-until the Olympic Games in Rio.

-This weekend, Cardiff hosts

-her own Olympics for young people.

-Over 1,200 competitors take part

-in eleven different sports.

-Gemau Cymru is the goal for

-the best young athletes in Wales.

-It's a fantastic thing

-that features 11 different sports.

-The eleven sports include triathlon,

-athletics, indoor rowing...

-..and weightlifting

-which is new this year.

-Today, I did some weightlifting with

-the snatch and the clean and jerk.

-I wanted to compete because

-weightlifting is a new sport.

-There aren't as many competitors

-and it differs from the norm.

-I did the snatch

-and the clean and jerk.

-The snatch was in round one and

-the clean and jerk in round two.

-A clean and jerk includes a squat

-before the final jerk...

-..and the snatch

-goes from floor to ceiling.

-Today, I attempted the 50kg

-but failed to lift it.

-I've done it before so have

-high hopes for the next event.

-I got a personal best on the snatch

-but not on the clean and jerk.

-The children like meeting with their

-counterparts from across Wales...

-..and taking part

-in a quality event.

-We're at the

-Cardiff White Water Centre.

-There's rafting, kayaking and

-canoeing and I'm ready to compete.

-Anyone of any ability can compete

-both on the water and the flat.

-This centre is great and gives them

-the chance to compete on water.

-The races are on calm water

-and the white water.

-It's a great opportunity and

-I get to compete for the school.

-I'm the only person from my school

-taking part and I'm kayaking.

-I've just finished my heat in the

-kayaking and it was a lot of fun.

-I've had a great time today.

-We stopped in Llanberis

-for something to eat and drink.

-This year, 20 cyclists

-will cover 240 miles...

-..and will bravely venture

-into England and back on Sunday.

-This wouldn't be possible

-if it wasn't for Menai Tractors...

-..Aldi in Porthmadog, Always Aim

-High and Harlech Frozen Foods...

-..and all those cycling

-over the three days.

-It's going to be a challenge

-but a lot of fun.

-I'm feeling good as I've organized

-it down to the last detail.

-I've stayed with Morgan

-so am happy and can eat this cake!

-I've been a member of the lifeboat

-crew for many years.

-I'm a self-employed builder and this

-is very different to the day job.

-It's tough at times

-but I'm having fun.

-We've got members from the

-lifeboat and Yr Eifl Bike Club.

-We work together

-and it's something we all enjoy.

-All of us come back

-to help to raise funds...

-..and hope to reach Llangollen

-for tonight's game in good spirits.

-leave the family and get some sleep!
