-You can't go wrong with steak.

-with creamy potatoes.

-They're a little naughty but nice.

-Steak is low in fat and we always

-need carbohydrates.

-You can roast some vegetables

-very tall and he used to play rugby.

-That night, he charmed me

-and we haven't looked back since.

-On the morning of my birthday,

-he brought me outside...

-..and he went down on one knee

-and asked me to marry him.

-He'd already prepared the champagne

-so he knew that I'd say "yes."

-I knew early on that Emily

-was the one for me.

-A year on,

-I decided to take the next step.

-I asked her to marry her.

-..whilst I went with my friends and

-family to dance in the city centre.

-I hadn't felt that nervous

-since retiring from rugby.

-In the morning,

-I couldn't concentrate.

-When the dance ended, I popped the

-question but she didn't respond.

-I made the most of the silence

-and put a ring on her finger.

-Around 70 years ago,

-we were in school together.

-We will celebrate our

-62 wedding anniversary soon...

-..we have three children

-seven grandchildren...

-..and three great-grandchildren.

-We don't share the same interests.

-I enjoy walking, but Marion doesn't.

-However, we both enjoy reading.

-Yes, we also enjoy

-going out for a meal.

-We met when I studied at university

-in Cardiff, ten years ago.

-At the time, Will had been posted

-to Cardiff with the Navy.

-On Valentine's Day in 2014,

-Will flew to Afghanistan.

-I didn't know that

-he'd already purchased a ring...

-..and given it to my friend

-to keep safe whilst he was away.

-During a break in his tour, we went

-on a Christmas break to Australia.

-There was a hamper, champagne,

-photographs of us...

-..and a big scroll

-asking me to marry him.

-When I turned around, he was down

-on one knee, asking me to marry him.

-We met ten years ago on a night out

-when we were both out with friends.

-When I arrived home, I told my

-mother that I'd found the one.

-We got married

-five years ago in 2010.

-We had an enormous wedding with our

-best friends and family members.

-We don't have children but we do

-have dogs and they've had puppies.

-We're like parents

-to the dogs and puppies!

-In the morning, I take the dogs for

-a walk before coming home to shower.

-I have to wake him up!

-We come to work but when we're home,

-I do all the cooking.

-I can't cook but it isn't my fault.

-This is our first St Dwynwen's Day

-as a married couple.

-It will be a special day and I hope

-I'll receive a bunch of flowers.

-After the engagement, Emily and I

-got married as soon as possible.

-We're getting married in May.

-We can't wait to spend

-the rest of our lives together.

-I believe the secret to a long

-..is learning to cohabit

-and be friends.

-on an argument.

-John Huw Thomas who turned 80.

-John Huw Thomas is a

-renowned musician and conductor...

-..and he's helped to nourish

-some of our best musicians.

-Many of those musicians

-are indebted to him.

-..or they've been members

-of my various choirs.

-Some have travelled from London,

-the North of England and France.

-I got to know John many years ago.

-He was at my audition for

-the National Youth Choir of Wales.

-At the end of my audition...

-..he told me to join his choir

-if I came to study in Swansea.

-That's what I did whilst studying

-for my first degree in Physics.

-I performed with Cor Bach Abertawe

-until he retired.

-We're very close

-and John was at our wedding.

-He's like a second father

-or a choral father-figure to me.

-He's a generous teacher

-who loves to nurture talent.

-He's a genius

-when it comes to conducting.

-He can interpret pieces

-and explain them differently.

-He's greatly influenced me

-since I was a very young chorister.

-John is quite a character.

-We learn so much from singing

-and from his stories and knowledge.

-He's a fun person to be around and

-we have lots of fun in his company.

-This afternoon,

-we were learning a waltz.

-He danced with one of the singers

-to explain the nature of the piece.

-This showed us how he wanted us

-to perform the music.

-He's celebrated his 80th birthday.

-Today, there are 120 people here

-to show our appreciation to him.

-He's been an inspiration and passed

-on so much choral information.

-I've had the opportunity

-to work with 120 fantastic singers.

-They can all read music and respond

-to anything I ask.

-It's a real pleasure and makes me

-feel much younger than my years.
