so I | :04:46. | :04:50.
really personally want to come on with a medal. I bet you do and I am | :04:51. | :04:53.
sure you will. Good luck and thank you for coming to chat to us. | :04:54. | :04:55.
Well, we'll have more from Vicky over on the website | :04:56. | :04:59. |
